The song leader started Silent Night way too high, so the high notes were pretty screechy. If one could hit them at all.
DR JohnG, how did you like Metropolitan? My friend Taylor Nichols is quite good in it.
I don’t think he’s in Love & Friendship, the film version of Austen’s Lady Susan.
Today starting at 12 noon EST - there is a COPS marathon on the REELZ channel.
I am going to be skipping Hellman's Frozen Mayo-Nog, thank you.
It’ll be interesting to see how lunch goes since I can’t use a knife.

George can regale.
We watched Glass Onion tonight. While a agree with BK's assessment, there was still lots to enjoy. And, DR Jane, it is not necessary to have watched the first movie to enjoy this one.
The minister said you weren’t kidding about knowing people here
I am having a memory, as I type, of being a kid on Christmas morning and not being able to stand the excitement of what Santa Claus might have brought to me.
My folks always implored me to stay in bed until light came through my window. It was danged hard...and sometimes I would peek into the living room at the tree before it was light.
Ah, the magic....
Sounds festive, Singdaw. But I have klass.
My sister always sends us a cheesecake from Junior's. This year it's an assortment of mini cheesecakes. So I never need to make a dessert on Christmas.
Christmas morning greetings! We have chickened out of driving to Cincinnati today. Our steep driveway is icy underneath the snow. We could probably get down, but we might not get back up.
Since DR VIXMOM went to two church services last night, I figured I didn't have to go to one.
In the 9 degree temperature.
I was just about to make my own tuna pasta salad - but my sister texted me and said they had some of ALL the kinds of food left over from the party.....so she's bringing me some of each.
I would guess I won't have to cook until tomorrow.
Christmas was very special to my father. He's been gone 19 years now. I miss him.
I am going to be skipping Hellman's Frozen Mayo-Nog, thank you.
I’ll join you in that boycott.
~~~COPING & HEALING VIBES~~~ for DR John G.!!!!!!!
I could not get to sleep because the sauce has a bit of a kick to it and it was just impossible. I was up every ten minutes popping a Pepcid to no avail. Drinking some ginger ale to know avail. I think I finally fell asleep for good at six-thirty and woke up when the alarm went off at ten-thirty. Lesson learned: DO NOT HAVE A HELPING OF SPAGHETTI AT ONE IN THE MORNING! EVER!.
The Do was splendid! Mark and I went back several times for spaghetti, which was a good thing because Bruce seemed to make enough pasta for about 50 people. All the desserts were amazing, but in particular, Alby Potts brought some homemade cheesecake pecan bars that were out of this world. I snuck a couple home with me. Adrian Russ brought homemade lemon cookies made with lemons from her own tree that were very good, and Mark's favorite since he's allergic to both nuts and chocolate.
At some point, Bruce yelled, "Where's Robert Yacko!" and within seconds, Robert rang the doorbell - it was a bit eerie. Bruce and Robert regaled us with wonderful stories - I didn't realize Robert had done so much television work and now I feel like I need to go looking for clips on You Tube. And I now know what Oscar-nominated films NOT to see!
All in all a wonderful time was had by all.
I have taken the vegan, gluten-free carrot cake out of the freezer. It says it takes 6 hours to thaw.
Merry Christmas from Kenmore, NY
Merry Christmas from Kenmore, NY
It’s Day 3 of the Christmas Blizzard. Actually, it hasn’t snowed much today
in this part of the Buffalo area. The travel ban is still in effect. Not sure when we’ll be able to go anywhere. I’m just grateful that we have electricity. It’s just my brother, his wife, their dog, and I.
Merry Christmas from Kenmore, NY
And Merry Christmas back atcha!
Christmas morning greetings! We have chickened out of driving to Cincinnati today. Our steep driveway is icy underneath the snow. We could probably get down, but we might not get back up.
I was wondering if you would be able to go. Do you have food besides the desserts to eat?
DR Kevin, how much total accumulation of snow do you have there?
DR KEVINH what is the dog's name?
Yes, DR Jane, I planned last night’s dinner for just this contingency. We have pork roast, wild rice, and Jello salad leftover and I’ll add a new green vegetable.
But, what we missed today was prime rib with Yorkshire pudding - and some good company.
DR Kevin, how much total accumulation of snow do you have there?
