Well, you've read the notes, the notes closed in, and now it is time for you to post until the closing in cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LODESTAR!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Wow - lots o' posting going on last night after I went to bed. Good show.
-
~~~CONTINUED PAIN BEGONE VIBES~~~ for DR TCB!!!!!!
-
Another night of lackluster sleep. I used to fall asleep practically instantly. But those days appear to be gone. Gone with the wind.
-
Well, fiddle-dee-dee!
-
Bring back folderol, I say!
-
Are we still on page one?
-
~~~CONTINUED MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for BK!!!!!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
It's 42 degrees F today, and it's too hot in this apartment. I could not get to sleep until some time past midnight. Once I did, I slept rather well.
-
That lying fraud George Santos took his case to Fox News - home of lying, dishonest politicians - where he could make his case by pointing out how much larger a liar Joe Biden was. I think he should be removed from office and the election for that seat redone.
-
DR George, JAY's advertising is often as shaky as the CD credits. That SHOW BOAT recording is not the 1946 version; it's the licensed R&H rental package, as you can hear if you compare the 1946 revival cast recording with the JAY.
-
~~~TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for you today, DR elmore3003!!!!!!!
-
I regret not taking a day off work and going to the cutting room shoot
-
I must get to work but first I’ll Wordle
At start of the day-
~~~STRONGEST BASEMENT ABATEMENT VIBES~~~ for DR vixmom and vixdad!!!!!!!!
-
What song do you sing at a snowman's birthday party?
-
Freeze a jolly good fellow.
-
Why was Cinderella so bad at soccer?
-
She kept running away from the Ball.
-
I can keep this up to page forty-seven.
-
Is that a threat, or a promise?
-
Tune in to find out...
-
In the meantime,
-
Since we're so close,
-
PAGE TWO!!
-
Good morning, all.
-
The Cinderella joke was okay.
-
I can feel it getting warmer. It’s already 42 outside.
-
I can ditch the sweater vest maybe.
-
I’m taking the splints off again today.
-
Wednesday morning greetings! Our neighbor Rosemary cleared our driveway yesterday, so I think we’re going to venture out today. We have some errands to do and I really, really want to eat out. I’m a little tired of my own cooking.
-
That’s a nice neighbor, Ginny.
-
That’s a nice neighbor, Ginny.
Indeed! She called Christmas morning and said, “Don’t go out!” She had brought our newspapers up when she walked her dog and discovered that our driveway was icy underneath the snow.
-
Wow! That's great.
-
Why did the bicycle fall over?
-
It was two tired.
-
Listening to a piece on Thomas Ades. Interesting composer.
-
I've never listened to any of his music, but his operas are much talked about and he seems to be quite prolific.
-
What song do you sing at a snowman's birthday party?
Heat Wave
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE this morning.....isn't he making a personal appearance in town?
-
Thanks to MR BK for answering my question last night - I know that I sent him on quite an expedition for my song choice.
As long as it's somewhere - and not in the trash can - I'm happy.
-
Well.....since it's joke day....here is one I heard on television last night...although...it is rated PG.
How can you find the blind man in the nudist camp?
It's not hard.
-
TA DA!
-
I didn't think those fools on LET'S MAKE A DEAL could get any cheaper, but I think they are now giving away trips for one.....the don't say "...you and a friend...." or "...round trip airfare for two...." any more.....it's "....you'll enjoy...."
-
Party of one... ...do we have a DEAL for you!!
-
Well.....since it's joke day....here is one I heard on television last night...although...it is rated PG.
How can you find the blind man in the nudist camp?
It's not hard.
Ha!
-
I don't think BK has ever told the one about the Randy Vicar at the nudist camp.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep.
-
I never knew about that Stan Getz / Tanglewood recording. Sounds very tempting.
-
Yes, DR Ginny, isn't it amazing how appealing the simple act of eating out can seem sometimes?
-
Especially if you can cut the food. Or handle it with one hand.
-
It’s up to 60.
-
Onward.
-
Three!
-
DR Singdaw it was outside pipes freezing that caused the inside fire sprinklers to go off inside four units on Christmas Eve day. Fortunately for us, they were not in our building.
-
Listening to Ades’s Powder Her Face. Very 21st century music, for better and for worse.
-
So, this opera has an aria sung by the leading character as she is performing a sex act on a room service delivery man.
-
My question for ASK BK DAY.
Since SAMI will be on a streaming service - will it be Emmy-eligible?
-
DR TCB did you find your charger and hose for your portable oxygen tank?
-

