Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of New Faces of 2023, and now it is time for you to post until the new cows of 2023 come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TELEOLOGICAL!
-
Topic of the Day: Haley Joel Osment was very good in both The Sixth Sense and A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
-
And also (in alphabetical order):
Judy Garland
Hayley Mills
Margaret O'Brien
Tatum O'Neal
Daniel Radcliffe
Mickey Rooney
Shirley Temple
Henry Thomas
Natalie Wood
-
Good list. My list must-includes would have Patty Duke, Patricia Gozzi (maybe the greatest kid performance ever), Enzo Staiola (Bicycle Thieves), Jackie Coogan, Tommy Rettig (Dr. T), Mary Badham, Natalie Portman, Pamela Franklin, Billy Chapin,
-
Good morning.
-
In the winter, we usually get California's rain after they are through with it. I guess we are skipping this storm. Our next rain will probably be on Sunday (the day a marathon shuts down all the roads in town).
-
TOD
Patty McCormack
Daisy Eagan
Anna Paquin
Ron Howard in The Music Man when he was 10 years old
In addition to those previously mentioned by George and bk, of course
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Can used rain be obtained at a discount?
-
Is there a bargain to be had?
-
There's still not a billion dollars in my checking account.
-
What's up with that?
-
I guess the first step would entail buying a ticket.
-
That's the first problem.
-
TOD:
On stage? Probably Daisy Eagan in The Secret Garden. That original production was so beautiful.
-
Nice to see DR Matthew around the jernt.
-
Thanks, DR George and DR John G. I hadn't noticed, myself.
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is my one open day of the week, so I plan to do very little. I have several calls to make and some work on the ballet.
-
I'm so derriere garde! I've started watching The Crown, and I'm really enjoying it.
-
I really want to go back to bed for a few hours.
-
Glad that you can see The Crown now, DR elmore3003.
-
Good morning, all.
-
This morning I go to the car place for an oil change.
-
I think that’s my only errand, then the rest of the day is mine.
-
Topic of the Day: Haley Joel Osment was very good in both The Sixth Sense and A.I. Artificial Intelligence.
I came to say this. I agree!
-
My friggin back is tight as a drum this morning, and I was feeling so much better yesterday

Patty Duke
Haley Joel Osment
Hayley Mills
Tommy Kirk
Bobby Driscoll
-
Congrats to DR sindaw on his millstone.
-
Great to hear from DR MATTHEW!
-
DR JANE I'm glad you got another personal appearance last night!
-
AND:
Jimmy Hunt
Johnny Sheffield
-
George, nice photos of the keychain. Tracking said it was expected to arrive yesterday but then didn't show it was out for delivery.
You are welcome.
-
DR John the french toast looks pretty.
-
From Bruce:
One of our kids told me their father went to Hamilton High, my high school. I said when? The 1990s. I gotta tell you
.
;D

In the winter, we usually get California's rain after they are through with it. I guess we are skipping this storm. Our next rain will probably be on Sunday (the day a marathon shuts down all the roads in town).
I am sure parts of California would love to share their rain with you.

Sorry.

What about a warm bath.
-
DR JANE I'm glad you got another personal appearance last night!
Thank you. It was very short as they were late and had to rush off to the airport.
-
Short but sweet.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Work is crazy today.
-
I agree with most of the child actors mentioned. I’ll add:
Jodie Foster
The kids in Fanny and Alexander
Brandon deWilde
Claude Jarman Jr.
The boys in Ozu’s Good Morning
Quvenzhané Wallis In Beasts of the Southern Wild

If they made glow-in-the-dark Oreos, would they be marketed as Gloreos?
-
These are the things I ponder.
-
As I wander.
-
{{{HUGS}}} to you, DR vixmom.
-
And ~~~PAIN BEGONE VIBES~~~ for you!!!!
-
THREE
-
For DR TCB as well, of course. Always.
