Well, you've read the notes, the notes went back to Bacharach, and now it is time for you to post until the Bacharach cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SURVIVAL!
-
Well, I checked my e-mail and my first Sunday in the Park with George music rehearsal will be Saturday, March 4. Then, not again until March 25. After that, we'll start regular rehearsals in April. :)

Well, I checked my e-mail and my first Sunday in the Park with George music rehearsal will be Saturday, March 4. Then, not again until March 25. After that, we'll start regular rehearsals in April. :)
Lot of time to prep!
-
Was just listening to that Promises Promises cast album. I like the version of the title cut from that production. Was great to see live.
-
I interviewed Sean Hayes by phone during that run, and he was a bit snappish. Then the next day I saw him at a hamburger place and I did not disturb him.
-
Then I was looking for Lost Horizon soundtrack on Spotify, but only could find a version of “The World is a Circle” sung by a Vicky Calver. Well, whoever she is, she did a swell job. So I don’t have to dig out my LP.
-
Is “Promises, Promises” the shortest title song from any major Broadway musical ever?
-
Is “Promises, Promises” the shortest title song from any major Broadway musical ever?
Nope...there's Mame, at least.
-
George, I look forward to hearing all about your rehearsals.
-
Also looking forward to seeing BK’s book cover and watching SAMI on Amazon Prime in April.
-
I adored Burt Bacharach.
He was so debonair.
-
I remember those Martini and Rossi commercials with Burt and Angie.
-
His songs were everywhere in the late 60’s, and early 70’s.
Been listening to many of his compositions over the last few hours.
-
Raindrops Keep Fallin’ On My Head

