Well, you've read the notes, the notes were distracting, and now it is time for you to post until the distracting cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GARNER!
-
Well, this is a pretty cool article: Broadway Olympia Productions ‘Taking a Break’ (https://olyarts.org/2023/01/02/broadway-olympia-productions-taking-a-break/)
It talks about how Theater Artists Olympia is taking over the Broadway Olympia Productions' performance space. :)
-
Finished two more pages - so, did get to twenty and I'm pretty happy with those two pages already. I took a little break and watched an HBO-Max documentary from 2017 called Spielberg - two and a half hours long about his beginning and all his movies and I liked the stuff about his childhood much more here than in The Fabelmans.
-
I just put that Spielberg documentary in my watchlist yesterday!
-
A coinkydink, as DR George would say.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
A fairly good night of sleep, for a change.
-
DR George, I was having those same problems yesterday trying to post some images here.
-
To the relief of some, no doubt.
-
Glad to read that BK's writing is continuing apace.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept in this morning, and I am grateful to the three devils with whom I live for allowing me to do so. Yesterday, was a physically stressful day, involving four trips to the basement to do the laundry, which is physically exhausting. I've asked the building management several times now to replace the missing chair in the laundry room, but the shits have done nothing. Since I cannot6 sit with a book and wait, I'm forced to push that walker too many times, and it's hell for my legs.
-
After that, I had an Amazon Fresh delivery, and that was hellish between getting up and down from the floor, trying to maneuver in limited space, and trying to keep Stella out of the mess. By 5:00 I was literally on my last legs when I finished cleaning up my dinner and the cats'. By 5:30, when I lay down, I was done in,
-
So, I decided I would sleep in this morning, and I did. I have work on Dear World and the ballet for to day and weekend, and I plan on an easy day.
-
I do need to book Access-a-Ride for tomorrow morning's trip to my pharmacy.
-
Hello, all.
-
Slept rather wall. Had some dreams that elude me this morning.
-
It simply cannot be Friday, January 6th. This year is just zoomng by, and I haven't quite gotten into the 2023 mode yet.
-
They laughed when I sat down at the piano...

Donald Trump must be beside himself today.
Yesterday, his name was put into nomination for Speaker of the House by Florida Rep. Matt (loudmouth) Gaetz, a Congessman who has done nothing in Congress but cause disruption.
Nevertheless, Trump got one vote in three rounds of voting yesterday.
That makes him a three-time LOSER for a job that, should Biden and Harris be removed from office, would see him become president. Yes, the Speaker of the House is 2nd succession to the presidency should catastrophe beset the president and vice president.
Think on that if you need a good chilling moment or two.
-
DR elmore3003, that is terrible. Have you considered a light canvas folding chair that you can carry with you?
-

They actually make walkers that can be used as seats. They are called Rollators.
-
I do not know what is on my agenda for today.
I do not actually HAVE an agenda, but there are things I could do!
I find the roll calls for speaker of the House to be far more amusing than cleaning, washing and dusting.
-
Good morning

I slept reasonably well

Hope you all did too

DR singdaw, lugging a walker holding a huge bag of laundry and supplies is enough. I have no wish to tote a chair with all of it. Until the building management sacked our last incompetent super and the new crew cleaned out the laun dry/trash room, repainted it, and got it looking spiffy, there were always chairs for the tenants doing laundry. I want replacements.

Weird dreams in which Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr were stuck someplace where I was living (not this house) and agreed to be interviewed. It went on for more than a day. They were pleasant. We got along great. And we stayed friends after they left.

Good morning, all.

I’ve always intended to, but I’ve never yet seen Postcards From the Edge.

TOD
Something or other inspired me to watch PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE last night, which was only my second time seeing it. I had been okay with it my first time a few years ago, even though I really do like Paul Thomas Anderson’s movies, but this time it blew me away. I’m now inspired to take a trip through the films of his that I have here, starting with the first, HARD EIGHT. It’s been too long since I’ve seen them, and for me, they only get better the more I learn to see in them. I have yet to see his last couple, so I have further treats coming later.

