Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no tomatoes, and now it is time for you to post until the tomatoless cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ENGAGING!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Last night, I got to my mom's house at about 5:15, then we played three games of Phase 10 (I didn't win any), and it wasn't until about 11:00 that we all left. After that, I had to go shopping for my sister, but since Fred Meyer closes at 11:00, I went to WinCo, which is just right up the street from my mom's house. But, I don't know where anything is at WinCo, so it took longer than expected. Then, I had to deliver said groceries to my sister because she needed them for some party event that she's going to today.
-
And now, I'm home. ::)
-
:)
-
Good morning, friends.

Good morning, all!
-
I slept pretty well last night. It was a nice change. It was also chillier than it has been. Some time after 2:30, Annabelle and Thatch crawled into bed with me and stayed until the alarm rang.
-
Last night, MSNBC showed the Tyre Nichols videos. I didn't want to watch police beat a man to death, so I occupied myself with shuffling the meds on my nightstand. The audio was horrific enough. Then, they got to the third video, and when that poor man began crying for his mother, I completely lost it. I burst into loud sobs. I don't know if I wept more for the victim or for the sheer inhumanity and cruelty of those sons of bitches.
-
DR George, break a leg today at your audition!
-
DR Ginny, I am so sorry about your mold situation.
-
DR Jeanne, sending good wishes and internet hugs to you.
-
Where is our DR TCB?
-
I have much to accomplish today: I must do the usual household chores and kitty cleanup, receive and put away today's Amazon Fresh order, and attempt to finish orchestrating the ballet's first number. I also have a Dear World number to proofread before I return to City Center on Tuesday.
-
Yesterday, I proofed "And I Was Beautiful" and "Kiss Her Now." The number I have with me is an instrumental "Descent," which includes a reprise of "The Spring of Next Year."
-
Yes, we have no tomatoes.
-
But what about the kumquats?
-
I join others in wishing DR George ~~~STRONGEST AUDITION VIBES~~~ today!!!
-
And ~~~CONTINUED SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR vixmom and DH vixdad.
Is there any pizza left?
-
If you have to use a snow blower, you might as well have fun with it.

I just saw the tiniest bit on the news here in NC this morning it is indeed horrific.

Is there any pizza left?
Well the instructions for the bag say that it can good a meal from frozen in three hours
-
Pshaw said Vixdad to that claim
-
I, too, was somewhat skeptical
-
We left the pizza in there for many many hours
-
All the veggies turned into soup on top of the pizza and we thought better of consuming it
-
We no longer doubt the powers of the heat bag
-
We have showered dressed and now intend to pop down the block for a Cracker Barrel breakfast prior to hitting the road once again

Housework finished, I wait for Amazon Fresh delivery.

Annabelle's song was such a success, I think she should write some more.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Been enjoying a slow start to the Saturday.
In a couple of hours I have to go out and pick up some music from someone, and put gas in the car. That should be about as adventurous as it gets today, but I've got plenty of things that need doing at home.
-
I love those Cracker Barrel breakfasts on road trips.
Those Vixes are somewhere in the surprisingly huge state of S.C. now. They should wave in the general direction of DR Ron Pulliam.

Good morning, all.

She's working of "Litter and Be Gay" at the moment.

I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep - slept well but then couldn't get back to sleep. Not good. I have to be very careful not to get this overtired - can't afford to get sick.

PAGE FOUR THE-AUDITION-IS-OVER DANCE!!
-
So, I decided to sing "Anthem" from Chess because I know it really well, and I didn't want to be concerned with learning a new song.
-
I got through it, but it turns out that in the correct key, it's just a bit too high for my now 56-year old voice...especially at 10:30 in the morning without really any warming up. :o
-
But other than the Fs and Gs, the rest of it (to me, of course) felt pretty good...and I did put down that I'm a baritone, so hopefully they take all that into account.
-
Hoping George has a good audition today.
DITTO!
-
Wow. I didn't realize that vegan "salmon" filets were a thing.
Neither did I ;D
-
I wonder what they taste like.
-
For the monologue, I didn't want to have to learn something new either, so I combined a few of my lines from A Murder is Announced (with the British accent) and I think nailed it.
-
Hoping George has a good audition today.
DITTO!
Thanks, Jane!
-
I just read about it and they actually look good. I would try these.

What's kind of cool is that the person who came in right after me to audition was the director of A Murder is Announced!
-
We got to chat a bit, so that was nice.

