Well, you've read the notes, you know that Muse Margaret Called, and now it is time for you to post until the calling cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: JOCULAR!
-
Almost made it to Page Nine last night. ;)
-
I was just about to post this:
I actually drank a bottle of water today.
I've been drinking a couple of bottles of water a day at work...but that's just during the work week. I've gotten flavor enhancers, which really do help.

What are flavor enhancers?
They're concentrated flavors that usually add no calories, but are added to bottled (usually) water to make them easier to drink. Things like this:

Or:

-
Things like that. You quirt a little bit of the stuff into your bottle, and can even mix and match flavors for more options.
-
I've never squirted anything in a bottle, if you get my meaning.
-
Did the fifteen pages and three beyond that, so a bit less to do today, which is good.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Hugs, DR TCB.
-
Many, many hugs.
-
Oodles.
-
:)
-
Very happy to hear about the positive reception of the first pages of the new book.
-
I haven't received the new book yet. Should I file a PayPal dispute?
-
I blame Tiler Peck.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well. I was up too many times, but I finally had a dream I remember sorta. Steve Sondheim came to visit, and I was living in a large apartment with many rooms. At one point he left to say hello to someone in another room. I had a copy of a photo or painting that he hadn't seen in years and I taught him how to use some device like a cell phone to look at other works by the same artist. Then he left to see this other person, but when he came back, it was ballet dancer Jacques d'Amboise. I told him I knew his daughter Charlotte, and we visited. I had lots of questions about Balanchine ad City Ballet.
-
Today I need to pay a bill, print a few things, and work on the ballet. I must call Access-a-Ride for tomorrow's trips as well.
-
:)
-
Last night I watched the first episode of an 8-part BBC miniseries Troy: Fall of a City. It's not bad, but not good enough, and I found the casting odd and unsettling. It is the first production of the Trojan War, to my knowledge, to actually incorporate Homer's gods and goddesses as characters, but it didn't grab me, like the 1950s film Helen of Troy, with Rossana Podesta and Jacques Sernas - still my favorite Helen and Paris, in which the gods are only invoked, or actually reading the Iliad, in which the gods bicker, fret, connive, and make fools of themselves like feuding neighbors.
-
Good morning!

Wordle: 4/6
-
Good morning, all!
-
Hugs for Tom!
-
Very happy to hear about the positive reception of the first pages of the new book.
Me, too.
-
I haven't received the new book yet. Should I file a PayPal dispute?
I filed already. Waiting for a response.
-
Onward!
-
Two!
-
Dance lesson was supposed to have been at 11. But Joy has spent several hours this morning in the ER. Her husband’s back is giving him grief.
-
Wordle 2, Phoodle 6

I like Daddy Long Legs, but I especially love Something’s Gotta Give. The color on my DVD is a little too brown, as I recall.
-
Happy Sunday to everyone. There's a brand new Broadway Radio Show up on the site for your listening pleasure. I am joined by singer/actress Mia Pinero to chat about her career and her album Growing Up (which was on my list of the Top 10 Vocalist Recordings of 2022!). Mia is a delight and has a gorgeous voice, which she will soon be showing off on Broadway as part of the cast of the new Josh Groban revival of Sweeney Todd. Mia is part of the ensemble as well as the understudy for Johanna and the Beggar Woman. Enjoy!!!

I have now been able to enjoy DR George's starring performance in A Murder is Announced. (Thank you, DR George!)
A very good production, and DR George is (was) great!
-
Such a lot of lines.
-
Better you than me, kid.
-
Anyway, glad that you had this opportunity, and that you could share the experience with all of us. Thank you!
-
I think this guy had one too many hot cocoas.
-
Great news in the notes.....looking forward to the new book!
-
Vibes for DR TCB.
-
Sunday afternoon greetings! We had a little trip to Oxford, OH, yesterday for a New Year open house at the bed & breakfast owned by our friends Katie and Mike. Their daughter and our son grew up together and now she and her husband are the resident innkeepers.
-
DR TCB, you're in my thoughts...
-
Post Deleted.
Cranberries!

