Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a notecut, and now it is time for you to post until the coifed cows come home.

And the word of the day is: PANDICULATION!

DR George, sending good audition vibes for SUNDAY on Saturday.
I think it’s this Saturday. Is that correct?

I think it’s this Saturday. Is that correct?
Thanks, Iris, and that's correct!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another lousy night of sleep. I am not happy about this at all.
-
This is a City Center day. I'm curious to see what Dear World numbers Joshie has waiting for me.
-
Now that I can see and actually read again, I have returned to my friend Paul Ford's book Lord knows at least I was there. I have a copy of his original 4-million page tome, which was funny, very dishy with names named, and too repetitive, and I marvel that someone was able to trim it to a reasonable length. I admire Paul's honesty and often agree with him about shows, revisals, and performers. I think it's also funny, often outrageously funny.
-
DR George, Florida under the regime of Trump-wannabe fascist dictator Ron deSantis has become a wasteland of ultra-conservative morons, who voted the asshole in, and a state in which its government gives no damn if the population is terminally misinformed or downright stupid.
-
DR vixmom, safe travels!
-
Good morning, friends.

Ditto.

Yes. We teach a few on Saturdays. People love Boot-Scootin’ Boogie and Waltz Across Texas. We also do the Cupid Shuffle and The Wobble. Need to learn a few more.

Good news from DR GINNY!

Vibes for DR JEANNE.....
-
Proofing and miracle vibes for MR BK.
-
Last night I watched a movie I had not seen since 1963.....Toys In The Attic.
I was bored to death when I saw it when I was 12. Last night was a little better. It is interesting....I really liked Wendy Hiller and Dean Martin.....but the less said about Geraldine Page and Yvette Mimieux the better.....
-
I have SCREEN PIX with my TCM package.....there are some interesting films there.....
Oh and Gene Tierney is in the movie, too.
-
Well she is on edges of the movie.
-
May someone love you as much as this cat loves bananas.
-
I forgot to ask!!!
vixmom, what kind of sandwiches?
-
I haven't done it in a very long time, but I loved packing sandwiches, or the makings for sandwiches, for a couple of road trips.

Also something new. I bought a little warmer insulated lunch bag thingy that plugs into the car.
We had toasted buttered onion bagels and still have toasted butter English muffins and two slices of pizza festooned with green pepper, mushrooms abd roma tomatoes in there.

I am especially joyful about the latter seven, which I have but have not been able to locate for some time.

The Mary Rodgers disc has been going for mucho bucks on the Internet, probably spiked by her book being released.

Hmm... maybe I should have made each one of those album titles a separate post. ;)

It sounds like a grueling trip. Even with the pizza.

I am home from City Center, and a fun day it was! I had two drivers with Mittel-European accents so heavy that I barely understood them, but they were both wonderfully kind and helpful. And both arrived on time!

I don't think that this has been mentioned yet:

On This Day in 1976, the first episode of Laverne and Shirley debuted on network television.
-
Glad you had a good day, DR elmore3003.
-
Thanks, DR George. I'm pretty sure that was noted in these here pages at the time.
-
But I may be mistaken.
-
It has happened before!
-
But I may be mistaken.
If I could trust the "search" option to work all the time I would be sure it wasn't mentioned.
-
I remember mentioning I had just watched her in Beat the Devil.
-
While we were at Costco Keith took one of the samples, something he rarely does. Fortunately, as I was reaching for one, I heard a couple of the ingredients. It had both Brazil and Hazelnuts in the mix of nuts. A double whammy for me.
-
I remember mentioning I had just watched her in Beat the Devil.
Then doing a search should have shown me that post ::)
-
It was Jan 16.
-
Jane mentioned it.
-
I did a search for "Beat the Devil" and nothing beyond today showed up.
-
Not that it really matters.
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of not enough sleep.

Why are we still on four?
-
Five is a livelier place.

Or so I’m told.

Interesting that they made The Grass Harp available - they don't really own that, which is why I put out the CD, and our mastering is better, of course.