Hello from.the Georgia Welcome Centre
-
Hi former DR Edisuarus
-
DR GEORGE and now we wait.
-
It is 48-50 degrees here.
The Smart Car started - which it didn't on Thursday. So that's good.
-
Hello from.the Georgia Welcome Centre
Next stop: The Florida Welcome Center!
Do they still have the delicious fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit juices?
-
51 degrees here right now, DR Jrand72.
I wore my light spring/fall jacket to run my errands just now -- which included filling the gas tank, and even being out in the air then was comfortable. We're s'posed to get back to colder temperatures after the weekend, I think.
-
In the meantime, please know that the price of gas is on the rise again.
Fortunately, not by a whole lot. But it can't just, you know, "settle", can it?
$3.11 at BJ's pump today. What's the low point I paid toward the end of the year? $2.76 or thereabouts?
-
I just had this happen for the fourth or fifth time in th last couple of days, so I'll ask:
Is anyone else having Facebook give you notifications for posts or whatnot that you've already gone to, and therefore they should just shut the hell up?
-
Yes, it's up over seventy-five cents here - it's just ridiculous. They get it lower because they threaten the oil companies. Then the oil companies just raise it again until they're threatened again. There should be sanctions against them for gouging - there is zero excuse for it.
-
Yes, ChasSmith - it's been happening for a week or so.

She may be too young, but maybe next year.
-
Yay!
-
DR GEORGE and now we wait.
Yup. They said that they expect to make decisions soon, so hopefully, I'll get a call that will make me happy!
-
After the audition, I drove through Wendy's to finally get something substantial to eat, and then went to my sister's to pick up their glass recyclables because they missed their last pick-up.
-
Then, I got gas for my car because it needed it.
-
Then I drove around a bit to listen in my car to a CD that I just got...just because. :)
-
Then, I came home and put my sister's glass recyclables in the glass bin behind my condo since we can put stuff in there at any time, then I came home, which is where I am now.
-
So, my friend David was supposed to come down from Seattle to visit today, but he let me know that he can't this weekend, so he'll try for next weekend.
-
This actually turned out to be a good thing because I had signed up to usher for the Miss Thurston County Pageant tonight, with the call time being 6:45, BUT I just got a call about 10 minutes ago from the WCPA saying that the event time was changed but they forgot to update the time in the volunteer website!
-
The actual call time is 2:45!
-
So, if David had come down today, we'd have to cut short the visit by four hours!
-
But I'm not ushering (or auditioning) for anything next weekend, so we'll have all the time we need to visit. :)
-
Yay!

Well because it is streaming for free on PEACOCK.....I watched Tar.
Whew.....that was a trip. It certainly has a lot to say about music and our current culture.....I don't need to see it again, but it certainly seems to be true to the realm it purports to display.....and Cate Blanchett continues to be one of my favorite contemporary actresses.

I must say I only watched about 30 minutes of EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE because it just seemed like a confusing jumble to me.
I may try it again.....so I won't say what I think of the all of the praise for it....I can't say for sure until I see it all - if at all.

Good Afternoon. Home from playing a funeral (part of my job, I didn't know the deceased) and setting up the "Tech" for the weekend at church. Someone else has to present a video at the 7:00am mass tomorrow (I refused) so I had to make a video of how to show the video. This will all work as long as the pianist tonight does not put the computer away like she likes to do after the 5:00pm mass on Saturday. I sent her a video as well showing how everything was connected and NOT TO MOVE IT and completely shut it down and leave it where it is overnight. She says she "got it" - but I may put money on the fact that she'll forget or there will be issues. This is why I'm not a fan of my job as a "manager" - I just want a church job where all I have to do is show up and play and go home. Sorry for the rant.
So, I'm home with the boys, listening to the original cast of The Phantom of the Opera to celebrate it's 35th and FINAL birthday on Broadway.

Saturday evening greetings! It’s been a very quiet day for us. I did a couple of errands, including shopping at Central Pastry, and Richard has been trying to recover from a night of poor sleep.
-
I'm two-thirds done with proofing. I'm so overtired that getting sick could go either way right now, so I think I'll try to sleep for a couple of hours. I'm not sick or anything and I really can't let it happen, so I'm taking all my preventatives.

Yes, well, DRs Jeanne and Jane, the mold is gone, but so is a square yard of ceiling and about 2 yards of wall paneling. We’ve made some initial inquiries among friends who have recently had major home improvements done.
-
I would hate to look at that for such a long time, especially when nothing has been done to repair it.
-
Ginny, have you spoken to your insurance company for a referral?
-
I am grateful that we can video chat and watch her open our birthday gift.
We just had a video chat with Charlotte and Hannah and their parents. No gift opening, but Charlotte told me how much she likes the easel we sent her for Christmas.
-

The way the room is arranged, we aren’t looking at the mess when we’re sitting in here watching TV. It’s sort of behind my chair, not right over my head.
-
That helps some.

Super Sweet. Freyja has never told us she liked something we gave her, we only know by watching her with it.

Our insurance company is not involved.

