Well, you're read the notes, the notes spoke of the muse and I, and now it is time for you to post until the musing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HARLEQUIN!
-
George, what is the name of the play?
-
George, what is the name of the play?
I hope no one steals it out from under us, but it's NAME REDACTED.
:D
-
There are only two characters in the show (both women), so they'll have a LOT of lines to learn!
-
You can erase the name now, and post something else instead.

Good morning, all!
-
DR TCB, I send you much love and good wishes.
-
My cell phone is acting up again. At some point in the middle of the night I needed a bathroom break. I checked my cell phone for the time to find the battery was dead and it needed to recharge, something I had done earlier in the day. I plugged it back into its charger and returned to bed.
-
I awoke this morning around 5:00, unplugged it, and at the moment it's behaving.

I have Access-a-Ride today. Pray for Rosemary's baby.

I need to call them this morning for tomorrow's trip.

Good morning, friends.

Kitty cleanup finished, bed made, and I need to call AAR for tomorrow's trips.

AAR booked, and this morning there was no hassle about requested pickup times. Most times, it's hell.

Tuesday morning greetings! Richard is in surgery and his parting words to me were, “Charge my iPad!”

My biggest problem with the internet is how quickly misinformation can be shared and pushed as truth to folks who should know better.
This especially applies to folks who knowingly put false information out there.....
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe five hours of sleep, if that.
-
The mind was alive with the sound of music.

Actually book stuff. I finally got up and wrote down everything that had been coming to me as i tossed and turned like a Caesar salad.

Thank you, DRs JRand and KevinH!
Richard is back in his room, sleeping off his anesthetic. He had some scar tissue from a hernia surgery he had before we were married. That was “broken up” and nothing else was found.
His biggest complaint beforehand was a sore knee, so we’re waiting for that to be x-rayed. He’ll be here one more night, at least.
-
Good Morning. Back to work! My 3rd graders have been learning songs for the score of The Sound of Music since Kindergarten and today we practiced "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria" and "Climb Every Mountain" for a performance we're giving in a few weeks. They are quite good, especially on "Climb Every Mountain" - I took the key down a little for easier access, and they are just lovely.
I hope to hear back from the car dealer today. We'll see what we'll see.
Glad to see that DH Richard is out of surgery.
-
That was fun....

Happy Anniversary, Ginny and Fr. Richard!
We spent our anniversary getting the Omicron shots. So our celebration was way better than yours.

NEWS FLASH!!!
The jumping Facebook page is no more, effective sometime yesterday afternoon or evening.
-
My daughter and I took a field trip to Krispy Kreme and got those new cookie butter doughnuts I've seen on the innerwebs.
Good, but awfully sweet.
-
I love going to a Krispy Kreme, which now hasn't happened in a number of years since they expanded into the northeast and did it way too fast and had to close a bunch of stores.
There was one on West 23rd Street in NYC, one at Eastgate Mall in Ohio, and I especially miss the older one in Melbourne, FL which I believe should still be there. My favorite of their donuts was always the fresh glazed ones, but I'd happily go for a selection right about now.
Right about now, I tell you.
-
They just came to get Richard for his knee x-ray. He was thrilled.
-
I might try to snooze a bit while he’s gone.
Bye for now…

And Happy Anniversary!

I am home, and today I was able to get up the lobby steps. No crawling.

Here's a real blast from the past from around 1977. I am performing Noel Coward's "I've Been to a Marvelous Party."
Épater la bourgeoisie! was my motto at the time.

Sweet dreams, Ginny.

I never used Vaseline much before this hand surgery. But it was recommended by the doctor, so I started. I love it, especially when the skin gets tight and dry.

I slept OK last night, but I'm really draggy today.

And I don't mean "in drag."

