Well, you've read the notes, the notes gave a warm and hopeful welcome to April, and now it is time for you to post until the April cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ASPIRE!
-
Congrats on the festival entries for SAMI!
-
And great flyer! I wish the concert could be recorded and released!
-
We had to leave the ship and return after going through immigration as we are leaving Japan tomorrow.
-
We will be spending the day in Busan, South Korea.
-
The following day we will return to Japan.
-
~~~Continued Travel Vibes for Jane and Keith!!~~~
-
Thank you.
-
This morning we went to ground zero, the atomic bomb museum, and the Peace Memorial in Nagasaki.
-
I is hard to imagine Kyoto was on the list of possible cities to bomb.
-
While Nagasaki was on the list it was not the original first choice.
-
Low clouds prevented the bomb being dropped elsewhere.
-
Nagasaki too had low clouds. Just as the plane was about to abort the mission the clouds parted and the bomb was dropped :(
-
This morning I another Sunday in the Park with George music rehearsal. Right now, I'm going through the music book that we were given and transferring all my markings into my vocal score. :)
-
I just hope I don't miss anything. ::)
-
Good luck you didn't miss anything.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well. I had two gabapenten tablets left, so I took them both thinking, if it kills me. too bad. Well, they clearly did not, and here I am.
-
The notes wer full of interesting info, but whatever happened to Daniel Bellusci? Has Kritzerland dropped him from the roster?
-
This morning I will travel via Access-a-Ride to my new accountant - the jury is still out on this - to finish my taxes. The one drawback is that it's a rainy day today, and I would rather not step out.
-
I guess everyone is sleeping in this morning. Wake up, DRs singdaw, JohnG, vixmom!
-
I have an hour to work on the ballet before my car is due to arrive.
-
I guess everyone is sleeping in this morning. Wake up, DRs singdaw, JohnG, vixmom!
I’m awake. I’m awake.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And great flyer! I wish the concert could be recorded and released!
I agree.
-
Sleep was not my friend last night.
-
The physical therapist gave me something to wear with the splint. But it’s causing too much pain while I try to sleep.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
The physical therapist gave me something to wear with the splint. But it’s causing too much pain while I try to sleep.
:(
-
It did indeed snow last night - about a foot.
-
TWO.
-
We also lost power during the night, and a CPAP doesn't work without power.
-
So sometime after midnight, I took it off. Then I couldn’t sleep. So, I Wordle’d and read half a chapter of Zola. If this melodramatic translation doesn’t bore me to sleep, nothing will.
-
'night
-
But the power is back on, now.
-
We also lost power during the night, and a CPAP doesn't work without power.
No, sir. It doesn’t.
-
Wordle 2, Phoodle 4.
-
I'm sorry about the splint, DR John G.
-
Thank you.
-
Today’s Wordle is a funny, odd choice.
-
I have a day full of dance lessons. No time to myself.
-
Did they explain to you all of the possible complications and problems and prognosis before they performed the procedure on your finger?
-
I found out too late, after the fact, about all of that when I had surgery to treat my bladder stones.
-
I didn't ask enough questions ahead of time. And I fault the doctor also for not sharing this information.
-
Bladder stones are nasty, nasty.
-
They did not go into the recuperation time clearly.
-
I didn't ask enough questions ahead of time. And I fault the doctor also for not sharing this information.
Yup.
-
There are signs of improvement. But not enough for me.
-
I need to stir. And shake, rattle and roll.
-
Before I lose my Aldi soul.
-
I'd best get to consuming todays Notes.
-
I was disappointed that the Aldi manager didn't say to DR vixmom, "How do you like them apples?"
-
I'd best get to consuming todays Notes.
Normally I would have gone back to add the apostrophe, but according to DR Jrand72, we can't today.
-
So there it lies, embarrassing me no end.
-
Lots of interesting stuff in today's Notes.
-
I have never seen Once Upon a Time in the West.
-
Well, there's nothing stopping us from moving on to a new page.
-
Nothing but a few posts.
-
Just a few.
-
Three. In all its glory.
-
What's the story, morning glory?
-
singdaw, your wit has made me laugh at least thrice already today. And that’s no foolin’
-
Good morning from the Pacific Northwest
-
We also lost power during the night, and a CPAP doesn't work without power.
No, sir. It doesn’t.
That is the number one reason to have a power generator in one's home. It needn't be large enough to do much else, so long as it keeps that CPAP going.
I bought one from QVC a couple of years ago. And wouldn't you know, the power company informed my neighborhood our power would be out from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. one night while they did some repairs.
