Well, you've read the notes, the notes told the tale, and now it is time for you to post until the tale-telling cows come home.

And now - Dino at the piano.

Last week I was at DQ with the kids, and I took note of a big concrete post behind where I had parked and told myself to be sure not to back into it when we left. Fast forward to us leaving and I’m focused on that post, and my parking assistance is beeping and I’m like, don’t worry, parking assistance, I’ve got my eye on that nasty old post. Fear not! And then I ever-so-gently back into a parked car I didn’t see at all. A lovely green convertible with two older folks in it. I step out and apologize. We assess the damage, of which I see none. But the old guy thinks he sees a little dent. We compare to the other side of the car, and he realized it was just the normal contour of his car’s body, no dent or scratch. A miracle with today’s cars. So he says, I guess we’re fine, and I walk away. Then I notice he has a Washington plate, and I say, “Hey, do you live on the Point?” (local name for our exclave). He says yes, we get to talking and it turns out he and his wife live on my street, four houses away and I’ve seen him and his cute dog many times from afar. We chat for a bit and I say if he changes his mind and sees a scratch, he now knows where to find me! And then I got in the car and drive away feeling rather lucky.

Nice ending to your story, Rodzinski.

This reminds me that 30-some years ago I’m in school in Athens, GA, driving too close behind a co-ed on Baxter Street. She slams the brakes of her CRX at a light. I do the same, but hit her bumper. This time, I def did damage. I get out while she walks back to look. I’ll never forget, she scans the damage and goes, “Hmm. Well, my dad’s just about to buy me a new car, so we don’t have to worry about this.” Gets back in her CRX, and takes off without a care in the world.

Wednesday morning greetings! No morning medical tests for Richard today, but I have a routine checkup with our primary care physician early this afternoon.

Slept too little last night. Dreams were about being on an ad hoc citizens group to protect some children. It was very disorganized and ineffective.

And greetings from the car place.

Here are more thanks to vixmom for a scintillating peek - with photographic evidence - into her whirlwind lifestyle!

Well, that was a fast summer. This morning it was in the 40s when I got up, and there are frost warnings for tonight and tomorrow night.

Well, I was cleaning the litterbox when the health crises returned. Luckily, I was already in the bathroom . . .l as soon as I cleaned up myself and finished the litter, I immediately called AAR to cancel today's trips and then called my HMO to reschedule today's appontments. I am now going to lie down until the cramps cease.

Happy Wednesday, all.
I hope it's Wednesday where you all are because it's Wednesday here in SC.
It looks to be another beautiful day in Johnston. We are experiencing temps in the high 80s during the days, but still get down into the 60s at night.
In the summer, the differences are usually no more than 10 degrees...sometimes less.
-
Vibes for Elmore, has there been a change to your meds or meals?
-
Everyone seems to be doing such interesting things these days.
The most interesting thing that has happened to me since last Thursday's play experience was the Mother's Day lunch at the club.
It was a great lunch, featuring all the same menu items, but some prepared differently. There was beef, fried/baked chicken and chicken strips for meats. We had green beans, lima beans, corn, sweet potatoes and macaroni-and-cheese. It was a buffet line and we told servers what we wanted. I had veggies and a piece of fried chicken.
Dessert was a slim slice of pecan pie.
Sitting directly behind me was a local celebrity: Jane Jenkins Herlong, a former Miss South Carolina in 1979 and now a published author and motivational speaker. She and her husband Thomas are "acquaintances" (i.e. I have met them both) and they live on a peach farm in Edgefield. She was raised on a tomato farm and had many rural experiences that add to her natural wit and charms.
That's all I know about her other than my mom had a book she wrote called "Rhinestones on My Flip-Flops".
I truly live an extraordinary non-life, do I not!!
-
It is time to get a cup of coffee and begin my day.
I am up much earlier than usual because of my "phantom" doorbell.
Actually, I have three doorbells, and I am not sure which one it is I hear. I think it must be an electrical issue in that I occasionally hear the doorbell ring one time.
I think I've heard it during the day when I am awake, but don't really recall. Most often, I am either in bed or napping when awakened by the bell. It only rings once.
This morning, I could not go back to sleep, so here I am.
-
One last thought on the doorbell:
Until I moved into this house, I had never had a doorbell awaken me unless there was someone there to ring it.
What I hope to accomplish with this thought is to rule out a psychosomatic symptom.
Then again, it may be a ghost.
-
I will leave you (promise) with one last morning thought:
Yesterday, in a local FB group I belong to, a person asked if anyone would give her advice on dealing with life.
I suggested: Never seek advice from strangers on Facebook.
For some odd reason, the post, which had quite a lot of responses, disappeared completely.

Finally, one (1) more musical thing for me this evening: the second round of auditions for Pippin... after which I am DONE. For, like, almost two weeks. Which is pretty well DONE in my book.

I was maybe 19 when I backed into a car in the parking lot. I only tapped it, still I wasn't sure what to do. While trying to determine if I did any damage to the other car, the parking lot attendant walked up and inspected the car with me. He then looked at me and said no way did I put all those dents into the car, said don't worry about it and go ahead and leave. I thanked him and left.

Got a reply from the Amazon seller - severe weather delays, apologies, and keep the item. That was nice but - what item? Maybe it'll show up someday. Then they say "they've" refunded me, but that's not accurate - Amazon refunded me. But I'll amend the feedback I left them to reflect they got back to me.

Well that's irritating!

As I drifted in and out of sleep, I kept thinking, why are these commercial writers hired when they have absolutely no grasp of grammar? The one that set me off was a commercial in which a woman had a line like "for my husband and I."