:)
-
Thank you, again, for all of the wishes for Richard and for our anniversary.
I am home now and when I left him he was pretty much awake using his FULLY CHARGED iPad.
-
Thanks, all, for the continued good wishes for Richard. He’s still pretty zonked. I went downstairs, got lunch to go, and ate it here in his room. He never knew a thing.
I hope you have a book to read. It is good he is sleeping.
I’d read the first 2 chapters of The Stolen Book of Evelyn Aubrey last Friday. When I tried to start with Chapter 3 this morning, I couldn’t remember a thing. Started over and now I’m well into the dual timeline story.
-
Taking a break - have done about ten pages so far and had a conversation with Muse Maraget and we pretty much agreed on what needed to go and I made about two-and-a-half pages of cuts and now it's fine.

I performed that same piece at Gerri Hart’s memorial at the Sorg Theatre, but my wardrobe was slightly different…

That is understandable-lol. It sounds like you are enjoying the book. I will mark it to read.

Is there an echo in here?

Glad that you are figuring out the book, BK, and that the fix was accomplished without too much fuss.
-
I'm afraid I'm too tired to carry us any further.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Yesterday, St. Elsewhere was on my must-watch list. Today I read thst Bonnie Bartlett Daniels, 93, has written her memoir. She and William Daniels have been married for 72 years.
I love them both. Wish I could have seen him in A Little Night Music. I heard (was it from Elmore?) that he was fantastic.
-
72 years, wow.
-
Started watching a Paul Schrader movie called The Card Counter. I can’t remember the last Schrader movie I saw was, but I know I didn’t like it. And I don’t like this one.
-
72 years, wow.
Yeah. Wow.
-
I’m going to skip to the ending of this one.
-
If Keith and I both live to be 94 (age difference between 93 & 94) we will have been married 74 years.
-
I really don't expect that to happen. It is still a miracle I don't have cancer yet.
-
A miracle or the fact I removed healthy body parts to prevent it ;D
-
'night
-
I had been listening to Mrs. Dalloway on CD in the car. I couldn't get a disc to play, so I brought it in. Didn't play in the DVD player. Didn't play in the laptop either, but the laptop at least told me why. The disc was blank.
Thankfully, I have read the book before. So, I will just look at my copy for what I missed and just move on.

Finished with my viewing and back to writing for a couple of hours - must do another seven or eight pages for sure.
-
I’m beginning to wane.
-
It’s been a long day.
-
But page six is not far.
-
Cranberries!
-
Underpants!
-
What is this page five malarkey?
-
It’s all just too, too.

I haven’t been to a marvelous party tonight.
-
But I did have halo halo.

Six!
-
Good night, all.
-
Oy and Vey - the car fiasco is just that - a fiasco. I'm close to seeking out legal representation. And that is all I'm saying about THAT.
Enjoy what's left of the day!

