Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Pakula and Palooka, and now it is time for you to post until the big palooka cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EMBRACE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Welcome 139 GUESTS!
-
C'mon in, the water's fine.
-
Somebody screwed up the meta data on Prime Time Musicals or maybe they screwed up the order on the packaging but two tracks got reversed. My lists were always correct.
-
That's so sad about Kay Cole's ever-lovin’ Michael Lamont. My condolences to her and their family. :(
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Condolences to Kay Cole and family.
-
Notes deconstructed. Pakula’d.
-
Just heard Debbie Gravitte singing Hamlet - I have not heard this track for over twenty years and it is something else. a) it's a prime example of what I like to do when arranging a song. The chart (can't remember who did this one but would guess Lanny Meyers) is amazing and Debbie's vocal is definitive - sorry Betty Hutton. But it's the jokes - I kept throwing in jokes during the session and she did them brilliantly - "Anybody here got a Danish?" and the final "To be or not to be!" Wel, here or hear: https://youtu.be/_iTtjK7g-SM
-
One thing the documentary could teach me is how to pronounce “Pakula.” I have a pronunciation in my mind but that’s how underrated he was, in a way. I don’t know if I’ve ever heard his name out loud.
-
The guy also had one of the most terrifying deaths, I think about it every time I’m driving behind a truck loaded with pipes or beams or whatever.
-
Puh-koo-la.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It seemed a long, long night, although I did not sleep badly, just not as well as I would like. I always do that before a morning appointment; I get too caught up in the minutiae: will the car be on time? do I really want to go out? what do I need to accomplish before I step out?
-
So, this morning I see my urologist; I believe this will be my second to last visit for the prostate cancer.

Not enough sleep. The pain woke me up once and I couldn’t get back to sleep.

My condolences to Kay Cole and to all who love Michael Lamont

Other than Robin Curtis ( Savek in The third Trek movie) I had no idea who anyone was as all the celebrity guests were from later shows I never saw.

But the weekend ( for me) was really about spending time with friends, and in that it was quite successful

Puh-koo-la.
Oddly, Scott Bakula pronounces his last name as BACK-yoo-la.
-
Has anyone ever seek Pakula, Bakula, or Dracula in the same room at the same time?

But the weekend
Which one? There are several you haven't told us about yet. ;)
-
Good morning, all.
-
Has anyone ever seek Pakula, Bakula, or Dracula in the same room at the same time?
Not to mention this guy:
-
I actually think "Blacula" first when I think of Scott Bakula's name, and have to be careful if I'm saying it.
-
BK said:
Love Diana and she loves working with young people as much as I do. I remind, she did the audio book of GEE, one of only two audio books I've done for my books. There was actually a third but the guy I hired to do it was not a tech person so when he made mistakes he'd click a clicker and say it again - well, when I heard it I wasn't about to give that to an engineer to edit - there were hundreds upon hundreds of these clicks. The sad part is that two other actors played the female roles in that book - Thrill Ride - and the old lady was played by - Cindy Williams - and she was wonderful. But the audio files sit like so much fish and that's that.
I was going to tell her I loved her reading of GEE, and the moment got away. But I did go looking for my "copy" of it yesterday, and here's my stupid-ass question:
Amazon tells me it's in my "library", but apparently that "library" is on their site, and not a place where I was able to put a download. Is that correct? Is the Amazon "Audible" page for GEE the only way I can go back to that reading? It plays from there right now, but there's no other way?
-
And another question for BK:
What was the other audio book? And why am I completely blank on that?
And: Oh, what a sadness (now I sound like David Lynch) that THRILL RIDE was completed but has the humongous editing issue. And now it's stored in the warehouse with the Ark of the Covenant? With a wonderful reading by Cindy Williams? Damn it to HELL.

Happy to read about DR CHAS SMITH's adventure and meeting yesterday.
-
My Kindle Oasis plays audiobooks, but I don't know much about Audible.
-
I think Prime Time Musicals was the first BK Produced Cd that I ever purchased.
But since I liked it so much, I started looking for them....and got a couple of Lost In Boston CDs and Drat The Cat!
-
Then there was the Superman music CD, the Godzilla music CD, and the Titanic music CD which was favorite!

