Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the kind of notes I like, and now it is time for you to post until the kind of cows I like come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ACCENTUATE!

~~~Continued Major Miracles for BK So That There Won't Be Hell Toupee!!~~~
So, tomorrow's music rehearsal is from 10:00 am until noon at South Puget Sound Community College (a.k.a. SPSCC...the show is one of their productions). The family is getting together today at my mom's house for our quasi-weekly family dinner, then I'm ushering at SPSCC in the evening for one of their theatrical ventures.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
I slept quite well last night. Thatch ignored me all night, and Stella was my constant companion. Annabelle has returned to her bookcase aerie, from which she descended around 3:00 with a big bang as she landed on my bed. She then slept in the curve of my knees.
-
Yesterday afternoon, Jen came down and added, courtesy of DR ChasSmith's htmi switch recommendation, my blu-ray player to my television, so I now have DVD, Netflix, and Amazon Prime on my TV. I am very happy about it. I lost about two hours of ballet work so today I will continue that.
-
DR Rodzinski, yes, to echo DR vixmom, why did you leave NYC for an enclave in the Northwest?
-
The Gramercy Surgical Center called yesterday, and I have my instructions for Monday's procedure. I haven't started freaking out yet, but I suspect I will tomorrow as it gets nearer. It's ridiculous since I've already been through it once, but I'm neurotic.
-
It will be OK, DR elmore3003.
-
Good morning, friends.
I shall be in absentia most of the livelong day.
Good morning, all.
-
I shall be in absentia most of the livelong day.
As will I.
In just a few minutes I’ll be off to a rehearsal, and this evening I’m going to the thea-tuh. I’ll be checking in sometime during the afternoon.
-
I’m the same way, DR Elmore, a worrier regardless of the actual circumstances. But I envy you getting this done,
-
Well, there’s probably more to ketchup on, but I gotta go.
Later, gators.
Elmore, vixmom, Iris and other dear readers who asked, we left NY for the great state of Delaware not long after our son was born. Wife’s job transferred her there. We missed NY and she got a job back there and we returned to much delight. Then Covid hit and it became very difficult now with two kids and by chance another job sent us back to Delaware, making us the rare people who moved to Delaware twice. But Mrs Rodzinski is from British Columbia, and her parents are not doing well. Her mom had had a stroke flying back from visiting us, saved only by a quick-thinking flight attendant. So…we were worrying a lot, and knew we had to get closer, which we did last summer.
Good morning, all.
I slept fairly well. Sinuses are bothering me, thanks to a lot of pollen in the air.
-
Mom was without power much of the night. It’s apparently back on, but her phone isn’t working.
-
My sister Annaliese’s been without power for more than 12 hours.
Up on your toes vibes for Elmore and the ballet.
This bizarre glitch of a place is like a way to still be in the US but basically live in Canada. Take care of my in-laws. Feel safer about our kids. DR George, there is no ferry to Blaine at present. They had one during Covid but no longer.
Well I ordered a Playbill from the 1980 production of MORNING'S AT SEVEN for the display case in the lobby - my production is in September.
I usually order two so I can display the cover and also the most interesting two pages inside.
The first one arrived yesterday....very nice. It included several newspapers clips about the show including the Hirschfeld drawing. The second one arrived today it is the front cover signed by Maureen O'Sullivan, the cast page signed by O'Sullivan and Gary Merrill and a cut with the signature of Paul Osborn the playwright.
That's too bad about the ferry.
I'm surprised that they lasted this long. ::)
And now, I must get ready for my first SitPwG music rehearsal!
I'll be back later with a report!
From George:
Actually, from where the front feet are to back under the cabinet, there's no vinyl, just bare cement. I'd eventually like to redo the whole floor on my bottom level...that bathroom, the entrance, the kitchen and the whole living room in one kind of flooring.
That is unusual to have a mix of vinyl and cement. One flooring for the entire area would probably look very nice.
When the guessing game first began, "knowing" you were in Delaware I wasn't about to guess. Then I realized the clues did not fit ;D
Landline or cell phone?
-
My sister Annaliese’s been without power for more than 12 hours.
Groan. I hope it is back on by now.
Kellyanne and George Conway are divorcing.
I read that. She said he was horrible to her over politics. With their differences I am amazed it didn't happen sooner.
-
DR Rodzinsky, do you use your passport to cross the border or the Washington State enhanced driver's license?
