Well, you've read the notes, the notes had stand-up comedy, and now it is time for you to post until the stand-up comedy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GUISER!
-
Good morning, all!
-
By the time I finished the laundry yesterday, after two days of it, my body could barely move. I took the day rather easily after that, and to my delifgr there were no heath calamities. I was feeling puny, though, so I went to bed at 8:00 and slept rather well to 5:30 this morning. Annabelle crawled in to cuddle and Thatch joined us. I finally got up around 6:30, and I'm feeling rather well at the moment.
-
DR Rodzinskim that Facebook post was supposedly delete3d; they accused the post of inciting violence. Well, around 6:00 last night it was still up, but I noticed that their notification of my crime had been deleted . Yes, there is very likely a "friend" who keeps reporting me, although the day I called Melania Trump a savvy whore, the post was deleted and I was censured within a minute of the post going up.
-
This morning has been a bit of a mess, thanks to Stella's bolt into the hall and my spending over thirty minutes of trying to coax her back into the apartment.
-
BK, I love you but I absolutely loathe the binding on the folio for Tonight's the Night, which is flimsy and unusable on a piano stand. It needed to be spiral-bound/ Perhaps nowit is, but mine is not. I am an unhappy music consumer.
-
Otherwise, I'd love the song folio because I loved the songs!

DR elmore3003 - these are individual PDF files.

Good morning, friends.
-
Isn't it great that we get to start over fresh every morning?
-
Good morning, all.
-
It's a gray day here, once again.
-
Had weird dreams that I was trying out for a job as a feature writer at a newspaper. It was a weird setup. In 10 days, I wrote maybe eight stories, none of which had run at that point. But I wasn’t going to get the job because I didn’t mingle enough with my coworkers and I couldn’t remember anybody’s name. My work area was like a department store home, and I was supposed to write while on a king-sized bed, shared by two other writers. My boss was also unhappy because I worked too many hours. Then the stories started appearing and people loved them, but I had been let go.
-
There was something in there about making a cake for one of the stories. I didn’t follow the recipe but made it my way with homemade raspberry filling. I was getting criticized for frosting it wong, but I was only putting on the crumb layer, which my boss had never heard of. People raved about the cake. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
-
I usually don’t remember things that vividly.
-
And I remember saying to myself last night while falling asleep, no work dreams.
-
Fat lot of good that did.

Psychodelic.

But only if you push it.

Otherwise, it just sits there.

Good morning, all.

Got the songs ordered! :) BK, you may have gotten my two or three aborted attempts last night in addition to the one I just completed. Sorry about that!
Anyway, the checkmarked selections on the Sami site apparently do NOT carry over into Venmo, which insists that you write something in the box or you simply can't go on.
Speaking of which, it's bizarre that Venmo defaults to making the content of everyone's orders public -- meaning, I could see what George and singdaw and someone else had written and requested. It kind of looked like a comments section at first, then I realized I was seeing their orders. So if any of them had written anything additional to BK that wasn't meant to be posted publicly, too bad. To test this, I believe I caught the public/private/friends selector and made mine private -- just because, since I wasn't writing anything personal anyway. But I wanted to try it.
Bottom line, for my purposes I'm not enamored of Venmo thus far. It seems geared toward being an informal "social" way of passing money around for today's generation of younger people who want everything they do shared publicly or with friends. Coincidentally, I had just been told that the concessions at last week's show had taken Venmo for dozens of transactions. That blows my mind, but apparently people never have their phone out of their hand, and/or they don't carry a few dollars cash for anything. One of the new normals?

I'm confused, sorry! I just checked my folios of Tonight's the Night and Welcome to My World, and they're both spiral-bound. Or are you referring to how stiff the covers are? I'm always using a full size music stand, but I think these stand up on the shorter built-in type on some keyboards, too. Please correct me if I'm not understanding.
-
Not a fan of Venmo. I prefer Zelle, which is more person to person, and PayPal.
-
Yes, I purchased sheet music. And I don't care who knows it. ;)
-
And apparently, everyone knows it.
-
I believe the Dream-O-Matic accepts Venmo.
-
IN addition to PayPal.
-
But only with PayPal can you file a patented dispute.
-
A dispute of ill repute.
-
And what other kind is there, really?

When you think about it.

DR vixmom, I'll have at least one of everything on that menu.

Have a great celebratory day!

Yes, I purchased sheet music. And I don't care who knows it. ;)
Careful, DR singdaw, there might be a neighborhood watch list for that kind of activity. :)
-
Vixmom, I really hope you thought to bring back enough for all of us.

No. my folio is not spiral bound. It's a very flimsy set of two binder strips at the side of the folio, awkward and impossible to use for anything but reading and reassembling. I am very happy to hear this is no longer the case.
-
As to PDFs and taping sheets of music together, I only do that for things I'm recording.
-
I forgot to say thanks yesterday to DR CHAS SMITH for the Adventures in Auditions.
-
I am still laughing at Mal Z.

