Well, you've read the notes, the notes were vice versa, and now it is time for you to post until the vice versa cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: NURTURE!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Good morning, Larry...and good night. I'm off to bed. 8)
Have a good day, all!
-
I spent all day Thursday thinking it was Friday. Today feels like a Saturday.
-
George! You party animal, get to bed.
-
I have my laundry card in my pocket and the walker is carrying several bundles of dirty clothes, so I guess I'm doing the laundry.
-
After my coffee.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
It will be interesting to see if the production of Baby that DR George is going to see is the original version, or the new version with all the re-writes (making the middle couple lesbians, for example).
-
I don't know about y'all, but after yesterday, I'm still rappin' and rhymin' like mad.
-
Not necessarily in that order.
-
And what is order but a temporary arrangement, really?
-
How very philosophical.
-
Too early in the morning for that kind of nonsense.
-
Yesterday I got 2 shots and 3 attempts at a blood draw, so I feel sufficiently poked and prodded to last for a while.
-
My body seems to like to hold onto its blood; the lab technicians always have a terrible time of it with me.
-
When it's over, I feel like I should give them a lollipop.
-
And they always want to make small talk.
-
I am not good at small talk.
-
For example, if you could pay extra to have your barber cut your hair in complete silence, I would do that.
-
Good morning.
-
I spent the week at Disneyland.
-
It was very cold. I don't remember ever being that cold at Disneyland. I would put a jacket on in the evening, but I've never been cold all day.
-
We've been looking forward to this trip for five years. We had so much fun, with only one meltdown when Mama said he couldn't ride Thunder Mountain.
She did let him ride it, and it was his favorite ride.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Laura, your story is just precious.
-
People are just rude, aren’t they?
-
I wanted another hour of sleep. It wasn’t in the cards.
-
Onward!
-
Two!

This question came once before, as well. Which makes me wonder: How often do people not ask?
-
Good morning, all.
-
We froze our ASSES off at Disney World in Florida in January 2015.
-
DR CHAS SMITH did you have to have all your clothes altered?
-
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
-
Well - for those who asked - this time around the men seemed like such losers and way back when I thought they were pretty cool......
-
I really liked Rappin' and Rhymin'.
The choreography was fantastic and fresh!
-
DR LAURA I'm glad you had a good - if cold - trip.
-
Laundry vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
I am glad that MR BK is at last synched!
-
My air fryer is a different brand.
WHEW!
DR singdaw - I like mine. I use it mainly for fries and pizza rolls - they come out crispy. When I do them in the oven, they sometimes come out soggy.
I have also used it for hot dogs and biscuits.
-
I sat in the laundry room and read for the wash cycles, and I've got 45 minutes before I need to go back to the dryers.
-
Back from filling the gas tank.
$2.95 - down two cents from last time, whoop de do.