That was very nice of Rosemaary.
-
Yes, DR Ginny, isn't it amazing how appealing the simple act of eating out can seem sometimes?
Unless traveling we rarely eat out anymore. It would be nice to go out.
-
Especially if you can cut the food. Or handle it with one hand.
Keith is embarrassed when I need him to cut my food.
-
Really embarrassing was on the ship when I asked the waiter to cut my spaghetti before serving. Oh no, they could not "present" it that way and the waiter cut it for me after he served it.
-
Since Christmas morning we have had a nutria feasting on the lawn outside our window. From a distance he looks like a big rock. This morning he is closer and I don't need the telescope to watch him.
-

-
Wow, DR Jane!
-
A forthcoming cookbook on vegan Middle Eastern cooking is called "Veganistan." I thought that was clever.
-
I have been known at times to cut my spaghetti before consuming. I'm sure that is anathema to many purists. But I do my own cutting.
DR Jane, do you scan menus for items that don't need to be cut?
-
Where was King David's Temple located?
-
Behind his ear.
-
DR Singdaw it was outside pipes freezing that caused the inside fire sprinklers to go off inside four units on Christmas Eve day. Fortunately for us, they were not in our building.
That happened at the Fitton Art Center in Hamilton, OH, (where DR Elmore gave a lecture several years ago) and at the state capitol in Columbus.
-
The recipe says that this festive Feta Tapenade tarte is "easy."
Somehow I don't believe them.
-
But I always was a sucker for a tart.
-
Insert DR TCB's retort here.
-
A tart tarte retort, as it were.
-
But I always was a sucker for a tart.
Hey, that’s my line.
-
I am home. AAR has its low standards to maintain.
-
The ride down to City Center was on time and all went well. However . . .
-
My ride home was scheduled for 1:30. At 12:54, AAR texted me that my eide would arrive in 15 minutes.At 1:06 I got a text that my ride had arrived. The driver called to tell me she was outside. Joshie helped me get out to the street. I called the driver, since I did not see a car anywhere. I was told she was at 112 Street, not West 56th, I told her - I think it was a woman and the accent and traffic noises did not help - I was taking a taxi home.
-
Joshie helped me with the taxi. About halfway home, another driver called to say he was outside City Center. I told him the ride was a dud.
-
I walked in my front door at 1:36 and my phone rang. It was from someone with AAR. He told me my driver was waiting for me. I told him I was home. He was not happy.
-
Oy.
-
I wonder if AAR is using the same tech systems as SouthWest airlines.
-
FOUR

Cute!

That looks yummy!
-
But I always was a sucker for a tart.
I resemble that remark!
;)
-

Yikes! What an adventure...and not in the good way. :P
-
My question for ASK BK DAY.
Since SAMI will be on a streaming service - will it be Emmy-eligible?
You bet it will be.
-
I have been known at times to cut my spaghetti before consuming. I'm sure that is anathema to many purists. But I do my own cutting.
DR Jane, do you scan menus for items that don't need to be cut?
I too prefer to cut my own spaghetti, but when wearing a cast and sling it is difficult ;D
-

It sure is pretty.
-
ChasSmith, it's a fantastic album - The Bad and the Beautiful and Too Late Blues are the first two tracks, the Tanglewood Concerto is wonderful as are the Three Ballads for Stan. The concerto is written by the amazing Eddie Sauter, the three ballads for Stan by Alec Wilder, the two movie themes by David Raksin. The cover photo by Avedon. Here's a little taste: https://youtu.be/PvDCobHX6EM
-
Back from bacon and eggs and toast, picking up a package and stuff.
-
If Monday didn't seem like Monday, I don't know WHAT to say about today. She of the Evil Eye comes on Saturday usually and now that's exactly what it seems like.

