Well, you've read the notes, the notes had no bad things, and now it is time for you to post until the no bad things cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SUPERGIANT!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
To answer BK's question from last night, I'm just starting Cassette Four.
-
Notes detected. Grasped.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I am awake in the middle of the night.
-
Don't know why.
-
DR DR Iris, congratulations on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!!!!!!!
-
The A/C in our apartment is broken. It's a bit warm; perhaps that's why I awake.
-
We are told they've special-ordered the part, and that they should be able to install it today (Friday), so I have my fingers crossed.

~~~IN-LAW VIBES~~~ for the Rodzinski clan!!!!!!!
~~~TRAVEL VIBES~~~ today for DR elmore3003!!!!!!!!
-
DR singdaw, I am also awake in the middle of the night.
Thanks for the congratulations on my new lofty perch.
-
BK, we have dined together on several occasions.
First time was at Joe Allen.
DR elmore joined us. It was my first time meeting him…a night of gossip and much laughter.
-
Next time was also at Joe Allen, around May of 2005.
We sat at a large table, along with the delightful Tony Walton and his lovely wife, Gen.
We had just finished recording “After The Ball”.
-
May 11, 2012, we had late night desserts at Joe Allen with Sandy Bainum and Lanny Meyers.
We shared their amazing chocolate fudge pudding cake with ice cream and whipped cream, along with several other desserts.
-
We went to dinner at Brooklyn Diner after Sandy Bainum’s cabaret at Don’t Tell Mama on Monday night, March 12, 2012.
It was a large group, including Lanny, many friends and family members of Sandy, and my friend Pam. I had a glass of wine and a baked potato.
-
I have a strange and inexplicable way of remembering things.
It’s a kind of photographic memory, which has its pros and cons.
I promise to invite you for dinner the next time we’re in the same town, Bruce. 😊
-
Health vibes to the in-laws of DR Rodzinski!
-
I suppose I will make another attempt at sleep.
-
Have a great day, everyone!

Ditto!!

I remember all those occasions, but am I misremembering a meal with your daughter in attendance? It would have been Joe Allen.
-
Thank you DR Iris. I am glad you have been able to post.
-
Four years old isn't far away. Thanks Rodzinski.
-
Very good news about your MIL, disappointing and sad news about your FIL. Sending vibes to he will improve.

Cool toggle George.

I am awake in the middle of the night.
I woke up at 3:00 and did not fall back to sleep.

Fingers crossed.

Bruce, you have an excellent memory!
Elyse did indeed join us the night we had dinner with Tony Walton and many others at Joe Allen.
I enjoyed listening to the two of you, such amusing banter!
-
Jane, I hope that you’re able to get some sleep.
Have fun with Freyja today!
-
George, I forgot to mention how much I like what you did with the two Seurat images.
That’s the art of making art!