-
I think we’re all needing some vibes.
-
And should we be singing Gloreos in excelcis Deo?
-
Perhaps you should ponder that, Singdaw.
-
And that’s the sorrowful précis. It’s very messy.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep. Could probably use more, but - I'm up.
-
No episode seven until Wednesday.
-
Indeed, I should, DR John G.
-
If they made glow-in-the-dark Oreos, would they be marketed as Gloreos?
Ooo...that would be cool! ;D
-
And ~~~PAIN BEGONE VIBES~~~ for you!!!!
~~~SUPER DITTO!!~~~
-
And should we be singing Gloreos in excelcis Deo?
Or...Gloreos in egg shells, sis. DAY-O! EES A DAY-AY-AY OH!
:))
-
I just read this little bit of tid:
Ben Platt Will Return to Broadway in 'Parade' — Watch Exclusive First Look with Costar Micaela Diamond (https://people.com/theater/ben-platt-return-to-broadway-in-parade-watch-exclusive-first-look-micaela-diamond/)
In a video exclusively shared with PEOPLE, Ben Platt and Micaela Diamond perform “This Is Not Over Yet” from the musical Parade, which will be revived on Broadway this season.
-
I've got a little list...
-
Some exciting singing in that clip, DR George.
-
I forgot Brandon deWilde on my list.
And Darryl Hickman.
-
And speaking of Sondheim (someone was somewhere, I'm sure ;) ):
Paul Mescal Takes Over Blake Jenner Role in Richard Linklater’s Decades-Spanning ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ (https://variety.com/2023/film/news/paul-mescal-blake-jenner-merrily-we-roll-along-richard-linklater-1235483113/amp/).
Can used rain be obtained at a discount?
According to Celine - there is a tax as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arxoA1AJsto
Last night was very windy and very rainy. I must say, it is nice to have some rain. The little guy (JP) "asked" to go outside at 2:30am and we did, and then Papa had a hard time getting back to sleep afterward. I'm thankful he makes a fuss when he needs to go out. He'll be 8 months old tomorrow and he seems to be a very good boy.
Right now, we are partly cloudy. Not sure when the rain begins again today. Other than that, it's been a decent day so far.
Jay North as Dennis the Menace
Mara Wilson in Mrs. Doubtfire and Matilda
-
The Fanning sisters, Elle and Dakota
The Cartwright sisters, Veronica and Angela
Awww, good boy. Do you have photos to share?
-
Futzed and finessed quite a bit, and have written two new pages and will try to write at least eight more before taking a break.
-
Had Hugo's pasta papa and a little Caesar salad for food. Very good.
-
Page four is waiting in the wings.
-
As am I.
-
Nice to see Matthew around these here parts.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
I think so.
-
See? They gaslight you, then gaslight you again so they can say they weren't gaslighting you.
-
:)
-
Ingrid Bergman and Charles Boyer have been gaslighting me.
-
It's much more flattering than incandescent light.
-
But I have always heard that indirect lighting is the hallmark of a civilized society.
-
I had a lovely walk without rain. I even dressed to warm and had my coat off. I played with a dog that lives on one of the boats at our little marina. Then I ran into a neighbor and we walked back together.
-
It was very nice.
-
I forgot about the Cartwright girls.....so many favorites from my distant past.
-
I liked Rusty Hamer, too.....
-
Not mentioned yet...
Roddy McDowall
Freddie Bartholomew
Clips from the past show that Rose-Marie from the Dick Van Dyke Show was a marvel of a child performer.
Also, Abigail Breslin from Little Miss Sunshine.
Anyone fancy a new job?
-
Best performance onstage for me was Patty Duke as Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker.
-
My favorite show growing up was The Patty Duke Show.
I still remember all of the lyrics and music of that theme song.
-
I can't decide between these two welcome mats.
-
Last time I saw her was as Phyllis in a concert performance of Follies in L.A. in 2002.
