Well, you've read the notes, the notes both pushed and shoved resulting in a hernia, and now it is time for you to post until the pushing and shoving cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: KEEN!
-
Today, I'll be working concessions for the SOGO Winter Concert (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/sogo-03-05-winter-concert/). SOGO stands for Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia (https://studentorchestras.org/). They've been around for more than 20 years (https://studentorchestras.org/?page_id=128) and always put on good concerts. :)
-
Had to just file a copyright infringement on YouTube - someone put up the entire film - I don't mind clips, but I can't leave up the entire film when it's available in a much better transfer just about everywhere.
-
Notes viewed, stockpiled.

Go get 'em, BK!
-
Vibes for DR Iris and her mom. We’ll be thinking of you.
-
BK is not looking at a fun plumbing issue, I fear. Maybe something is covering his vent stack. That would be the best option.
-
Hello, DR George. Washingtonians represent!
-
Just need TCB here for a full quorum, and we can enact state legislation, I believe.
-
Do I hear a waltz?
-
Did a parade go by?
-
Did I stress the man and forget the child?
-
Those of you near Chesterton, Ind., from March 10-26, be sure to check out my lovely and talented sister Anne as Martha in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? at the 4th Street Theater.
-
Does anybody really know what time it is?
-
Good morning, all!
-
It was too cold at 5:30 when the alarm rang, so Annabelle and I went back to bed. I slept for another hour and had one of my we're in NYC-we're in Ohio-dreams. something about a production of Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris. At one point I was working at the Drama Book Shop, and my goddaughter Charlotte, when she was around six years old, was there with school chums. Then I was riding in a car driven by Rozanne, wife of the book shop owner, on Route 122 in West Middletown, Ohio. We drove to a burning house, and I woke. The song "Madeleine" has been running through my head, only I sing it to Annabelle:
I'm waiting for Annabelle
In front of the picture show.
Every bnight at half past ten,
Annabelle, she loves that so.
-
DR Iris, I can only wish your mother a speed transition and not a lingering one. I wish both of you as little pain and stress possible. It isn't easy and there are no happy endings.
-
Today, I must call Access-a-Ride for Tuesday's post-surgical exam, followed by a trip to my pharmacy for the three eyedrops I will take for the next month. I will go from there to Staples to scan and send the scores for ballet numbers 4, 5, and 6.
-
Today I need to finish No. 6.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I got eight hours of sleep, which my body is saying is enough. I disagree.
-
Good morning
-
Many vibes for DR Iris and her mom.
-
I must get me to the church on time

Miracle vibes for BK.

Ha! This was a mistake, but it almost turned out to be true!
-
I am back.
-
And all caught up, to boot.
-
Yesterday was a very long day. But I am glad I went to the funeral.
-
They had an open casket, which is not my favorite tradition.
-
There was a "visitation" before, then the service, then a communal lunch, followed by a private graveside burial.
-
Interesting reading about the travels of the family Rodzinski. And now I really want to read up on Point Roberts.

Happy March 5th! Brand new BROADWAY RADIO SHOW is now up. This episode is called At This Theatre: The Mark Hellinger as we look back at the history of one of Broadway's great theatres and many of the musicals (both hits and flops) that opened there. Lots of great music performed by some of the legends of the Great White Way....enjoy!

-
Thanks, DR Jrand72! :)
-
This story came to a nice clothes.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Another late one, and another short one.
I got some needed rest, and already I must get ready to go to another theeder, this time for Rodgers & Hammerstein's Allegro. It should be a most interesting time, to be topped off by a talkback and Q&A session with Ted Chapin and Andy Hammerstein.
-
Huge vibes for DR Iris and her mother.
-
DR elmore3003, would your menagerie consider this?
-
More vibes for DR Elmore, both at the ballet today and for his second surgery tomorrow.
-
Which of course will go swimmingly.
-
Swimmingly.
An interesting word.
-
Later!
-
DR Ginny, I hope you are feeling better today.
-
DR Rodkinsky, with only three restaurants to choose from I hope they are all excellent.
-
DR Iris, I am very sorry about your mother. Sending vibes of comfort for you both.
-
They had an open casket, which is not my favorite tradition.
Nor mine.
-
Yesterday was a very long day. But I am glad I went to the funeral.
I'm glad it was good for you.
-
Is there still a cream cheese shortage in supermarkets?
Awhile back I had read there was one but not recently.
-
I'm up, I'm up - barely. Maybe three hours of sleep.
-
Gawrsh. Not nearly enough.
-
FOUR.
-
It's the plumber. He's come to fix the sink.