Vixmom, I was surfing through various tweets and I just happened to come across this one:
Fortunately we had no traffic issues this year, to our great joy
-
We’re in Kissimmee
-
We are all settled in
-
About to go to bed because we’re quite tired
-
Tomorrow we meet the kids and all four of us will be attending a RenFaire
-
I slept for two and a half hours. One of the things that worries me is when I feel chilly, which I did. Well, she of the Evil Eye, unbeknownst to me, turned off the heat and it was sixty-nine and that explains that. I'm heating it up now.
-
How warm do you keep your home, BK?
-
Well I think we can get to page 8.
-
8 is doable.
-
But I won't last much beyond that, I'm afraid.
-
Not a whit.
-
No wits, either, at this point.
-
Eight!
-
Good night, friends.
-
STAY WELL VIBES FOR BRUCE!
Ditto!
-
Home after a very long day.
-
I joined friends for lunch in Boerne, a charming and rapidly growing town in the Hill Country. It's a strange place, a mix of racist militia types and new money. There are so many foodie shops in the downtown area, restaurants and bakeries, wine bars, etc.
I hadn't been in a few years and didn't recognize a lot of the place.
-
We ate at a restaurant that everyone liked -- at least before lunch.
-
They were out of a quarter of the items on the menu.
-
It took a half hour before an order of pimiento cheese showed up. It was quite good.
-
But the fried oyster po'boy that Cynthia was strange. The oysters were soggy, and the sandwich had barbecue sauce on it for some reason.
I had a lobster roll that uninspired. The green goddess-dressed potato salad was better.
Cynthia's husband, Darien, had fried catfish that he liked, but the biscuit was weird. It tasted of too much baking powder and the butter was sweet. It had something more than honey in it and it didn't react well with all that baking powder.
-
Gail had a chicken-fried steak that was so tough I couldn't chew the taste she gave me.
-
The desserts were only OK. They didn't have the chess pie I really wanted. The carrot cake would have been really good, except that they drizzled apricot jelly over it, making it too sweet and sticky. My brownie was OK, but needed nuts or something to keep it from being one note. Gail's chocolate cake was perfectly meh.
-
Afterwards, we went to Fickle Pickles, a pickle joint that has been written up nationally. I found the regular pickles to be too sweet. I bought a jar of their fiery pickles. We'll see.
-
We then went to a wedding. For a background, know that it had been raining all night and much of the day. It was cold and gray and dreary.
-
So, of course, it was an outdoor wedding.
-
The rain held off during the ceremony. The bride was lovely. The groom later played some mean electric guitar and serenaded his wife beautifully during the reception.
-
After the ceremony, we had to wait outside for about 30 minutes while they took photos. Apparently, the doors were not to be opened until the bride was ready to enter.
-
The bar was outside, so folks got liquored up a bit.
-
Then we went in for a meal that was hard for me to eat, because I had to use a fork and knife. And that is still a problem.
-
But the food, a combination plate of chicken piccata and stuffed pork loin, was fine.
-
The wedding band was excellent, playing everything from The Girl from Ipanema to songs from Grease to The Cupid Shuffle. It had a horn section, which was tight, and three talented female singers.
-
But for some reason the wedding cake wasn't served until about 3.5 hours after the reception started. A good third of the guests had left by then.
-
I didn't know the couple, but I know their parents. I wish them well.
-
I'm now at home.
-
I'm cold and tired, so I cranked the heat to 70.
-
Vixmom, I usually keep the house at 68.
-
I'm now about 75 % of the way through Salka Valka, which is good because the new Thursday Murder Club mystery has arrived. This will be volume 2 for me.
-
I need to get my hand on ice.
-
And I need to get to bed.
-
But let's get off this page.
-
Push!
-
Nine!
-
Hello, 2 guests!
-
Good night, all.

Who is going to win the pageant?
I don't even remember her name. ::)
-
And what was her talent?
Didn't see the first act, which is when the talent portion happened.
-
What color was her swimsuit?
There were no swimsuits.
-
But for some reason the wedding cake wasn't served until about 3.5 hours after the reception started. A good third of the guests had left by then.
That's weird. Why wait that long? Was it not there?
-
And now, since we're so close...
-
Gratuitous Post #250!!

I keep the home environment at 73-degrees. That's my happy temperature.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
With my viewing I'm finished.
-
That post just took ten seconds to go through.
-
That one didn't.
-
Better write some notes. My intention is to be in bed by one.
-
That is my intention.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Okay, now this is really irritating. Where did George go? Down a damn rabbit hole, same as last night?
-
No posts in almost an hour?
-
No TCB.
-
We should have been on page ten ages ago.
-
Okay, now this is really irritating. Where did George go? Down a damn rabbit hole, same as last night?
No, I nodded off.
-
I guess this is the new normal.
-
I was reading my book on my Kindle and I fell asleep.
-
Nodded off is not acceptable behavior.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I guess this is the new normal.
Bit, hey...we're on Page Ten!
-
Page ten has finally made its entrance and got nice entrance applause.
-
Up are new notes.
Can't wait to read them!
-
I just checked my e-mail, and there's nothing about the audition. ::)
-
Maybe tomorrow??
-
Oh, no! My phone battery only has 8% power!
-
I'd better plug it in!
-
...before it dies! :o
-
Plug it in NOW.
-
Before you nod off.
-
Whew! It's plugged in!