Better than I thought but still not fun.
The airport had 43 inches as of this morning. Not sure how much where I am, but probably 30 plus. It’s hard to tell with the drifting.
DR JANE after I replied "sure" to the message about the leftovers - it has been eerily quiet. I have heard nothing else.....so I am not sure what is happening.
I started to watch a basketball game and fell asleep - four hours ago so there you are.
Forty years ago today, we had Christmas lunch with Richard’s parents and took an afternoon flight to New York City. We saw 8 shows in the week we were there, alternating standing in the TKTS line and warming ourselves in the bookstore where DR Elmore worked. This was when we were DINKs - Double Income, No Kids.
I am celebrating Christmas by doing laundry.
Sing, that was me who asked about GLASS ONION. Thanks for your response. I'll probably watch it today.
Darling Daughter has left the premises. Her BFF showed up after about ninety minutes, so we all had fun. Daughter had spaghetti and tuna pasta salad, BFF just had the tuna pasta salad. Daughter baked a lot of fun thing for me, and gave me her usual scratcher card. In all the years she's done this I think I won $2.00 once, another ticket once, and 10.00 once. Well, we struck it rich with this one - seventy-five bucks, baby. We went to the 7-11 where she got it and I got my damn cash. Fun! Anyway, it was a lovelier than lovely visit, and now I'm eating tuna pasta salad, batch two, since batch one had nothing left after the girls ate it.
Thank you. I am glad since Keith doesn't want to watch it again.
DR Jeanne did you see Singdaw's response?
My sister texted me at last and said she had been playing with Audrey since Ryan & Emily had left to visit his family about 45 minutes away.
She saw my text about half an hour ago.....and I said tomorrow will be fine! So tomorrow I will have my leftovers!
I think it's time for a walk. I've been eating like a pig recently. I've wondered if I have a tapeworm. ;)
In any case, I need some exercise.
TTFN.
A friend gave me a copy of the TV series The In-Laws, which I haven’t seen in ages. I loved it when I was little.
Is this a new Christmas episode of All Creatures?
Aunt Sassy won Christmas.
Started watching Matilda the Musical - once they got off the babies, I though to myself, myself, is there a template these directors follow, because the opening just looked and sounded the same as all these recent things, especially 13. Busy, busy, busy, staging editing, playing to the camera, just weird to me. The little girl who plays Matilda is fine. I got thirty minutes in before dozing off, so I'll watch the rest tomorrow night. I do thing the music I've heard (this is my first time with Matilda the Musical) is pretty banal and simplistic, and the lyrics are pretty sloppy in terms of craft.
No covid vibes for George and everyone else!
I just got home and will take another test.
My dinner, courtesy of Ann and Jen via Viand Cafe, was quite delicious: lots of turkey, dressing, mashed potato, carrots, matzoh ball soup, cranberry sauce, and chocolate cake. I have plenty of leftovers for tomorrow.
I was afraid the dinner might be tepid by the time it arrived, but everything was packed so well, it was piping hot. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough.
Craig told us about a plane crash near him last month. Amazingly the plane held together and wasn't zapped. Though injured the pilot & passenger lived.
I am celebrating Christmas by doing laundry.
I've done laundry on many Christmases. Not today -- I did it yesterday. It's like death and taxes, but more frequent.
This morning three power substation facilities were vandalized in Pierce County, Washington >:(
Too many foodstuffs were consumed.
The Dead is an amazing movie. Just loved it. But it’s set on Epiphany, not Christmas. I’ll have to remember.
Yay!I just got home and will take another test.
I just took another test and I'm still negative! Whew!!
I wish the musical had been recorded.
Congrats on the winnings, BK!
Hi, John G. Hope you're handling knives OK.
Hi, George. glad you're still negative.
I have a recording somewhere. It was from a local production.
DR TCB do you have power?
I hope someone picked DR TCB up to spend the day with his family.
And so, here we sit like so much fish.
No George, who is probably down some useless rabbit hole.
DR TCB do you have power?
My power went out about 5 o’clock this morning, and it stayed out till about 11 AM. I was cursing the guards at the time, but I guess there was 2000 of my fellow residents who had no power until at least 6 o’clock or 8 o’clock tonight.
Goodbye Jello dick rope!
