Well, you've read the notes, the notes were up to speed, and now it is time for you to post until the up to speed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ENTELECHY!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Wrote another three and a half pages and I'm done for this evening.
-
Wrote another three and a half pages and I'm done for this evening.
Nice.
-
BK, do you have a timeline for when you expect to reach certain points, or is it that it'll take however long it takes?
-
It always takes what it takes, but I do try and do at least ten pages a day these days. This one's averaging more. I also usually have a general idea of how many manuscript pages something will run, but I have no idea with this one yet.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Is "smoky eye" related to "side eye"? Can a side eye be smoky, or a smoky eye side?
-
And the word of the day is: ENTELECHY!
Used in a sentence:
I don't need no damned ENTELECHY.
-
Sorry you had to cancel your appointment, DR TCB.
-
Several years ago, when Thatch finally decided that he no longer feared and hated me, he began showing his affection by sleeping with me every night. I would ask, "Thatch, ready for bed?" and he'd jump on on the bed, trot to the upper left corner of the mattress and settle in.
Over the pandemic, he stopped doing that. Occasionally on a really cold night I'd find him sleeping next to me, but for the most part, he seemed to like sleeping in my computer chair or the cat tree. Lately, he's returned to sleeping in his old spot.
-
I did not sleep well last night, but the cats did. I had a hard time settling and getting comfortable, and I was up too many times.
-
DR TCB, I also have a problem with too much salt in my system.
-
I must see Joshie today and turn in this work I've finished. I'm planning on making the trip to City Center, and I hope it goes better than yesterday's failed trip.

~~~CONTINUED MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for BK!!!!!!!!
-
And ~~~WRITING VIBES~~~ too, of course....
-
BK, regarding Sami, during editing when you want to change one shot of a line out for another take, do you have a journal of all the takes to refer to, or is everything just stored in your head?
-
i saved 15 per
cent on my insurance by
switching to haiku
-
;)
-
Good one, DR elmore3003.
-
~~~TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for you, today.
-
Good morning.
-
And another fine morning you've gotten me into!
-
It's gg to be a gray, stormy day here in SC.
-
I don't recall any specific dreams, but I woke up thinking about stupid TV commercials.
One of the worst is for a drug used to combat the symptoms of TED...or, Thyroid Eye Disease.
What bugs me is how the women pronounce thyroid, which is correctly pronounced THIGH-ROYD.
In the commercials they say THIGH-rid. I suppose the ROYD seems somehow related to the HEMO variety.
-
The first commercial featured a blond woman named Jeannie, who is seen throughout the commercial wearing sunglasses...in each shot, she removes a pair only to reveal another pair.
Ultimately, we see her without. But the commercial offers us the opportunity to visit the drug's website for "before and after" pictures of Jeannie.
AS IF
-
I recognize TED as a major problem that deserves a successful treatment.
But the TV commercials just make me want to FWOW UP.
-
Rant over.
-
For the fourth day of 2023, I have started Page 2.
-
I have no idea what I will be doing today, but I'm willing to bet it won't be nearly as much as I should do.
-
We are expecting snow all day again today.
-
Well, I've decided to go to City Center. If I start to feel puny, I'll come home with a bundle of scores to proofread here.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I slept in a little late and had the predictably crazy dream to prove it. Nothing I haven't had before, just another variation on the usual circumstances: it's time to leave someplace that I and a number of other people have been at for a week or so, and I'm trying to assemble my various belongings, figure out where my car is, that kind of thing...and it's never quite under control and time's a'wastin'. I really need to think through the similar times of my life to see if I can come up with an actual source for this.
-
Have a good trip to City Center, DR Elmore. The project sounds like fun.
-
Up to speed is what I need to get today.
-
Today is the warmest of our January Thaw, reaching 60 or above. Tomorrow and Friday it's back to 50, then it's probably back to more normal winter temps but I haven't looked any farther ahead yet.
-
We don't follow any particular schedule or tradition on it, but we're taking the ornaments off the tree and getting it out of here today. It was a very nice tree, but smaller than our usual one, which was all we felt like dealing with this time, and it's also shedding needles like crazy. So, it's time.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I had a dream about being a detective working on a murder in a local philharmonic. The bodies were being hauled off in the standing bass case. Turns out the bass player’s SO was hauling them off, leaving the bass player with an alibi. She was in on it, too.
I called it Orchestra Knives, a play on Orchestra Wives, a favorite Fox musical.