A very good production, and DR George is (was) great!
DR George, I want a DVD, too!
-
Dance class canceled.
-
So, I imagine a slow day of watching movies. Maybe some reading.
-
Watched Whit Stillman’s Damsels in Distress first. A little Greta Gerwig goes a little too much for me.
-
Now watching Cooley High, which I somehow missed. Fun stuff.
-
DR elmore3003, to save DR George some effort, I could send you my copy.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Subbed a church service on short notice this morning.
Seems my friend the church music director cut a finger, SLICING AND DICING. No joke.
-
DR George: I completely forgot to ask, but I'd love to see the DVD as well. No hurry, just whenever it's convenient. Thank you!
-
Yikes. Sounds painful, ChasSmith.
-
I didn't ask if he'd been MINCING, too.
-
I think I am going to make the Cincinnati chili recipe I posted the other day.
-
An organist friend of mine lost part of a finger on a mandoline. Yikes.
-
I didn't ask if he'd been MINCING, too.
No mincing at HHW.
-
That sounds good, DR John G.
-
Three!
-
I think I am going to make the Cincinnati chili recipe I posted the other day.
That looked interesting, but I've still got a few cans of both Skyline and Gold Star I need to use before they go bad. And they do eventually go bad, I can tell you from sad, very sad, experience.
-
Onward!
-
Guess we are already on.
-
These free-range tubers are getting out of control.
-
I have now been able to enjoy DR George's starring performance in A Murder is Announced. (Thank you, DR George!)
A very good production, and DR George is (was) great!
Thanks so much, Singdaw! That's very kind of you to say!
-
Such a lot of lines.
Yup...more than I've ever had to memorize before!

You got it!

DR elmore3003, to save DR George some effort, I could send you my copy.
Don't worry about it, Singdaw. I still have it all set up and ready to make new copies. Larry, do you a DVD or Blu-ray?

Plain DVD, please.

From Bruce:
I actually drank a bottle of water today.
WOW! Keep up the good work and stop drinking your diet crap.
-
DR TCB I hope you can find an alternate to surgery to relieve the pain in your hands.
-
Very happy to hear about the positive reception of the first pages of the new book.
Same here.
-
Dance lesson was supposed to have been at 11. But Joy has spent several hours this morning in the ER. Her husband’s back is giving him grief.
Vibes to her husband.
-
DR Vixmom I hope your back is much, much better today.
-
Chili is on the stove cooking down.
-
Subbed a church service on short notice this morning.
Seems my friend the church music director cut a finger, SLICING AND DICING. No joke.
I hope the finger wasn't sliced off :(
-
I know we have Penzey’s fans here. There’s another spice place called Penderey’s. They have a Worcestershire powder that made it into the pot.
-
Bruce, I agree with you about Glass Onion, too long and it got too silly at the end.
-
Trump 2 is happening in Brazil. Ugh.
-
Adam Rich of Eight Is Enough has died.
-
So has author Russell Banks. His novel, Affliction, led to an Oscar for James Coburn, yesterday’s TOD.
-
DR George: I completely forgot to ask, but I'd love to see the DVD as well. No hurry, just whenever it's convenient. Thank you!
You got it. Also, do you want an actual DVD or Blu-ray?
Was it shot in HD? Usually these things still aren't, but maybe your people are more tech-advanced than others.
So, let's see... How about: DVD will be fine if not in HD, otherwise a BD would be great. How's that?
-
I need a nap, but not until the chili is done.
-
Let’s get off this page.
-
One more …
-
Four!!!!
-
Chili would be the perfect thing this freezing Sunday afternoon in this neck of the woods, so I may be doing the same, Cincy-style.
-
Trump 2 is happening in Brazil. Ugh.
Ugh.
-
Adam Rich of Eight Is Enough has died.
I read that :(
-
So has author Russell Banks. His novel, Affliction, led to an Oscar for James Coburn, yesterday’s TOD.
Eighty two used to seem old to me, now it doesn't.
-
Eighty two! If I live that long, I will be out of money.
-
It seems cruel to have to choose between chili and a nap.
-
Both are outcomes to be desired.
-
In my book.
-
BK is writing his book.
-
My book is struggling from lack of effort.
-
As in, I haven't started one.
-
Adam Rich of Eight Is Enough has died.
Oh, no. :(
-
DR George: I completely forgot to ask, but I'd love to see the DVD as well. No hurry, just whenever it's convenient. Thank you!