There were a lot of entertaining clips on HHW yesterday.

DR VIXMOM have fun.
-
I hope DR JANE reached her destination.

DR JOHN G the Dream-O-Matic 6000 says that your dream reveals your feelings about those you work with. You have many ideas that could probably make the work environment or process more efficient but seem to be blocked by bureaucracy.
Of course your work provides your living but you feel the environment is too impersonal.
There are changes afoot AT THE TOP so hang in there.

Please deposit $35 in my PayPal account. We do not accept Venmo.

I am glad DR ELMORE is feeling better.

TOD:
When I am out and about - enjoying a DR VIXMOM phase - I like to order a CLUB sandwich....
When I am home I like to make a Chicken/Ham/Roast Beef sandwich with mayo and American Cheese.....sometimes in the microwave....and sometimes with a tomato.
-
Jack Benny used to appear regularly at the Starlight Musicals outdoor theatre in Indianapolis.
One year a lady invited him to her house for dinner.....he went....and every year afterwards he would call her up and have dinner at her house when he was in town.
-
TOD:
You can't really beat a good BLT. Sometimes a BLTA.
-
I also love open-face turkey or roast beef sandwiches.
-
THREE.
-
Oh, heck - I love almost any kind of sandwich.
-
What's not to love?
-
Bread
-
Foodstuffs
-
I have to hand it to the Earl of Sandwich.
-
But I'm not going to.

I want it all for myself.

DR sngdaw, a good BLT would be heaven!
-
I love so many kinds of sandwiches it's not even funny. To single any one out would be a lesson in absurdity. I think the Earl's creation is one of the finest food delivery systems ever imagined.

Hello, everyone.
-
My favorite sandwich used to be cheese and avocado on whole grain bread. But my body has let me know that all dairy products are a no-no, so I often have a veggie sandwich of avocado, lettuce, tomato, and Veganaise.
-
We have been having little earthquakes all morning. Nothing serious, but disconcerting all the same.
-
I tried a new restaurant yesterday that Bruce might like, the Calif Chicken Cafe. (They don’t spell out California in their name.) Since I don’t eat chicken I hadn’t paid any attention to it, but they have a veggie wrap that was quite good.
Bruce, have you tried this place? There’s one in Encino. It’s take-out and delivery only. Lots of very good reviews. I’ll be ordering from them again.

I love this!
-
I have no experience with Venmo, but my recent experiences with Zelle were enough to make me avoid such products. (I was locked out of my checking account for 48 hours on TWO occasions because the bank’s software determined that there was fraudulent activity even though I explained repeatedly that there was not.) I use PayPal when I have to, but avoid it otherwise because they say one thing, then do another and will NOT refund any fees.

That immediately made me think of a favorite at the little coffee shop next door to the Beverly Canon Theatre. Seems like it was called the Canon Café in the mid-1970s. My regular sandwich was a delicious bacon, avocado and swiss - with mayo, and possibly lettuce but I'm not sure about the lettuce.
I was eating an avocado and thinking about that just the other day.
-
Tiny little place with just a counter and stools, but when I was going there they also had a few outdoor tables.

You could call me a cranky banking customer. I like good customer service, so of course I’m annoyed. I‘ve noticed that if you have dealings with any of the brokerage houses or other investment companies they are very, very nice. It’s like two separate universes.
-
The earthquakes continue.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven and a half hours of sleep.
-
Zelle works well for some and not at all for others, so that wasn't an option. I'm confused by Venmo. I tried to set up the Kritzerland part of it (tied to my personal account) but while you can do that part on your computer, you can't actually see it unless you have the app on your phone. That's just weird to me. Anyway, I'll go in and check the settings. I wasn't aware you had to write anything to use it nor am I seeing those comments on the app.
-
Back to sandwiches, I feel that fresh, high-quality bread is of great importance. That is often overlooked. But it makes a big difference to this customer.
-
Are you having earthquakes, Bruce?

TTFN.

I've always liked my neighbor Alice's sandwich:
Whole wheat bread, 2 scrambled eggs, alfalfa sprouts, water cress, and ranch dressing
-
I met Monkey. There just might be a photo.
-
Oh, I hope so!
-
So glad that you arrived safely, DR Jane, and that you had a wonderful reunion this morning.
-
elmore, yes, the very first copies of the Tonight's the Night songbook were not bound the way I asked them to be. We eventually did a second run, although they wouldn't acknowledge that I'd asked for spiral bound in the first place. If you send me an e-mail we'll send you one of the spiral bound. As to the Sami songs, not worth it to do a songbook - it's costly and we never sell enough to break even.
-
So glad that you arrived safely, DR Jane, and that you had a wonderful reunion this morning.
Thank you.