Wordle 5, Phoodle 2
-
I am not ready to stir just yet.
-
Would someone buy me a winning Mega Millions ticket, please?
-
I’d share.
-
We are having an hellacious thunderstorm right now, and we are under a tornado watch until 2 p.m., EST.
-
Stay safe vibes for Ron.
-
Good morning!
-
Wordle: 4/6
-
Wednesday morning greetings! I had a couple of commitments away from home yesterday and survived them both. Had to take a nap when I got home.
-
Now I have 3 blank days on the calendar. Looking forward to some desk work and, maybe, some crafting.
-
Gosh and golly!
Town tornado warning sounded for five minutes.
-
I hope I don't find myself in Kansas in a little while.
-
Take care, DR Ron!
-
DR Ron Pulliam, if you get blown off track, just click your heels together three times.
-
I'll tell you what's up to speed; we are speeding toward a page turn.
-
It is ever closer.
-
Of course, objects in the mirror are closer than they appear.
-
But we don't mind.
-
When we're on page THREE.

The orange one has asked the GOP to fully back McCarthy today.
It will be interesting to see if his endorsement carries any weight.
-
The orange one has asked the GOP to fully back McCarthy today.
It will be interesting to see if his endorsement carries any weight.
Sadly, it probably does, because the no votes came from election deniers.
-
Starting first season of Schitt’s Creek. Have never seen this show.
-
My overseas BO is always exaggerated.
-
No tornado vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
-
Trip vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Continued writing vibes for MR BK.

Where is DR JANE?

DR CHAS SMITH your dream is a typical one for the start of the new year as we all struggle to get it together.....it also tells us that you will find something that was lost - that you had forgotten about.

DR JOHN G - the Dream-O-Matic 6000 (used previously today on the dream of DR CHAS SMITH) says that your dream indicates an attention to detail that you wish others in your orbit also had - and that also someone you work with is NOT carrying the weight as should be.

My question for ASK BK Day:
What word processing program do you use for your writing? I am assuming APPLE has its own called Apple something or other.....but perhaps you use something a bit more exotic.
-
From John:
Henry Baur and Robert Lynen were both in this and Carrottop. In reading the notes, I discovered Baur, an amazing actor, was tortured by the Gestapo, who believed he was a Jew. He died under mysterious circumstances, which many say was brought about by the Nazis.
:(
-
DR Jrand I hope you sort out the problem with your Humana Visa Account.
-
DR TCB I am sorry you had to cancel your lunch and doctor plans. Has the swelling gone down?
-
Look what I just checked out from my local library! :D

Congratulations, DR Elmore!

I am back from picking up a pair of headlight bulbs at Autozone. One light is out, but I always replace both when it happens. I got the conventional bulbs, but I think I'm going to go back and exchange these for the next level of whiteness and brightness. Live large, I say.
It's also high time I gave those headlight lenses their long overdue toothbrushing! That in itself will improve matters, and I now have the power drill kit I'd intended to get originally for polishing those things up.
-
Four!
-
I don’t think I should binge watch Schitt’s Creek. It’s very funny. But it’s better in smaller doses.
-
Thanks DR GINNY.
-
Yes DR TCB - I guess it's a new benefit with my Humana Medicare Advantage Plan....
But I have not received an email response as yet.
-
BUT I just checked the site and now I am activated! So I guess that's my answer.
And my questions are answered there! Very nice.

I don’t think I should binge watch Schitt’s Creek. It’s very funny. But it’s better in smaller doses.
When you say binge watch, is that all in one day or one episode a day?
-
I think of binge watching as multiple episodes on the same day. I know people who consider an episode a day, vs waiting a week in-between episodes.
-
BUT I just checked the site and now I am activated! So I guess that's my answer.
And my questions are answered there! Very nice.
Good, and without needing to talk to someone.
-
Fifth time is not the charm for McCarthy.
I saw the headline when I turned on my computer.
-
Listening to these idiot GOP House members tout their candidate for Speaker and bash Biden and Democrats makes my tummy hurt. Each one implies "whatever you heard last will be more intelligent than my contribution."
-
Good news from DR elmore3003!
-
Good news from DR Jrand72!

And good news from DR John G. yesterday.

So we're on a roll.

Very nice DR GEORGE.
-
Sixth time wasn't the charm either.
Republican Victoria Spartz from Indiana voted "Present."
-
Didn't Orange Face tell his toadies to vote for McCarthy? Jordan & Greene did.....but this new guy Donalds got 20 votes.
-
Here is my question I know that the experts on HHW will know the answer.
Since the new members have to be sworn in by the Speaker of the House - and there is NO Speaker of the House.....why are they voting? Or is there a rule of law that permits them to do so at the opening of the Congress?
Perhaps the swearing in is just ceremonial.
-
I am asking with alacrity.
I messaged Tyler Peck, but she didn't know.
-
I think of binge watching as multiple episodes on the same day. I know people who consider an episode a day, vs waiting a week in-between episodes.
I was going to watch all in one day. I have watched five or six.
-

At least it wasn’t a lie on her part.