Feeling very nostalgic.
-
I had friends who worked in several restaurants that he frequented in L.A.
They all said that he was incredibly kind, generous and friendly.
A true gentleman.
-
For anyone on the Facebook, I just posted three Bacharach and David songs sung by Guy Haines.
-
I’m not on Facebook, but would love to hear them.
-
The shooter in my area has still not been arrested.
Police are “negotiating” with him.
He has already shot 2 officers and stolen their police car.
-
This is taking place in a very safe, wooded suburb of Baltimore County.
I shall refrain from posting my true thoughts on this situation.
It is outrageous.
-
George, I look forward to hearing all about your rehearsals.
I'll definitely post about it!
-
Oh, I do have Broadway Sings the Best of Burt Bacharach, so I am able to listen to one song by Guy Haines.😊
-
Just received word that the shooting suspect is in custody.
-
The reason that it took so long was because the police officers did not wish to harm him.
🙄
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another good night of sleep.
-
I have much on my agenda today. After kitty cleanup, I must begin my IRS prep, so I will begin the Big Printout, in which I will print invoices for all relevant purchases for 2022. I have not yet received my Social Security 1099 yet, and that bothers me.
-
DR vixmom, did someone give you a livestock joke book? I loved the cow jokes.
-
Where the fat hell is our DR TCB?
-
In the 1960s and 70s I was a Broadway cast album boy. I knew - and liked - a few Bacharach songs but it was Promises Promises that made him legit for me. So, I do like very much:
Promises Promises
Knowing When To Leave
I'll Never Fall in Love Again
Alfy
Message to Michael
Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head
Do You Know the Way to San Jose?
The Blob
Window Wishing
-
Good morning, friends.
-
No one here but us cows and chickens.
-
Cracking corny jokes. :)
-
I, too, am worried about DR TCB.
-
~~~CONTINUED MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for bk!!!!!!!!
-
Glad to know the shooter is finally in custody, Iris.
-
Would someone with Tom’s phone number please give him a call?
After the whole WFO debacle I’m very anxious
-
I had a very strange dream featuring a young man in our office
-
He’s a bit of a wheeler and dealer and has fingers in many pies
-
In this dream, he planted drugs in my house during a party I was throwing ( oddly it was not my house , but my mom’s) and then called in a tip to the police and had my house raided
-
Happily, I had been aware of the drugs and had already disposed of them before the police arrived
-
But I was very angry
-
Vixdad said I was shouting “Apologize ! Apologize!”
-
He was much relieved to learn I was not shouting at him
-
Burt Bacharach music was always there as I was growing up.
-
I don’t know when I first put together the man and the music but the music was always there, radio, television and my dad’s stereo.
-
Maybe I will Wordle
Good morning, all.
-
Scary stuff, Iris. Glad you are safe.
-
Had weird dreams related to The Menu. My visit to the fancy destination restaurant was on a night when most of the staff was off and we were served lousy food. I was bored. Everything seemed second rate.
-
Vibes for TCB. Hope he graces us with a visit soon.
-
Wordle 3, Phoodle 2.
-
I’m slow in starting the day.
-
Hand was not happy last night with the wrapping. On kept the splint on, but I had yo lose the ace bandages.
-
Three!
-
TOD
I have to finish The Menu and catch up with the latest episode of Miss Scarlet.
-
DR Rodsinzki, did you like that revival of Promises, Promises?
-
I hated what Rob Ashford did with it. But I am not a fan of his.
-
DR John G., talk to the hand.
-
Tell it who's boss.
-
Were you told how protracted the recovery period would be?
-
I am trying to remember - were there any other BK-produced albums along the lines of:
The Stephen Sondheim Album
The Stephen Schwartz Album
The Burt Bacharach Album
-
I do hope that DR vixmom will continue her series and run through the entire barnyard gamut.
-
Because farming isn't for everyone, but hay, it's in my jeans.
-
You've goat to be kidding me.
-
And sheep happens.
-
I'll see myself out.
-
We're back to below zero windchills.
-
But we're halfway to a new page,
-
So there's that.
-
[insert Randy Vicar joke here]
-
Perhaps it will be a jaggery day.
-
The doorbell just rang.
-
It was Tiler Peck, from next door.
-
She wanted to borrow a cup of paprika.
-
Glad you are out of harm's way, DR DR Iris.
-
I think they should re-name this new West Coast production Sunday in the Park with George with Jed and George.
-
With a few well-placed emu jokes, we could be on page six by now.
-
I think they should re-name this new West Coast production Sunday in the Park with George with Jed and George.
;D
-
She wanted to borrow a cup of paprika.
She’s always short of paprika.
-
I hated what Rob Ashford did with it. But I am not a fan of his.
He's the worst.
-
Why did the emu cross the road?
-
He has no idea. He’s an emu.
-
Onward.
-
Four!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Friday.
And a crazy one for me. I'm playing a gig this afternoon that requires meeting up with the two other people involved and driving out to somewhere in deepest darkest Connecticut.
-
The thing is only an hour long but the logistics are such that it will consume the entire afternoon.
-
Best vibes for all in the meantime!
-
Good morning!
Wordle: 4/6
~~~GIG VIBES~~~ for DR ChasSmith and compatriots as you travel Into the Woods.
-
Glad to hear the shooter is in custody, DR Iris.
-
Gratuitous post 99!
-
DR John G, I’m having a hard time remembering much about that Promises production, which isn’t a great sign that I loved it. It feels both manic and listless in my memory. I think I wanted it to be better.
-
Because farming isn't for everyone, but hay, it's in my jeans.
Hahahahahaha
-
If it was in my jeans, I would prolly faint, too.
-
Nitpicking vibes for MR BK.
-
I think DR VIXMOM was trying to start a MOOvement last night.
-
I am liking all of the Burt Bacharach lists.
Thanks to DR IRIS for mentioning the Martini & Rossi ads with Burt and Angie.
I remember how they used to take up just the edge of the page in Esquire magazine......
-
Scary story from DR IRIS last night.
-
Good news about WFO!
-
I decided not to go to the store today - I really don't need anything. Monday will probably be the day......