Amazing.
-
No day has felt like the day it actually is, to me, for the last two weeks.
-
Cute!
Even more so in person. From a distance, if you can't see the tail, it looks a bit like a beaver.
-
DR JANE I had never even heard of such an animal! Oh my.....Susan Gordon's father should have made a movie with it.
-
Glad you are home DR ELMORE.....something is definitely messed up with their system.
-
Although 56 x 2 is 112.
-
That is very exciting news MR BK. You may find yourself an overnight sensation.
-
DR JANE my sister picked up her two washed bowls today. I forgot to answer your question from the other day - the drop off was just a look in.....
We both wore masks today because there was some visiting going on.
Temp is 47 degrees and most of the s**w is gone.
-
I was watching Girls, Guns and Gangsters.....starring Miss Mamie Van Doren as the first part of the title.....Vi Victor, a singer held over for 5 months at a Las Vegas Lounge that looked sort of like the inside of a two car garage with tables and chairs in it.....
-
DR JANE I had never even heard of such an animal! Oh my.....Susan Gordon's father should have made a movie with it.
I laughed out loud and then told Keith who also laughed.

Right, good idea to wear masks right now.
It is 46 here, no rain :)

We went for our afternoon walk for the first time in days.

Well, our little creepy stalker has done her dirty business on the Tis the Season to Be Murdered Amazon page - how do we know it's her? Because every utterance is a repeat of the exact same utterances she's done on my other books, both on Goodreads and Amazon - every utterance. The joke is, she quotes whole passages of dialogue, criticizing them for being repetitive, when that's the entire point of the rhythm of the banter between Harry and Bernice. Go read it - there are several new reviews up. This woman is such a loser, so bitter, so obnoxious, and most of all, so sick in the head. If you're reading this, Barbara, you are as disgusting a human (and I use that word loosely) as I've ever come across. Actually, let's just say it - you're a pig. A real, grade-A, honest-to-goodness pig and yes, that was repetitive, too. Give us your thoughts about this pig, won't you?
-
And she has a new idiotic moniker, Fritzie White. So clever. Not. Pig.
-
>:( >:( >:(
-
If she doesn't like your books why the heck does she read them!!! What a sad horrible person.
-
Interesting that she actually gave it 3 stars and not just 1.
-
She did it on Some Days Are Murder, too - she wrote a novel there - go look. Same BS. What a sad, horrible person indeed. If you're reading this, Babs, you're a pig. No way to report it, either.
-
Of course, some could go on her books (if you want to call them that) and leave one-star reviews and just ape what she did. Except she doesn't write under her own name - and none of her books have ANY reviews. Here's an idea - can someone update their review and call her out - say she's a longtime stalker of the author and has done this kind of thing under a variety of different names both on Amazon and elsewhere and don't take it seriously.
-
Can someone do that for me?
-
And yes, isn't it fascinating that she hates Some Days Are Murder but just happens to buy its sequel. Fascinating mindset. And clearly buying the Kindle versions because the page count is completely different from the hard copies. Barbara, darling, if you're reading this, you're a pig.
-
She writes books?!?
-
DR Iris, I am very sorry to read Jamie Raskin has Lymphoma.
-
Well, I wouldn't call them books.
-
Under the coy name of Carolyn Minuscule. Barbara, if you're reading this, you're a pig. Oh, sorry, is that too much repetition for you?
-
Get me off this damn page.
-
Page six is waiting in the wings.
-
As am I.
-
Speaking of repetition.
-
I couldn’t access the site for a while.
-
Has anyone updated their review yet?
-
Anyone else have issues accessing the site?
-
Got a 5-disc set of Buster Keaton shorts. The first disc stars Roscoe Arbuckle, someone I just don’t get. Keaton in his scenes is funny.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Has anyone updated their review yet? Must call this woman out for who she is. Fritzie White my ASS.
-
Had a top sirloin for food - small, but good.
-
Good, but small.
-
Is there a bottom sirloin?
-
Is there a page six?
-
I believe in faeries.
-
And pigs.
-
There is bottom sirloin. Or so I am told at Brazilian steakhouses.
-
Well, I wouldn't call them books.
Maybe that is why I can't find anything by her.
-
There is a book called Carolyn Minuscule by Andrew Taylor.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Today has flown by, as did yesterday, and I still have not done my #1 priority. Sigh. Not geting much done this week. Think it could be due to burnout?
-
Recovery vibes to Singdaw, John G, TCB, Laura, Chas, and anyone else needing them.
-
Yes. Burnout.
-
Bruce I don't think a response should be made to the review. In my opinion it will just look bad for you. There is nothing in the review that looks like a stalker wrote it.
-
Sing, if you need a good cough syrup Boiron's Chestal with Honey is excellent. Be sure to buy the one with the honey.
-
While I don't like writing reviews I do use them for guidance. All the reviews can't be good, however, I can get a good feel from a mediocre review and decide if the reason for the review indicates I should avoid or if it is something I want to read. This review mentions banter. I like banter and other reviewers enjoyed it. I like reading about old LA.
-
Let’s move on …
-
Dry basement vibes to Vixmom. So sorry this happened again.
-
Koff & Kramp is the name of the drug store where Arbuckle works in this odd short, His Wedding Night. Keaton, for some strange reason, tries on a wedding gown.
-
No day has felt like the day it actually is, to me, for the last two weeks.
Me, too. I am convinced something is amiss in the heavens.
-
Actually, Jane, every single word in the "review" IS written by a stalker. Can't get away from her writing "style." It's just irritating that she does this and apparently will continue doing it until the day she dies. Sick in the head, seriously sick in the head. In the head she's sick. Couldn't be sicker in the head than ol' Barbara. Oops, more repetitious banter.
-
Stay negative, Jrand!
-
Page six has made its repetitive entrance.
-
Page seven is waiting in the wings.
-
Bruce, check your phone messages.
-
As am I.
-
As is the pig.
-
TTFN.
-
That is my mantra DR JEANNE.
-
I shall have to peruse these reviews later this evening.

