Well, you've read the notes, the notes moved right along, and now it is time for you to post until the moving right along cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BESOTTED!
-
Last night, I had to restart my computer to update the virus protection, and now, I have 18 apps to update on my phone. ::)
-
If it's not an app that I use or installed, I don't update it, but all of these are apps that I use. It won't take too long, but it's a necessary evil. ;)

TOD:
I have never seen Trapeze, nor Sweet Smell of Success.
I believe both films starred Burt Lancaster and Tony Curtis.
For those who have seen them, would you recommend either? Or both?
-
Good morning, all!
-
I am in bad physical shape these days. This morning, my back is killing me and I can barely stand up. I have a lunch date with two friends tomorrow, but I think I may have to pass on it.
-
It was quite cold last night. I slept well. I had two dreams last night. One was something to do about attending a performance of The Threepenny Opera. I later dreamed that I was in a car driving along the East River across from Manhattan to Manhattan. I have no idea now who was driving, but we had to drop off a passenger at Third Avenue and 77th Street. It was Lotte Lenya.
-
Today I will work on the ballet and my income taxes. This week, I sent Doug Fullington - who's behind this ballet - the first third of the long opening number. He's been copying my scores, which he plays back on his computer. Yesterday he wrote me: Loving how this sounds!
-
Wonderful feedback you received, Elmore.
-
I am sorry you are feeling so poorly, I hope you don’t have to cancel tomorrow’s lunch plans

When I see Tony Curtis’ name the first thing I think of is Some Like It Hot

I'm so happy that we finally heard from DR TCB.

I did enjoy Sweet Smell of Success

Burt Lancaster I generally think of Elmer Gantry

And Birdman of Alcatraz

Hello, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
Hello!
It feels like weeks since I last posted. In fact, it must be.
Have been somewhat out of sorts and off my daily schedule.
I don't know why.
Like Larry, I am not always at my physical best and it leaves me feeling lethargic.
-
Tomorrow is the Superbowl, apparently.
-
The weather has been rather drab this week, and we expect a ton or so of rain today and tonight.
-
I will not be watching.
-
Tomorrow is the Superbowl, apparently.
What's that?
-
Although a kid I knew tangentially when he was growing up will be playing.
-
Sorry you've been feeling out of sorts, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
There are two brothers playng, one on each team. Each has been in a Super Bowl game before and each has a ring.
I think the family name is Kelce.
-
Sorry you've been feeling out of sorts, DR Ron Pulliam.
Thank you, splatdraw! Only I can get myself back into sorts, but I tend to procrastinate.
-
It is time for my morning coffee and blueberry muffin.
-
A living room rug for your consideration:
-
It's probably not worthy of DR Laura's "casino" series, but still...
-
Would a cat or a dog sit directly in the middle, do you think?
-
I love how the throw pillow is being pulled into the vortex.
-
I went to a pub and had a ploughman's lunch.
-
He wasn't happy.
-
It was nice to see DR TCB & DR Ron checking in.
-
HEALTH VIBES FOR EVERYONE!
-
Why is "artwork" like that rug popular these days. They are dangerous ;D
-
The alarm went off at 4:30 this morning.
-
We needed to do an errant at 5:00.

I now have the first of three loads in the washing machine.
-
Good morning,all.
-
Slept for nine hours.
-
Iris, The Menu has some disturbing scenes. But most is implied.
-
There is a finger scene in it too.
-
Speaking of which, my finger is not happy this morning.
-
Let's move on
-
Greetings from parts besotted.
Oddly, when I lived with my sis when I first moved to New York I lived at 77th and 3rd where DR Elmore dropped Lotte Lenya off in his dream. Lesley Gore lived in our building. I never saw her, only her mail.

-
Uncle Joe just turned the Shady Rest Hotel into a fat farm.
-
DR IRIS I would highly recommend both films you mentioned.
I like SWEET SMELL OF SUCCESS a bit more than TRAPEZE - but both are certainly interesting and entertaining.
And in SUCCESS you get a lot of 1957-58 NYC location filming. And Marty Milner framed for dope!
-
I would like to see ALL THE FINE YOUNG CANNIBALS again.....I only saw it once way back when.....it does not star either Tony or Burt.

Tomorrow is the World Series.

