Well, you've read the notes, the notes premiered, and now it is time for you to post until the premiering cows come home.
-
Today's topic of discussion: GRATITUDE!
-
George, we'll make sure you don't have rehearsal.
-
George, we'll make sure you don't have rehearsal.
I don't have rehearsal tonight (Monday), tomorrow (Tuesday) and Friday. Wednesday, I don't need to be there until 7:30 or so, so I'd need to leave my house by 7:00. And the call on Thursday is 6:30.
-
Reviews have been submitted to both IMDb and Amazon!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept in this morning. It was too cold to get out of bed, and I was happy ro snuggle under the blankets with Annabelle. She decided around 2:00 that she was tired of sleeping in the cold and crawled under the blankets with me. Thatch was undecided what he wanted to do, and Stella refused to settle and let us all be cmofortable.
-
I settled in to watch all the episodes of SAMI last night. I really enjoyed the first three, especially Cindy Williams' caustic comments about Grandpa, and then Episode 4 froze. I couldn't get it to play or reload, and Amazon Prime's attitude seemed to be, You paid for it and you're going nowhere until you've watched it. Damn. I am not happy.
-
Back to the ballet. I would like to finish No. 14 today.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Happy that Sami is going over so well everywhere.
-
I plan to re-watch as soon as possible.
-
I spent the morning watching all the episodes and enjoyed them all. I enjoyed all the songs and seeing and hearing the ones I’ve heard before.
-
Guide dog in training. He's such a good boy!
-
From yesterday’s notes
Jeremy Irons thank David Cronenberg when he won his Oscar two years late.
I always love pointing out in North by Northwest the boy in the background putting his fingers in his ears when Eva Marie Saint shoots Cary Grant.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Work dreams. Not always stress-free. I did wake up to discover I’d removed the splint in my sleep.
-
Hope to find the time to watch more Sami today.
-
I’m trying not to binge watch them all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Well, here we are. It's another
HELL TECH WEEK! :)
-
Yesterday was a day of interruptions
-
I did however get to visit WFO, although it was much later than I hoped by time I arrived
-
We did however watch the first 4 episodes of Sami before I had to leave
-
Len Goodman from Dancing with the Stars has died.
-
I think my favorites bits so far were the interactions between Sami and Sammy during the self tape, and Sami singing “Annie” and “Simply”
-
I came here a couple of times last night but interruptions continued and I never even caught up let alone had time to post
-
Finally , exhausted, I went to bed by 10
-
Now I must get off to work but first I must Wordle
-
No one should try to plan anything around my schedule, which as you see will be difficult, but for purposes of a possible zoom session:
THIS WEEK: I'm out tonight through Thursday night till at least 9 pm (all times are eastern), then I have shows on Friday & Saturday, so those are very late nights. I'm attending a matinee on Sunday but am free that evening.
NEXT WEEK: Monday evening's a no go. I think Tues-Thurs evenings are fine. I'm back at the show again Fri-Sat. Sunday is a no-go.
-
BK: You typed "Robert H Harris" yesterday, which I took it as a typo and moved on, but now I'd better mention it since it appears twice in the notes:
It's good old RAH. Robert A Harris. :)

What's an A.H. between friends?

No Amazon reviews yet. I wonder how many they're sitting on.
And this time I didn't think to save mine, so when they finally get them posted, I'll copy & paste mine to IMDb since I liked however I worded whatever i said. :)
-
Give 'em the old RAH-zzle dazzle.
-
There are a few reviews showing up on IMDB.
-
And already I must get out and run two - or is it three? - quick errands this morning. I'll be back for a couple of hours to limber my fingers up on some piano stuff, and then out again till sometime tonight.
-
There are a few reviews showing up on IMDB.
Right. In fact, the first one - yours, right? - appeared last night not long after you said you'd submitted it.
-
Yes, that is mine.

Hell Survival vibes for DR CHAS SMITH & Co.
-
I loved all of the songs!!! All of the songs.
The choreography with Sami & Sammy in episode 10 was lovely.
I loved the pie fight, the date, ALL of the auditions with the clueless directors & staff members. And - I think - all of the SAME people auditioning with Sami for the same roles....and their costumes!
I loved ALL of Sami's costumes and hair and makeup.