All I am saying is that someone who doesn't know her history won't be able to tell. I suspect they won't believe it unless they already know the history or know you personally.
-
Thanks for the advice, DR Jeanne!
-
If someone is sick and a stalker and a pig, I'm not sure I want to do anything to be on their radar.
-
Sorry!
-
Why are pirates called pirates?
-
They just ARRRRRRR.
-
And here's one appropriate to the moment:
-
What did the lettuce say to the celery?
-
Quit stalking me!
-
Good evening.
-
Seeing bits and pieces of the Kennedy Center Honors, but I'll watch it taped later when I can forward through the commercials.
-
Did anyone else notice Paxlovid leaving a really bad taste in their mouth?
-
DR Laura - that is a known side effect, and rather unpleasant.
-
EIGHT!!
-
I would describe it as a metallic taste.
-
It goes away pretty quickly after Day 5.
-
I never read about side effects. I don't want to develop them because I heard about them.
-
That's probably because there are five days of pills.
-
That's a pretty good plan, DR Laura.
-
~~~CONTINUED HEALING VIBES TO YOU~~~ and also to DR ChasSmith!!!!!
-
I'm up and moving around today, so I guess I am feeling better. I went over to the church today to cover up the soundboard. It has been raining, and I guess the sound guy forgot to cover it Sunday. The roof leaks over it sometimes.
-
~~~FINGERS CROSSED VIBES~~~ for DR Jrand72 and anyone else affected!!!!!!
-
That sounds like a good idea, DR Laura. That could be pretty devastating.
-
:)
-
I don't think I'm going to last much longer.
-
The law of diminishing returns.
-
But for the good of the cause, I shall try to mush on.
-
Corn mush.
-
Mush ado about nothing.
-
Did I mention the law of diminishing returns?
-
Elon Mush.
-
This was kind of a fun read.

Lucky #199
-
Interesting DR singdaw.
-
But still a long slog to Page Nine.
-
Nine - wouldn't that make a great title for a film, and then a musical?
-
But it's EIGHT we're aiming for at the moment.
-
NINE would just gravy.
-
Mashed potatoes and gravy. Yum!
-
Now it's just jibberish.
-
Jibberish and mush.
-
That's what it has come to, folks.
-
Time to do the dishes and go to bed.
-
EIGHT!
-
Did anyone else notice Paxlovid leaving a really bad taste in their mouth?
I have read it does that and that the side effect should go away.
-
Good night, friends.
-
DR Laura I am glad you are feeling better. I hope tomorrow brings greater improvement.
-
Craig is now negative, if only he felt better.

It looks like a beaver except for the tail
-
A forthcoming cookbook on vegan Middle Eastern cooking is called "Veganistan." I thought that was clever.
Very!
-
EIGHT!!
Great counting!
-
It looks like a beaver except for the tail
We have beavers here which is why we need to see the tail to know for sure what we are looking at.
-
Today I was asked to cover a house closing
-
Looking through the file I noticed the name of one of the buyers seemed familiar
-
When I checked ids I saw his age was correct for what I suspected , even if his face wasn’t familiar
-
I waited until the end of the closing as we were all packing up to say
-
“. “ I have to ask, in the summer if 1975 did you work at ….
-
Wife answered first l..” yes! We both did!”
-
We exchange maiden names, which we recognize instantly, recalling some adventures from that summer
-
I hadn’t seen them since September 1975
-
Funny old world
-
I visited Bill today
-
He is looking and sounding much better
-
He’s now working on climbing stairs
-
Funny old world.
-
He hopes to come home next week
-
He’s now working on climbing stairs
Excellent.