Vibes for DR TCB!
-
And Marty Milner playing righteous jazz guitar!
-
Sweet Smell is a must see. But it’s not an uplifting ride.
-
Those are two actors I like in anything. Both, especially Burt, chose some challenging roles.
Fave Burt: The Swimmer and Local Hero.
Fave Tony: The Great Race and Sex and the Single Girl.
Tony did several films with his wartime buddy Larry Storch. Just got him parts whenever he could which I thought was cool.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Busy busy busy this morning - then I'll have some free time before hustling off to this evening's gig.

Speaking of which, my finger is not happy this morning.

Listening to Beethoven’s Sixth played by three musicians, Emanuel Ax, Yo-Yo Ma and Leonidas Kavakos. Lovely.

They’re auctioning off Larry McMurtry’s belongings in town at the end of May.
-
I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep.
-
I wanna go, but I would have to take a day off work.
-
Iris, Sweet Smell of Success is a brilliant but dark film. Trapeze is a melodrama but fun.
-
TOD:
Lancaster
I enjoy him in just about anything, especially Local Hero, Atlantic City and The Crimson Pirate.
Curtis
Sweet Smell of Success
Some Like It Hot
The Great Race

For all you TURANDOT fans, a new recording of Puccini's opera will be released in London on March 10, and later in the USA. It's unique in that it is only the second recording of the opera to record the original 12-minute ending composed by Alfano after Puccini's death. Performances usually end where Puccini stopped writing and died.

Saturday afternoon greetings! I have been in a crafty class on Zoom all day. It was all about coloring with Copic markers, which I own but haven’t used much. Maybe what I learned today will inspire me.
-
I was just reading about that in Gramophone, DR elmore3003. Sounds intriguing.
-
I have never heard of Coptic markers, DR Ginny, but that is also intriguing.
-
I have been reading about drugs, prescription & over the counter, that I cannot take to Japan.

They are very strict there.

What is the other recording, Larry? My favorite recording of all time is the Zubin Mehta-conducted "Turnadot" with Joan Sutherland and Luciano Pavarotti. So lushly beautiful!!

Will you have to report that as income for this year?

A major storm has just arrived and thunder/lightning are scaring the britches off me!
-
I hope your storm has passed and all is good.

Thank you BK,vixmom, DR Jrand, and Rodzinski for answering my question about the 2 films.
I plan to watch both of them in the near future.
-
Thank you, John G. for information regarding The Menu.
I checked out more details on decider.com, and have realized it’s not for me!
I dislike horror films of all kinds, and really don’t do well with any scenes that show bloody violence.
-
I have a very vivid imagination, so even implied bloody violence gives me nightmares.
It’s a shame, really, because the movie is appealing to me in many ways, as is the lead actor.
-
John G., sending healing vibes for your hand.

Jane, you had asked about the Baltimore detective who was shot numerous times.
He is still on life support.
I’m not on Facebook, but there are updates about him there, posted by Justin Berk, a local meteorologist.
-
We were watching Meet Me in St. Louis tonight.
There was a jarring moment during "Skip to My Lou" when it sounded like they were singing "Jewish partners," but it turns out it was just "Choose partners."
-
I don't like scary movies or violence (implied or otherwise) either, DR DR Iris.
-
Good night, friends.

Hello, my dim sum buddy!

The Manitou is a nice trashy horror film Tony Curtis starred in.

Good night Singdaw and Jane. 😌

Trader Joe's "Unexpected" Cheddar Cheese Spread, and Honey Wheat Pretzels (which I'd ordinarily never have an interest in, but they hold up well to the thickness of the cheese spread).
It's what they were serving at the sampling station, and I'm so glad it's back.

Very long night of dancing.

I just now realized that I didn't get drawer pulls and handles! :o
-
Oh...the chrome pulls and handles that are in the pictures are included. They're good enough (for now, at least). I don't think I need to replace those.
-
But then again, the faucet that I got is brushed nickel. Maybe I do need to replace them. I'll see what it all looks like when it's done.

Really?

What a light posting day.

Why?

Wherefore art thou, postings?

And George has gone down some rabbit hole.

This is most unseemly.

There is no beauty in page six when there's a page seven.

There is no beauty in page seven when there's a page eight.

Will no one rid me of this meddlesome page seven?

But it can be done with a little spirit and joie de vivre.

You know it, I know it, the man in the moon knows it.