Vixdad had a miserable cold last week
-
But he seems to have gotten rid of it
-
By transferring it to me
-
It seems to be in the early stages, headache, sore throat , occasional sneezing …
-
I’m hoping to head it off and stop it before it progresses
-
Yesterday I was feeling fine and went to visit WFO
-
We watched two movies
-
The Playboy of the Western World
and
Ghostlight
-
Plumber is here and snaking away. We'll see if that was the issue.
-
Snake vibes for healthy plumbing!
-
They killed a gator in Daytona Beach last night during On PATROL LIVE.
I thought the guy just numbed him.....but ZAP.....gator est mort.
It looked sort of like a taser and made a loud pop. I guess the gator was a goner 'cos he walk up on the porch and bit the homeowner.
-
See ya Later!
-
MR Bk where did you watch your bit of DOCTORS' WIVES?
-
Oh my gosh, DR Jrand72. That sounds alarming.
-
So sorry you are feeling under the weather, DR vixmom.
-
~~~QUICK & SPEEDY RECOVERY VIBES~~~ to you! AND to the vixdad!!!!!!
-
You are so good to visit WFO and report back to us.
-
It's Creepy Crawlers Day today here at HHW.
-
So far we've got snakes and crocks.
-
And that's enough.
-
In my book.
-
Your mileage may differ.
-
It’s a gift, Vixmom.
-
And may you get your money back.
-
My head is ready to explode. The pollen is atrocious.
-
Which rhymes with supercalifragilisticdocious.
-
But we all knew that.
-
Right?
-
Five!
-
Jrand, Amazon Prime.
-
Snaking isn't working because he can't get past where the problem is so now he's using a big boy machine, I think he called it a jetter or something, because whatever the issue is it's near the front curb. Hopefully that will clear up the issue once and for all.
-
Does anybody really know what time it is?
Does anyone...still wear...a watch?
;)
That was an enlightening review of Hercules, DR George.
Definitely. :-\
Cute!
-
Thanks MR BK. I found it free on TUBI.
Elmer Bernstein had a LOT of strange source music cues in this movie and Rachel Roberts had the best scene.....
-
Yea it was a jolt.....OPL reruns today on REELZ and Peacock (I think).
I will only have PEACOCK for free until June 24 - the NBC will put the KI-bosh on it.
-
Starting to listen to The January 6th Report. 24 hours long. We’ll see if I make it.
-
The preface is fascinating.
-
Three years ago today, I was in San Francisco. The following week, the world shut down.
-
Daughter's Deli was a big ol' fail for the first time. I always put a note when I order for extra 1000-Island dressing for the sandwich and for the pastrami to be as lean as possible. I got the extra dressing but the pastrami was more fat than meat and I can't stand any fat in a meat sandwich. I only ate a little oner half and tossed the rest, so I may need a little nosh later. Might go to Gelson's and get some soup or something as it's a bit chilly today.
-
Plumber finally finished and all is well. Whatever that huge machine was it was able to clean out and clear some roots and everything should be fine - we ran the shower and it drained quickly and the toilets are flushing and water level is now good.
-
Glad to read that the big boy machine was up to the task.
-
And, like in Anyone Can Whistle, the water is flowing.
-
It's the plumber. He's come to fix the sink.
-
DR John is this what happens when you aren't home ;)
-
By transferring it to me
I feared this was going happen.
-
DR Vixmom, feel better soon vibes.
They killed a gator in Daytona Beach last night during On PATROL LIVE.
I thought the guy just numbed him.....but ZAP.....gator est mort.
It looked sort of like a taser and made a loud pop. I guess the gator was a goner 'cos he walk up on the porch and bit the homeowner.
I can see why they didn't want that gator around.
See ya Later!
That's nice.
How is his caregiver working out?
Snaking isn't working because he can't get past where the problem is so now he's using a big boy machine, I think he called it a jetter or something, because whatever the issue is it's near the front curb. Hopefully that will clear up the issue once and for all.
Wow. Vibes this takes care of the issue once and for all.
Vibes for DR GINNY!
Thank you, DR JRand. I’ve had a quiet day.
-
DR Ginny, I hope you are feeling better today.
A little, DR Jane - thanks.
Feel better vibes for DR Vixmom!