Read this this morning and found it interesting:
There's a technical name for why ideas happen in the shower. The "default mode network" is a pattern of measurable brain activity that happens when we're unfocused. When the brain goes into idle mode (reduced activity), this part of the brain actually becomes MORE active. What does this default mode network do? Research is ongoing, but part of it seems to be making connections, which is associated with curiosity and creativity.

This evening a friend is throwing himself a little birthday bash by having an informal open house type of gathering for friends to drop in at their convenience. They’re supplying food, drinks, cigars for those inclined, and they only ask that we bring some kind of appropriate food items that can be donated to a local food bank or homeless shelter. I look forward to it, but I sure wish the weather had cooperated. This will be outdoors on their deck, and it’s supposed to be raining off and on, and chilly. Time to get out the thermals.

Good morning!

Friday. Have the representatives given themselves the day off or are they back for more shenanigans?

Today I got a flyer in the mail encouraging me to take Karate lessons....it will cost me less than $2.50 a day!

I think a new season of RuPaul's Drag Race starts on MTV tonight.

Fromm Singdaw:
So glad you had a nice visit, DR Jane. And the dog was an extra bonus.
Thanks, and it was. She was super excited. Funny too as she wouldn't pet him from the front when he was looking at her, only on the back when I also pet him.
-
DR Laura they are now in the mountains with friends on a ski trip. We will see them again Monday morning before they go to the airport.
-
George it seems odd they didn't leave a message for you to call back.
-
Thanks John.
-
DR Vixmom I am glad you are improving. Vibes today is even better.

That is sad news about Maureen McGovern.

It is a chilling thought about the importance of who is the speaker of the house. I don't understand how Trump can even qualify to be nominated.

The day outside is beautiful.

"Just because an auteur can make a six-hour movie doesn't mean they should."
Great quote from a review of something called Copenhagen Cowboy.

Of course because I ordered stamps online we went to the post office today.
-
Of course they had the elephant stamps I purchased, and on display along with other stamps.
-
What they did not have were the love stamps I planned to purchase ;D
-
Futzed and finessed for ninety minutes and was thankfully okay with yesterday's writing - I did make several deletions, moved an entire section to where it made more sense, and made several additions. I've written five new pages beyond that and made an important style decision that I now have to go back and implement and that will take a couple of hours. But I'll finish today's writing before I do that.
-
Now I must take a break, visit the ATM, and then get something to eat.

And, of course, for DR TCB as well.

Speaking of DR vixmom - well, I wouldn't want her to try this right now, but once she's back to 100%, I hope she'll consider incorporating this into her

Are we back to Thingdaw’s thong?

Watching My Brilliant Career for the first time in ages. I saw it twice when it opened. Judy Davis is incandescent. Sam Neill is impossibly handsome.

I’m dining on some sesame garlic noodles. Quite good.
But the real feat was opening the lids on several new jars. I held the jar securely in my left hand, using all five fingers.
-
Thingdaw’s thong?
It's the thought that counts.
-
Noodles! I would love some Thai peanut noodles or some cold sesame noodles right about now.
-
Oodles of noodles.

It's what's for dinner.

The Rabbi Slurps Spaghetti. My favorite book title of the day.

A slow day for posting.

Is there some sort of disability rights group in your area? Your building management seems oblivious to tenants' needs -- disabled or not -- but someone might be willing to go to bat for you. Your request is so reasonable, so doable.
Vibes you find a solution.

I do not know what is on my agenda for today.
I do not actually HAVE an agenda, but there are things I could do!

Ah, but the cleaning and laundry do not cause me any further disgust.

I don't know much about Ringo, but from what I've seen about Paul he seems open and friendly and your dream seems realistic.

