Well, you've read the notes, the notes could not speak of news, not quite yet, and now it is time for you to post until the note quite yet cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HEARTSOME!
-
We are enjoying snacks and drinks while Keith smokes a cigar.
-
He didn't bring enough cigars with him and the ones for sale aren't very good.
-
Usually he has a nice selection to choose from.
-
Tomorrow we gave an 8 hour tour so we won't be relaxing before dinner.
-
While long, I am looking forward to the tour to Holy Hagura Mountain.
-
Normally we try to avoid tours that include lunch.
-
This one includes a vegetarian lunch :)
-
Keith's cousin is in Kyoto on a photographic tour. To avoid the crowds they went out at 4:30am. She sent us some nice photos. Unfortunately we are not in locations at the same time.
-
On that side of the family there aren't any other living cousins. Since she doesn't have any cousins on her paternal side she appreciates us ;)
-
We like her, and her boyfriend.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Lots of intriguing mysteries in today's Notes.
-
Things to look forward to.
-
I did a load of pajamas so that I'd have clean clothes for the week.
-
Good morning, all!
-
This has already been a helluva lousy morning, so I could use some positively good wishes to get me to and from my doctors today.
-
I slept rather well, the cats behaved rather well, and then the alarm rang. Since I use my cell phone for my alarm, with my limited mobility, I need to transfer it from nightstand to computer table for eye drop notifications and updates from Access-a-Ride. I was sloppy this morning, and in my move the cell phone dropped onto the floor and slid under the bed. It took me three attempts to crawl on the floor to find it. I was beginning to panic. In my third attempt I lay flat on the floor so I could reach further under the bed, and I gad a helluva time gettig myself up.
-
This morning, Access-a-Ride will take me to East 22nd Street where Dr Wong will check my eye surgery - I'm still worried about it - and then I will see my podiatrist Dr Corrado. I'd rather stay home, much as I like both doctors.

Good morning, all.
-
Work dreams. Yawn.
-
It’s raining out there.
-
I hope the plants like it.
-
Not looking forward to driving in it.
-
BK, how and when can we see or hear the Laurie Beechman podcast?
-
Let’s get off this page.

One more …

Must get moving.

Good morning.

The morning has been a lot of bad omens. I am thinking of canceling my trips today and rescheduling. In the past 30 minutes, my pencil sharoener has died so I cannot sharpen my red pencil to edit A&T while I wait, when I went to the basement, Stella ran out of the apartment, and I had to spe3nd the trip to basement, mail boxes, and back hoping I would not have to chase her down on that damned walker, my stomach is beginning to act up. I hate it all.
-
I canceled my trip and rescheduled my appointments. I will walk to the bank and Staples, then continue the bathroom cleanup.
-
I did a load of pajamas so that I'd have clean clothes for the week.

That’s just poetry right there.

Vibes for Elmore! Glad you stayed put. Reset the day, stay out of the madness. Slowly get your bathroom back.

Keith’s Cousin is in Kyoto.
That’s just poetry right there.
It is. But is she doing the hand-jive?
-
Or the Time Warp?
-
Or the Lambada - the forbidden dance?

I myself fancy a polka now and then.

My polka outfit has polka-dots.

It's very snazzy.

I was in a production of Forum like that once in Brooklyn. You like 3 Proteans? How about TEN Proteans?

Yes, with the 17 Pink Ladies we cast!

The last two nights, I’ve come to bed ready for posting fun and….Zzzzzzz

I fancy a frug when I’m feeling frisky.

I accent alliteration in an acceptable ambience.

Raucous rowdy ramblings really render rambunctiousness.

Case in point.

If DR Rodzinski is doing the frug, he must be a rich man.

If you see me talking to myself, just move on.

Indeed, DR John G.

That's about 30 people too many, for my taste!
-
Since when did Thatch become a mechanic?
My babies have so many talents!
-
Well, I went to the bank, just across Broadway snd formerly a 5-minute walk, for Access-a-Ride single dollars, the corner postbox to mail a letter. and Staplwa, another half block away. All that took me 75 minutes.