My Kindle Oasis plays audiobooks, but I don't know much about Audible.
I don't think I have the Audible app - if that's the thing I occasionally see listed, and I'm tempted to go for it until the reality of the subscription price kicks in.
I've checked my Kindle app, and it's not in there. Also checked my Amazon Music library which has some 35 albums in it, but no audio book. Of course the first place I looked was the hard drive where I store everything I've downloaded. (And that gets backed up to Time Machine.) Nothing there.
I do remember that when BK said the audio recording was available, I went for it immediately because I wanted to hear how she read it, and I listened straight through it. But I must have been online (on Amazon) doing so, and apparently didn't give it a thought - because all I wanted to do was hear it and I wasn't thinking about how I would keep it.

Not very close. Redmond is just east of Seattle and I'm about an hour south. That's too far away to affect each other's productions...positively or negatively.

Oh gosh I am behind on my story telling
I think I left off after the Thursday adventures.
-
That was the night we saw Grey House, which i like more and more as I think.about it .
I may go see it again
-
.on Friday the 12th we slept in, not getting up until nearly 10
-
By time we got ready and moseyed to the little tiny diner around the corner it waa 11
-
There we had a tasty breakfast and decided to take a ride on the Staten Island Ferry
-
We were able to get spots at the rail on the statue side and it was a beautiful hot day, perfect for a boat ride
-
And I am home! I really like Dr Glickman, my urologist. His wife, besides being a doctor, is involved with animal rescue, and his family has several cats so we talked about our cats. Then I went to Staples and scanned five pieces for the ballet. Stella wants to cuddle, so we'll do that now.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost eight hours of sleep.

Of course, a snippy text this morning, but I shan't respond at this time.

ChasSmith - it isn't automatic with audio books but there are ways to convert to mp3 for your library - apparently easiest if you have the Audible app, but Google it and you'll see options.
-
ChasSmith the other audio book was Murder at the Magic Castle.
-
I wonder if there’s an audio software that could make quicker work of that reader’s click-filled book reading. Old linear video editing software used to allow you to zip between the clicks, delete the takes you didn’t like, etc.
-
ChasSmith the other audio book was Murder at the Magic Castle.
Ah! Yes, and looking at it on Amazon I totally remember it, and listening to it.
-
And of course it is also in my "library".
-
Was gonna go get bagels for tuna sandwiches, but I got a Postmates 55% off deal, so ordered the tri-salad from Art's, which I haven't had in months. about eight bucks cheaper than actually going there and having it. Good deal and I love it AND save on gas.I get two more orders like that if I want to use them.
-
The guy also had one of the most terrifying deaths, I think about it every time I’m driving behind a truck loaded with pipes or beams or whatever.
I just looked him up. Oh, my goodness! That would definitely be a terrible way to die! :o
I also looked him up. I do my best to avoid trucks like that, as well as car transport trucks.
-
The Hamlet chart wasn't Lanny - Steve Orich did it and it was really good.
-
I thought I was a bit silly avoiding transport trucks until I read about a car sliding of the back and causing a bad accident.
-
The new car has an "econo" mode, and we're finding that we're getting over 150 miles more on a tank fill than we did with the old car. Pretty great.
-
When you're stopped with your foot on the break, the car goes "silent," like it's turned off. That takes a little getting used to.

Interesting. Someone I know has talked about that feature and she said it took a long time for her to get used to that. :-\

But adding 150 miles per tank would definitely be worth it!

Well, this is interesting. While going through vids on YouTube, one of the Up Next videos was from Christo Aivalis (from Canada), but the thumbnail image was the rectangle with the rounded corners and three dots in the center. I clicked on it, and nothing was there, which I think is because the title of the video was "Тrumр ЅНОТ ВΥ GUΝМАΝ Wіth АЅЅАULТ RІFLЕ, СRІТІСАL..."

You mean YouTube finally did something about his BS? I was forwarding every click-bait lying headline to them, some as blatant as the one you posted above. After having fun with him, putting him down in every way possible, I told him I was bored and haven't been back since. And I told YouTube to never show me that channel again.

