Well, you've read the notes, the notes had quietude and were good for the attitude, and now it is time for you to post until the quiet cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SCRUTINIZE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Today, I have my callback for Sunday in the Park with George at 10:30 a.m.!
-
I'll check in after the auditions but at some point after that, I'm off to Seattle to see a play with my friend David.
-
So BK, I most likely won't be back until after the new day, unless I leave Seattle before midnight and check in then. :)
-
And then Sunday, David is actually coming down to Olympia to visit and run some errands.
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Wishing you a swell audition, George!

TOD: Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.

Good morning, friends.

~~~SUPER-DUPER AUDITION VIBES~~~ for DR George this morning!!!!!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Very chilly here this morning. Annabelle still does not want to leave my bed for her Fancy Feast. By the time she does, Thatch and Stella will have finished it off.
-
I slept poorly, very poorly. Too many pains and too many kitty visits from Thatch and Stella, who stayed long enough to warm up, then left, and then returned later.
-
This is a ballet day. I want to rewrite the last four measures of the piece I finished yesterday, and then move on.
DR George, what are you doing up?
I don't know from Clint Eastwood.
Dear computer literate friends, I have a question: I believe that Jen told me my TV has two USB portals: one for the cable and one for the firestick, which meant disconnecting my DVD player. Well, I want it back! Is there any sort of an adaptor I can get to help me out?
-
Saturday morning greetings! Today I have 2 - count ‘em 2 - things on my calendar. For my DAR friends I’m leading a book discussion on David McCullough’s THE PIONEERS and after that there’s a social engagement that I’ll tell you about afterwards.
-
Meanwhile, here’s Page 2!
-
Wishing you a swell audition, George!
Same from me!
And, DR Rodzinski, it’s so good to have you back here!
-
DR elmore3003 - I think it is easily doable. What you are looking for is called either a USB Splitter or a USB Hub - kind of like a power strip for your port.
Good morning, all.
It was -6 when I woke up this morning, but it'll be a toasty 21 later today.
Hold the phone! Stop the presses!
DR Elmore -- those would be HDMI ports, not USB ports. (They're slightly larger than USB, with beveled ends.)
I just did a little googling on this, and what you need is an HDMI switch, not splitter. A "switch" and a splitter are two different things. I just read quickly through this article (so now I'm a renowned expert on this), and you should do the same before you order one: https://cnet.co/3JLnQ09
Thanks! I've sent the link to Jen, asking her opinion. I'll deal with it once I've heard from her.
I'm listening to the new cast album of Into the Woods. I'm not crazy about the show, but the album strangely finds me tearing up again and again.
Thanks for catching that and for the correction, DR ChasSmith. What I meant and what I typed are not necessarily the same thing. ::)
Good morning, all.
More than eight hours of sleep, which is great.
Listening to Into the Woods, I am reminded of David Wilson's wonderful tragic novel, The Coachman Rat, about the rat the fairy godmother changed into Cinderella's coachman, The story is about a rat treated kindly by a young girl with a fairy godmother. After she marries the Prince, the word gets out that she is a witch, and the peasants storm the castle, killing everyone and executing Cinderella as a witch. The story ends with this man straddling the worlds of rats and men, as the Pied Piper leading the rats of Hamelin to their deaths. It's one of the most haunting books I know.
On Friday night, a new national record for lowest wind chill temperature was likely recorded at the tallest peak in the Northeast,
Mount Washington in New Hampshire, with a reported wind chill of minus 108 degrees Fahrenheit – thanks to a temperature of minus 46 and wind gusts of 127 mph.
Wind chill records are not historically tracked as closely as temperature records, but the mark would beat other lows set.
Went to the grocery and bought too much.
-
I got a text that one med was ready for pickup. I didn’t get it. They wanted $95 for it. I usually pay $14. Somebody screwed something up somewhere.
-
I also picked up a suit from the dry cleaners. It cost $21. I think the suit, which I bought five or six years ago, only cost $85 on sale.
-
That is wild, DR John G.
-
And not in a good way.
I have had a very long day. I am very small. And I have no money.
DR Jeanne, I am very pleased your little electric heater is worker out for you. Vibes you never have to turn the gas one on again.
Jeanne, Keith found Corner Gas. I asked and he doesn't recall how he found it. It was too long ago. He might have found it searching for quirky shows.
Thanks Jeanne regarding Keith's uncle.
From John:
She was also great in Prince of Tides.
I had forgotten Dillon played the sister. Yes, she was excellent in that.
My texts from the pharmacy mention the "estimated" cost. Did you have to go to the pharmacy to find out the cost was unusually high?