I am back from the dentist - where I had the book thrown at me. :)
I hadn't been there since before the pandemic, and boy did it show. That was one rough cleaning. But I like the hygienist, and as sore as my gums are, my wallet is going to hurt even more. I have one trouble area that will need attention soon, and it's time for a complete scaling, so I'll be returning for more torture in the near future.

And now I must settle down to the tasks at hand. Which will be damned relaxing after that workout.
-
DR Elmore, rescheduling those things sounds like the right decision today.

Since when did Thatch become a mechanic?
When he's done changing the oil, can he check my tires?

Okay, I must be off. Later!

I have been buried. I'm tackling some tax prep, but was buried apart from that. Where does all this stuff come from?? I discovered a couple weeks ago that I'm missing an important tax document. I requested a duplicate, but that has not arrived, either. Damn the USPS! I went through this last year, too. A new credit card (from the new bank) also hasn't arrived.
-
I chuckled at this.

Very nice picture, Rodzinski!
-
Jane, your photos look lovely. But more to the point, which kind of ChocZero did you try? They now have lots of different flavors and combinations. I'm a pure chocolate person myself -- I don't like my chocolate contaminated with fruit flavors, no matter how much I like the fruit. That said, sometimes one has to reach out and try new things. Apparently Whole Foods now carries ChocZero, which makes it easier to do a taste test.
-
Chas, I wouldn't look forward to a deep scaling, either. But there's a way to avoid this sort of thing in the future. May I present...Closys mouthwash! I used to collect a lot of tartar, even with the requisite trips to the dentist, and was developing deep pockets. (Not the good kind, either.) Two weeks after trying Closys I had another exam and everything had cleared up! I was amazed! Others I know who've tried it had similar experiences and thank me for telling them about it. Available at some drug stores and also at Amazon. There's a toothpaste, too, but I only use the Closys mouthwash.
-
I did a load of pajamas so that I'd have clean clothes for the week.
Does that mean you work in your jammies?
-
Happy about Wisconsin.
Yes, very. Chicago, too.
-
Congrats to BK and Samitheseries! Looking forward to it.
-
Nice to see the Rodzinski family and photographic evidence of their trip.
-
There's a used car dealer I often pass, which started out as a Cadillac specialist. They always have an interesting assortment of very old cars on their little lot. There's been an old, rusted truck there for as long as I can remember. It was designed as a popcorn purveyor and has POPCORN WAGON written on its side. Just recently some enterprising person turned it into a coffee seller. I doubt they have much business, as you'd hardly know they were there, and there's a Starbucks just two short blocks away. But I do like to see old things reused and repurposed.
-
vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Watching Sound of Metal. It’s like some of the independent films I saw back in the day with no budget but great performances. Riz Ahmed is amazing. Glad he got an Oscar nomination for it. But it is also depressing in its way.
-
I am exhausted. I hope I can sleep tonight.
-
OMG! We just spent almost 10 minutes discussing how long George and Dot have been together. ::)
-
And now, the director just asked how long have the nurse and the Old Lady been together?
-
And they're still talking about it! :o
-
AARRGGHH!!
-
Ah. The touchy-feely director.

I only have 17 lines in the whole show. I don't need to know ANYTHING about any of the other characters' "motivations."

Ah. The touchy-feely director.
I have to keep telling myself, "it's a college production. They have to teach something."

So I am stuffing my pie-hole with gefilte fish smothered with prepared horseradish and some matzo.

The movie has the grooviest score by Malcolm Lockyer.
-
Wednesday evening greetings! We're having kind of a busy week and I stayed off the computer today until the severe thunderstorms rolled through.
-
DR Jeanne - sorry for all the chaos. Hoping things smooth out for you.
-
I just might give that mouthwash a try.

Thunderstorms are possibly starting in an hour.