I loved Cindy Williams & the MR BK Voiceovers.
And I loved that time was taken so that folks could "take it" when something was said....priceless.
-
I have a regular appointment with my doctor in about an hour, so I must make myself presentable.
-
That's a good itemization, DR Jrand72.
I find that kind of thing really hard to do, because no matter what I name, I feel that I'm slighting something else. That's fine for many things, but when something is so beautifully conceived from the top down, through every layer... that just trips me up. :)
-
Errands: accomplished.
Things to do in the next four hours or less:
Eat something.
A load of laundry.
Put the cat food away.
Gather the trash and take the can down to the road.
Play straight through Newsies and fix anything that needs fixing.
Eat something else.
Note to self:
If that last thing doesn't get done, leave earlier and stop for a sandwich and snack(s) to eat on the way down and hold me over till after 7 or 8 pm.
-
I agree, DR ChasSmith - DR Jrand72's list was quite comprehensive, and there is just so much to like.
The pre-audition and audition scenes were hilarious.
A wonderful Easter Egg of a surprise was the off-camera voice of Grandpa.
All the elements blend so beautifully together, down to the smallest music cue.
I want to go back to the pie scene to try to figure out if the sound effects were enhanced or natural. Either way, hilarious.
-
~~~GETTING-IT-ALL-DONE VIBES~~~ for DR ChasSmith!!!!!
Kitty cleanup is finished, and I am off to the ballet. Indiana University drags their feet for six months on a contract, and now they're asking for the orchestra parts! Am I worried about finishing? A bit.
The weather forecast here is calling for snow. On May 1st.
At last! Truth in advertising.
I have seem some reports that Tucker Carlson is OUT at Fox "News," effective immediately, but haven't seen it confirmed yet in the mainstream media.
I just saw that! It's confirmed by another of their own people:
And Don Lemon on the CNN side. We have all seen that one coming.
Carlson will probably move over to one of the smaller networks to the right of Fox. :P
No doubt. ::)
Oh and I forgot the nod to Dame Edna from Charles Busch - which now is so timely!
-
DR Singdaw, thanks.
-
My doctor pronounced me alive.
And then I had to go to the lab for some blood draws.
Those results should be on my MyChart in a day or so.
-
Good morning.
-
I must rush off as I am running late today.
-
My doctor pronounced me alive.
This reconfirms my faith in the current medical establishment.
That's a great diagnosis, DR Jrand72. I wonder if the rest of us could get referrals to him?
My friend, the wonderful agent Jim Wilhelm, has died. His agency was called "The Home of Musical Comedy." When I last saw Kim Criswell, she had been to hospital to see him, and I knew his time was running out. He was a dear man.
-
Very sorry to hear that, DR Elmore.
My condolences, Larry. :(
Sorry for your loss, Elmore. My sympathies, too, with Singdaw.
Got word this morning thst the daughter of a friend from church died from breast cancer.
I'll reveal a few secrets when we Zoom, re the show.
-
Got word this morning thst the daughter of a friend from church died from breast cancer.
Oh, no! :(
-
Elmore, I had the same thing happen but with episode three - it just refuses to play on the TV. ALL other episodes play fine on the TV. All play perfectly on the computer, which is what I recommend or just watch that episode on the computer and I'm sure the others will work fine. No one else but us has reported any issues.
-
Sorry to hear about Jim Wilhelm, who I spent a lot of time talking about when I did that Laurie Beechman podcast a couple of weeks ago - very nice man.
-
Seems like Amazon's being jerkish about the reviews and they'll probably take all three days - they sure don't do that for new books or movies. I'm guessing they're sitting on at least ten, maybe more.
-
Funny - there's an actor named Robert H. Harris. That's where my mind went.
-
Condolences on your loss, DR elmore3003.
The HuffPost headline on Carlson is priceless: Tuck off!
-
I can hear Cora Hoover Hooper yell, Brilliant!
-
Indeed!
-
OH - I remembered what I wanted to ask:
BK - what was the prop that you needed for filming that couldn't be found in all of Manhattan?
-
The prop was vampire teeth - I wanted the full kind that every dime store used to have at Halloween, which is when we shot this - but no one had them. We found what we used on Amazon and they worked fine, but it was weird.
-
Probably should go get a Subway sandwich or some such thing.