TOD
I'm greatly looking to hearing the London How to Succeed -- which might happen this evening, but if it doesn't, it will tomorrow. I insist upon being in dedicated listening and score-reading mode when I sit down to it.
In the car I've been listening to the London cast CD of Sunday in the Park With George which I found I suddenly had a fancy for recently, and the complete recording of Allegro which I'll be seeing a week from tomorrow. I do look forward to that, whatever the result might be.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours and fifteen minutes of sleep.
-
Pouring rain still. I really would rather stay in, but alas.
-
Haven't decided where to have a light breakfast.
-
Art's is just too damn expensive - thirty five bucks for a bagel, Diet Coke, and Matzoh Brei. That's just ridiculous. On the other hand, I don't want to drive too far - it was easier just a few years ago when we had Du-Par's, Jerry's, Four 'n Twenty, and a couple of breakfast only jernts. Now, it's either Art's or Hugo's if you don't want to drive - or Jinky's, which is the closest but it's always jammed there and too noisy for me.
-
If the new Norm's hadn't closed already, I'd go there.
-
Promo video for the upcoming Allegro at the local college: https://bit.ly/3Y3gE2T
They have a couple of others up there, too.
-
New Norms??? Related to THE Norm's on La Cienega?
The Valley is sounding like a dreadful place to be looking for a "regular" breakfast these days. That Art's pricing is beyond ridiculous. Who's keeping them in business at those prices? Studio people on expense accounts?
-
Today, and through this week, I'm back to practicing my Chicago licks. Sitzprobe's a week from today.
-
Well, people, we have an unusual sight out our windows today:
S**w.
Today's is only going to be a light half-inch, that the weather people already said we'll be able to clear off with the leaf blower. Coming down fast, though, so I hope it doesn't last too long. I'm counting on that leaf blower, damn it.
-
Yes, they opened a Norm's a year and a half ago in Encino. Cute, where RJ's used to be. Everyone went the first week because, you know, that's what the trendy do in the Valley. Then... no one went. It closed only three days after I got takeout via DoorDash.
-
Monday night and Tuesday, though, we won't be so lucky. They're promising to lay a few inches on us. I just hope that's it, though, because starting later in the week my schedule goes completely crazy with things I must be driving to all over the place.
You know, it's not really sporting to give us NO WINTER up to the end of February, and then unleash it. No sir, not sporting at all.
-
All of the Dear Readers who are getting their CDs.
Usually I am one of the first ones.....and still today nothing. I checked to make sure I had a receipt for SUCCEED and COLE PORTER and found it.....but still nothing today.
I shall try to be patient.
-
DR Jrand72's depraved on accounta he's deprived!
-
Good morning.
Max's expression goes great with your quote ;D
-
Yes, I often get CDs a day or even two days after DR Jrand72. This time I think only DR George was ahead of me.
-
We've been looking forward to this trip for five years. We had so much fun, with only one meltdown when Mama said he couldn't ride Thunder Mountain.
She did let him ride it, and it was his favorite ride.
Did everyone else talk Mama into letting him ride it?
-
I love the picture if Max, Laura!
-
Your story made me laugh
-
It reminded me of a trip to Disney World many years ago
-
Vixdad and I went with the Vixter and Charles.
-
They were about 20 and 21 but perhaps looked a little younger.
-
This question came once before, as well. Which makes me wonder: How often do people not ask?
;D
They obvious notice your great relationship. They could just comment on that and ask what it is.
-
We were at Epcot and had stopped to watch some street performers.
-
The kids were standing a little distant and a lady walked over to me
-
We froze our ASSES off at Disney World in Florida in January 2015.
I think it was in 1988 that we went to Disney World over spring break. We arrived at the end of a long heat wave. First couple of days we went to a water park, Epcot Center. On the day we went to DW the temps suddenly dropped to 25 degrees.
-
She said , “ I was watching your family , all laughing and joking together. I think it’s lovely how well your kids get along”
-
Not wanting to get into a big explanation I just said “Thank you”
-
Then we both turned to look at the kids
-
Who were engaged in a rather warm kiss
-
If the new Norm's hadn't closed already, I'd go there.
Did that open after the old one closed? I never liked Norm's.
-
I said, “They’re very close”
-
She gave me a horrified look and ran away
-
My family said I was evil
-
I’m still laughing about it 10 years later.

Bet she still tells that stories to others about the crazy family she met at Disney
-
And it makes for a great story to tell over the years :)
-
Vixdad had tea and buttered toasted bagel and sausages for his breakfast
-
I had caramel coffee with vanilla caramel creamer, brioche toast spread with avocado and over easy eggs, and 2 sausages

Excellent stories from DRs Laura and vixmom today!
Please keep them coming for our endless amusement.
-
I said, “They’re very close”
Hahahaha! Serves her right for making assumptions.
-
That's hilarious, Vixmom.
-
But ... I would never, ever, ever ask someone a question like that. Ever.
-
EVER.
-
When Archie was not even 1, I took him to a kids museum on the Upper West Side, and a little girl comes down some stairs, and starts talking to Archie. "Oh, you're so cute! Are you having a fun day with your GRANDPA? Such a fun day out with your GRANDPA, huh??" She was about 6. I just had to stand there and take it.

Hahaha!
I went grey early but started coloring it until I was in my 50’s because when I went to meet The Vixter’s second grade teacher she said “ Oh! You’re ( the Vixter’s) Nana! She talks about you all the time!”
-
I stopped at the CVS on my way home from the school and picked up a box of L’Oréal.

-
Hilarious stories today. Thank you!
-
A recipe for "peanut butter broccoli" just came across my feed. It seems an unlikely combination.
-
But who am I to judge?
-
I slept OK last night, but feel like a nap wouldn't be out of order.
-
Perhaps starting very soon.
-
Can I make to page five first?
-
Only time will tell.
-
And it ain't tellin'.
-
It might be rappin'.
-
It might be rhymin'.
-
But tellin'?
-
It ain't.
-
OK.
-
Five.