So, that is some progress.
Very good!
-
Eight pages so far and I have to take a break. Because of the style of this book, where I could whip through seven or eight pages pretty quickly in a normal book, this one is endless in trying to get through a page - you'll understand why when you read it.
-
Of course they had the elephant stamps I purchased, and on display along with other stamps.
I loved the elephant stamps. I never think about buying stamps online, but should.

Yes. I should rewatch it.

Elmore, I forgot to ask : Can your doctor prescribe a walker like the one Laura posted a link to? Medicare covered the price for Mom’s.
-
The Rabbi Slurps Spaghetti. My favorite book title of the day.
In the webinar I attended yesterday we were discussing the power of belief systems. Apparently some people believe in flying spaghetti monsters. Seriously. Nothing to do with the rabbi, though.
-
Oh, my day? Acupuncture, Trader Joe's, then stopped for a falafel. Lots of traffic (??) and restaurants were busier than usual. It's our first sunny day in several days, which probably had something to do with it.
-
I’m not sure I saw My Brilliant Career before in the same way as I saw it today. Very feminist in the best way. It’s the classic tale of a person who puts career dreams over love. In this case, it’s a woman. And Sam Neill is the eye candy. He’s filmed the way Rita Hayworth or Lana Turner was filmed. And when the couple finally kisses, the camera is on his besotted face. It’s a simple role reversal and it’s wonderful.
-
Elmore, I forgot to ask : Can your doctor prescribe a walker like the one Laura posted a link to? Medicare covered the price for Mom’s.
It was quite reasonably priced, too, I thought.

Glad to hear your hand news DR JOHN G.

Those deadheads thought they could keep us up until now for a 15th vote and then thought they could adjourn and run out until Monday....ain't happening, fools.

Just a minute......just a minute......

Motion to adjourn is defeated....15th vote coming up.

From an interview with the producer of Beetlejuice.
What made you confident that you could return to Broadway?
The fans. Our cast album has streamed over 1.6 billion streams and individual tracks 2.9 billion times. Very few cast albums take off. You have your Hamiltons, you have your Dear Evan Hansens. We reached 100 million streams in 20 weeks. Just for comparison, Hamilton reached that in 18 weeks and Evan Hansen in 37 weeks. So these were things showing us that people really liked our show and that there was an audience. The Netherlings [the name of the musical’s fans] had become ambassadors for us, and they were pushing us to come back. It felt like it didn’t have an ending. It didn’t feel like it ended properly.
-
Not sales, but streams.
-
Makes me feel older than I am.
-
2:20 into TAR and we get some action.
-
It is ended.
-
I am going to try to finish my book, The Song of the Cell, a fascinating look at how cells work from Siddhartha Mukherjee. I probably didn’t get half of it, but it is holding my attention.

Good night, all.

Finished with my viewing and have written 13 pages, so I might get to fifteen if I'm feeling up to it, although I have to be in bed by one because of the ten o'clock work session, which I completely forgot about.

No, George?

No, Iris?

No, TCB?

No, wait!!

I know it wasn’t the demon rum.

Which would go with the devil’s food cake.

Very good news, John!

I didn't...and I didn't muck it up, either. ;)

Shower is done.
-
A couple of good ideas in the shower, including one that is kind of a major change but is easy to implement and would only require changing a couple of paragraphs. I'll run that change by Muse Margaret before doing it but I think it will solve a few problems.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
George came and went.
-
I've seen the new notes.
-
I've read the new notes.
-
I wrote the new notes.
-
But before I go change the topic...
-
Perhaps we'll let page eight make its grand entrance.
-
No TCB again, no George no one here but us chickens.
I'm here.
-
I feel it's close.
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
And page eight has arrived.
-
We played three games of Phase 10, and I won two of them! :D
-
George has gone down a rabbit hole or just doesn't care about late-night visits anymore so I'm afraid page six will be the new normal.
You should know by now that on Fridays I play cards at my mom's.

There is always time...usually.