Great Performances on PBS tonight is “Celebrating 50 Years of Broadway’s Best”.
It was filmed at Lincoln Center on March 23. A friend of mine attended and really enjoyed it.
It’s on tonight at 9pm on this coast, but check your local listings.
-
This has been a public service announcement.
-
Good morning, all!
-
After this frustrating week of bad health, I am a bit leery of stepping out today. Unfortunately, since it's my one day out this week, I've crammed it with errands. I need the barber visit badly, and I hope my walk there goes well. Access-a-Ride is picking me up there for my three-month checkup and surgical clearance. I'm expecting hell from my doctor since my A1C has risen from 6.3 to 7.0. After that, AAR will drop me off at the local Staples so I can scan ballet No. 16 and five pages of fixes to No. 7. I will be very happy to get home and happier if there are no grisly health messes along the way.
-
The doctor and I will be addressing these issues today. If it's something serious orchronic, I'm canceling the surgery to a later date.
-
DR George, your "Sunday in the Park" combo is quite amazing and delightful.
-
Last night I began reading Caryl Brahms' A Bullet in the Ballet. The star dancer of the Stroganoff Ballet company has been shot during a performance of Petrushka.
-
Good morning, all.
-
All best vibes for a successful outing, DR Elmore!
-
TOD
Alas, nothing.
One more week of this madness, then a more normal schedule that will allow time for some leisurely activities.
-
Tonight I’m schlepping the gear out to a dress rehearsal for the Ridgefield Chorale. It’s a semi-annual (?) concert they give, and it’s accompanied by a ten-piece band. It’s a new thing for me, and both the Chorale and the players around me are excellent. The concert is tomorrow night.
-
Once upon a time, I would be giddy about it being Friday. Not now, though. Friday is just another day that is easily indistinguishable from the other week days.
This week might just as well have been several Fridays strung together.
-
But, then, there was Thursday.
That's right. Yesterday was Thursday, and it wasn't like a Friday at all.
-
I knew that my day was going to be somewhat busy because I had a doctor's appointment in Aiken SC at 11 a.m., and I knew I would do a return trip to Sam's Club before heading home.
I made a hasty appointment before leaving the house to get a haircut in the afternoon. Happily, my barber could work me in at 2:30.
-
I know that sounds rather mundane, but I have left something out.
Thursday evening, I was slated to join my cousin Butch and his fiancee Sharon at the club for an Eyetalian supper that would be followed by a play performed by Edgefield's Main Street Players.
-
None of us knew what the play was about but as it was being performed in the main dining room of the club, I figured it would be skit-like and last 40 minutes or so.
And for this part of South Carolina, it was something different from sitting home and watching TV. Vastly different!
-
At 6 p.m., we met at the club. We claimed our table and went through the buffet line. The Eyetalian fare was spaghetti bolognese and lasagna.. There was also freshly ground parmesan, galice toast, and a quite nice salad with three different dressings (ranch, bleu cheese and a balsamic/olive oil).
I did not take a head count, but the room had about 50 people. The food was good, the ambience cheerful, and exactly at 7 p.m. the entertainment began.
-
The co-directors, both local women with whom I am acquainted, addressed us.
One informed us that the presentation would be like "reader's theater". In other words, while the actors did know their lines, they would be reading from scripts as well.
And, the show would last two hours, with intermission.
Oh.
My.
God.
-
The theme of the play was about four guys playing golf the day after their 15th college class reunion.
Because of the age of the actors, however, we were informed -- wink, wink, nudge, nudge -- it would seem like their 45th reunion. (Ha!-Ha! Tee-Hee! Giggle-giggle and itchy-kitschy-coo!)
If I haven't correctly expressed my state of mind as the play got underway, I apologize.
Two hours seemed interminable before the first word was uttered.
-
The play is called "The Foursome" and was written by Norm Foster. Play licensed from the Dramatists Play Service.
-
One by one, the actors made their way through the tables and chairs where we were all sitting. One side of the dining room was bare except for a bench and four music stands which held each man's script.
Each had a golf bag and each was dressed "for golf" in different eras.
A few cherce comments was made by all four about how each was dressed.
-
Each scene was announced by a "girl" with a card that read which Tee they were on.
Act one was Tees 1-9; and Act two was Tees 10-18.
As one of the golfers was drinking beer throughout the play, someone thought the card girl should be drinking also.
As she made her way in between scenes, she was progressively drunker and "naughty".
-
To make a long story shorter, I will say that by the end of the two hours I found I had enjoyed myself.
Not immensely, but enough to appreciate that the four men each had talents that were allowed to shine through some really awkward staging replete with lulls that ruined the pacing of some lively scenes.
Each scene had each man teeing off with a golf club. Only one of them seemed to grasp the idea of addressing a ball with stance and swing. The other three were woefully inept as golfers who regularly play.
-
What I got from the play was that someone (Norm Foster) with a keen sense of golfing humor used this device to reveal some truths about the friendship of four men who hadn't seen each other in 15 years. It had sass, it had vulgarity (toned way down for all the elderly among us), and each actor had "a moment" when he addressed the audience on an issue that had arisen about his life since college and how he was living it.
I rather enjoyed the idea behind the play and cannot help imagining it in a more rehearsed and faster-paced presentation. During the play, each man revealed truths that were painful, and they explored the nature of why folks don't stay in touch after having been so close in school,
-
That was my Thursday!!!
And now it is Friday again.
-
Have finished my blueberry muffin (and looking forward to apple fritters in coming days -- Thank you, Sam's Club).
Will resume sipping my coffee before it's too cold.
-
If I wasn't clear, I did enjoy myself last night.
I could use a few more nights out on a monthly basis.
-
Good morning, all.

