Well, you've read the notes, the notes held the new book, and now it is time for you to post until the holding the new book cows come home.

And the word of the day is: EPONYMOUS!

Good morning, all!
-
I woke to find CBS News was broadcasting the coronation of King Charles. I've been listening to it.
-
I am very happy for the awards handed out to BK and Sami yesterday.
-
I slept rather well, my first good night in three, and I think I will not wander about today behaving like a George Romero zombie.
-
I have two weekend goals for the ballet: finish the Rodeo Parade (No. 16) and write the corrections to segments of several numbers.

In Islington, there is a memorial to Annabelle's beloved Bob the Street Cat who died in June 2020 when he was hit by a car. He's ready now for the coronation.
-
One month until vacation. Can I stay sane for that long?

Nice.

I’m supposed to get up and go buy plants. But it’s also supposed to storm.
-
Not a good night of sleep. Too warm.
-
Or as Oscar Hammerstein might say, very warm for May.
-
Don’t know any of the horses running in the derby today.

Good morning, friends.

I awoke to find everyone processing out of Westminster Abbey already, so I'll have to find a replay somewhere to listen to all the choral music.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Loved that surprise twist at the end. The writers really scored with that one!
-
I have exactly two (2) free hours left in my day, after which I'll be getting ready to head out for our closing two-show (plus dinner) extravaganza.

Or as Oscar Hammerstein might say, very warm for May.
And here's where Oscar got the phrase. "The Arcadians" was a big hit in both American and England.

I just watched a few short clips of the coronation on CNN.com

HA! I watched most of the coronation on CBS - I don't have cable/streaming in the computer room and that's the only network I can get in there that was showing it.

Sweet!
-
Belated birthday greetings to DR George!
Thanks, Ginny!!
-
Great pictures, John!
-
Back from terrible eggs Benedict at Hugo's - worst I've ever had. Hard yellows (I always am very specific that the whites have to be fully cooked but the yellows run) weird-tasting Hollandaise, and underdone English muffins. They're just too hit and miss with it over there - last time it was perfect.
-
Otherwise, I just drove around. looked around, and here I am.
-
;)
-
Coronation Day greetings! We got up at 5am for the festivities and enjoyed the cherry almond scones I baked yesterday for the occasion.
What fun, not that I would get up at 5am. I have looked at the lovely photos. I haven't had time to look for any clips yet.
-
A bleeding-heart vine.
That's pretty.
-
My garden kitty
Cute :)
-
Otherwise, I just drove around. looked around, and here I am.
If you were with Toni Tennille, you could have shopped around.
-
DR Jrand thanks for the update on the VapoRub.
-
The early film of Razor’s Edge is odd. They don’t make it about the war at all, as if PTSD, or being shell shocked, as they called it then, were the condition that dare not mention its name.

Otherwise, I just drove around. looked around, and here I am.
If you were with Toni Tennille, you could have shopped around.
Do you want to be Toni Tennille, Singdaw?

Not particularly. :)

Thunderstorms starting.
-
The weather here looks threatening, as well.
-
I suppose the plants will like the rain, however.
-
Now I'm hearing thunder here, too.
-
It must be catching.
-
We got 0.1 inches of rain out back. It looks like it rained harder up front.
-
Phone call interrupted the movie.
-
Will have to finish later.

Rental car prices are like extortion.

Uno mas.

Four!

Only three pages to page seven.
-
We don't need no stinkin' page seven.
-
We got the rain.
-
We got the thunder.
-
But we didn't get lightning.
-
Or lightning bugs.
-
I did get a delicious nap in this afternoon.
-
And overall today, I've accomplished exactly squat.
-
Which is fine by me.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Congrats to BK on the arrival of the new book.
-
Congrats again the BK on the Sami awards. Are they certificates? I can’t really tell from the photo.
-
Nice pictures from DR JOHN G.
I am looking for a nice plant to put on the table on my front porch. Hopefully I will find it next week.
-
I was kind of hungry until I read about MR BK's eggs.
-
Half an hour or so until Kentucky Derby post time.....
-
I loved last year's race when that unknown horse - who was a replacement for a horse scratched less than 24 hours before the race - ran and won!
All of those high powered horse men and trainers and pundits had to eat a lot of crow that day.
-
Prior to Sami I don’t recall hearing about short-form comedy. Are others doing this? It makes sense as a showcase for the real Sami, but would you want season 2 to also be short? Streaming doesn’t usually involve commercials so that makes a difference. So much is changing!
-
Hi, Jrand.
-
Coronation Day greetings! We got up at 5am for the festivities and enjoyed the cherry almond scones I baked yesterday for the occasion.
Your scones sound good, DR Ginny. Did you use almond flour or almond extract? I’m seeing more use of almond flour as a substitute for wheat.
-
Your plants look lovely, John G. Does your garden kitty upset JB? ;)
-
TTFN.
-
Wow! A couple we know here in Middletown are part owners of the horse that just won the Kentucky Derby!