Let’s find out

Five!
-
Interesting that they made The Grass Harp available - they don't really own that, which is why I put out the CD, and our mastering is better, of course.
Who owns it?
-
I have every recording on thst list except for Megan Mullaley.
-
Not that it really matters.
No, however, it is frustrating when I am trying to find something.
-
I did a search for "Gina" and the posts appeared from the 16th, but not today.
-
As anyone watched the German film All Quiet on the Western Front? It has been a long time since I watched the Oscar winning film with Lew Ayres. I am wondering how they compare.
-
It would be something if this film also won for best film.
-
I have never read the book and probably should have.
-
I have never had any success with the search function here, either for the posts or the daily Notes.
-
My mother leaves FOR Hawaii in the morning.
That’s what I think TCB meant to say.
Mystery solved.
-
Or so I believe.
-
I believe I own it. I made the deal with Claire long ago and I gave it to Varese and the other label, but they didn't own it.
-
I shall now be on my way to a lunch meeting.
-
Eating and meeting vibes for MR BK.
-
Cooking In The Car.
-
I was being taught some country western line dancing at one point in time - and I could not get the counts.....it was most discouraging. It seemed to have lots of pick ups [not the trucks] and stomping around on threes and fives.....never did get it.
-
Like DR TCB, I was not fond of going to the barber. The loudness of the electric clippers was scary.
-
DR IRIS what was most surprising about DR TCB's Hawaiian post is that I thought his mother passed away some time ago.
But I could be wrong.
-
Indeed.
-
DR John G., I just saw an online article about the Boulevardier, which is apparently a Negroni, but using bourbon or rye instead of gin.
-

Annabelle's Song
On the sidewalk we can build a snow cat
Lookin' like a big 'un in the zoo;
Ask us, Will it bite? We'll answer, No, cat,
This chilly chum's a member of our crew!
After that, we'll retire,
Wish our place had a fire
Where Thatch and I dream,
Conspire and scheme,
Lovin' our Manhattan Wonderland!

Many moons ago I was studying anatomy at UCLA. In order to get to gross lab where the dissections were I had to first make my way through the hospital. I hated that part because so many people were in agony. I'd hear the moans and groans of the patients and the worry in the voices of the visitors. I'd practically run through the corridors and was always so glad to come to the double doors which admitted me to the labs. I'd breathe a big sigh of relief, because here it was PEACEFUL. Gross lab wasn't a negative experience for me at all. I felt quite comfortable there once I got used to it.

Speaking of that darned leak, I spent several hours today doing searches and making phone calls to obtain answers to my tenants' rights questions. There are a number of organizations here devoted to it, but I was unable to speak to someone. Long wait times. Many, many people with questions and problems. I left several messages, but have not heard back from anyone. I have little hope: the housing department doesn't deal with environmental health issues and the health department, though they do deal with housing issues, doesn't seem to deal with the situation I'm in. I hope I'm wrong.
-
I like DR Jeanne's description of Flotida :)

Good Afternoon/Almost Evening. Nothing of note is happening. Nice to see everyone here seems to be doing well. Break legs on your audition tomorrow, DR George.

🤯🤯🤯Almost 5 months after ripping up the corner of our family room to deal with the mold, ServPro just told us they're "too busy" to do the reconstruction and we should find our own contractor.
-
Wow, DR Ginny. That is horrible. Between you and DR vixmom and DR Jeanne, we are in a sorry state for home repairs.
-
I don't know why I never thought of it, but I'll bet bagel croutons would be pretty darn good. In a nice bowl of split pea soup, perhaps.

Right about those carbs.

No! Is she in favor of them?
-
Did someone say paprika?
https://www.delish.com/uk/food-news/a42683733/what-is-paprika-made-from/ (https://www.delish.com/uk/food-news/a42683733/what-is-paprika-made-from/)
I did! You are so prescient.
-
Found it! Thanks for the heads up, DR John G. I didn't even know Miss Manners was still writing.
Dear Miss Manners:
I love salad, and would like to enjoy croutons on my salad, but they are the size and shape of dice and the consistency of pumice. They are impossible to stab with a fork, and nearly impossible to balance on one.
My attempts at gracefully rendering them into a more manageable size invariably go awry, sending chunks flying off my plate. I've taken to just picking them up with my fingers and crumbling them over my salad (which is also difficult!) but this feels a little uncouth.
What is the proper way to tackle a crouton? The whole thing reminds me of the ridiculous wedge salad. Salad should not be so difficult as to require more than one utensil, in my opinion.
By the way, I only have this problem at restaurants. At home, I simply enjoy my "croutons" in the form of seasoned breadcrumbs or crumbled seasoned stuffing mix.
= = = = = =
GENTLE READER: What Miss Manners doesn't understand is what is going on in the kitchens where these salads are being prepared. Have the sous chefs not tried eating their own salads?
And it's not just those croutons and the lettuce wedges, both of which could be used to play pickleball. What about the tomatoes, cut in quarters or fifths?
You are hereby authorized to ask the waiter quietly to return the salad to the kitchen to be cut into bite-sized pieces.
-
I wonder what Miss Manners would say about Lemon Meringue Pie Jello Salad?
-
Miss Manners is a riot. So is the person who asked the question. I don't mind cutting a wedge salad. I usually pass the croutons on to Keith, avoiding attempts at eating them ;D
-
DR Ginny what have they been telling you these last five months?
I was wondering that, too.
They told us it might be a while and most recently we were waiting for 2 estimates - one for just the corner paneling and ceiling and one for the whole room. We kind of let it go during the holidays and last week, of course.
-
Then your patience is understandable, and they were honest about the initial delay.
Vibes you find a crew to do the work without much of a wait, and does a good job.
-
DR Ginny, did they ever leave fans to air out the mold or are you still living with mold?
-
Every bathroom vanity should have a pair of bookends.
-
They got rid of the mold.
-
Back from stuff.
-
Had a nice lunch at the Coral Cafe - I was good - chicken salad sandwich and coleslaw - no fries or onion rings.
-
And that's IT for the day, food-wise.
-
Stopped at the mail place but nothing of note there, although I guess we're getting SAG screeners now.
-
They got rid of the mold.
At least your house won't make you sick.
-
I have been looking at gift options for a third birthday.