I can hear Freyja coughing while eating breakfast. We shall see what the day brings. We are all tired. Originally the plan was to have lunch with Jose but I doubt that will happen now. On the upside I didn't expect the nice long walk after breakfast yesterday which was a special treat.
-
It’s never too early to encourage the coughing in the arm, by the way.

Yes that was a nice gif DR GEORGE.

Well I am pleased to report that even with my wrapped arm, I was able to start the new self-propelled mower.
I had decided to mow the back yard. And indeed the time for mowing was cut IN HALF.....31 minutes instead of nearly 62 minutes.
-
DR GEORGE what are your characters' feelings about tech week?
-
Discombobulated. Again.
-
I know this shot has been posted before, but one of DR TCB's friends just posted it to his FB page.
-
I'm home with no health issues so far. The day can change. I will be seeing a gastrointestinal specialist in ten days. As of this moment, the hip replacement is on hold.
-
Sorry, DR elmore3003. I'm glad you got through your errands.
-
That sounds like a new speed record, DR Jrand72. Look out for speed traps.
-
The A/C guy arrived. He was in and out of the apartment. After several hours, there were phone calls and conferences.
-
After that, a second A?C guy appeared, along with the first. The second guy seemed to be more senior.
-
There were more comings and goings and phone calls and conferences.
-
As of this moment, the A/C appears to be fixed.
-
They warned, however, that they would have to come back "at a future date" to completely re-wire everything.
-
While I am certainly grateful for the cool air, this does not inspire confidence.
-
Like, should I have the fire department on speed dial?
-
It is in the 80s here today. The before and after days have been and will be in the high 70s. I could live with it like this for a while.
-
Playing the waiting game with Amazon again. My review for PREVIEW HARVEY has been up there since yesterday morning. I know that's within the "norm", but it's just mystifying - and galling - when reviews can take anywhere from (literally) minutes to several days to appear.
-
Almost time to start packing up the keyboard and everything again. When I bring it all home after tomorrow night's concert, that will be it for a while. I'm really starting to better appreciate the gigs where something is provided and I don't have to schlep.
-
BK: I left the review on the paperback's page, as it was either that or the Kindle or nothing. I'm looking there now, and for the first time, I see (on the search results page): Hardcover - Currently unavailable.

I’m editing a list of terms, and the writer wants to use the abbreviation POS for Point of Service.

Of course, if the point of service system was really awful, you would have a POS POS.

Former DR Jose finally posted the photos! Here's a few.

And this:
-
And this:
-
Today was full of banking mishaps. The rent on my safe deposit box renews next week and I wanted to surrender the box before then as part of my transition to the new bank. I called the new bank the other day. Yes, they had a box available, but a size down from what I preferred. Today I went to the old bank to empty out the box. When I walked in there were only two other customers in the bank, both being helped. I walked up to the unoccupied teller and said I wanted to surrender my box. She asked if I had an appointment. An appointment? No. She said she could book one for Monday. What? I’m here now and there’s only one other customer besides me. (My thought, not my words.) After telling me I’d have to wait, a coworker spoke to her and she was suddenly available. I cannot understand not helping a customer who is standing right in front of you. I emptied, then surrendered the box.
-
I then went to the new bank, only to learn that they didn’t have the size box I needed after all. But they were very nice and were actually helpful. That bank was completely empty of customers.
-
I guess it’s time to find homes for all my jewels and other valuables. I was told that safe deposit boxes are very hard to come by these days. I would add, so is good customer service.
-