Back from a band rehearsal & sitzprobe for CHICAGO - which went very well, even if they really needed to hire a couple more musicians, and even if we didn't get through the whole thing. That damn courtroom scene takes up so much time to put together.
And that's it till Thursday, when we play one (count 'em) dress rehearsal, then three shows Friday through Sunday.
-
DR Rodzinsky, do you use your passport to cross the border or the Washington State enhanced driver's license?
Enhanced! Much easier once we got those. Eventually Nexus passes will help even more, but those take forever to get.
Yes, it was right when the plane was beginning descent in Minneapolis, and the attendant noticed my MIL seemed to be having trouble buckling her seatbelt. Then she went over and noticed the signs and phoned to the ground so they had people ready as soon as the plane landed. The administered a drug immediately that made her recovery much better, and got her to a great trauma center. It was very lucky, all things considered.
We haven't driven to Vancouver, BC since getting our enhanced ones. I am glad to know they work since we are required to have them to fly anywhere.
Tried finishing taxes. But twas not to be.
Celebrated Joy’s birthday late with hot pot. Excellent stuff. Different items this time. Shrimp with the heads on. Ribeye strips. A lobster ball with more meat.
-
Braved Costco. It was scary busy.
-
Trimmed the roses back.
-
Listened to half of Stay True, a memoir that’s been getting a lot of press. I’m finding it fairly vapid.
-
And had a short nap.
I paid $9 for the first one and $11 for the second one.
Not as nice a find as DR GEORGE's Sondheim LP, but okay.
-
DR RODZINSKI that sounds like a MOVIE!
Nice quiet day here.
I hope rehearsal is going well for DR GEORGE.
And now, I must get ready for my first SitPwG music rehearsal!
I'll be back later with a report!
Well, I'm home after the music rehearsal, food and some errands. :)
-
We learned most of "Sunday" (the act one finale), some of "The Day Off," and sections of "Putting It Together."
-
I then went to Taco Bell for brunch, then ran a few errands, and now I'm home, eventually to change into my usher drag, then go to my mom's for dinner before hieing myself back to the college where the rehearsal was to usher for a college production.
-
Now, to ketchup on the posts.
It wasn't a deliberate mix of vinyl and cement. A few years ago, the neighbors on that side had a leak and it leaked into my apartment, so that was taken care of.
-
I've been reading about Point Roberts. So interesting! Never knew about it, DR Rodzinski!
It’s so weird, I love it!
-
That also meant that the previous vanity and part of the vinyl flooring had to be ripped out and trashed. I then proceeded to not have it replaced ::) until now.
-
Eventually, I would like to replace all the flooring on my ground floor.
I got a lot of writing in today, around 11 pages. I have three more pages to go to finish the Tango tomorrow. Annabelle, Thatch, and Stella tried to add their suggestions, but I ignored them.
-
I forgot! I also had three pages of scoring to finish the number before the Tango.
-
My mind is really fried. I will watch this PBS "25 Years of Midsomer Murders" and go to bed.
Oops, I just corrected my original post to say "you" vs "to".
Good evening.
-
I went on a hike with the church folk today. The people planning the hikes don't take into consideration that some of the older folks can't do everything the young folks can do.
-
So I think I will pass on their plans from now on.
-
So I think I will pass on their plans from now on.
Wow, I didn't think you were referring to yourself. It must have been a demanding hike.
-
Bruce, absolutely wonderful story in the notes today :)
-
I am sure if I asked Keith the TOD he could quickly name a good number of films.
-
I on the other hand had to Google Classic Monster films.
-
King Kong
The Blob
-
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (I never thought of it as a monster movie)
-
Young Frankenstein which I never found scary :)
-
So I think I will pass on their plans from now on.
Wow, I didn't think you were referring to yourself. It must have been a demanding hike.
It's things like some spots where you have to scramble -- and they take off and don't stay to help anyone who needs help. Also, leaving people behind on trails where they are turnoffs, and we don't know where to go.
Since this is a church group, the organizers need to be reminded that they are responsible if anyone gets lost.
-
I had that happen to me. Once when driving to the location, and once when hiking. Fortunately I wasn't alone and we found the group again. You can bet they heard about it, and apologized.
-
I just read about the Paparazzi harassing Bruce Willis while he was out with friends having coffee >:(
I have also been reading about Point Roberts.
DR Rodzinsky is there a downtown or oldtown area?
'night
-
Saturday evening greetings! Just finished my second viewing of the Meredith Willson documentary and want to thank DR Singdaw for bring it to our attention.