Oh, no! :-\
-
~~~Car Vibes for Matthew!!~~~
-
It's supposed to wane here tomorrow again.
-
I've written about twelve pages so far and will definitely do another three.
-
But for now, break time.
-
Time for break.
-
Time break.
-
I had matzoh brei for breakfast and then a small steak here for late afternoon - all good.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
No TCB.
-
No George.
-
Is it going to be one of THOSE nights?
-
I just want to keep eating.
-
Why is that?
-
That seems wrong.
-
I don't have anything here to eat, however, save for some bite-size Big Hun and Cherry Ripe and I've already had a few.
-
Sometimes you just have to do such things.
-
Trying to decide whether to write notes first or shower first or both.
-
Then we'd have wet notes.
-
And who doesn't like THAT?
-
Certain aspects of the research I have to do is very frustrating because it's not meshing with my memory.
-
Or it is messing with my memory.
-
Or is my memory messing with my memory.
-
What am I, doing a monologue?
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Certainly not here.
-
Nobody here but us chickens.
-
Welcome forty-nine GUESTS.
-
Page seven has made its much-delayed entrance.
-
And now page eight is waiting in the wings.
-
As am I.
-
Sometimes I feel like a motherless child.
-
Sometimes I feel like a childless mother.
-
Not necessarily in that order.
-
Well, perhaps I'll write some notes and heaven help those who do not show up whilst I'm doing so.
-
I’m here.
-
I have a question for you, BK.
-
I wasn’t here when the story of “She of the Evil Eye” started.
Please educate me.
-
I have always wanted to know.
-
And why are you no longer wearing a smoking jacket?
-
Or bunny slippers?
-
These are the things I ponder late at night.
-
Pathetic, ain’t it?
-
Is anybody there?
-
Does anybody care?
-
Does anybody see what I see?
-
Well, they may sound silly, but they’re POSTS.
-
I’ll check back in later.
-
Gratuitous Post #201!!
-
So, I was cast in Evergreen Playhouse's production of Tuck Everlasting that will open on May 5 (my birthday).
-
I don't know when rehearsals are going to start, but they probably won't until mid to late March.
-
Well, I don't know when it was posted on FB, but the SPSCC (South Puget Sound Community College) Theater Collective just announced auditions for Sunday in the Park with George!
-
It's never been done in Olympia before!
-
And it's a bucket-list show for me!
-
I was never a Georges/George type, so I was never sad that I aged out of the role, or just never had the opportunity to play it, but I have ALWAYS just wanted to be in the show.
-
I love the show and love the score, and to get a chance to be in it is one that I can't pass up.
-
I, of course, would still have to actually get cast in the show. ::)
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
So, if I audition and don't get cast, I'll still be able to usher for it many times because the Washington Center handles the ushers for the SPSCC performance space.
-
I did get a chance to perform Georges' songs back in the 1990s, so I do have that experience.
-
The Abbey Players (RIP) used to have a series of revues called The Magic of Broadway, where they'd pick a couple of composers/lyricists/songwriting teams and perform their songs, one composer/team for each act.
-
I was involved with the group both on stage and off, so I knew the core people involved.
-
One year, they were asking for suggestions of who to do next, and I made the suggestion of doing the musicals that had won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama!
-
At that time, only seven had actually won.
-
Of Thee I Sing, 1932
South Pacific, 1950
Fiorello!, 1960
How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying, 1962
A Chorus Line, 1976
Sunday in the Park with George, 1985 (thanks to our very own Larry! ;D )
Rent, 1996
-
Since then, Next to Normal (2010), Hamilton (2016), and A Strange Loop (2020) are the musicals that have won.
-
We had also learned that Oklahoma! had received a Special Citation in 1944, so we included that in our show.
-
Anyway, I got to sing three of the George/George songs in the Sunday segment of our show. :)
-
We were told that we could only sing three songs from each show without having to get the rights for the entire show, so that's what we limited ourselves to.
-
Thanks for all the hugs and good wishes!
-
We did "Sunday in the Park with George" (the opening number), "Putting it Together," and "Move On."
-
Recovery vibes for DH Richard.
-
The next year's Magic of Broadway was actually an evening of songs that won the Academy Award for Best Song in a Motion Picture.
-
That was kind of stretching the concept a bit, but it was a fun evening, and like all the others, everyone loved it. :)
-
George, congrats on Tuck Everlasting!
-
I don’t know your vocal range, but would you be right for Franz?
Or Jules?
Or The Boatman?
Or Mr.?
-
Or a soldier?
-
Or Louis the baker?
-
Congratulations, George! And the break a leg on Sunday in the Park with George auditions.
-
George, congrats on Tuck Everlasting!
Thanks, Iris!
-
GEORGE is not one of mt favorite musicals, but I do love some of the music.
-
I don’t know your vocal range, but would you be right for Franz?
I think these would be the characters that I'd be best for. I don't think I'm right for Franz, the soldiers, or Louis.
-
Congratulations, George! And the break a leg on Sunday in the Park with George auditions.
Thanks, Tom!
-
The auditions are next week!
-
I don't really have a monologue (any suggestions, anyone??), and I'll have to decide on a song to sing AND find music.
-
She of the Evil Eye has been cleaning for me since 1997, hard to believe.
-
There's a beautiful but VERY long monologue in L.A. Now and Then - written by Doug Haverty.
-
New notes are up.
Is it on the video that's still on YouTube?
-
Up are new notes.
Page nine is up.
Yes, it's on the full-length LACC video and on the Group Rep video, but Robert Yacko did a great job of it and that's the LACC one. It's towards the end, the second to last thing in act two.