It's in our sights.
-
It's just around the riverbend.
-
With one more [look]
-
NINE!
-
I'll be.... MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
-
Norma Desmond, eat your heart out.
-
Vibes to Rodzinski’s father-in-law and coping vibes all around. I’m glad you’re all there to help them through this.
Thank you!!
-
I think that's it for me, folks.
-
Good night, friends.
-
When were those photos with Jane and someone named Jose taken exactly.
-
Love the photos of Jane, Jose and Monkey!
Did Jose move out of New York permanently?
I thought he still lived there.
-
The Tony Awards broadcast, set for June 11, has been cancelled, due to the WGA strike.
-
It’s such a shame, as many shows need that broadcast in order to sell tickets.
Bummer.
-
What a nice photo of DR TCB.
I miss him.
-
DR Ron, I enjoyed reading about your theater experience.
-
Former DR Jose finally posted the photos! Here's a few.
Funny, I thought DR Jrand would be the first to do these.
-
Thank you DR Singdaw for sharing the photos.

Great pictures, Jane! All of them! :D
-
I was very happy to meet Monkey in person.
-
Thank you George.
-
I just took recycling to the basement. I was channeling DR elmore3003.
Do you have little recycling elves down there?
-
DR Ron, I enjoyed reading about your theater experience.
Thank you, Iris!

Another good reason to leave the old bank.

Nice cake!

Oh, no! :-\
-
I guess it’s time to find homes for all my jewels and other valuables. I was told that safe deposit boxes are very hard to come by these days. I would add, so is good customer service.
I was concerned when you didn't say you had paid for the new box before closing the old one.
-
Great pictures of Jane and Jose.
And Monkey!
Thank you.

I enjoyed reading about DR RON PULLIAM's night out at the the theeder.
Thank you, Jack!!
-
When were those photos with Jane and someone named Jose taken exactly.
Yesterday at breakfast.
-
Later on our walk.
-
As I suspected, today was just another Friday.
At one point I napped. Upon awakening I had one of those "moments" when time and place eluded me. Since I was wearing sloppy clothing, I realized I hadn't planned on going out or anything.
-
Will be having Mother's Day luncheon at the club with Butch and Sharon.
A slight deviation from the norm, but one I anticipate.
-
After we returned to Jose's hotel and he brought Monkey down to meet me.
-
Later on our walk.
I had the pleasure of meeting Jose and Monkey many years ago in Oakland. We all had a nice meal together.
He was in town to meet with the music director for "Lestat", the musical version by Elton John that died a rather predictable death shortly after it opened on Broadway.

I thought he still lived there.
He has been working a show in Milwaukee., and the reason I came now before he leaves near the end of the month.
-
:)

Nice cake!
It is.
-
I hope his crossed fingers project comes to fruition.

Lucky you.

Big time. I got to hear about it.
-
DR Rodzinski, Bryan and his wife were very interested in learning about your town in Washington :) ;D

Jose came to Washington state and Tom and I were able to spend a day with him.
-
Photos were taken, especially of Monkey around around the area.

I believe I was still in Ashland.