Oh, God, another catastrophe! My home phone has a looooong cord so I can cart it around the apartment. Since I've been waiting for a call from Jeremy Clayton, I took the phone across my living space to my work table. So, at 2:30 when I started to get the cats' dinner, I took the phone back to the computer table and set it down with this loooong cord hanging everywhere. I brought the cats' dinners out on my rolling tray, set the food down, and the cats came running. As I rolled the cart past Thatch -I do this every meal - he panicked and jumped back, got caught in the phone cord, and trying to untangle himself, he dragged the phone across the room, knocking everything on the computer table, except - thank God! - the computer to the floor. By the time he was untangled, the phone was in pieces by my bed. He vanished under my bed, and I had a huge mess to clean up.
-
I just called Ann and asked her to come down and help me find him. I do not know if he's injured or not, I don't know if he's still shaken up, and all I know is he's under the bed, Stella has eaten his dinner, and he will not come out when I call him.
Good Afternoon. It's raining again, after a week of clear skies. Had a rehearsal with a few Matilda cast members this morning then drove to San Jose to get two of my accordions looked at - one was repaired on the spot, the other was hopeless so it will become a lovely display in my living room or classroom, as it's quite lovely to look at. Just too expensive to repair. Tonight, I'm back to Something Rotten and I have to say, I STILL don't get it. People rave over this show, and yes - I get all the musical theatre references, etc... but I don't think the rest is funny. I guess if I was more into Shakespeare, I'd get it, but maybe I should just sit down and really read the script.
Anyway - looking forward to hearing about DR George's callback today!
-
six!!!!!!
-
The first part of the auditions were the singing.
-
We learned the end part of the opening number (where each character had a very quick part of the line), and then the end of "We Do Not Belong Together."
-
That went well for most...but we got through it to the music director's satisfaction.
-
Then we read scenes and that took the rest of the time...we actually went over, but they said if people have to leave, then they were free to go.
-
A few did leave, but most of the audition was done by then.
-
;) ;) ;)
Certainly an excess amount of hot air.
-
I read scenes for all the men except George...which was to be expected. ;)
-
There were four other adult men, including Jed, so there's a bit of competition.
My other commitment today was a 75th birthday party for my friend Carolyn. BK, thank you for sharing the Cindy Williams tribute. Ever since the news broke about her death I’d been wondering why I hadn’t watched “Laverne and Shirley.” Well, the tribute host talked about the great Tuesday night lineup and, in the ‘70s, I worked Tuesday and Thursday evenings in the library. Mystery solved.
I forgot to mention this morning that last night I had a HHW dream. There was this big gathering of Hainsies and Kimlets. It was in a restaurant with booths, and we had about 6 or 7 contiguous booths. There were lots of DRs there, but the only one I remember specifically, besides BK, was S. Woody White. Which is odd, since I never met him in person.
Am watching more of The Larkins. It’s wonderful.
-
Dancing tonight was exhausting.
-
Enjoyed watching the interviews today.
Great photos of Cindy and BK.
-
Loved her Foster Grant Sunglasses commercial.
And the kissing scenes that BK wrote for the Donny and Marie Shows. 💋
-
Bruce, when you were introduced as an “accomplished actor extraordinaire”, the expression on your face was priceless. 😊
-
Good night, all.
-
When the discussion turned to the 70’s shows, and how likable the characters were, as well as the physical comedy, I immediately thought of SAMI.
It will be nice to see those wonderful qualities again.
-
Hoping to hear good news from George after his callback audition today.
-
Safe travels to Vixmom and Vixdad.
You can still turn around and head back, you know.
-
The weather will be warming up on the East Coast over the next few days.
Might even hit 50 degrees.
-
Off to polish my Foster Grant Sunglasses.
Good night, HHW.
-
Good night, John.
-
Oh, one more thing.
-
My favorite photo was the one of BK and Cindy at the premiere of The First Nudie Musical in Westwood.
Such a charming photograph.
-
Good night once more.
😴
-
BK, I thought your portion of the interview had the most resonance. Also glad you went without baseball cap.
-
Thanks for all the nice comments.
-
Glad George's audition went well. I have a feeling he'll get it.
-
No TCB.
-
No George, who must be down a rabbit hole or in Seattle or some foul thing.
-
Page nine has made its entrance.
-
And my second bit of good news: Jeremy Clayton will illustrate Annabelle & Thatch: Cat Tales from West 82nd Street. We had a lovely telephonic discussion and sealed the deal.
CONGRATULATIONS, ELMORE!
TCB in the nick o' time.