Number means very little, either, including to newscasters.

And while we are in that ball park:
I have a pet peeve -- and I guess folks think it's silly for me to have it. The word "mischievous" has THREE syllables. Not FOUR. THREE.
Yet, time and again I hear it pronounced with four when folks add an "i" between the "v" and "o" and change the pronunciation from
MISS-chuh-vuss to Miss-CHEE-vee-us.
It is not an an alternative pronunciation. It's a regionalism
And it gets my goat every time I hear it.

I have never experienced a phantom doorbell ring. If that ever happens I now know what to do.

DR Ron you could also replace your doorbell with a video doorbell that records movement at your front door.

Poor sleepy Jane. I wish a quick recovery to you. It may indeed be pollen-inflicted, as I've heard that is quite heavy this year.
-
Or you got what the kid had. Kids these days are sick like, all the time.
-
There's a tab on the Firefox home page "What the heck is Crab Rangoon Anyway?"
Kind of not a new thing. Any Crab Rangoon fans here on HHW?
I like it but never order it anymore as it's a bit rich.

It was lower than I expected yesterday. I should look again.
-
Because I do not enjoy driving, the test is actually easier than my driving to Portland ;D
-
I just have to have it done on Friday or my doctor will cancel my appointment on Tuesday. Insurance wouldn't cover the test before Friday.
-
I am going to make the doctor's appointment a few days later next year to allow a bit of leeway with this test.
-

Yup, and this one seems to be fine until they have company, or plan to go away-lol
-
I checked the pollen count and it is moderate which is enough to bother me.
-
'night
-
I haven't ordered Chinese takeout in a long while, but it used to be that they were throwing free crab rangoon into most of my orders back in the day. I always found them a bit rich.
-
EIGHT.
-
With six you get eggroll.
-
With twelve you get crab rangoon.
-
Not to be confused with Count Carl-Magnus Malcolm.
-
He is a dragoon.
-
Can a dragoon be a buffoon?
-
What a maroon.
-
As Bugs would say.
-
Would a maroon wear maroon?
-
What about a moron in maroon?
-
These are the things I ponder.
-
I don’t care for crab rangoon because they aren’t rich enough. They’re kinda stingy here with the cream cheese filling.
-
The pain hasn’t gone away. I took two Advil. Nothing.
-
That stinks, DR John G.
-
And it kind of impacts your quality of life.
-
Boo!
-
I do not care for
page seven pain.
-
Perhaps, a tarantella.
-
Or the electric slide.
-
Good night, friends.

Watching The Good Fairy with Margaret Sullavan and Herbert Marshall.

It was the basis of Make a Wish, one of my favorite scores.
-
I’m able to lie flat on the floor in order to be slightly more comfortable.
-
Well there you are.
-
Health wishes for DR ELMORE, DR JANE, DR GINNY & DH RICHARD, DR JOHN G....
No more phantom door bell chimes for DR RON PULLIAM.
No more messages from ungrateful folks to MR BK.
-
I thought I could write some posts, but I am fading fast.
-
I'm looking forward to the Audition Repor from DR CHAS SMITH.
-
The eulogy went well....I did have to hold my papers because the podium was a bit low to read with or without my glasses....
The signing of the song was a big success - I had to do most of the signing and at about shoulder level instead of chest level so everyone could see.
There were very few dry eyes left in the house....and many nice comments from the family followed.
-
AND since I was also giving a few remarks at the skull orchard, I bummed a ride from the lady who runs the place.
It was my first time riding in the front seat of a hearse.
It was most interesting.
-
Page Nine.
And Act One seems like a picnic now that we are into Act Two....whew!
-
I shall now hit the hay and hope it doesn't hit back.
-
Sweet movie. Margaret Sullavan was wonderful.
-
Good night, JRand.
-
Good night, all.

Love that movie. She’s so cute in that.

The governor of Florida has signed a bill that will enable the state to take minors away from their parents if they receive gender-affirming care.
I can't even.
That fucker. >:(
-
I don't know if I have allergies or the beginning of a cold. If I don't get worse I can still have my medical test on Friday.
~~~Stay Well Vibes for Jane!!~~~
That sounds very nice, Jrand.
Tonight's rehearsal was in parts.
-
I picked up and drove the woman playing Nurse/Mrs./Blair Daniels (the Old Lady in the first act is playing Harriet Pawling in the second).
-
“Skull orchard” lol
Kind of you.
-
Nurse's call was for 6:30, but the Mr. & Mrs. scene wasn't happening until 8:05.
Thanks. There are several reasons that I'm driving her: she only lives about five minutes away from me; the transmission on her car is going out; and she has some problem walking, so she'll be using a cane in the show.
-
And, of course, so you have further time to discuss both your characters’ backstories.
-
Pain reduction vibes for John G!
-
If not complete pain elimination!
-
And, of course, so you have further time to discuss both your characters’ backstories.
Exactly! :))
-
Anyway, we got there and I dropped her off at about 6:20, then I went back to my car and read some more of Preview Harvey. :)
-
Then, I went into rehearsal at my appointed call time and instead of working the Mr. and Mrs. scenes, the director felt that it was more important to work "Putting it Together" and "Sunday," the act one finale version...which was fine.
-
We all did need the work and it was quite helpful.
TENTH PAGE!
-
Page ten. Barely.
-
Barely page ten and George is down some damn rabbit hole that I can assure you is NOT finishing a hat or book.
-
That is just wrong.
-
I'll go write some notes and hopefully this dastardly situation will be alleviated.
-
Only fourteen posts from a nice new number.