My CPAP ran the whole night, and I had another hour or so to spare according to the meter. Well worth it.
-
I didn't ask enough questions ahead of time. And I fault the doctor also for not sharing this information.
What GALL!
-
It’s important to remember that
April love can slip right through your fingers
So if (s)he’s the one, don’t let her run away
-
Can you recommend a generator Ron? Def need one here.
-
Returned to see my allergist yeserday...first time since December.
Oof, what a day. I was not chipper. I was congested and cranky. They picked up on that, too. My tests weren't high caliber, either.
They decided I needed a breathing treatment.
I did need a breathing treatment. It lasted about 35 minutes, too, and it was glorious. Breathe in, hold it, exhale through the nose. That last bit was impossible at first, but as the minutes passed, my sinuses opened.
The assessment was that I was having a major asthma episode. Various people were consulted. New meds were ordered. I was given a new nebulizer, and I was told the VA would need to provide me with a duplicate of the breathing machine that brought me comfort. I feel certain that will happen soon, as well.
I am so overcome with gratitude that I felt crappy when I needed to feel that way. Otherwise, they likely would not have believed past tense accounts of how I obviously was feeling then.
-
And isn't life just like that? Someone asks how things are going. You look pretty good at the time, so when you tell them how sick you were just yesterday, they look at you rather oddly, nod their heads and move along.
I can't help it if I cover my pains so well.
-
None of the preceding was an April Fool's Joke, by the way. I was truly and really REAL.
-
I find this, when I see doctors, Ron. I don’t have much of a medical history and look relatively healthy, so they just kinda dismiss any concern. Thankfully your symptoms showed up!
-
Can you recommend a generator Ron? Def need one here.
The one I bought from QVC was the HALO Portable Back-up Power Station with AC Outlets. It was around $500, but as an investment in life-or-death possiblities, I thought it worthwhile
There are different brands out there, and a variety of prices. You'd need to decide what you want power for over how long a period to get the one best for you.
-
I guess everyone is sleeping in this morning. Wake up, DRs singdaw, JohnG, vixmom!
I’m awake, and what’s more, I’m here.
I was disappointed that the Aldi manager didn't say to DR vixmom, "How do you like them apples?"
:D
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I am sorry that you haven't been feeling well, and rejoice that you seem to be on a path to treatment.
-
Happy 150th birthday, Rachmaninoff!
-
April come she will!
Ha I typed that with no mistakes!
-
It is a veritable winter wonderland outside my window.
Good morning
Hand vibes for DR JOHN G.
I guess you won't be teaching the Hand Jive today to the students - although a one-handed Hand Jive might be intertesting.
I heard Art Garfunkel sing that in my head
I think I read that DR VIXMOM said there was not more stripping on the altar at her church.
It is pouring down with rain
I think I read that DR VIXMOM said there was not more stripping on the altar at her church.
You are mistaken, there WILL be stripping at the altar
We are a very progressive denomination
I find this, when I see doctors, Ron. I don’t have much of a medical history and look relatively healthy, so they just kinda dismiss any concern. Thankfully your symptoms showed up!
I have VA as primary health, although I could alter that and get a local doctor who could farm me out to specialists.
VA does what it can with its resources here. There is a large hospital in Augusta medical district (Georgia) and the VA owns and operates a large campus of specialty buildings near the Masters golf course (unrelated, of course).
But its user base is huge, and its access to doctors is often at odds with the availability of them, although many of their doctors also work at major civilian hospitals in the city.
When they cannot get you in to see a specialist within a certain number of months, you get referred to their Community Care office which locates specialty services nearby and sets you up for a year or two of care.
I have been going to my allergist for two years, but my "term" with them ended in February. They sent me a letter, I sent it to my primary and requested a renewal. It should have happened quickly, but went into limbo.
I saw my primary care physician last Tuesday. He saw me at one of my lowest points, as well, and we both concluded that my blood pressure was too low as were my blood sugars. He altered my meds for that, and that has worked well, but he also heeded my comments about my sinuses. Since I was totally blocked during my visit, he could "hear" my sinuses.
I received a letter Thursday morning, informing me that a new term had been set up with my allergist. A phone call from them established an availailbility for an appointment yesterday morning.
All in all, a VERY productive week despite feeling like crap for much of it.
Golly. I can understand that. I lived and worked in Italy for 9 1/2 years while in the Navy, and I enjoyed co-working with Italian nationals.