-
I have not felt well since we returned from Chicago, so today had an appointment at Kroger’s Little Clinic for a Covid test, which (thank goodness) was negative. The nurse practitioner thinks I picked up some other kind of viral grandkid crud and prescribed Prednisone for my breathing.
-
DR Rodzinsky is there a downtown or oldtown area?
Not exactly. There’s a post office and supermarket. The Canadians come here for cheap gas and to mail packages for cheap. There’s a surprisingly nice library. Only 3 restaurants.
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from seeing a play and then having a nice meal, then proofing two episodes' close captioning.
-
Now it's probably too late to watch anything and I do have to be up by 9:45 as a plumber is coming between 10 and 1 (probably will be 1 - what else is new)
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Soitenly not here.
-
I'm here.
In fact, I'm still here.
Oh, a Stephen Sondheim reference.
Don't ask me.
-
What do I know?
-
I know things now, many beautiful things.
-
The world is a circle without a beginning and nobody knows where it really ends!
-
That is profoundly profound.
-
Saturday night - do you know where your children are?
-
And then there were none.
-
We daren't post Agatha Christie's original title for that book.
-
We daren't.
-
And then I wrote...
-
Why I oughta...
-
It's a long way to page seven but we will not only get there, we WILL get to page eight and then some, come hell or high water.
-
Mark my words.
-
I'm not foolin' around.
-
I've got my eye on page seven.
-
Which makes it difficult to see page six when you're eye is on a completely different page.
-
Hogwash.
-
I've never personally washed a hog, have you?
-
When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's so painful.
Or amore, depending on your point of view.
-
Did you know that a point of view can also be called a viewpoint?
-
How can we still be on this damn page?
-
Ah, we're not. We're on THIS damn page.
-
Now, get me OFF this damn page.
-
Rodzinski, thank you for the explanation.
I would love to live where you moved.
If I had young children and family close by, it would be an easy decision.
Fresh air, nature, the ocean, all sounds perfect to me.
-
I will probably not be here for the next few weeks or more.
My mom is very ill, and I am looking into hospice care for her.
I am not handling this well.
-
She is 97, but has been very active and vibrant up until a few months ago.
I will catch up on posts when possible.
-
George, enjoy rehearsals for SITPWG.
Looking forward to reading BK’s book and watching SAMI in April.
-
Jane, have a wonderful time in Japan.
Sending positive vibes to all Hainsies and Kimlets.
Will return at some point.
-
Sorry to hear about your mom and many excellent vibes and xylophones to you and her.
-
Sending vibes and prayers DR Iris
I don’t know if I knew Aubrey Plaza before, but she’s magnetic.
I think her big break was being on Parks and Recreation with Amy Poehler and pre-Marvel Chris Pratt.
That is profoundly profound.
It's a momentous moment. ;)
We daren't post Agatha Christie's original title for that book.
Nope! :o
No, no, and no.
Page seven is a no, no, and no.
-
Must at least get to page eight.
-
That's a yes, yes, yes.
-
I just had more food, which I'll probably regret and it wasn't very good to boot. But I'd only had the patty melt before so...
No, no, no.
Unequivocally.
-
Absolutely.
No doubt.
No question.
Assuredly so.
I seem to be doing a monologue because George has gone down a damn rabbit hole.
-
Oh, look! It's Page Eight!!
-
Oh, whew, he got us to page eight so at least THAT happened.
-
Yes.
-
Yes.
-
And yes.
-
Page eight is a good thing.
-
I seem to be doing a monologue because George has gone down a damn rabbit hole.
No! I was copying the link for that Hercules article in Post #209 and that takes time when I'm doing it all from my phone!
-
Page eight is a quiet thing.
-
Page eight is the thing with feathers.
-
As am I.
-
And here's my framed autographed window card to the original Broadway production of Amadeus.
-
;D
-
I was originally thinking of that frame for my recent acquisition of the Big River window card, but then I found this and the one for Pacific Overtures and thought that it would be much better for Amadeus.
-
It's not actually matted...there's just black card stock that I got from the Dollar Tree behind the poster.
-
The reflection blob at the bottom left of the image is the reflection of the actual Brain that was made for Theater Artists Olympia's production of BK and David Wechter's The Brain From Planet X.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I need to go through all of my posters to see which ones I want to hang, then get some more poster frames for them!
-
Most of my posters haven't been out of tubes or boxes for YEARS! ::)