He hopes to come home next week
Fingers crossed.

Funny old world
I enjoyed your story.

Mom is making progress but not ready to go back to assisted living.
-
She’ll have a month at the rehab center.
-
Onward.
-
Nine!
-
Speaking of Nine, I got two parts of a Maury Yeston present today. Maury Sings Yeston and the new December Songs featuring Elmore’s favorite. The third disc, Yeston’s Tom Sawyer ballet, is on back order.
-
But I’m watching Roscoe Arbuckle and Buster Keaton in Out West.
-
Anybody read Matthew Quick’s We Are the Light? I haven’t read him before. He wrote Silver Linings Playbook.
-
I haven't read it.
-
DR VIXMOM I loved your story.
-
Okay, I am over my ire and my ire is over me.
-
It just ired me, seeing that. The pig's been silent for a while. One always hopes that the obsession will go away. But apparently...
-
Can't really find anything to watch.
-
Maybe I'll revert to a Blu-ray.
-
Maybe Blu-ray will revert to me.
-
DR Iris, I am very sorry to read Jamie Raskin has Lymphoma.
I heard about that, too. :(
-
I couldn’t access the site for a while.
Neither could I. Glad it's back!
-
Is there a bottom sirloin?
Maybe a P.D.Q. Bach-esque bottom-of-the-barrel sirloin? ;)
-
I believe in faeries.
I do, too. I have to...I know so many! ;D
-
If someone is sick and a stalker and a pig, I'm not sure I want to do anything to be on their radar.
Exactly. ::)
-
At the end of the first disc of Keaton shorts, there was an extra showing how they restored some lost works of his. Its six minutes was better than all of Bogdanovich’s Buster documentary.
-

Switching channels to a more modern movie. Son Takes a Holiday from 1930. Constance Bennett and Basil Rathbone. Pre-code.

Cool!

Mom is making progress but not ready to go back to assisted living.
She’ll have a month at the rehab center.
~~~Continued Recovery Vibes for John's Mom!!~~~
-
Thanks, George.
-
Constance Bennett, so funny in Topper, was rather too solemn and serious in Sin Takes a Holiday. It could have been better if it had just been a little lighter.
-
I’m ready for bed.
-
Good night, all.
-
A lull. ::)
-
;)
-
Well, our last (and added) performance of Jacob Marley's Christmas Carol that was supposed to happen this Friday has been canceled. :-\
-
One of the actors and a family member caught the Covid. :P
-
PAGE TEN DANCE!!
-
So, after work today, I went to the theater at the mall and brought my stuff home.
-
All the concessions, the sodas, the candy bars, the till that still had $60 in it, etc....took it all.
-
I don't know what TAO will do next, but Broadway Olympia Productions is going to do Baby.
-
I'm really looking forward to seeing that.
-
I'm really looking forward to seeing that.
It should open in about nine months.
-
Tomorrow, I have the day off for two reasons.
-
All the concessions, the sodas, the candy bars, the till that still had $60 in it, etc....took it all.
Who gets the $60.00?
-
Buster Keaton's Shorts - that's the title of my next novel.
-
Tomorrow, I have the day off for two reasons.
And they are?
-
One is so that I can use up my vacation and be under 240 hours before going into the new year, and also to get an assessment on my car window to find out how much it's going to cost to repair it.
-
I'm really looking forward to seeing that.
It should open in about nine months.
:))
-
All the concessions, the sodas, the candy bars, the till that still had $60 in it, etc....took it all.
Who gets the $60.00?
Me. I put it in as the starting amount before any sales.
-
Buster Keaton's Shorts - that's the title of my next novel.
Or perhaps, MURDER IN BUSTER KEATON’S SHORTS?
-
:o
-
;D
-
We haven’t had a good MURDER IN….. in a couple of years.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've read them.
-
They're quite long.
-
But I was never bored.
-
when in doubt, eat some Fruity Snacks.
-
Cool.
-
Page eleven is waiting in the wings.
-
As am I.
-
Will we make it?
-
Is the Pope Episcopalian?
-