DR VIXMOM you can always say you're Family with benefits.
-
Last night Ben Mankiewicz said that TCM Underground was having its last episode.
They were closing with Plan 9 From Outer Space, the first movie they showed on the franchise.
I kinda liked the crazy movies and shorts that came on at 2 a.m. EST.....but I guess ALL things must come to an end.
-
I survived Costco. It wasn’t fun.
-
Gas was $2.69, down from $2.74 two weeks ago.

So, DR Rodzinski, can we call you Gramps now?

Back from an omelet at Hugo's - got there at just the right time because within ten minutes it was jammed. Who would think it's a good idea to go out in rain like that.
-
Did a quick Ralph's run.
-
And now I'm home. Rain has stopped and sun's trying to peek out.

Jrand, your package was shipped on the 15th, left LA on the 18th (heaven knows why it sat for three days), and is "in the system" and was supposed to be delivered by today. USPS. What can one do? I finished the laundry. When I went down to take the laundry from the dryers, I had a nasty fall. It was my own fault for trying to use the walker from the wrong side. It fell forward, I put my arms out, hoping to be stopped by the chair, which I missed and fell over. I landed on my back on the floor and my head hit the concrete wall hard, very hard. I lay there for a while as I assessed my body for pains and signs of something broken. Then I check the back of my head for blood and any swelling. Then it took me a good five minutes to turn my body over, hold onto the chair and lift myself off the ground. My neck seems stiff at the moment, but I think I'm okay.
-
When I came up, I took the laundry bags off the walker, which I put it back in its place. Then I left the bag of bathroom items hanging on the bathroom door and brought the clothes into the living area. I worked on the ballet for a spell, then lay down for a bit. I've fed the cats, and I'm debating what I will do for dinner.

Apparently you did ;)

We usually avoid going to the gym on Saturdays as it tends to be crowded. With more snow expected this evening we went, and it wasn't too bad.
-
Again Keith dropped me off at the door and picked me up so I could avoid most of the ice.
-
I'm sure the teacher quickly learned the correct term is "Aunt."
-
I'm sorry to hear about your fall, Elmore.
-
For his kindness, I noticed his favorite elliptical machine was empty so I used it until he arrived.
-
We are about to see the tour of Frozen. There are lots of little girls here. They are making scads of money on dolls today.
-
I hope you enjoy it. The littles girls should be fun to watch.
-
Hugs, Elmore.

Glad you are OK, DR elmore3003. Scary.

Had a wonderful dish last night called peanuts in vinegar. Need to get black vinegar before I can make it.

Sorry to read that Scott Adams, creator of the comic strip "Dilbert," has gone full racist and conspiracy theorist. Sad.
-
Scott Adams has been like that a long time. He’s just not hiding it at all anymore.

Happened to hear a bit of Rachel Portman's score for Emma on the radio. Had forgotten how lovely it is.

Scott Adams has been like that a long time. He’s just not hiding it at all anymore.

Just been relaxing. I did get a steak and bought an actual broiler pan, so I don't have to keep using those awful aluminum things that don't really work very well. Whether I make the steak or save it for tomorrow is unknown at this time - I also have a Benihana frozen dinner that looks okay.

We shall week.

Well, here comes a big new number for the likes of me!

And here it is: 123,000 postings.

That's a lot of postings!

I’m still laughing about it 10 years later.
As well you should! That was a great story, Vixmom! ;D

Listening to the last three Benjamin Frankel symphonies - very atmospheric and film music-like. I have two performances of some of these in addition the the entire set on CPO, although I don't love those performances. I have several world premiere performances and those are really good - not great sound but potent performances.
-
Did George capture the big moment?
-
If not, I might be to 124,000 posts by the end of the day if I work really hard.
-
REALLY hard.
-
Super duper hard.
-
It could happen.

You never know.

Steak or frozen dinner.

I'm thinking steak at the moment.

Now I'm thinking frozen dinner.

Congrats.

Not a broiler pan.

I made the Benihana thing - one bite - horrible and in the trash - steak is now broiling.

This same top sirloin would have cost double at Gelson's and I hate to think what the damn broiler pan would have cost.
-
Not that I know of. It came with a griddle.
If you have the manual for the oven it should tell you how to use the griddle to broil.
-
I think I would rather broil steak in a proper broiler pan.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE...wow!