Nice autograph. George.

That is saying a lot for a Republican.

Vibes for the mother of DR JOHN G.
-
I just ordered stamps online for the first time. It was much easier than at the post office where I have trouble hearing my stamp design options.
-
I got cute little elephants.
-
It beats the Little Mo tennis player stamps I ended up with at the post office the last time I purchased stamps.
-
It was cold and windy with the possibility of rain so I took a shower instead of walking.
-
By the time I was done it was cold, windy, and pouring rain.
-
I am not sorry about my decision.
-
DR JohnG, how soon will you learn more about your mother's current situation? I hope she's okay.
-
~~~PRAYERS AND POSITIVE VIBES~~~ for the mother of DR John G.
Are those the stamps you asked for, DR Jane, or is that what you ended up getting because you couldn't hear?
I'm up, I'm up - I could not fall asleep and didn't until seven - so eight hours but my day is totally screwy now and I doubt I'll get more than ten pages done at some point, but we shall see. I have to futz and finesse in a few moments. The good news is a Major Miracle happened so that will alleviate some stress.
-
BK, regarding Sami, during editing when you want to change one shot of a line out for another take, do you have a journal of all the takes to refer to, or is everything just stored in your head?
Marshall has all the takes of a scene in a folder in the Avid, so it's really simple to call up another take and check it out, then swap it if we think it's better.
-
My question for ASK BK Day:
What word processing program do you use for your writing? I am assuming APPLE has its own called Apple something or other.....but perhaps you use something a bit more exotic.
I'm a Word for Mac guy - always.
-
Good news on the major miracle, BK.
-
Starting Purple Noon, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen. They misspelled Nino Rota’s name in the credits. They have Nino Rotta. Either way, the score is lovely.
-
I loved Patricia Highsmith’s novel and the remake, The Talented Mr. Ripley. Since do many used the title to describe George Santos or whatever that liar’s name is, I thought I’d give it a try.
-
Vibes for DR John G’s mother!
Thank y’all. No word.
I only have two stamps here. One is a pretty LOVE stamp and the other is the ugly Mo one.
I have those and the Peanuts stamps especially for sending mail to our granddaughters and great nieces and nephews.
I also like to order stamps online because most post office clerks get surly when you want “specials.”
Surly Clerks sounds like it should be the title of something-or-other.
Congrats to MR BK on the Major Miracle.
Luka Garza was in for the first quarter:
11 points and 5 rebounds.
-
DR JOHN G I love Purple Noon....even more than I love The Talented Mr Ripley.....
Of course....Alain Delon.....what's not to like?
-
I decided to take my shower tonight since my doctor's appointment is tomorrow.
Does it cost extra to order stamps by mail?
-
What are these fools trying to prove? Why are they interrupting the work of the House?
For me this is just another January 6......from even more on the inside.
-
Good evening.
-
It took ninety minutes to futz and finesse - lots of little things, then a bunch of additions, a few subtractions, but I was pretty happy with it. I added three pages' worth of new stuff so we'll see how many pages I do and whether I can do twelve or not. Certainly, I'd have to write for most of the evening to do that many, so we'll see.
-
Does it cost extra to order stamps by mail?
It was $1.50, however, the forever stamps were the original price vs the current price. The small extra charge was worth it to me. I only ordered two 20 stamp books.
-
I have nothing to report.
-
Maybe that is a good thing ;)
-
Tonight we watched one of the new episodes of Midsomer Murders.
Good night, friends.
Got ahead of myself there.
Had a nice dinner with friends. Well, the conversation was nice. The Asian tapas were s bit too fussy for me.
Time to finish Purple Noon.
-
Wouldn’t it be fun if 6 moderate Republicans switched their vote next round to Jeffries?
I was thinking that exact same thing!
-
I girded my loins and wrote seven more pages for a total of ten and I'll try to do another five after I finish the movie I've started.
-
Congrats on the writing MR BK!
-
Thanks DR JANE.....I always try to go to the Post Office on a weekday mid morning.....it's usually not very crowded.
Although once there was a lady mailing QUILTS to people all over the U.S. for her church.....and she had put the same zip code on them all even though they were going to different states.
-
That sounds about right DR VIXMOM.
And yes that would be a wonderful moment!
We'll find out at noon tomorrow.
Strange dream this morning. Susan Stroman had a new best-selling novel. It was called THE MISFITS. It was the Arthur Miller screenplay rewritten as a Marx Brothers comedy.
-
I haven’t read it, but if it turns out that Chico is playing the Clark Gable part, instead of Groucho, as everyone expects; then I believe that vixmom should get a special thank you in the Author’s Notes.
