A Very Happy Birthday to Donald!

Is there a particular part that interests you more than the others?
Jules?
The Boatman?
Any role would be okay by me...I just want to be in the show. There's also Mr./Lee Randolph.

Sending most excellent vibes for your callback, George.
Will send even more the day before.

Good morning, all!

I awoke around 4:00 to the sound of shovels scraping sidewalks. According to the news, it's a light snow.
-
I did sleep very well, although I am quite apprehensive about today's Access-a-Ride after their debacle yesterday.

Jeremy Clayton is definitely interested in illustrating A & T. I got this email last night:
I had a lovely time reading your whimsical tale of two kitties! I can absolutely envision some playful illustrations and doodles throughout.
I will see him tomorrow at City Center, since we are noth helping Joshie with Dear World.
-
Our first pet was a beautiful collie-shepherd mix. I adored him. He was loved by every kid in the neighborhood.

Could I ask you, please, to sign this petition? The police need training on coping with animals.

I found the following track available on iTunes:
"Theme From an Unknown Movie," credited to Bruce Kimmel and Grant Geissman, from the album Out At the Movies, which displays two naked men embracing on the album cover. I don't ever remember seeing this. (1999?)

THE SN*W UPDATE
:) NOTHING. :)
Yesterday morning's half-dusting was gone within an hour. One local weather person said there was an infinitesimal chance for an even lighter dusting this morning, but it didn't happen, Praise the Lord, and there is NOTHING in the forecast for the next week or more. We're in an arctic freeze now, and for the next several days, and that's just fine, thank you very much. That is all.

Good Morning - it's Wednesday the "day off". Errands, school work, and the first dress rehearsal with full orchestra for Something Rotten. In pup news - JP has graduated from sleeping in the crate to the big bed with Leo and Papa. He's been a good boy. He's a really good puppy - I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop! LOL

TOD
In my earliest years we had a dog whose name I think was "Suzie", who I recall had puppies while she was with us and they got given to new homes. I was very young and I remember just about that much and no more. This was in Columbus, and one day the family doctor told us that the reason I was going through so many colds or allergy spells was from the dog hair, and we reluctantly gave Suzie to a new home and didn't have pets for a while.
After we'd moved and had been living in Florida for a couple of years, we thought that climate might be more conducive to having a dog again, and we adopted "Babe". That's who I consider my first real pet, and she was a wonderful family dog and companion. She was with us for some 7 or 8 years, from my junior high and high school years through my family's move back to Cincinnati while I was in school in Cleveland. On my visits home, she was always happier to see me than I could ever have imagined. She later developed a tumor that was giving her problems, and it was inoperable, and one night they called and told me that they'd had to say goodbye to her.
They eventually got another dog, but that was it for me until I'd moved to Connecticut and adopted my first cats from North Shore Animal League in 1990. And it's been cats ever since.

I had the OBC of Purlie on an 8-track tape!

Anyone ever had jaggery? I tasted it today and I may have found a food too weird for me. It was in a bag of sesame balls.
Wikipedia on jaggery: Jaggery is a traditional non-centrifugal cane sugar consumed in the Indian Subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Africa. It is a concentrated product of cane juice and often date or palm sap without separation of the molasses and crystals, and can vary from golden brown to dark brown in colour.

Interesting about jaggery. Can't say I've ever experienced it.

I saw an episode of JAG once.

Does that count?

I haven't seen Jagged Little Pill.

So not much jaggery going on around these parts.

They could do a situation comedy set in India, and one character's tag line could be: "That's so JAG!"

Perhaps we'll never know.

Finished entering my fixes - many more than usual due to the style of the book, but they're all in and all helpful, I think. All of proofer one's fixes are in and I agreed with most of them and have one to run by Muse Margaret. I'll probably start proofer two in the morning.

I asked my sister and brother-in-law to drive me and then offered to buy them lunch at our favorite place, the Cloverleaf tavern for pizza?

They said I didn’t have to do that, but I insisted.
-
It wasn’t until I got to the doctors office that I realized I didn’t bring my wallet.
-
So my sister ended up buying my lunch.
-
My oldest great nephew, Elijah, came with this.
-
That was great. It was only the second time I’ve seen him since he got back from the slammer.
-
It was also the first time he’s seen my condo.

Anyway, a good time was had by all. And I finally got the pizza. I was supposed to have a year ago when I broke my ankle.

Did anyone else watch BLACK IN VEGAS tonight?
I didn't. Was it good?
It was very interesting. I had forgotten some of the horror stories of how black entertainers were treated in the 40s and 50s. Lena Horn, being not only a singer, but a movie star, insisted on being allowed to stay at the hotel where she was performing. They allowed her to do that, but every morning they burned the sheets.
-
It seemed a shame to burn the sheets, when I’m sure they could’ve found a couple of Southerners, willing to buy them and reuse them.
-
And Dorothy Dandridge dipped her toe into the swimming pool at one of the hotels, and they had to drain the entire pool.