-
No drinks here so I'll have to attend to that soon.
-
:)
-
Thanks for answering that, BK!
I had no problems with Episode 3 on my television.
It was Episode 4 that died.
But episode three for me. Watch four on your computer, but all others should run fine on your TV. That's how it was for me when three didn't work on my TV.
I could not get Amazon Prime to move on to Episode 5. It insisted on trying to rev up 4.
I just discovered that Welcome to My World, A Carol Christmas, and The Brain from Planet X are all streaming on Apple Music.
-
Hoping that Sami will follow at some point.
-
One more.
-
FIVE.
-
Larry, that doesn't make any sense. You should have a list of episodes on the page and should be able to click on the next one. That's what I did.
-
Now that I've seen the series, I want to go back and read all the daily Notes for the days BK was filming.
-
I would like the Sami songs on Spotify, as that is mostly how I listen to music.
-
Condolences to DR ELMORE & DR JOHN G
My doctor couldn't find the results of my last colonoscopy.....he looked for several minutes....
I told him it was October, 2021, and told him the name of the doctor.
He finally said....well....here in my notes on your September visit to me you said you had a colonoscopy scheduled for October 3.....hmmmm......oh well here it is.....these records are not very organized......
-
Larry, that doesn't make any sense. You should have a list of episodes on the page and should be able to click on the next one. That's what I did.
You are right. I just tried to watch Ep. 5; it wouldn't load in. Then a notice popped up, saying my bandwidth is low. So I called Spectrum and they said it's an Amazon Prime issue and they couldn't help.
-
DR elmore3003, I had some problems with Netflix loading episodes, and it turned out that I just needed to unplug my tv for 30 seconds and that solved the problem. Worth a try, anyway.
-
I'm sure it is very frustrating.
-
Got word this morning thst the daughter of a friend from church died from breast cancer.
So sad. My condolences.
Then I have a book discussion meeting.
Laters
....hmmmm......oh well here it is.....these records are not very organized......
Do we need to revisit his original diagnosis from this morning? 8)
Unplugging things always seems to work - had to do it with my Firestick several times.
-
DR elmore3003, I had some problems with Netflix loading episodes, and it turned out that I just needed to unplug my tv for 30 seconds and that solved the problem. Worth a try, anyway.
I will try that. Thanks!
-
Low bandwidth is also a problem if that's a thing - I pay for hi-speed Internet with Spectrum, so never have those issues.
-
Hope you get it solved - or watch on the computer.
-
That said, I do think it's a problem emanating from Amazon itself as I had the same issue with episode three.
-
Which still won't play.
-
Also, how are you getting it to your TV, that's a big question. Every now and then, I have to clear the caches of the Firestick if things are slow or won't load.
-
No galley today so I wrote again and said this is not acceptable. Well over a week now, and what we sent them was a PRINT READY file and all they had to do was drop in the right ISBN numbers on the copyright page, which should have taken all of about a minute. We should have had a galley the next day.
-
Len Goodman from Dancing with the Stars has died.
I'm very sad about this news. Even though he wasn't going to be on the show anymore it really surprised me.
-
My friend, the wonderful agent Jim Wilhelm, has died. His agency was called "The Home of Musical Comedy." When I last saw Kim Criswell, she had been to hospital to see him, and I knew his time was running out. He was a dear man.
Great pie fight. Just watched episode two.
-
DR John G. contributed mightily.
-
I have a two-hour online training tomorrow, but fortunately I do not have to be on camera.
-
So I have called off the wardrobe, makeup, and hair folks.
-
They were glad to have a day off.
-
Just a day?
-
I did NOT give Chef the day off, however.
-
Chef and Driver must continue working.
-
Gardener will have his hands full soon, after the snow stops flying.
I have a lovely batch of fresh Brussels Sprouts to roast - I mean, for Chef to roast.
I enjoyed my book group discussion on Lessons in Chemistry.
I guess that's better than Lessons in Husbandry.
In Sandition, the soprano who was to sing for the king is getting ready to sing the aria from Marriage of Figaro that I heard with the philharmonic recently. What a treat to hear it twice.