We’ve had to have that huge machine treatment several times in our almost 35 years in this house. Glad it solved your problem, BK!
-
Glad to hear that the plumbing was successful for MR BK.
-
Yes curing vibes for DR VIXMOM.
-
I am watching a hockey game on the teevee.
-
It's the plumber. He's come to fix the sink.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTEeJE3tzDE
Without looking to see if this is an example, did you know that - apparently according to countless porn flicks over the years - when you call a plumber, he shows up in less than a minute?
-
Vixmom, you such a kind and giving person, to have cured vixdad of that cold with such dispatch.
-
;D
-
Hello, everyone.
-
SUPER SURGERY & RECOVERY VIBES to DR Elmore!
I'm usually pretty calm, but I was nervous before my second eye surgery -- just not like I was before the first one.
Let's throw in some transportation vibes, too.
-
Feel better fast vibes to DR Ginny and Vixmom and Vixdad.
Healthy vibes all around.
-
Well done, Jrand! Doing your part to keep the Kritzerland machine running smoothly.
-
Richard and I have sent DR Elmore our best vibes for tomorrow’s surgery. When it’s over, his eyes will match again!
-
Thanks for the vibes, DR Jeanne!
-
Back from Gelson's and yet another example of the power that haineshisway.com yields. I've been mentioning the creamy tomato soup several times over the past week or so. They have had this soup forever. No matter what time of day or night I go, it's the one soup that almost no one buys and so it's always full up. Not today. There was barely enough to fill the small container. First time EVER. Coincidence. Me thinks not.
-
Point Roberts, eh? I'd read about it several years ago, but I thought there was a military base there. I must be confusing it with someplace else.
It sounds lovely and a perfect solution for you. Do Pt Roberts residents do their shopping and such in the area just north of the border or do most travel to the main part of Washington?
-
Glad your plumbing problem is fixed, Bruce. I'm impressed that the plumber came out on a Sunday.
-
Continued vibes to WFO.
-
Singdaw, I'm glad you were able to attend the funeral. I think it'll help you heal from your relative's hurtful remarks.
-
Vibes of comfort to DR Iris and her mother. May it all progress as smoothly as possible.
Thanks for letting us know what's going on.
-
Looking forward to seeing SAMI soon.
-
Well, peoples, I had a stupendous afternoon seeing a flawed and rarely performed R&H musical ... produced and performed spectacularly.
Messrs. Chapin and Hammerstein, to condense and paraphrase a 25-minute talkback, said it was hands down the best they've ever seen. Chapin had only seen some eight productions in his 40 or so years with R&H, and this blew every last one of them out of the water.
More tomorrow, when I can check over my photographic evidence. Nothing of the show itself, as they are very strict about that, but there should be a few things worth posting.
-
TTFN.
-
Soubds nice, ChasSmith.
-
Watching The Inspection. Pretty good. Well acted.
-
The pollen is so bad today I am losing my voice.
-
Sorry about your allergies.
-
The opening of Peter Marks’s review of King Lear:
Patrick Page got to me. By that I mean Page gets it so right as the vain, aging ruler stripped of dignity and, ultimately, sanity that Shakespeare Theatre Company’s “King Lear” stands as one of the best versions of the tragedy I’ve ever seen. Maybe even the best.
-
I wanna go. And catch Allegro after that.
-
Changed DVD players finally.
-
It seems to be in the early stages, headache, sore throat , occasional sneezing …
~~~Feel Better Vibes for Vixmom!!~~~
-
Starting Ride the High Country, which I think was on JRand’s best western list this past week.
-
Seven!
-
Plumber finally finished and all is well. Whatever that huge machine was it was able to clean out and clear some roots and everything should be fine - we ran the shower and it drained quickly and the toilets are flushing and water level is now good.
Whew!
-
Stupendous stage productions. That's good stuff.
-
Continued good wishes for DR elmore3003 in advance of tomorrow's event.
-
If I sort my iTunes library by date added, Ethel Merman's disco album sidles up next to Bach Cantatas, Volume 1. That seems about right.
-
Another friend of mine was at that same performance apparently, DR ChasSmith.