Some very humorous conversations were had when words they used weren't the right words, and there would not be an Italian word for the English one. I wish I had written them all down. Of course, they had their own words and expressions for situations that were a lot of fun just knowing they had different ways of looking at absurdities.
It required a period of adjustment for me to understand what was being said in English by a few, but I soon grew quite accustomed to them once I could hear them speaking in Italian with one another.
I picked up some very interesting language skills from them, none of which I can use in polite company.
Ron, I am so sorry to hear what you’ve been going through, but glad to hear you are getting appropriate treatment now.
I was born to hand-jive.
Thanks, Jack. It will likely take more than vibes. A few shakes, some stirs and possibly a kick or two.
I'm not a professional plumber, but.. umm....
Yes, DR Ron Pulliam, I think I do need a good soak.
Or three.
-
Good morning.
-
DR Ron, I have asthma. The doctor told my mom there was nothing wrong with me and I was just trying to get attention.
-
The first thing I did when I turned 18 was visit a pulmonologist. And got meds. The inhaler was life-changing.
-
Spring is here. Spring is here.
(A Tom Leher reference)
-
We are having a superbloom of wildflowers because we've had good rains. That means the tourists are crushing the flowers trying to get into the middle of a patch for a photo.
-
I tell them the rattlesnakes are active and they hide off-trail in the vegetation.
-
That usually does it.
-
There was a group I told three times yesterday that I've seen snakes right in the areas they were standing.
-
I love a good Tom Lehrer reference.
-
I'm a bad person. I was hoping they would come across one. Because I am right.
-
Stupid tourists.
-
Five.
-
An urgent email has alerted me to the existence of "The Poop Diaries," a tell-all by "real plumbers."
It's free.
But I think I'll pass.
-
Good morning, all.
-
But... but... DR singdaw, the email said it was urgent!!
-
Yesterday was a much needed full day of recovery from shows and running about, and I'm once again feeling myself today!
Um, so to speak.
-
Glad for your respite, DR ChasSmith.
-
APRIL FOOLS!
-
Good luck you didn't miss anything.
Thanks, Jane. I think I got it all. :)
And now, I'm off to shower, get dressed and hie myself to rehearsal.
After that, my friend sShelky asked if I would take her to the Olympia Farmer's Market because one if her car windows cannot close. :-\ So I'll be going to the market.
I forgot THE BIG COUNTRY on my list - but was reminded of it above.
Lots of good westerns. We watched a lot of them when I was small...attenede several at the movie house and drive in as well.
Ithought about The Big Country the other day when MR BK asked about our favorite Carroll Baker movies.
I certainly agree with what he wrote about Something Wild and Jack Garfien the director at the Actors Studio......
DR Jrand72, congratulations on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!
I am roasting trays full of cauliflower and broccoli.
That should last for the coming week.
I've always wondered about the expression "how the sausage is made."
-
I mean, why sausage?
-
Don't folks want to know how the bagels are made?
Or the marzipan?
I once read a fascinating treatise on how the bunions are made.
Oh my an smbulance just went to my neighbors' nouse across the street.
Jean was loaded up and taken away. She was sitting up and they turned to red lights off - so I think she's oing to be okay. I hope.
-
We're dressed up to the 9s at 6s and 7s.
-
The sizzle steaks were most excellent but hardly worthy of a film or even a photo.
-
Is that your new-ish neighbor, DR Jand72? ~~~RECUPERATION VIBES~~~ for her!
However, not everything stops when the music does.
Not a bad day at all, given my concerns about rain! Both Access-a-Ride trips arrived on time, my taxes are in, I'm getting a very nice refund from the IRS, for the first time in years I owed NY State nothing, I picked up my meds, and - ta dah! - I walked - not crawled - up the lobby steps.
Good news, Elmore. And a great cast for Annie.
I have started 84, Charing Cross Road. Loving it.
I love some of the British terms, like ready-made daughter instead of stepdaughter. But there’s been several mentions of prized “tins of tongue.” No thank you.
Ketchuping at home a little bit today, I got a lot of my detritus from the past month of gigs put away, while (FINALLY!) listening to the London Cast How to Succeed which was interesting and much fun.
The included cover album is also very enjoyable. I'd never heard that one, and I haven't listened to one of those in a very long time. I'd really love it if that kind of extra could (or would) be included on other cast albums. What a treat!
I'm jiggy with that. Triple-axel jiggy.
Sure is! He was a nice foil to Mr Yacko.