Ginny, what’s on the menu for Sunday?
-
Maybe they should have given you THE DAY OFF.
My first act one scene doesn't happen until after "Everybody Loves Louis." At this rate, we won't get to my scene until next week!
-
I don't actually work in my jammies, DR Jeanne. I was just trying to be funny.
-
But sometimes I don't wear any pants. ;D

-
Ginny, what’s on the menu for Sunday?
We have made NO plans for Easter Sunday. We won't be with our son's family because the other grandparents are visiting them. Fr. Richard did the noon services in Dayton on Monday and Wednesday and I went with him today. He'll be involved there tomorrow and Friday, but I have other appointments. Not feelin' the holiday this year.
-
Ah. The touchy-feely director.
I have to keep telling myself, "it's a college production. They have to teach something."
Oh, George, I have worked with several non-school directors who did the same thing.
-
I just had a LONG combined rehearsal for Good Friday services, which did not allow me to have any dinner.
That would be Thursday.
-
George, I hate that kind of discussion. I had one director do it and I refused to take part. It's all palaver. Just show up, be good, say your lines, and go eat - that's a good actor.
-
Anyone wants to jump on the book pre-order, it's now live and in color at http://kritzerland.com/prev_harv.htm

Ginny, what’s on the menu for Sunday?
Perhaps this?

Hello, my friend.

Looks quite spiffy and wonderful.
-
You prefer a skirt?
Skirt steak, perhaps.
-
I should eat horseradish more often. It's quite delish, as DR George is wont to say.
-
Steak with a good horseradish sauce is also quite divine.
-
Lucky #200!

BK, how much extra work is involved in getting your books formatted for the Kindle version? I hope not a lot.

I always buy the hard cover and the Kindle versions.

For convenience.

Fading fast.

Fastly fading.

Good night, friends.

Ordered
-
Steak with a good horseradish sauce is also quite divine.
I agree.
-
We’re down to seven little Indians.
-
I always buy the hard cover and the Kindle versions.
I have also. The Kindle version does (usually) come out before the physical book.
-
"How did Jules and "Yvonne meet?"
-
The actress playing Yvonne had been thinking about that and had an answer (in her mind, at least).
-
::)
-
I have a company that does the Kindle conversion - takes them about an hour - really good - and they're who I went to for the design, rather than Grant. They did it in three days and I just sent them a few minor corrections and that'll be done. So, they'll be completely ready for the Kindle - all I'll need to do is send them the cover, back cover and the completed copyright page once the publisher adds their ISBN numbers.
-
"How did Jules and "Yvonne meet?"
Where did they meet? In director’s hell.
-
Stanley Holloway and Wilfred Hyde-White have a short scene together. But no song.
-
A friend of mine, who is also in the show, and I have been texting during this (1 hour and 45 minutes and neither of us has had a line, yet!), and he's going to complain to the director and may threaten to quit. He has kids and other obligations that I don't have, so I totally support whatever decision (threat?) he makes.
-
And now the director was asking about the old lady's dementia because she she says, "Some other day, Monsieur," and doesn't acknowledge that he's his son, and he says, "It's George, mother."
-
The actress playing the old lady (correctly, in my opinion) explained that she took it as that the old lady didn't want to acknowledge that he's her son because it would embarrass her. The director said that she hadn't thought of that perspective. :o
-
We're now past that and pn page 42 in my copy of the script. Mr. doesn't enter until page 61.
-
And we skipped the whole "Color and Light" song/scene. The director will schedule time with Dot and George (the characters) separately.
-
I can give part one of the good news - Sami premiers on Prime Video on April 23rd.
Wonderful!
-

That is a lovely picture of your lovely family Rodzinski!
-

I think I ordered the book. PayPal said it was complete but it wouldn’t return me back to Kritzerland to finish the order.
Bruce, are you able to see if it went through?
-
Tonight Vixdad and I went to see Rick Wakeman
-
He does a lovely show, just him and a grand piano and a double decker electronic keyboard .
-
He bounces in between the two telling stories and jokes in between playing
-
It was very enjoyable

It also didn't take me back to Kritzerland. I just had to close the PayPal window.