-
Just spent a hugely frustrating forty minutes dealing with this Firestick stuff - if elmore has that then he's gonna have to do what I did. I turned on the Firestick and none of my apps like Prime or HBO Max were showing up. My continue watching was there - but the apps were gone. I somehow got it back by going to the left and looking at my saved video list and choosing something but by the time I finished watching the movie, it was back to no apps so I went to the help screen and they had the call me now icon, which I used.
-
They called me - had me unplug the Firestick (first asked me to unplug the TV but that's not possible, unfortunately. So I unplugged for sixty seconds and re-plugged. Now, when I had a different issue of nothing loading a couple of weeks ago, I Googled and fixed it by doing a simple reset. But I couldn't remember where that was. This guy had me go to it (My Firestick TV) but instead of having me do a simple reset he had me click on revert to factory settings, which I think was unnecessary but who knows - I think had I clicked on the other option it would have taken a minute rather than the next thirty.
-
Because what happens when you do a factory reset is it's like using the Firestick for the first time. So, I had to re-register it, which was a pain in the ASS, but first I had to choose the Spectrum wi-fi and it needed that password - all my passwords are saved in the Cloud so I never know what they are for the wi-fi - I know I wrote it down but I looked two weeks ago and couldn't find it. So, that was a whole drama in itself. I had to call Spectrum, go through the usual minutes of prompts, then got a guy on the phone and he told me what it was and this time I put it in a document and saved it. So, that got me set up, then I had to go through all the set-up steps again as if I was using it for the first time.
-
We finally got that done, but it required going from the TV to the computer to the TV to the computer. And then finally, mercifully, it was back and guess what - episode three played fine. So, if elmore is using a Firestick to get Prime on his TV then he'll have to do what I did - but I'd have him choose the simple restart (not reset) option, which I think will fix it so he doesn't go through what I did. The Amazon guy had the personality of a stick, so he was annoyingly annoying.
-
So clearly the glitch for elmore and I is an Amazon issue with the Firestick.
-
Sounds like you should use Kindle-ling to start a fire and burn up the Firestick.
-
The dreaded page seven.
-
Burn the whole thing up, I say.
-
Let's have an immolation.
-
What a day, what a day, for an Auto-da-fé.
-
A conflagration.
-
A baked Alaska.
-
A weenie roast.
-
Nancy Drew and the Case of the Missing Episode.
-
A spine-tingling tale of utmost and unbearable tension.
-
A cliff-hanger, as it were.
-
It's way past my beditme.
-
And I'm babbling.
-
Like a babbling brook.
-
Not pond scum.
-
They say that still waters run deep.
-
But I wouldn 't know.
-
Well, we're a sight closer to eight than we were before.
-
I guess.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Lucky #200.
-
Good evening !
-
Good evening
-
I am very sorry to hear of the losses suffered by Elmore and John G
-
Sending vibes and prayers of comfort
-
Good night, all.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
It's rank.
-
I had a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings earlier.
-
Wondering if I should eat a little something else? Maybe I'll zip over to Ralph's. They have super cheap but good wraps and small sandwiches for five bucks.
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
8 is fate!
-
Ninety minutes later and here we sit.
-
Went to Ralph's and took a chance on a "wet" chicken burrito, which they make fresh every day and put in the fast food case, refrigerated. $4.99. I heated it up for three minutes in the microwave and I'm here to tell you it was really good and I don't think you could have a much cheaper meal. I'll be doing that again - filling and tasty and I put a little sour cream on top just because I could.
-
And now I must really write some damn notes and perhaps we'll be off this damn page by the time I finish.
-
Oh really? REALLY?
-
George never comes back.
-
He goes down some damn rabbit hole, as if THAT were acceptable.
-
He just disappears into the good night for two HOURS?
-
Most unseemly.
-
Obviously we're not getting off this page anytime soon, thanks to THAT.
-
He will need to stand in the corner and flog himself like Judge Turpin.
-
I'm listening to music.
-
And as Gilbert O'Sullivan put it: Alone Again, Naturally.
-
No George.
-
No posts.
-
Just li'l ol' me trying to keep the home fries burning.
-
It's just me and the night and the music.
-
Alone together.
-
Only the lonely.
-
Think I'll eat some damn worms.
-
And now it's been two and a half HOURS since George went to other lands.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Well, we're not that far away from a new page, not thanks to errant and truant George, down some damn rabbit hole.
-
I don't know.
-
Don't ask me.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