Is there gaslighting going on?
-
Gaslighting 101.
-
See?
-
As BK alluded to in the notes, it is always disappointing when a bad interviewer gets access to a good subject. I was watching an infamous Jerry Lewis interview where he is extremely peevish and short with an interviewer. Jerry was a renowned ass, it’s true. But when you hear the guy’s questions you end up sympathetic to Jerry.
“So, what was it like working with Dean Martin, can you share, like, some stories?”
-
Yeesh.
-
Finished The Navigator. Buster at his best. The sight gags were wonderful.
-
I'm afraid I can't go the distance.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Now watching Cruising, which I haven’t seen in ages. Sordid. But what’s surprising is how many name actors are in small roles, like Ed O’Neill and Powers Booth
-
Hercules went the distance.
-
I'm going the distance.
-
I've seen that Jerry interview - the interviewer was a complete fool. Jerry usually gave great interviews when the interviewer asked good questions. He was very open.
-
Back to Klute.
-
After which I'll play the flute which you'll want to mute but I'll be resolute.
-
Isn't that cute?

Don't be a brute or I'll give you the boot.
-
And won't THAT be astute?
-
I also play the lute.
-
And that's the trut.
-
Give me a horn and I'll toot.
-
And then say that the point is moot.
-
Give a hoot!
-
And then I'll have salmon en croute.
-
Don't mess with me or I'll shoot.
-
Is anybody named Klute anymore?
-
Perhaps I'll have some fruit.
-
Won't that be a hoot.

Maybe I should try a different route?
-
Or say woot-woot.
-
I've seen that Jerry interview - the interviewer was a complete fool. Jerry usually gave great interviews when the interviewer asked good questions. He was very open.
Just watched a bit of it and it’s worse than I even described. Dude’s first question: “Have you ever thought of retiring?”
-
Or wear by suit called Zoot.
-
Jerry: “Why?”
-
Now now, don't be a brute.

I do not care for page seven.

I literally just got home!
-
And remember the problem that I had with the dashboard lights in my not-even-one-year-old car?
-
They all (almost) came on just as I was arriving home!
-
:o
-
Not only did the Check Engine light come on (which I don't remember coming on before), most importantly, the AT OIL TEMP light came on!
-
Here's what it looked like:
-
The two lights near the zero on the speed dial are indicators of the Eye Sight, which is the adaptive cruise control.
-
I'm here. And get me off this damn page.
-
I don't know from cruise control unless it's about Tom Cruise being controlling.
-
And then on the far right was something that looks like an incline, but I don't know what that indicates.
-
Which I'm sure he is.
-
I don't know what an incline is doing in a motor car.
-
Certainly we're on an incline trying to get to page ten.
-
And we're not that close.
-
Not really.
-
I'll call in the morning and HOPEFULLY, they can look at it tomorrow.
-
Four minutes.
-
Listening to musique.
-
A new French film score from France from my favorite film composer from France.
-
I'm looking forward to the film it's from - Mon Crime, the latest from Francois Ozon.
-
The last time I brought it in, the Eye Sight lights came on, but not the AT OIL TEMP light, which is the one that indicates a real problem.
-
And?
-
Not really.
-
I have no idea.
-
New motor cars should not have problems.
-
What?
-
Did someone say something?
-
I thought I heard something.
-
It must have been page ten.
-
We made it that far.
-
Barely.
-
Bearly.

When?

Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.

I've read them.

I wrote them.
-
New motor cars should not have problems.
Exactly!! And since it's a computer problem, the error message has to be in "active mode" for them to diagnose and fix the issue. That information is deleted out of the car's memory after a few times that it's turned off and on, which really seems like a design/programming flaw. :P
-
George just sits there like so much fish.
-
All right.
-
I've tried my best.

Which is all one can do.

I think I'll shave before going to bed.

Why not?

Not yet...I'm in show mode, and we open THIS Friday, so it's hard to think about anything else.

I haven't shaved in five days.

And yet you must thing of something else.

One simply must.

Don't ask me.