Amazing actress.
-
Is anyone watching the Golden Globe Awards?
-
Thanks, DR DR Iris. I didn't even realize that they were on.
-
I probably haven't seen anything that's nominated. Well, I take that back - I did see TAR.
-
The host and opening monologue….
Absolutely dreadful.
-
I’m only watching because I liked The White Lotus.
Jennifer Coolidge is presenting right now.
She is exactly like her character on that show.
-
I recognize very few of the actors and actresses this year.
-
So much bleeping!
Ugh.
-
Doesn't sound too appetizing.
-
The host is Jerrod Carmichael.
I have never heard of him, and I am not impressed.
Two winners so far and I have never heard of either.
-
Best Score
Justin Hurwitz for Babylon.
Nice acceptance speech.
-
Winner for best song is Naatu-Naatu.
Don’t know it.
-
One more.
-
FIVE.
-
I don’t think I’m the right demographic for this show.
Will record it and fast forward later.
-
I may watch the show later, so that I can skip the commercials and the offending bits.
-
Good idea, DR DR Iris.
-
The Offending Bits should be the title of something-or-other.
-
"Just TRY to take one. I dare you!"
-
I like the pianist.
Singdaw, some of this is probably worth watching, but not much.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and opinions of anyone watching.
-
Have you ever gone into a restaurant and ordered a soupçon of soup?
-
The chef could come out and say, "Soup's on!"
-
Ah, Colin Farrell.
I do like him.
-
Everything, Everywhere All At Once is winning in several categories.
For anyone who has seen it, is it worth watching?
-
BBL
-
Everything, Everywhere All At Once is winning in several categories.
For anyone who has seen it, is it worth watching?
I enjoyed it. It’s very hyper. BK did not.
-
Watching a French film from France called Cache. It stars Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche. I saw it years ago and didn’t like it. I like it much better tonight.
But one thing I don’t like is that there’s no score.
-
I never run with scissors.
-
Oh, who am I kidding?
-
I never run.
-
We are going to watch The Pale Blue Eye.
-
'night
-
I don't like or enjoy the Golden Globes.
I've done eight pages and was hoping to get through page ten, but I have to take a break right now. Fortunately, I'm in the middle of a sequence and I know exactly what happens for the next four or five pages, maybe more, so think I'll be able to get to fifteen pages.
Anyone fancy a new job?
Running and Kevin McCarthy. ::)
THIS JUST IN.....
The Energizer Bunny was charged with battery.
-
Six.
-
:)
-
Let's stay all night and sing 'em all.
-
That’s funny.
-
This movie has taken a turn for the gory.
-
What's the story, gory?
-
Edward Gorey was sometimes gory.
-
Gory is as gory does.
-
Shall we list the categories of gory?
-
Perhaps not.
-
I'm out of steam.
-
To the relief of many, I'm sure.
-
Good night, friends.
-
THIS JUST IN.....
The Energizer Bunny was charged with battery.
Must...not...groan!! 😖
-
But Singdaw, you forgot Gorey-os, cookies with Gorey images imprinted on them.
-
Now that Cache is over, I remember what I disliked about it the first time. What sets the film in motion is never resolved. I think that’s what I liked this time through. As obsessed as the main character is about being stalked, it’s not what is ultimately important. It’s a very difficult movie. It’s a thriller of sorts, but it’s not really Hitchcockian, as the inept quotes on the box state.
-
I need to try a new hand exercise tonight. Not looking forward to it.
-
It involves ice on the hand.
-
It’s supposed to help with the swelling.
-
Good night, all.
-
Ice!
-
Which reminds me of a Flip Wilson joke that I have told here before.
-
I love Patty Duke AND The Patty Duke Show.....and DR IRIS there are a few CD's of her "singing" career......the final track contains many outtakes.....
Usually they stop her a few measures in and say "good up to there...."