Congrats to MR BK on his millstone.
-
Thanks to MR BK for the information. I imagine my CDs will be in the mailbox on Monday.
But I have saved the tracking information in case I need to raise a ruckus.

I had dinner at the home of my oldest brother and his wife.....so that was nice.
We talked about everything that's been happening....and likely to happen.

Disclosure and Congo are the only two Michael Crichton books I haven't read. Disclosure didn't appeal to me. One of these days I will get around to reading Congo.
-
I use the aluminum broiling pans to save on CLEAN UP.
I set them on top of a rectangular cookie sheet. All of the broiler heat comes from above, so it doesn't make extra cooking time or anything and it's easy to handle putting in and taking out.....nice and sturdy.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
We are going to watch The Whale tonight.
-
Hi Jeanne.
-
Oh, Larry, ouch! So sorry. I'm glad you feel OK, but please seek medical care if you start feeling not-OK. Does your medical insurance give you access to NurseLine? It's a 24/7 hotline of nurses who will do a phone evaluation to help you determine what level of care you may need. My experience with them in December when I had a head injury was excellent. I didn't want to go to the ER and her assessment confirmed that it wasn't really needed. Sometimes you just don't know. It was very helpful to talk to an RN.
Can someone check on you this evening to make sure you're feeling OK? You may want to send a message to your doctor, letting him/her know what's happened. Please take care.
Vibes you continue to feel well!
-
Hi, Jane.
Thank you for the links. I, too, have concerns about the lavender scent. Several reviewers said they didn't care for it or it bothered them, so I will look again at conventional heating pads. But what a cute idea!
-
DR Laura, not the best week to be a Disneyland! It's been unusually cold and wet. I'm glad your trip was good despite the weather. Cute pic of your grandson, too.
-
My new fleece sweats, AKA as a base layer by LLBean, have been wonderful. What a difference they've made! I can wear them over leggings or just by themselves. I always thought a base layer was something you wore for skiing or other outdoor sports and just dismissed them. A new world has opened up to me!

One review I read said it smelled more like freshly mowed grass vs lavender. LOL, that is worse for me allergy wise.

Good night, friends.

Frozen was wonderful, as expected. The little girls were thrilled.
-
I've been getting senior discounts for about 15 years now. I'm not 65 yet.
-
The sets and costumes were amazing.
-
I will be interested in what you think of The Whale DR JANE.
I have it but I have not yet given it a viewing.
-
So, DR Rodzinski, can we call you Gramps now?
I prefer "Opa."
-
Double day of birthday parties today for the kids' classmates. One was at like a big indoor play area with giant slides. One at a big gymnasium with padded areas to jump around on. Pizza and cake consumed. Goodie bags given out. All the pageantry of the modern Birthday Industrial Complex.
-
I like Brendan Fraser but don't know that I want to watch The Whale.
-
I heard there's already a sequel in the works where the main character is befriended by a Jeopardy host.
Whale 'n' Jennings.
-
DR JRand. That made me sad that TMC Underground is done. Why would they do that? Literally they can show anything in the middle of the night and the ratings would not change much. I haven't had TMC access in a few years, so I don't know how much it has changed since the great Robert Osborne left us. It's a miracle the channel even still exists, I suppose.
-
I made the Benihana thing - one bite - horrible and in the trash - steak is now broiling.
Was it supposed to have eaten raw?

I had a Opa.

Tonight, we started on a new (to us) adaptation of Anne of Green Gables. This one is called "Anne with an E."
I saw a 1930s version last week with Anne Shirley, who changed her professional name to match the character.
-
Jeanne or anyone else, have you seen an Acorn series called Aftertaste?
-
Nine!

Dancing was fun tonight. There was a new line dance, the Rockabilly Stroll.
-
I have started The Fablemans. Judd Hirsch is wonderful. So is Michelle Williams.
-
But I am exhausted. The rest will have to wait until tomorrow.
-
Congratulations, BK, on the millstone.