It is very disappointing Freyja is sick.
-
I can't afford to be sick as I have two important medical appointments when I return.
-
Last night I finished Preview Harvey.
-
I liked it.
-
After I finished, I reread a few bits.

Thursday afternoon greetings! The most ambitious thing I’ve done today is bake banana muffins.

I saw a comic on the Jerry Lewis Telethon once I wish I could find again. He was an old-timer. His schtick was to put his hand up to his face like he was removing a mask, and when he did, he would change facial expressions and personalities while casting off the old “mask” to the floor. He was so fast at this that the illusion that he was changing masks seemed real and he sped the whole thing up in hilarious fashion.
-
Indeed I am DR singdaw.
-
Healing vibes for Freya.....and visiting vibes for DR JANE.
-
the day has gotten away from me and now it is nearly time to go to rehearsal - where we will be doing ACT ONE.....

I hope DR GEORGE gives a bit more thought to the feelings of his character so that it will POP onstage.

This is good news, BK, because when I got the folio and opened the envelope, my first reaction was, what's run away with his mind? I'll send an email to you.
-
I had a good morning, called Access-a-Ride and my barber for tomorrow morning, wrote about 12 bars of a 16-bar fix, then took my bath, fed the cats, went back to the score, and the health crisis of Monday and Tuesday returned. My neighbor Ann had suggested I keep a pan handy. Well, I did, just in case, but you have to hit the pan. I hit half of it. So, I had a small mess to clean up. Then I finished the score, finessed it, and gave the cats their treat. I'm turning off the computer and lying down.

Amen. I hate spongy bread that has no character. Blimpie used to have the worst bread. I haven’t been in years because of it.

I am at the venue for the concert tonight. Jaime Bernstein (Lenny's daughter) is here. Andrea Burns is here. But guess who isn't here? Seth Rudetsky! He apparently double-booked.

I liked Blimpie, but they closed their one store around here years ago.

Topic of the Day: Pellegrino's (https://pellegrinositaliankitchen.com/), a local Italian restaurant, makes the best Monte Cristo that I've ever had. It's only on their lunch menu, so I can't get it in the evening.
-
Another local place, Red Wagon (https://www.redwagontumwater.com/), has a pretty good Club sandwich. :)
-
Sandwiches that I make at home are usually just what I have on hand, which isn't much for sandwiches. Right now, I have some hard boiled eggs that my sister gave me, so I'll be making some egg salad sandwiches soon.
-
Preview Harvey makes a pretty mean Swiss cheese sandwich that sent me to the store to make my own. It’s plain and simple, but that’s what made it sound so good.
-
I’m indifferent to too many sandwiches around here because this isn’t a bread town. It’s a tortilla town.
-
Dancing was fun. Trying to help a couple learn to move together. They tried and started to get it.
-
It is very disappointing Freyja is sick.

I am staying with her. The big question is if I will get sick.

Dinner consisted of a plate of roasted cauliflower dipped in a bit of hummus. Quite tasty.

Am thinking about going out and putting some gas in the motor car so I don't have to worry about it later.
-
If I do that, then I'll probably go to Gelson's and pick up a couple of items I need.
-
Page nine.

What a coinkydink! I put gas in my motor car this afternoon.
-
I went to Fred Meyer because I have their rewards card and got 10¢ a gallon off!
-
Depending how much you spend at Fred Meyer, you can get up to $1.00 off per gallon.
-
I've never spent enough at FM to get the entire dollar off.
-
I think the most I've ever gotten off was 25¢ a gallon.
-
DR singdaw, that was interesting news about Seth and Audra.
-
The regular FM price was $4.17⁹, so I only paid $4.07⁹ per gallon.
-
I don't know how much the cost was at Costco today...I forgot to check.

They were performing at a synagogue 5 minutes from where I live.
-
Had I known, I would have invited them over for dinner.
😊
-
Hello, Iris.
-
They were peeforming at a synagogue 5 minutes from where I live.
Cool!
-
No more earthquakes for DR Jeanne!
-
I felt dozens of earthquakes when I lived in L.A.
Only a few of them were scary.
-
I have achieved a new millstone.
😄
-
A Space Odyssey.
-
Hi, George!
-
I have achieved a new millstone.
😄
Why, yes you have! And here it is!
-
Does your show open next week?
You must be excited.
-
It's zoomed in...just a bit. ;D
-
Well, excited AND scared.
😊
-
Does your show open next week?
You must be excited.
It opens two weeks from tomorrow on the 26th, and yes, I'm pretty excited!
-
Thank you, George, for photographic evidence of my major achievement.
-
Which took almost 20 years.
-
Well, excited AND scared.
😊
Not scared. I've never gotten stage freight...even when I felt I wasn't as prepared as I should've been. ::)
;)
-
Which took almost 20 years.
One post at a time!
-
George, when is tech week?
Next week?
-
One Post At A Time.
.
The title of my next book.
-
George, when is tech week?
Next week?
The week after, starting on the 22nd.
-
Oh, look! It's Page Ten! :D
-
Wonderful to never experience stage fright.
You must have confidence in confidence alone.