I have been looking at gift options for a third birthday.
Most people only have one a year, perhaps you’re being a bit greedy?
-
On the other hand gifts….cake…. You may be on to something there!
-
We are safely ensconced in our little suite

DR John G., I just saw an online article about the Boulevardier, which is apparently a Negroni, but using bourbon or rye instead of gin.
It’s a happy thing.
-
As anyone watched the German film All Quiet on the Western Front? It has been a long time since I watched the Oscar winning film with Lew Ayres. I am wondering how they compare.
Loved the book. I think the current movie, simply by being current, will be more violent than the original.

Back from a fun night of dancing.

I have a lot to catch up on.

Annabelle's Song
On the sidewalk we can build a snow cat
Lookin' like a big 'un in the zoo;
Ask us, Will it bite? We'll answer, No, cat,
This chilly chum's a member of our crew!
After that, we'll retire,
Wish our place had a fire
Where Thatch and I dream,
Conspire and scheme,
Lovin' our Manhattan Wonderland!
Sweet.

The day after I read this, I had baked trout with the tiniest croutons ever. I thought, Chef Robbie reads Miss Manners!

Ha!

Thanks, DR George. I'm pretty sure that was noted in these here pages at the time.
It was and I didn't track that.
-
Delightful song, Annabelle!
-
But I may be mistaken.
If I could trust the "search" option to work all the time I would be sure it wasn't mentioned.
I usually go to the Advanced search and select the the "Most recent topics first."
-
I remember mentioning I had just watched her in Beat the Devil.
Then doing a search should have shown me that post ::)
I didn't search. ::)
-
Interesting that they made The Grass Harp available - they don't really own that, which is why I put out the CD, and our mastering is better, of course.
Do you know if they're going to/have the rights to re-release Believe: The Songs of the Sherman Brothers?
-
And fix it properly??
-
I have every recording on thst list except for Megan Mullaley.
I think I got that one, but if I did, it's buried in a box somewhere.

Good Afternoon/Almost Evening. Nothing of note is happening. Nice to see everyone here seems to be doing well. Break legs on your audition tomorrow, DR George.
Thanks, Matthew!
-
Oh, looka. It's Page Nine!
-
🤯🤯🤯Almost 5 months after ripping up the corner of our family room to deal with the mold, ServPro just told us they're "too busy" to do the reconstruction and we should find our own contractor.
How rude! >:(

Audition vibes for George.

-
Good night, all.
-
Decided to order in some chicken soup and fries - sandwich just wasn't quite enough.
-
Hopefully it will arrive soon.
-
Oh, really? George just disappears for TWO HOURS?
-
And no TCB?
-
This is unseemly.
-
I suppose the excuse will be a rabbit hole.
-
Or some other fanciful thing.
-
Phase 40 or some such thing.
-
Two HOURS without a post.
-
What would Emily Post say about that.
-
What would Post Toasties say about that?
-
What would Hitching Post say about that?
-
What would Post Haste say about that.
-
And here we sit like so much page nine fish.
-
Thanks to the errant and the truant.
-
And the young and the restless.
-
And the duchess and dirt water fox.
-
Well, there is nothing to be done, I suppose.
-
Nothing.
-
There are seventeen GUESTS reading this topic.
-
But no George.
-
By George, I don't think he's got it.
-
Page then has made its entrance.