I don't know if Adam worke d on BRAIN. He was in elementary school when I cast him as Woodstock in a local production of SNOOPY!!! And I worked with him 9n a few other shows like Into the Woods and Once Upon a Mattress and Grease at PCPH.
Then he went to college and then went to NYC in the qqearly 2000's. He was a bartender/waiter at some popular Gay place for many yearas - but I can't remember the name of it.....maybe it was Splash or something.
How wonderful you had the attack while at the office. The breathing machine at home should make a big difference.
DR Ron, I have asthma. The doctor told my mom there was nothing wrong with me and I was just trying to get attention.
:o
-
We are having a superbloom of wildflowers because we've had good rains. That means the tourists are crushing the flowers trying to get into the middle of a patch for a photo.
>:(
-
There was a group I told three times yesterday that I've seen snakes right in the areas they were standing.
;D
-
If scrolling is wrong, I don't wanna be right.
-
:o
-
It's only a matter of time...
-
A post or two...
-
I need to catch up. Saw episode one.
-
Home from dancing. It was exhausting but fun.
-
Good night, folks.
DR VIXMOM my brother says he and his family are going to be a little late for Easter dinner - so he asks that you not sit down until 8 p.m.
They can eat the second ham
-
And do all the dishes
-
I'm jiggy with that. Triple-axel jiggy.
Amazing!
I have missed Michelle Kwan so much these past 20 years. No American female has come close to her talent and stamina.
-
Ron, I am so sorry to hear what you’ve been going through, but glad to hear you are getting appropriate treatment now.
I am actually glad to have felt this way at key moments when I could "share it" visually and aurally with those who could assess me.
I agree! It’s like taking your car to the mechanic and it stops making “ that noise”
EXACTLY!!! Thank you!!!
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Finally got all the dust jacket components and making a couple of little fixes to the flap copy and that will be ready to go.
-
Fixed a mistake on the flyer for the Kritzerland show.
-
But mostly, very lazy day. I actually slept through one entire movie - oops - but managed to stay awake for all of the other one.
-
I don't really understand nodding off for two hours after sleeping for nine.
-
The other important envelope did arrive.
-
Had Popeye's for food - my usual two breasts.
-
My Usual Two Breasts - that's the title of my next novel.
-
Did everyone up and disappear???
-
I see George, so maybe he'll rejoin the fun.
-
Had an apple for a sweet.
-
Healthy.
-
Almost time to write some damn notes.
-
I'm a bad person. I was hoping they would come across one. Because I am right.
I hoped so as well while reading your posts.
-
DR JANE you are wolcome. Sometimes it is difficult to choose which picture to post! They are all most entertaining.
Thank you.
-
Oh my an smbulance just went to my neighbors' nouse across the street.
Jean was loaded up and taken away. She was sitting up and they turned to red lights off - so I think she's oing to be okay. I hope.
Vibes she is ok.
-
No ~~~vibes~~~ are offered, however, for DR Laura's trampling tourists.
;D
-
I have started 84, Charing Cross Road. Loving it.
The book or the movies? Both are wonderful.
-
DR George, I had hoped to get you a Keychain today in South Korea. I am sorry it didn't happen.
-
Keith took that photo to email to Freyja. It was excellent timing as she had just watched Spirited Away and recognized some of the toys.
And speaking of Spirited Away, did you know that it was adapted into a stage show, and that stage show was filmed, and it's going to be shown as a Fathom Event (https://www.fathomevents.com/events/SPIRITED-AWAY-Live-on-Stage-Studio-Ghibli-Fest-2023?date=2023-04-23) in the movie theaters this month??
I really want to see it! ;D
DR George, I had hoped to get you a Keychain today in South Korea. I am sorry it didn't happen.
The stage show was actually filmed twice, and each of the two dates is going to show a different cast.
-
The link that I hyperlinked was for the April 23rd showing, and here's the direct link for the April 27th showing (https://www.fathomevents.com/events/SPIRITED-AWAY-Live-on-Stage-Studio-Ghibli-Fest-2023?date=2023-04-27).
Yikes! Was it for an emergency where you are?
-
On the ship which is docked.
-
The alerts were in Korean so we have no idea what they said ;D
I would not watch Spirited Away without having seen the brilliant film first.
-
Whassup?
Anything?
-
Nothing?
-
I'm up.
-
Did George go down a rabbit hole?
-
I didn't.
-
What?
-
I see George.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
I wrote them.
Page eleven - nice way to start April
And over 300 postings.
Not bad, not bad at all, said the Randy Vicar to the Plunger.