Almond extract, DR Jeanne, and dried cherries from Traverse City, Michigan.

Rental car prices are like extortion.
When we went to Phoenix we waited until the day before we were leaving to rent a car. Flip took us back to the airport to pick it up. Plus there was the downtown hotel fee to park the car.

I order them from the Smeltzer Orchard.

Michigan is known for their dried cherries.

DR Ginny, your scones sound good.

If we do a season two, the episodes will be at least fifteen minutes.

Hi DR JEANNE.
-
DR GINNY that's fantastic.
It was a great race and the Mage really came on in the furlong!

Wow! A couple we know here in Middletown are part owners of the horse that just won the Kentucky Derby!
Wow. Congrats to them.
I caught a glimpse of Helen celebrating in a group of the owners just as the NBC broadcast was ending.

I just saw a photo, it was a good win.

Good name.

This is a very, very, very, very slow posting day.
-
Very.
-
Shouldn't we be on page ten already.
-
We should.
-
And yet, we're not.
-
We're not even halfway to six.
-
Or paradise.
-
Must shower and them meet the Wechters for dinner. After that bogus eggs Benedict I'm ready for something that actually tastes good.
-
Whatever that might be.
-
I don't know what that might be.
-
I think I've seen that guy before. Can't quite put a finger on it.

If I'm going out to a restaurant, I like to view the menu online beforehand so I know what's what.

But it's a struggle.

With the dearth of postings.

One more.

SIX.

Do I hear twelve?

No?

I'd settle for ten.

What is going on in Churchill Downs? 7 horses dead in the last week?
-
It took 8 hefty horses to drag that 4-ton golden carriage around the streets of London.
-
Good evening
-
Today was a beautiful day for a change
-
Warm and sunny
-
Hope it holds through next week
-
A friend and I were planning on a short road trip to see a band on tour in the Carolinas
-
But the tour was just cancelled
-
Unfortunately her flight to NYC ( she lives in England) was non refundable
-
So she’s coming anyway and we’re going to play in NYC instead
-
But the tour was just cancelled
Sorry.
-
So she’s coming anyway and we’re going to play in NYC instead
That sounds like fun. Will you take day trips or stay in the city?
-
New plans include seeing the Encores production of Oliver!, seeing the “horror play” Grey House, eating at the Ukrainian restaurant Veselka, and seeing a local musician we know play at a piano lounge in the East Village
-
So she’s coming anyway and we’re going to play in NYC instead
That sounds like fun. Will you take day trips or stay in the city?
I’m going to go in and share her hotel room
-

Perfect.
-
It sounds as if you will have a great time.

-
Sorry about the plan change, DR vixmom, but it still sounds like a great reunion.
-
I guess I'm gonna have to do a countdown.

Quantity over quality.

In 4...

3...

2...

1...

Seven!
-
My counting actually worked that time.

It often doesn't.

Good night, friends.

No. He ignores everything outdoors.

She’s good. I’m not that swift. On so many levels.
-
Home from dancing. It’s getting warmer in the evenings.
-
Back to The Razor’s Edge. This version is more about Gene Tierney’s character than Tyrone Power’s.
-
Loved that movie. Makes me want to read the book again.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
It needed to be said.
-
And I have said it.
-
Had a really fun meal with the Wechters at CPK in Encino. I think that will be my last time going there - they've now removed thirteen items from their menu, including the roasted garlic chicken pizza, the one thing I get there. Instead, I had the spaghetti bolognese which we pretty bad - for a meat sauce there was about an eighth of an ounce of meat. And not very tasty. And they tell you right on the menu that somehow this four ounces of pasta with a runny red sauce with almost no meat is 900 calories. I'm guessing it was more like 500.
-
The extras included some interesting MovieTone bits. One was a clip of Anne Baxter receiving her Oscar from Lionel Barrymore. Another showed the stars and Brenda Frazier.
You know, I’ve been through Brenda Frazier and I’m here.
-
Now starting something potentially odd. Hi Diddle Diddle. Starring Adolphe Menjou, Martha Scott, Pola Negri, Billie Burke, June Havoc, Dennis O’Keefe. At 71 minutes, it won’t overstay its welcome.
-
We’re stuck on seven.
-
I wish I had bet on the derby. I had picked Mage.

And that Sondheim fellow.
-
Gratuitous post 200!
-
Ten more posts and we’ll be off page seven.
-
Or something like that.
-
What was happening with those poor horses today?
-
I’m tired.
-
And I am fading.
-
And I have nothing to say.
-
But that has never stopped me.

Sleep is calling.

Eight.

