How did I miss that David Cassidy had died? I need to get with the times.

So, for 5 1/2 years, he has been alive in your memory!!

I was just listening to David Cassidy yesterday and thinking what a great singer he is. Really sells the material.
Led me to listen to Shaun last night. Not as strong, at least in his early career, but I found some surprisingly good deep cuts on those records.
So of course it’s expected to rain
When you buy a Supreme Court justice like Clarence Thomas, is it tax deductible?
Asking for a friend.

Lousy news for a Sunday or any other morning:
The wonderful, trustworthy local auto repair shop we’ve been so fortunate to have here for years will soon be no more. The family has decided it’s time to sell and retire. Worse, the prospective buyers have no interest in keeping the repair shop going. They want to convert it to something we all need more of <cough> and have been clamoring for: a gas station.
This place could not have had better mechanics or been more conveniently located and managed.
Doom.

My sister had a HUGE crush on Shaun Cassidy. She had his records...AND his birthday is September 27, the same as my sister's. ;)
God bless you!
~~~Strongest Most Excellent Vibes and Xylophones for Another MAJOR Miracle to Get Through!!~~~
I guess I was interrupted while catching up yesterday and missed the news about Keith’s uncle. I am so sorry Jane, I am sending prayers and vibes of comfort to all who love him
We are going to a play penned by another friend of mine, which is having its premiere at 3 pm
Attending a birthday party piano-bar style singalong celebration this afternoon for a dear friend who has recently been moved to a memory care facility.
It's raining here in Tumwater...and has been all morning.
Two of my sisters crushed on Shaun such that we had to have two copies of his debut LP and it’s “kissable” poster in the house.
A sedate féte is a fait accompli. It's fated.
Happy 39th birthday to the niece of DR George.
Cute gift George.
That's hard.
We had the Shaun Cassidy kissable poster at my house, but I am not sure it was for my sisters.
Our rain has stopped.
Jane, I'm sorry to hear about Keith's uncle. Condolences to all of you.
I'm glad, though, that you won't need to attend a funeral you're not really up to.
Vibes you and Keith feel better soon.
The singalong birthday celebration was lovely. Everyone had a good time.
It was a quiet gathering. One member’s mother died recently and it was the first time we’s seen her since. Another member is on the West Coast where her daughter just entered hospice.
On Friday a friend in the Bay Area called and asked about the tax deadline. He was confused. And I was confused. But we now know the skinny: Gov Newsom postponed the tax deadline to Oct 16 for all of us affected by the severe storms, which was most of the state. And the IRS agreed to make that the deadline for Federal returns as well (!!!). It was only when I did a web search which included the word "California" that the relevant information came up. I'm sure all of you non-Californians are just thrilled to know this. But at least this one mystery has been solved.
I didn't know there was such a thing, only borscht without meat.
Borsch was developed as a meat extender. It’s rich flavor is really all about the beef bones.It came with a side so I had a cup of the meat borscht
I have watched it, DR Jeanne, although I am not currently watching the new season.
Two Sleepy People.
Living with Bill Nighy (a movie, not a series) has become available for streaming, and I am looking forward to seeing that.
That all looks marvelous, DR vixmom.
I've been rewatching FOYLE'S WAR.
vixmom, I LOVE Veselka, though I haven't been there in years.
Back in the '90s and early '00s I was in the city a lot. A number of friends lived in the Vilage and East Vilage, and Veselka was one of our prime get-together places.
Must get back there. I'd appreciate it all the more now.
Has anyone here been watching SUCCESSION? I have the impression I'm the only one not watching it.
Show was fantastic. Went out for bite after, came home and now I must write some damn notes.