From the Department of Things Unnecessary. From the WaPo’s book editor:
Oh, bother. The copyright on “Winnie-the-Pooh” expired at the end of 2021, and believe me, the Hundred Acre Wood has changed a lot. On Feb. 15, Jagged Edge Productions will release a slasher called “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey.” In this nightmare version, written and directed by Rhys Frake-Waterfield, a feral Pooh and Piglet reportedly justify Eeyore’s morose mood by eating him. From there, the two fuzzy friends terrorize Christopher Robin and a group of college students camping in the forest. Spoiler alert: They all suffer fates far worse than getting stuck in Rabbit’s door.
-
I rarely escape unscathed when I sing "Wives and Lovers" to my wife.
-
DR Vixmom, thanks for the good news Bill didn't have a stroke.
-
I am sorry DR WFO is still in the hospital. It sounds discouraging.
-
SENDING MORE VIBES FOR DR WFO!
-
DR John, I will not be surprised if Holmes successfully flees.
-
DR Iris, I am reading your sad and scary posts.
-
DR George, congrats on your nice new vanity that does not need to be assembled.
-
DR Rodzinski, I have removed wall paper twice. The first time was in our bedroom of our newly purchased home. The paper was so bad it basically peeled off.
-
The second time was in Bryan's room of our next new home. His paper was two layers and nice, except it was flowers. That took about a week of hard work to get off.
-
I interviewed Sean Hayes by phone during that run, and he was a bit snappish. Then the next day I saw him at a hamburger place and I did not disturb him.
;D
-
Just received word that the shooting suspect is in custody.
Thank goodness. I hope you were able to sleep.
-
The reason that it took so long was because the police officers did not wish to harm him.
🙄
Trying for good PR. I also understand it would be difficult to simply shoot him if it seemed the shooter couldn't hurt anyone at that moment.
-
Vixdad said I was shouting “Apologize ! Apologize!”
:))
-
He was much relieved to learn I was not shouting at him
;D
-
HAND VIBES FOR DRS JOHN & TCB!

Friday.
And a crazy one for me. I'm playing a gig this afternoon that requires meeting up with the two other people involved and driving out to somewhere in deepest darkest Connecticut.
Safe travels and have a good gig.
-
I remember when my parents bought our house in Connecticut. We had rooms with layer upon layer of wallpaper, and paint on top of that.
We had to rent a steamer and it was a mess that took a LOT of elbow grease to remedy.
-
DR Rodzinski, I have removed wall paper twice. The first time was in our bedroom of our newly purchased home. The paper was so bad it basically peeled off.
The paper peeled off nicely, but the adhesive beneath has been more of a pain.
-
I built my own fort!
-
I rarely escape unscathed when I sing "Wives and Lovers" to my wife.
I rarely escape unscathed when I sing anything.
-
Would you wear this for "smart casual" day?
Asking for a friend...
-
You should get new friends.
-
;D
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
The police didn't want to harm him - you know, when someone has already shot two officers I don't think that should be a concern.
-
Stagecoach premiered on this day in 1939.
-
I just saw an online article entitled "12 short novels you can start and complete during the Super Bowl."
-
Wow! Scarey news about Winnie the Pooh!
-
Also looking forward to seeing BK’s book cover and watching SAMI on Amazon Prime in April.
Ditto!!

Glad I don't like horror films! :o
-
A few years ago, there was a slasher version of The Banana Splits (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9831136/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0). :P
-
But it was only A. A. Milne's original version of Winnie-the-Pooh that's in the public domain. The Disney version is still very much in copyright.
-
DR George, congrats on your nice new vanity that does not need to be assembled.
Thanks, Jane!

HAND VIBES FOR DRS JOHN & TCB!