It was just a phone camera, but it was HD.

That qualifies. Thanks!
-
I haven't started a pot of chili, either.
-
Woe is me.
-
I did take a nap, though.
-
So, I've accomplished quite a lot.
-
If you think about it.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep - was up at nine for an hour with a terrible allergy attack. Thankfully, I had one pill left and that kicked in pretty quickly.
-
This weekend the Minnesota Orchestra performed Rachmaninoff's Third Piano Concerto with pianist Kirill Gerstein, which I was able to view on Twin Cities Public Television.
-
After that, my thoughts turned to the 1996 film Shine, about pianist David Helfgott.
-
But it's weird - it doesn't appear to be streaming on any platform, and the movie is out of print on disc.
-
You can get used copies at ruinous cost.
-
I wonder if the family's objection to David's portrayal in the film led to its being withdrawn?
-
Where are YOU gonna sleep?
-
Let's get moving and shaking.
-
Let's get rocking and rolling.
-
Let's get dangerous.
-
On page FIVE.
-
Good evening.
-
Yesterday I hosted a group at the church, then today we had a lunch after worship. So I've been in the kitchen for a couple of days.
-
Before The Pandemic I don't think that would have bothered me. Now I'm worn out.
-
I hope your efforts are appreciated, DR Laura.
-
Where are YOU gonna sleep?
Snuggled right next to that kitty.
-
Before The Pandemic I don't think that would have bothered me. Now I'm worn out.
Even before the Pandemic I could not cook/bake like you do anymore-just don't have the energy.
-
I hope your efforts are appreciated, DR Laura.
I would hope so.
-
Dolphins don't have accidents.
-
Everything they do is on Porpoise.
-
I hope your efforts are appreciated, DR Laura.
I think so. The minister especially appreciates it. I leave the leftovers for him.
-
Leonard is glad I am home.
-
Awww.
-
Basketball.
-
Chili time
-
I was too lazy to cut onion.
-
Are those big chunks onion?
-
We managed to find a 45 minute window to walk in-between the rain.
-
I feel very lucky it stopped for that brief amount of time.
-
I have been in touch with DR Danise who has had major medical issues. Last we communicated was on December 31st. Then she was back in the hospital. I haven't been able to reach her friend to find out if she is ok.
Someone posted on her Facebook page she passed away :'(
-
Oh no.
-
After we chatted on messenger she said she had to call 911 and was in the hospital again. They were putting her in ICU. After that, I couldn't reach her.
-
That is really sad.
-
It is nice to know that she had friends, here and where she lived, that were looking out for her.
-
I hope one of those friends is looking after her dog. Or did she have more than one?
-
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I saw her Facebook updates. I was afraid that was going to happen.
-
I'm sure Thelma will look after her dog. Thelma has been such a good friend all these years.
-
I hope one of those friends is looking after her dog. Or did she have more than one?
The one dog. I was not able to ask her where Toby was. Poor boy. She had been in and out of the hospital.
-
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I saw her Facebook updates. I was afraid that was going to happen.
I know. When I talked to her the last time she was released from the hospital, before returning that night, she had been sent home and had to go back out the next day to get prescriptions. She was in no shape to be driving to a pharmacy. I didn't think she should even have been home :(
-
I'm sure Thelma will look after her dog. Thelma has been such a good friend all these years.
Thelma has a cat that doesn't like dogs so Toby was never permitted there.
-
I am very sad :'(
-
I enjoyed following her on FB when she wasn't at HHW any longer.
-
Are those big chunks onion?
Macaroni. I didn’t have spaghetti.
-
So sorry to read about DR Danise.
-
I appear to have passed a milestone.
-
Are those big chunks onion?
Macaroni. I didn’t have spaghetti.
I thought it looked like macaroni, but then when you mentioned onions I wasn't sure if you meant you didn't feel like chopping them smaller-lol
-
George, I couldn’t get your disc to play. I will try to change machines tomorrow. I also tried it in my laptop. It wouldn’t play there either. Also, it said Mamma Mia. Is that right?
-
So, I’m watching The Organizer, an Italian film from Italy about abused factory workers needing help with a strike.
-
Are those big chunks onion?
Macaroni. I didn’t have spaghetti.
I thought it looked like macaroni, but then when you mentioned onions I wasn't sure if you meant you didn't feel like chopping them smaller-lol
There’s an onion cooked into the chili. Chopping it required too much energy.
-
I’m going to be a mess tomorrow when I have to go back to work.