I do hope Larry is all right. It's very odd that he hasn't posted since telling us of his fall and hitting his head.
Larry...TALK to us!!
-
Jeanne or anyone else, have you seen an Acorn series called Aftertaste?
I have not.
-
I do hope Larry is all right. It's very odd that he hasn't posted since telling us of his fall and hitting his head.
Larry...TALK to us!!
He's probably gone to bed. Would someone please call and check on him in the morning?
-
I as very sorry to read about your accident, Elmore. I hope you will be fully recovered come morning ,
-
I loved the mid 1980’s Anne of a Green Gable series with Megan Follows as Anne
-
He's very good in The Whale but the movie is not so good - very cliched and the daughter character is the WORST.
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
With my viewing I'm finished.
-
I just am.
-
Beagle bagels...

Those look good enough to eat! ;D
-
Oh, and I'm back from seeing Baby.
-
I heard there's already a sequel in the works where the main character is befriended by a Jeopardy host.
Whale 'n' Jennings.
Must...not...groan!! ::)
-
;)
-
So, DR Rodzinski, can we call you Gramps now?
I prefer "Opa."
I had a Opa.
My dad was opa.
-
Baby was really well done.
-
The set was just a bed on a stage left (audience right) platform, simple set pieces brought on and off by the actors, and projections on the back wall.
-
Simple and very effective.
-
All the actors were quite good!
-
Heather, who played Arlene, played Joyce in TAO's production of The Brain From Planet X!
-
And also in tonight's audience were Matthew (the Brain himself), me (ensemble), and Paul (General Mills), as well as the parents of the other Paul who played Zubrick! :D
-
What's....interesting...is that the character of Arlene is supposed to be 43 years old. It's specified in the script.
-
I didn't know how old Heather is, so I asked her, and she's 48!
-
I had no idea that she was that old!
-
She really does seem (and look) like she's a lot younger!
-
DR George just walkin’ right up and asking a lady her age!
-
Hey, TEN terrific pages!
-
Two days in a row of ten?
-
3 of the last 4 days… 10 pages!
-
I personally thought the 4th day could have made it to 9 pages, but I’m not the one out here making these decisions.
-
Still wouldn’t have been TEN.
-
And we’re talking about TENS not nines.
-
Bo Dereks, not Raul Julias.
-
Lotta 9s and 8s over the last month. But maybe TENS are the new normal.
-
DR George just walkin’ right up and asking a lady her age!
We've known each other for many years. :)
-
Once, I even told her that I thought that I'd heard that she had breast implants. She wasn't fazed. She just said nope...they were natural.
-
Tens and up, of course.
-
Hey, TEN terrific pages!
And only nine costumes! ;D
-
Lotta 9s and 8s over the last month. But maybe TENS are the new normal.
I'm sure BK would hope that!
-
With George on the scene, ELEVEN is a distinct possibility.
-
Once, I even told her that I thought that I'd heard that she had breast implants. She wasn't fazed. She just said nope...they were natural.
That’s what you call a comfortable relationship.
-
No TCB.
-
The Megan Follows Anne of Green Gables can ne’er be topped, in my book. Iconic.
-
Listening to music is what I'm doing.
-
And I don't care who knows it.
-
Maybe I'll take a quick shower before posting the notes.
-
Maybe I just will.
-
Once, I even told her that I thought that I'd heard that she had breast implants. She wasn't fazed. She just said nope...they were natural.
That’s what you call a comfortable relationship.
And her knowing that I'm gay also makes it comfortable. ;)

A good inch or two of snow has fallen.
-
A good inch or two of snow has fallen.
Sounds nice...especially now that I can (finally) park my car in my garage!
-
Wonder if BK has ever seen the great Megan Follows in Anne of Green Gables
-
It was actually raining/snowing on my way home tonight!
-
It's 38°F here in Tumwater right now.
-
But it's only supposed to get down to 34° overnight.
-
And now, since we're so close...
-
Produced by the Great Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
-
11!
-
PAGE ELEVEN GRATUITOUS POST #302 DANCE!! ;D
-
11!
You just barely beat me to it, Rodzinski! ;)
-
Sorry if I stepped on your crossover to 11, DR George.
-
I hadn’t realized we were so close.
-
I wonder if any of the “Rappin’…” kids are still in the business.
-
Sorry if I stepped on your crossover to 11, DR George.
Not at all! It's all in the timing!
-
35 here. Snow now turned to rain. Probably no sledding tomorrow.
-
Yes, some of those kids did several good things and are still working. I'm Facebook friends with the lead gal, Micki Duran and she's danced in a lot of well-known movies.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Here’s to new notes!