No..just...no.
-
I just saw an online article entitled "12 short novels you can start and complete during the Super Bowl."
You can complete all 12?? :o
-
I didn't read the article, but I think it meant ONE of the twelve. :)
-
But,
-
Since we're so close,
-
Page Six!
-
I remember when my parents bought our house in Connecticut. We had rooms with layer upon layer of wallpaper, and paint on top of that.
We had to rent a steamer and it was a mess that took a LOT of elbow grease to remedy.
Fortunately we only had one room like that. We used a solution that we/I sponged on to soften the paper before peeling.
-
DR Rodzinski, I have removed wall paper twice. The first time was in our bedroom of our newly purchased home. The paper was so bad it basically peeled off.
The paper peeled off nicely, but the adhesive beneath has been more of a pain.
Right, that needed another layer of sopping with the sponge.
-
Keith put the new wallpaper up and it looked like a boys room.
-
I built my own fort!
;D
-
You should get new friends.
:))
-
The police didn't want to harm him - you know, when someone has already shot two officers I don't think that should be a concern.
I doubt that was really their concern.
-
I rarely escape unscathed when I sing "Wives and Lovers" to my wife.
I rarely escape unscathed when I sing anything.
😆
-
I didn't read the article, but I think it meant ONE of the twelve. :)
Googling the subject I found multiple lists of books that can be read. The books tend to be short so how many you read would depend on how fast a reader you are, or if you watch the commercials. I do believe the expectation is one book read during the Superbowl.
-
I found one article titled THE BOOK-LOVER’S GUIDE TO COVERTLY READING DURING A SUPER BOWL PARTY ;D
-
;D
That would be me!
-
Me, too.
-
I always wondered about this Hal David lyric:
And just because you think you’re slow
It doesn’t mean you’re slow, you know
And even if you’re never first
Compared to someone whose last
They’re sure to think you are fast
—
Um, what if I came in last?
-
Now a Super Book party would be welcome
-
;D
That would be me!
;D
-
Me, too.
:)
-
Now a Super Book party would be welcome
Yup.
-
One year I hosted a Superbowl party at my brother's house (so Craig could watch the game). I was the only one who stayed in the kitchen the entire time visiting with anyone who wanted food ;)
-
I expected Keith to keep me company but he watched the game.
-
Um, what if I came in last?
Then you are banished to the Lost Horizon.
-
I didn't read the article, but I think it meant ONE of the twelve. :)
Oh...that certainly makes more sense. ;D
-
I hope DR CHAS SMITH finds his way home from the outback.
-
Thank you for all of your concern regarding the active shooter.
-
He led police on a 39 hour manhunt.
He shot the first police officer on Wednesday night.
-
He shot the second police officer last night and stole his police cruiser.
That officer is currently on life support.
He then hid in a wooded area for hours with his 2 rifles, while officers negotiated with him.
-
Here’s the thing.
I was reluctant to bring up this subject, but…
-
Baltimore has a terrible problem with racism.
Unarmed Black men are frequently pulled over while driving and shot by police officers for no reason.
This happens every single day.
-
They didn’t shoot this suspect because he was white.
Had he been Black, he would have been shot and killed immediately after he shot the first officer.
-
I just wanted to clarify the situation, and hope that this harsh dose of reality doesn’t offend anyone here at HHW.
-
When they apprehended him at dawn today, he was treated very well and was unharmed.
That’s why I said the situation was outrageous last night.
Tricky subject, and I try to be careful when I bring it up.
-
Vibes for WFO
Hope we hear from TCB tonight.
-
Page seven!
-
There is a 16 minute “soundtrack suite” from Lost Horizon on YouTube.
I never know how to share those links here, unfortunately, but maybe someone else can.
-
The problem might be with my very old iPad.
Am always able to share videos and photos by email, however.
Need to take a class in HHW 101. 😊
-
They didn’t shoot this suspect because he was white.
Had he been Black, he would have been shot and killed immediately after he shot the first officer.
I was afraid that was the case and hoped not.
-
The shooter’s father was also a criminal.
He was convicted a few years ago for manufacturing and distributing child pornography.
-

That’s why I said the situation was outrageous last night.
Tricky subject, and I try to be careful when I bring it up.
Tricky but fair. It changes my perception, not that I understand why they were react differently to a white person vs a black person who shot two officers.
-
The shooter’s father was also a criminal.
::) :-\
-
The second officer, who is on life support, would have been killed, had he not been wearing a bulletproof vest.
-
I am in love with Liebchen, the traveling cat.

-
DR elmore, that cat is adorable!
Love the goggles and jacket. ❤️
-
Have you watched the videos of Harpo the cat on YouTube?
You would love him.
-
Just finished The Menu. The women were better than the men — and the script.
-
Now off to dinner.
-
Here's the Lost Horizon soundtrack suite that DR DR Iris was talking about:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oyNqx4Mb2LA
-
I'm not offended by your posts, DR DR Iris. It was what I suspected. It makes me sad and angry.
-
For those that like to swallow their vibrators:
-
The second officer, who is on life support, would have been killed, had he not been wearing a bulletproof vest.
I hope he will be ok.
-
I don't see the names of the officers who were shot.
-
For those that like to swallow their vibrators:
Speechless.
-
Baltimore has a terrible problem with racism.
Unarmed Black men are frequently pulled over while driving and shot by police officers for no reason.
This happens every single day.
And unfortunately, that situation is not unique to Baltimore. >:(

Gratuitous Post #201!!