-
I have not yet gotten over my fascination with Point Roberts.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Anybody care that the Oscars are tomorrow?
-
Getting with the program here and reading up on Point Roberts.
-
Does anybody really know what time it is?

I see more smartwatches all day the time.
I refuse to get one.
I’m trying to talk WFO into getting a smartwatch on which he would capable of calling 911 once he’s home alone again
-
Access a ride vibes for Elmore
-
Operation vibes for Elmore
-
Recovery vibes for Elmore
-
Also prayers were said this morning for Elmore, TCB, Jeanne abd her mom and John and his mom
-
Ride the High Country is one of the greats, and you will see no finer performances on the screen than Randolph Scott and especially Joel McCrea.
-
Another friend of mine was at that same performance apparently, DR ChasSmith.
Very good.
A group of my friends saw it last week, and we’ll compare notes soon. How did your friends like it?
-

I loved it. Great cast right down to Warren Oates and Edgar Buchanan.
-
Good night, all.
-
It wasn't on my list, but it should have been.
-
DR JOHN G I think the Oscars are on March 12.
-
Anybody care that the Oscars are tomorrow?
I hadn't heard (a 1776 reference ;) ).

Ahh. Good to know.

That's so cool, ChasSmith. I wonder if a production is going to tour. Do you know if the script been updated in any way, or was it just the production itself that was really good?
-

DR Jeanne, we have a pretty decent supermarket here, but it struggles a bit in the off-season months when the Canadian folk aren’t here staying in their beach cottages. We drive down to Bellingham, Wash., and load up at Costco, then at the border coming back through Canada, they make us pledge that we’re not stopping in Canada on our way home. We can also shop at the town in Canada just next to Point Roberts, where the in-laws live, but then you get into having to declare things you bought or not being allowed to bring raw meats and certain veggies. It’s all a bit absurd, and mostly we don’t get hassled, but the border guards certainly have the right to give one a hard time if they choose.
-
Chesterton is W A Y north.....I am afraid it's too much of a drive for me.....but I am sure DR RODZINSKI's sister will be great!
Yes, too far. But I know the Hoosier theatre community will be there in spirit.
-
DR Rodkinsky, with only three restaurants to choose from I hope they are all excellent.
Alas no. Two basic pubs, and a decent lunch cafe. Covid really hurt businesses here. But we can go eat in Vancouver any time!
-
Vibes to Elmore, vixmom, Ginny and all others in need.
-
BK dodged a bullet. The next step if that water laser cannon didn’t work is “we have to dig up your sewer line as a tree root is blocking it”
-
Ginny, sorry the Hoosiers beat your Wolverines today!
-
Never having heard of Point Roberts, Washington before, I wonder why that little piece of land connected to Canada was kept as part of (or given to) the US, and not made part of Canada.
-
BK dodged a bullet. The next step if that water laser cannon didn’t work is “we have to dig up your sewer line as a tree root is blocking it”
That's what I was thinking!
-
I wondered if it was as unknown in Washington as it is in every other state! I certainly didn’t know it existed until I started dating my wife who grew up next door. If you follow the border of the U.S. across the top of the map, you’ll see it crosses a tiny bit of peninsula to the west. The US and England were sorting out who got what territory, agreed on a parallel as the dividing line, then someone realized it intersected a little bit of land, and the U.S. was like, we’re keeping that! Whether for fishing rights or strategic interests, they’ve held onto it. Local Canadians come over for cheaper gas and cheaper mail.

Gratuitous Post #222!
-
Page eight needs to get the HELL out of here. Why is everyone just sitting there like so much fish?
-
One does have to wonder.
-
Once again, no TCB for two days and George is down a rabbit hole.
-
Such are the way of things and things are the way of such.
-
The ending of Ride the High Country is one of my top five endings to a movie and intensely moving.
-
My favorite ending to a movie will always be City Lights.
-
Are we going for the damn gold?
-
Or not?
-
If I had a little help from my friends it could happen easily, but noooo.
-
Not when there's a rabbit hole to be down.
-
We're not that far.
-
Page nine is in sight.
-
I can see it just around the river bend.
-
Or some bend.
-
I don't know.
-
I don't care.
-
I just want to get off this damn page.
-
And being gaslit is not helping.
-
There, there now.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
There's a CD that I need to pick up from the library tomorrow.