Good night, all.
-
At least we're off that page I do not care for.
-
Perhaps George will return at some point.
-
I'm just flitting around the Internet because I'm not in the mood for love or watching anything.
-
Did you know, for example, that when the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore?
-
Dean Martin told me so.
-
I once did a rewrite of a script about a girl's volleyball team for Lou son of Sam Arkoff. I punched it up good, added tons of laughs - never got made but was read all over town. A year later, Rodney Dangerfield's Back to School comes out with MY great joke and we know they read it. They just stole MY great joke wholesale. The joke? I named the dean of the school Dean Martin. A great running gag throughout. Thanks rip-off artists, although I can't blame you because it WAS a great joke.
-
The things you learn here at haineshisway.com.
-
Leave it to George to disappear for an entire evening - some rabbit hole.
-
He'll BE a rabbit one of these days.
-
It is shameful to go two hours without a single post.
-
Even a married post.
-
I, myself, was married.
-
But now we're way post marriage.
-
And that's a good thing.
-
I knew it - three HOURS with no posts - George, as is his wont, deserted us completely and so it's doubtful we'll get off this damn page.
-
Unless I take matters into my own hands.
-
Which it looks like I must do.
-
George has some serious 'splainin' to do.
-
Ridic.
-
No treats for George for causing these issues.
-
No porridge.
-
No candy apples.
-
No, nothing for the errant and truant. Three damn HOURS.
-
Nothing.
-
Nada.
-
Squat.
-
Will he EVER show up?
-
Or will he just hit the hay and not come back until morning?
-
To be or not to be - that is the question.
-

You may remember BK's previous series, the Outside the Box series where the Outside the Box theater company puts on ridiculous (but hysterical) musical adaptations!
-
Page nine, no thanks to the errant and truant you-know-who.
-
Wow! A couple we know here in Middletown are part owners of the horse that just won the Kentucky Derby!
Congrats to the couple who are part owners!
-
I remember Outside the Box. Short form comedy. Did I invent the genre?
-
George had finally made an appearance.
-
After three HOURS.
-
In three hours we could have been on page fifteen.
-
But nooooo...
-
What, has he already gone down a rabbit hole again?
-
Maybe I shouldn't have had two donuts.

Because they are sitting in my stomach like so much fish, not digesting at all.

Damn them, damn them all to HELL.

I'll be popping a few Pepcids, that much if certain.
-
But it's not the GUNS.
-
Uh huh. These people are just wishing their victims dead.

Not. It is, I'm afraid, the damn assault weapons.
-
Do I hear twelve?
No, but I Hear Bells (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysYnHIEXIyE) by Maltby and Shire...I love this song!

I don't know.

What is going on in Churchill Downs? 7 horses dead in the last week?
What?? :o

I could, of course, tell the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Matzoh Ball.

That's a good one.

A friend and I were planning on a short road trip to see a band on tour in the Carolinas
But the tour was just cancelled
Oh, no!

See?

Well, we got to page ten. And we still have ten minutes to go.

So she’s coming anyway and we’re going to play in NYC instead
That's great!

I wish these damn donuts would digest.

Home from dancing. It’s getting warmer in the evenings.
Here, too.
-
In only a few (couple?) weeks, we'll be able to play Phase 10 outside on my mom's covered back patio. :)

Why is it that we lose hair and it never comes back, but when one gets to be a certain age, one's eyebrows suddenly become bush gardens? I do not understand that at ALL.

I was watching videos on The Meidas Touch (https://www.youtube.com/@MeidasTouch)...they are quite informative.

I have actually had several treats today, including a delicious maple donut from my sister. :D

PAGE ELEVEN GRATUITOUS POST #300 DANCE!!

I only like Ben on that channel, but he takes so damn long to get to the POINT. I have gotten him to change his ways on certain things, through - he does read the comments and does learn. I hate a couple of the other commentators.
-
Is George going to the park today?
-
Shouldn't we be on page !5? We would be if it wasn't for the damn rabbit holes.
-
What, has he already gone down a rabbit hole again?
A rabbit hole of ketchuping on today's posts.
-
And?
-
All I know for certain is when the red red robin comes bob bob bobbin' along, along things will be better.
That's a great song, and Guy Haines' version is the tops!
-
Damn donuts.

They just sit there like so much lumpen fish.
-
Guy loves that song. I do, too, ever since I saw I'll Cry Tomorrow at the Stadium Theater.
-
New notes are up.

Why is it that we lose hair and it never comes back, but when one gets to be a certain age, one's eyebrows suddenly become bush gardens? I do not understand that at ALL.
Welcome to being a human. :-\
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I think you should make a damn haineshisway.com version of Phase 10.
That would be fun...or we could actually make a HHW version of Monopoly! That would be really cool!
-
I get rid of the extra eyebrow bushes - it's easy. Teddy, my hairdresser of many years until his passing, taught me how. But I never had this issue until after I turned sixty. EVER.
-
Is George going to the park today?
I did earlier today...for a music rehearsal. It went quite well.
-
Damn donuts.
-
I get rid of the extra eyebrow bushes - it's easy. Teddy, my hairdresser of many years until his passing, taught me how. But I never had this issue until after I turned sixty. EVER.
A woman that I used to work with (she retired several years ago) used to have her eyebrows trimmed and they looked kinda weird. ::)