I’m going to be a mess tomorrow when I have to go back to work.
Back to the office?
-
Vibes your day goes well.
-
I heard from Thelma and Danise passed away yesterday :(
-
Thank Thelma and send our condolences, please.

-
Sorry to hear about Dakota Celt and wish she'd come back to us.
-
Futzed and finessed and wrote a few new lines.
-
Went to Gelson's intending to get chicken for faux stroganoff but I'd say chicken prices have gone about about 50% in the last three weeks. So, I bought two thin top sirloin pieces (eight bucks for the pair) and made real stroganoff, which I'm eating now.
-
Then I'll try to write seven or eight pages before taking a break.
-
Sorry to hear about Dakota Celt and wish she'd come back to us.
She had so many problems and her health kept getting worse that she didn't feel comfortable complaining. I too wish she had returned.
You meant Danise, not Dakota.
-
Her niece just posted on her FB page and said she passed away close to midnight.
-
Thank Thelma and send our condolences, please.
I will.

I read the headline in the news and could not open it. I think I will still pass.
-
Sorry to hear about Dakota Celt and wish she'd come back to us.
It just dawned on me you called Danise the wrong name. Dakota Celt is fine.
-
Dakota Celt ?
EDIT: Never mind, I see you caught it. :)

Congrats, John!
-

I did make discs for both Mamma Mia! and A Murder is Announced, but not at the same time.
-
I must confess that I didn't check the Murder discs after I burned them, but I burned them right after making the menus and all that, which definitely was for A Murder is Announced, so I don't know what could've happened!
-
I'll send you a new one. I wonder if the fact that I used a dual-layer DVD for your DVD. :-\
-
Oh, look! It's Page Seven!
-
I appear to have passed a milestone.
Congrats, John!
Oops, missed this. Congrats.
-
Starting a french film from France called Wooden Crosses. It’s an anti-war film from the 1930s. I don’t plan to finish it tonight. But I don’t think I will have time tomorrow for a whole movie.
-
I'll send you a new one. I wonder if the fact that I used a dual-layer DVD for your DVD. :-\
I think it could be. Would you like this one back?
-
DR John G., congratulations on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!
-
I'll send you a new one. I wonder if the fact that I used a dual-layer DVD for your DVD. :-\
I think it could be. Would you like this one back?
No. Do what you like with it. :)
-
This film is a nice companion to one of the books I’m trudging through, Zola’s The Debacle, which has soldiers moving across the French countryside. Slow marches, full of mud, a lack of food and money, and the camaraderie of the troops.
-
Cut it in half and make it into a pair of shiny earrings, DR John G.
-
'night
-
Maybe it’ll force me back to the Zola.
-
Cut it in half and make it into a pair of shiny earrings, DR John G.
Use it as a coaster! ;D
-