Yikes! :o

If you copy the URL (there's a "share" link on each YouTube page), you can just post that, like this:

Like Larry and Singdaw did. ;)

I really don't care for my kind of humor.
-
It's not tricky - they should have taken him down - shoot two police officers, no one needs to be nice. That's my feeling.
-
Did our little finessing, and now we're just waiting on the final green screen (we got the other one this morning and it looks swell), one final mix that goes with the green screen, two incidental cues, and one fix for a song, plus Monday's re-recording of a song.

Sounds like good progress.

Watching a documentary called My Rembetika Blues, about a style of Greek music with an Asian strain that came from ethnic influences. The music isn’t entirely my style, but the story is. I would like to hear it live.
-
Good evening.
-
Traffic is madness here this week. I'll be glad when the football season is over.
-
So many steps and pieces for a creative project, aren't there?
-
I don't know how one would keep track of it all.
-
Perhaps DR TCB will check in tonight.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Sorry folks! I am not being aloof, but my breathing has been very bad this week, so I am staying in bed moSt of the time. Hopefully, I will return soon!
-
TCB! So good to see you!
Very sorry that you’re not feeling well.
Feel better soon. You are missed! ❤️
-
All the best, Tom. We’ve missed you.
-
I fell asleep before the end of the documentary.
-
BK, totally agree.
I meant “tricky” in terms of the subject of racism, particularly with police officers.
-
Jane, i don’t think the names of the shooting victims have been released.
The second victim is a police detective, still in the trauma unit.
-
Singdaw, thank you for both posts.
-
John G., I was interested in The Menu, but am very sensitive to bloody and violent scenes.
Couldn’t finish The Banshees, for example, because of the scenes where fingers are chopped off.
Same with Holly Hunter in the film, The Piano. How graphic is The Menu?
-
I rarely escape unscathed when I sing "Wives and Lovers" to my wife.
I rarely escape unscathed when I sing anything.
😆
I always escape unscathed when I sing…everyone is too busy rolling around on the floor holding their ears and moaning to do anything to me .
-
TCB thank you for checking in, I am sorry you’re unwell but thank us to hear from you.
Sending you love and hugs and vibes and prayers

What do you call a sheep on steroids?

Why did the lamb call the police?

He had been fleeced

Oh page 9 by the way

BTW as the kids say
-
Kids say the darnedest things
-
I sat on the couch like so much fish, remote in hand, trying to see what movies were new to Prime and I fell asleep. I kept having weird dreams, would wake up, see the TV had already gone to sleep like me, looked at the remote, was confused, then fell back asleep. I finally woke up, found that Trapeze was new to Prime (I'd tried to watch it on Tubi but it was horrid and pan-and-scan), so I began watching that and was out like a light ten minutes in, and woke up about twenty minutes before it ended. I'll probably watch it again. I saw it when it came out and liked it a lot.
-
TCB showed up so I am happy.
-
You’ll never get to Heaven if you break my heart.
-
I really don't care for my kind of humor.
Kinda sounds like Groucho's quote: "I don’t want to belong to any club that would have me as a member."
;D
-
It's not tricky - they should have taken him down - shoot two police officers, no one needs to be nice. That's my feeling.
Makes perfect sense.

~~~NEVER ENDING VIBES FOR TOM!!~~~
-
Tonight, I ushered for a local production of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville.
-
Wow! It was fantastic! VERY funny, and very well acted across the board.
-
Five actors played about 40 characters, and everyone was so good. Highly recommended by the likes of me!
-
Gratuitous Post #260!! ;D
My desktop computer had to restart to update the virus protection. ::)
New notes are up.
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
I've read them.
I wrote them.