OMG! So "how do the Celestes know George's father?" One of them has one line, "Like his father, I say." Then a five minute discussion.
-
Good luck, George
Say what the f—-, George
Lord love a duck, George
-
Good night, all.
-
Good luck, George

:))
-
And we're done!
-
The director said that ahe'll send out a new rehearsal schedule for Friday, and we can have tomorrow off.
-
Oh, look! It's Page Nine!
-
Does anyone what to know my menu for Easter with the masses?
-
Vixmom, yes, got it, thanks!
-
Tried to watch Mean Streets and fell asleep instantly.
-
This director of George's should not be allowed to direct. These questions are nonsensical. If an actor likes to write up a backstory, great, that's his business. All this other stuff is, I hate to say it, masturbation.
-
Vixmom, yes, got it, thanks!
Excellent! Thank you , I’ll go check my mailbox right now.
-
Think I found a way to compress photos to share on here, let’s see…
What a beautiful family, Rodzinski! Did you rent them?
Rent-to-own!
-
Thank you all for your kind words.
-
George, that sounds like a nightmare. If those discussions are necessary, it should be with individuals having issues finding character, not required suffering for the cast at large.
-
On my vacation I found a book at the airport, “Cinema Speculation” by one Q. Tarantino. I’m not what you would call a fan of his oeuvre, but I do enjoy him as a writer in cultural observation mode. And the book gives real insight into what made him who he is, as he was basically raised going to double features at seedy theaters all over LA with his parents and later with his mom’s boyfriends. This makes the book worth a look for those LA theater historians on here. I enjoyed his thoughts on various ‘70s films and directors.
-
George, that sounds like a nightmare. If those discussions are necessary, it should be with individuals having issues finding character, not required suffering for the cast at large.
Exactly. I do think that the director realized this tonight and did say that she'll schedule work with George and Dot separately.
-
Mean Streets is discussed in passing, but the Taxi Driver chapters are most insightful.
-
The Rodzinski family is beautiful.
-
Perhaps they'll come to Los Angeles and we can all go to Shaky's.
-
I didn't think the two turkey sandwiches had early was enough food, so I just had a cup of chicken soup from Mel's Diner nearby (but delivered) and a cup of their chili, which was surprisingly excellent.

Isn't it rich.
-
Isn't it queer?
-
That we are still on page nine?
-
When ten is so near.

Quick send in the posts.
-
Because they're not here.
-
And now, I really must write some notes, mustn't I?
-
I must.
-
Send in the notes.
-
I don't know.
-
I used to know.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
I believe there's gaslighting going on.
-
See?
-
The minute I mention it, the page changes.
-
Perhaps they'll come to Los Angeles and we can all go to Shaky's.
There used to be a Shaky's Pizza in Lacey.
-
It's the first pizza place that I specifically remember going to.
-
I also remember that I really liked it. :)
-
They closed YEARS ago.
-
I’m always down for Shakey’s.
-
When I was a kid, Shakey’s projected old silent movies on the wall.
-
Then they hit on the “Bunch o’ Lunch” buffet idea and got rid of the roaring ‘20s vibe.
-
Then they all closed except on the west coast.
-
One left in Wash, G!
-
In Renton.
-
2.5 hours from me.

A mere 54 min from Olympia.

Rodzinski, can we make it to Page Eleven?
-
I'm sure when BK comes back, he'll make sure it happens.
-
But, to quote Mel Brooks, "We can do it!"
-
Only ten more posts to go!
-
Let’s go!
-
Elevenward!
-
I'm back, and to prove it I'm here.
-
Here's a funny (part 1 of 2):
-
Broasted potatoes - I think that's what Rodzinski was enamored of. Did we actually go there?
-
11’s the number for me.
-
There was one about a half mile from my Studio City house.
-
Here's part 2:
-
:))
-
Mojo Potatoes!
-
Page eleven must be somewhere around here.
-
And so it is.
-
Mojo - that's right.
-
I think I arrived too late for us to make the lunch buffet, so we went elsewhere.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
They shall be read.
-
I wrote them.
-
Rodzinski, I think we went to Marie Callenender's - I think I have photographs.
-
Pie was involved.