You’re too crafty for me.
-
And DR Ginny is too crafty for me.
-
The last crafty thing I did involved popsicle sticks. About 55 years ago.
-
Despite the nap earlier, I'm tired.
-
The latest episode of Midsomer Murders had a bevy of drag queens.
-
Good night, friends.
-
The latest episode of Midsomer Murders had a bevy of drag queens.
Sounds like fun. Was the murderer a raving evangelical?
-
Gratuitous post 199!
-
Non-Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
Been reading Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow. I didn’t think I’d like it since it was about gamers and the people who create video games. But the critics raved. And rightly so. it’s fascinating. The writer, Gabrielle Zevon, also likes musical theater, so there are digressions on The Rink and Bayoork Lee in A Chorus Line.
-
Yo!
-
Good night, all.
-
I thought Danise WAS Dakota Celt?
-
I think Dakota Celt lives in a cold part of the country.
Maybe North Dakota.
-
Danise lived in Florida.
Very sorry to read this sad news.
-
DR TCB, I was hoping you would get pain relief from the surgery, but only you can make that decision.
I’m sure you evaluated all aspects carefully, and have faith that you made the best choice for yourself.
-
That said, I hope there are other methods to alleviate your symptoms, and other approaches that will decrease pain.
-
DR George: I completely forgot to ask, but I'd love to see the DVD as well.
How's that?
It was just a phone camera, but it was HD.

Oh my God! Please tell me it isn’t true.
-
I heard from Thelma and Danise passed away yesterday :(
I am devastated!
-
Yes, please thank Thelma for being such a good friend to Denise.
-
Poor Danise. She was always afraid of being a burden to everyone.
-
I remember when she came to New York to be part of another group, and they all made fun of her.
-
No George AGAIN?
-
This is quite unseemly.
-
Quite.
-
Perhaps he'll show up before the new notes are posted.
-
She brought them all something from Florida. Was it shells?
-
If he doesn't, we may just have to collectively brain him.
-
No George AGAIN?
He was here at 6:30.
-
Yes, please thank Thelma for being such a good friend to Denise.
I need to go and play a Michael Ball cd.
-
I 'm afraid there will be some braining going on.
-
This has become an every night happening or - not happening to be more accurate.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I mean, page nine is in the damn wings.
-
As am I.
-
Rabbit holes are bad.
-
Clearly.
-
Well, what can you do?
-
You carry on as best you can.
-
You move forward.
-
You eat a Payday. I'd like to HAVE a damn pay day.
-
In the meantime, I'm eating a damn Payday right now.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
I'll go back to writing as soon as the new notes are posted, which is six minutes from now.
-
At least we'll let page nine make its entrance.
-
With no help.
-
Just li'l ol' me keeping the home fries burning.
-
Ah, well.
-
Page nine has made its entrance.
-
And in the nick of time.
-
With four minutes to spare.
-
I am sorry. I can’t get past Danise passing away.
-
Did you know that Ravel spelled backwards is Levar?
-
I gather she was VERY ill.
-
The Payday was a mini-Payday, very small.
-
They come in a pack of five.
-
As do I.
-
Almost time to post new notes.
-
Any second now.
-
I use to tease her about her flirtation with Anderson Cooper.
-
I said it should be me instead of her.
-

Absolutely, Tom!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
And NOW George shows up.
-
This is quite unseemly.
Rabbit hole...way down. ;)
-
And makes with a single post.
-
A little late to the partay.
-
Rabbit holes are bad.
They get you in the zone and you lose track of time!
-
And makes with a single post.
No...this is my third post!
-
Bruce, I thought you met Danise? She came to one of the New York gatherings.
-