Cute.
-
None are in my phone, though, so I can't post any until I get home.
-

It’s a conversation piece to be sure.
-
Jose ended up playing some keyboards for Lestat on Broadway, which I saw. Though Jose was, if memory serves, not in the pit or the Palace, or even the same building. Some musicians were elsewhere following along via video feed.
-
DR John G., have you ever made harira (Moroccan lentil and chickpea soup)?
No. But I would in an instant. Sounds great.
-
Here's "Children and Art" with a stand-in painting:
-
We're running the whole show...off book! But, we can call for lines. :)
-
Line!
-
Great photos, Jane. All three of you look very happy.
-
Line!
-
I liked that TCB photo that DR singdaw posted....
And thanks also for the rehearsal photos....it's was almost exactly like that.
-
Safe Deposit Box vibes for DR JEANNE. I guess she will just have to wear all of her jewelry until the new box is available.
-
Glad to hear that DR ELMORE's day went well.
-
I was not on Facebook this afternoon DR JANE or I may have found the photos first.....just lazy I guess.
-
Watching a hockey playoff game....it is about what one might expect.
-
Billy Porter was great, but there were fewer than 600 people. Part rock concert, part gospel revival, part disco, part Broadway. Lot of parts. Lots of fashion. He did a Kinky Boots section. His tribute to Whitney Houston was a roof-raising version of Home from The Wiz. That song always makes me cry. Tonight was no exception.
-
I broiled some strip steaks today and made some of DR VIXMOM's famous Air Fryer potatoes to go with them.
Most excellent.
-
Sounds like a fun show DR JOHN G.
-
Page 11.
-
I have been massaging my arm and wrist and there is much less pain....so I guess it will be fine by Monday.
-
We first did shows in the barn theeder [after two seasons on an outdoor stage] in 1983.....so I decided to make this our 40th Season In The Barn Celebration.....although by count it is 41....
I finished making the slides for the lobby television and got them in order, so I will make the slideshow tomorrow and add music.
I am about two weeks ahead!
-
I have lots of GREASE rehearsal photos - so once Linda takes the official production photos, I can make a slideshow to run in the lobby during the intermission/preshow of that show.
-
Watching a hockey playoff game....it is about what one might expect.
My Devils sadly bowed out last night :(
-
Elvis and Priscilla finished tearing all the seeds off their treat stick. They don't eat much of them. They just drop them to the floor of the cage along with their Cranberries.....
They will get a new treat stick on Sunday - so we will see what they do tomorrow with one of their jobs missing.
-
I saw that DR RODZINSKI.
I don't have a dog in the fight, but I wouldn't mind Florida or Vegas taking the Cup....
-
Time for bed.............................................. .....
-
Ohhh.....continued visiting vibes for DR JANE.....and congrats to MR BK on the miracle!
Continued Miracle Vibes.
-
I forgot this childhood favorite sandwich yesterday.

Good night, all.

None are in my phone, though, so I can't post any until I get home.
I look forward to seeing them.

Definitely, and fun.

Thank you.
-
I don't feel like fixing that last post.
-
I'm posting on my little phone which is always a challenge.
-
I am sitting on the floor next to Freyja waiting for her to fall back asleep.
-
Poor parents finally got a night out to see a movie not for children and the kid wakes up crying.
-
I made the mistake of not bringing my phone up with me and they noticed on the monitor something was wrong. Of course ghey tried texting me. I don't speak 3 year old anymore 😆
-
She didn't ask for them which made me feel good.
-
All is calm but now I am wide awake
-
I will read awhile and hopefully fall asleep.
-
'night
-
I forgot this childhood favorite sandwich yesterday.

Olives = :P
-
Olive oil = ❤️
-
;D
-
And now that we're so close...
-
Oh, look! It's Page Twelve!!
-
Tomorrow, we're having a sitzprobe for SitPwG!
-
It's been more than 20 years since I've been in a show that had an actual orchestral orchestra!
-
Not that there's anything wrong with that. ::)
-
I can't wait! :D
-
So here are the pictures that I have of Jose's visit to the PNW in 2012.
-
First, Jose, TCB and I at the Snoqualmie Casino:
-
And here we are, but backlit:
-
And here's Jose and Monkey:
-
And the two of them, again:
-
And here's the first of two with MBarnum:
-
And the other one that I have of Jose and MBarnum:
-
Page twelve is fun.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
They are spirited.
-
As you'll see when you've read them.
-
Is George down a rabbit hole or reading a book.
-
One does wonder which.