In one.....the orchestra plays the intro she sings one note and the producer calls: "Cut."
And Patty says: "Good up till there....."
-
Continued writing vibes for MR BK.
-
I'm am skipping the Golden Globs.....I am sure I wouldn't know many of the nominees and winners.....for some reason the "class" has gone out of the awards shows......so I am not interested.
The last one I watch from start to finish in The Tony Awards.....
-
At last TCM is into Star of the Month Marion Davies....SOUND films....
-
Jrand, I just listened to Patty Duke sing “Could I Leave You?” from Follies on Youtube.
She was definitely a better actress than a singer!
-
No TCB.
-
No George.
-
Apparently, this is the new normal.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Page seven had made its entrance.
-
As have I.
-
This has been a most frustrating day, with constant interruptions, irritating phone calls and I writing when all that is going on is very difficult and I only hope that I like some of what I've written and that it isn't a bust. I've informed everyone that I will not be having another day like this whilst I am writing. I have done eleven pages so hopefully I can do four more - I'm in a section that I don't really have to think about so that's good.
-
Watching a French film from France called Cache. It stars Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche. I saw it years ago and didn’t like it. I like it much better tonight.
But one thing I don’t like is that there’s no score.
What is CACHE in French?
-
Is anyone watching the Golden Globe Awards?
I forgot to set my DVR. :-\
You could’ve said it at 6:30, George, the show repeated at 8 o’clock.
-
I was very disappointed with the Golden Globes, that Brendan didn’t get best actor of the year. I thought it was his best hope of getting an award this year. I don’t think he will get an Oscar.
-
Hello, George.
-
I see Bruce is gone as usual.
-
I always enjoy the Golden Globes, mostly because they’re all drunk. There is a lot of swearing
-
Hi, Tom.
-
I was surprised to find out, but Jesus and Jesus Christ are apparently not swear words even when used in vain.
-
Is anyone watching the Golden Globe Awards?
I forgot to set my DVR. :-\
You could’ve said it at 6:30, George, the show repeated at 8 o’clock.
I didn't realize that it repeated, so I was able to set my DVR to record the repeat broadcast.
-
They were never bleeped once during the show.
-
Sorry, sensitive subject.
-
I was very disappointed with the Golden Globes, that Brendon didn’t get best actor of the year. I thought it was his best hope of getting an award this year. I don’t think he will get an Oscar.
That's too bad. Hopefully, he'll at least get a nomination.
-
But getting a GG nomination, or even winning, is no guarantee for an Oscar nomination. Madonna won a GG for Evita and wasn't even nominated for an Oscar, so anything can happen.
-
Oh, I’m sure he will. He was the front runner a couple of months ago, so I don’t think he’s fallen that far.
-
I imagine Colin Farrell will win Best Actor.
-
Finished writing the notes.
-
Is page eight anywhere close?
-
I may make some popcorn as I'll probably be up until two or three writing.
-
Gratuitous Post #202!!
-
Is 210 page 8?
-
Then we have work to do!
-
I just may.
-
New notes are up.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I've seen them.
-
The only way I could sit and eat a bowl of popcorn is if it was drenched in butter. Like it used to be at the theaters.
-
Naturally George has gone down a rabbit hole.
-
I do not watch the Golden Globes and have never watched them that I can recall.
-
Yes, I drench my popcorn in butter.
-
Can't eat plain popcorn.
-
Page eight has arrived.
-
I do not watch the Golden Globes and have never watched them that I can recall.
That is not a surprise, since we don’t have a viewing party for the Golden Globes.
-
As have I.
-
I didn't even know they were on. Wasn't there some scandal with them and they weren't on last year?
-
Am I remembering that right?
-
I didn't even know they were on. Wasn't there some scandal with them and they weren't on last year?
That is correct.
-
Turned out they had no members of color.
-
Shocking.
-
Among other problems.
-
Have you noticed George has gone the way of all flesh?
-
I have.