Either that I'm just too unaware. ;D
-
Good night, HHW.
-
Good night, Iris.
-
I don't think dear reader Iris has ever invited ME over for dinner, although I do believe we HAVE dined.
-
The motor car is filled to the brim - sixty bucks but only because I still had a bit over a quarter of a tank.
-
Went to Gelson's and got stuff for Wacky Noodles, which I'll probably do tomorrow.
-
And I was hungry, since I hadn't eaten since 1:00 so I got a Wolfgang Puck Caesar salad - no chicken - so, that's not too bad.
-
And?
-
What?
-
I don't know.
-
Third base.
-
I feel confident that we will at least make page 11. Do NOT prove me wrong by going down rabbit holes.
-
DR Rodzinski at what age can I expect that to actually happen?

What about reading Preview Harry Harvey??
[Post corrected. ::) ]
-
I think we gotta aim for 12 tonight, gents.
-
Sorry to have missed the delightful Iris in real time.
-
Fred Meyer sells gas? Who knew?
-
We’re due for a Costco run.
-
Down to ol’ Washington Proper.
-
States I never imagined I’d live in even, say, 9 years ago… Delaware, Washington.

States I never imagined I’d live in even, say, 9 years ago… Delaware, Washington.
Who'da thunk it??
-
Of course I never would’ve believed as a kid in Indiana I’d live in NYC for 20 years.
-
10 years in Georgia was also a bit of a surprise.
-
Where will I not believe I live next?
-
George, aside from the method/character study (to death) approach, do you like your director? Do you think the cast as a whole likes the director?
-
RIP Jackie Zeman, from a guy who watched a ton of General Hospital as a kid and beyond.
-
And now we go to…

11th Heaven

Mother in Law making great strides towards normalcy and seems excited to move into assisted living facility we found.
Father in Law not taking it so well. MIL wanted me to come over today to help me get him to eat breakfast. I arrived to find him semi-awake but non-responsive in his easy chair. Called 911. They (and subsequently the hospital) can’t really find anything wrong with him physically. He just seems to have checked out. He was at least speaking this evening when my wife visited him at the hospital. Docs are mystified. I think the stress of having to move is making him want to curl up in a shell and do nothing. We’ll see what lies ahead.

Our director Lauren is really nice. She does know what she's doing, but (since this is my very first time working with her), I assume that she does all this work because it's a college production, but that's just my guess.
-
Jesse, the woman playing Dot/Marie, and I have been in shows together before, and Jesse has worked with Lauren before at the college, and Jesse said that that's the way she works...lots of "work" on the characters.

Oh, no. :(

Well, this is kinda cool. I downloaded an image of Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte:
(https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/7d/A_Sunday_on_La_Grande_Jatte%2C_Georges_Seurat%2C_1884.jpg/700px-A_Sunday_on_La_Grande_Jatte%2C_Georges_Seurat%2C_1884.jpg)
-
And several years ago, I bought this print on canvas, Adam Lister's A Sunday Afternoon #2:
-
Well, I just took those two images and created an animated gif that toggles between the two images! The original that I created was too large a file size to upload, so I had to smallerize it, but here it is:

I don't know from Preview Harry - but Preview Harvey is an acceptable rabbit hole. Anxious to get some reviews on Amazon.
-
We got to page eleven.
-
That cannot and will not be denied.
-
Only fools and simpletons would deny it.
-
And I am neither. Well...
-
Perhaps I've been both at times but who hasn't.
-
Who's on first.
-
What?
-
What's on second.
-
I don't know.
-
Third base.
-
I see George.
-
He must be reading either Preview Harry or Preview Harvey, hopefully the latter and not the former.
-
The Latter Not the Former is the title of my next novel.
-
Which will, of course, include the story of The Randy Vicar and the Egg Yolk.
-
That's a good one.
-
Really good.
-
I don't know from Preview Harry - but Preview Harvey is an acceptable rabbit hole. Anxious to get some reviews on Amazon.
AARRGGHH!! :o Very sorry about the title mistake.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Have you?
-
You's on first.
-
Me's on second.
-
Us's on third.
-
He must be reading either Preview Harry or Preview Harvey, hopefully the latter and not the former.
Definitely the latter.
-
Which will, of course, include the story of The Randy Vican and the Egg Yolk.
Vican...is that the German pronunciation of Wiccan??
;)
-
Fixed. I typed Vicar but it "fixed" it to Vican.
-
Which isn't a word.
-
So much for AI.
-
How far into the book is George.
-
We'd all like to know.
-
Ah, sweet mystery of life.
