Well, you've read the notes, the notes were memorialized, and now it is time for you to post until the memorialized cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SACROSANCT!
-
Notes tasted. Esteemed.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
This may come in handy today for some.
-
Hugs, DR Rodzinski. Such an upheaval, logistically and emotionally.
-
Watched and enjoyed the Mary Tyler Moore documentary.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Much as I love my cats, there are some days I wish I could still sleep in as long as I liked.
-
I had lots of dreams and I now remember none of them.
-
I'm hoping I can get a huge chunk of No. 18 finished today.
-
Love Lesley Ann Warren in Victor/Victoria!!!!!
-
Good morning, all.
-
I must vacuum before I ca get to work. The floor has been littered with too much kibble and kitty treats.
-
Good morning
-
DR singdaw, nothing on that table looks barbecued.
-
I enjoyed all of DR GEORGE's photos yesterday. And the key chains.
-
Glad that MR BK will be able to enjoy the opera.
I remember seeing a documentary about Emile Griffith that told the story. Very sad. The opera indeed looks interesting.
-
Today I shall work on my lines and see how it goes.
We are having great weather....77 degrees is a bit warm, but it's not intolerable.
-
No mail today.....on purpose.
-
No rehearsal which is VERY NICE.
-
Good morning, all.
-
TOD - FAVORITE film.....
Julie Andrews - The Sound of Music
James Garner - The Thrill of It All
Blake Edwards - This Happy Feeling
-
I’m pecking this out on the phone, so can’t post much till I’m back on something of a decent size.
-
I recently watched 10 for the first time in years, and I’m taking Victor/Victoria out for watching soon.
-
I’m lazy today and it feels nice.
-
I finished The Woman and The Dale documentary last night. I ended up sort of liking it....but the subject was a grifter and a scammer and elevating her to the level of a trans woman heroine is a bit of a stretch.
-
TOD:
Just about anything with either Andrews or Garner.
Edwards:
Victor/Victoria
10
The Great Race
Days of Wine and Roses
Breakfast at Tiffany’s
The Pink Panther
-
I’ve got to motivate myself to get the lawnmower out and go around the house with it. It’s overdue and must be done anyway, but it’ll also make the jernt smell great for the rest of the day.
-
DR George:
If it has not already been copyrighted as a title for something, you truly ought to at least reserve the rights to the title:
"It's Not Sondheim"
When I read your answer to Rodzinski's question about the Pachanga, I laughed out loud and thought, "YES, of course!"
-
Good morning, one and all.
-
I slept in this morning...as I think many of us did given that we are just on page 2 at 10 a.m. EDT.
Yesterday morning, we were on page 4 at this time.
-
Sounds like Chas had a wonderful barbecue
-
Good morning!
-
Wordle: 3/6
-
I also saw the MTM documentary and enjoyed it.
-
Vibes for DH Keith.
-
TOD:
Edwards: "Victor, Victoria", "The Pink Panther", "S.O.B.", "Experiment in Terror", "Wild Rovers" and "Breakfast at Tiffany's".
Andrews: "Mary Poppins", "The Sound of Music", "The Americanization of Emily", "Thoroughly Modern Millie", "Hawaii", "Star!" and "Torn Curtain". (Her performances were all enjoyable though some of the films weren't totally great).
Garner: "The Great Escape", "The Castaway Cowboy", "The Americanization of Emily", "Victor, Victoria", "36 Hours" and "Move Over, Darling".
-
Starting the day with Love & Friendship, Whit Stillman’s film of Jane Austen’s Lady Susan. I haven’t seen this since it was in the theaters.
-
Warm thoughts for Mrs. Rodzinski today as she moves her parents into assisted living.
The roughest part of growing older is caring for those who brought us into this world and raised us. Caring isn't the hard part, because it is the caring that matters most of all.
The hardest part is often borne by the parents or other elderly relatives who must give up their "home" and independence.
I fully expected to spend years with my mom when I retired and moved back to South Carolina. I never imagined or foresaw that I might be settling her estate at the one-year marker of my return.
It's heartbreaking when you know you are doing what is best for them but entrusting them to someone else's care.
I wish only the best for you, buddy!
-
Sending vibes to the Rodzinskis
-
When my Alberta dwelling in-laws needed assisted living my SIL was able to find a place that provided them a little apartment with a living room, bedroom and private bath
-
They seemed to be pretty happy there
-
I hope Rodzinski’s in-laws are happy in their new home
-
Excellent pictures from George yesterday
-
We’ve had breakfast, just toasted onion bagels, sausages and tea this morning

None of us were adventurous enough to try any of the exotic meats but the beef burgers were delicious
-

The exotics don’t seem all that exotic to me. I’ve had all before. Lamb burgers are probably my favorite. They’re fairly common here.
-
Whit Stillman packed an amazing amount into 93 minutes of running time. What a hoot!
-
Is there a reason Singdaw hasn’t swept us to page 3 yet?
-
Other than the fact that he’s not here?
-
Facts, schmacts.
-
We don’t need no stinkin’ facts.

We do need two posts.

Chores done. Not that I'm exactly proud of what I've accomplished. But it is a holiday, after all.
-
I got most of the yard around the house mowed. There are things that must be reconfigured and dealt with by hand, which will happen another day.
Then I unkinked the string in the trimmer (weed whacker), filled its tank, and...
(wait for it)
It wouldn't start.
No matter what I did.
-
So I explained to the neighbors in all of the surrounding households exactly what was going on with my many attempts to start it, in an oration that I hope would have made vixdad proud -- if only my voice were able to carry across the Sound.
-
So, well, the hell with that.
The HELL with it, I tell you.
The rest of the day shall be for leisure.
-
I hauled out the suitcase. Need to think about packing.
-
Not actually pack, mind you. Just thinking about it.
-
From DR George:
I couldn't find where I'd posted this before, but here are Mr. and Mrs. again:
Very nice!
-
George, I like the keychains from your sister. Would you use the handy one for all the gadgets on it?
-
From DR Rodzinski:
Thank you. Their new place is quite nice, I’m told. I’ll see it tomorrow.
I hope you agree. I hadn't realized you have never been there. Did your in-laws go with your wife to tour it?
-
Really George, no photos of your donuts! It is Voodoo after all ;)
-
I have had my coffee and two cheddar cheese and egg biscuits. Yum.
While it's lunchtime, I consider myself as having had brunch.
-
Vibes the family of DR Rodzinski has a good day!
-
I do hope Rupert can be in future episodes of Sami.
-
Last night I began reading Murder Your Employer: The McMasters Guide to Homicide by Rupert Holmes.
-
So far it is, as expect, clever and funny. I particularly liked the reference to "involuntary suicide".
-
I had a rather strange-ish dream overnight.
While it's a bit wispy, I was pushing a loaded-down basket toward an elevator. The door had just closed as I got to it. I pushed the up button.
Several people suddenly appeared and wanted to go up as well. When a different elevator opened, I had no room for me and the basket, so I waited for a returned elevator.
When a third elevator door opened, I got in and looked for my floor number, but there wasn't one there. I wanted the second floor, but it seems that elevator was an express only to the 12th floor.
I couldn't stop it, and when I reached the top, it wouldn't go back down. So, I got out with the basket and waited for a different elevator. When I got on and started down, I realized I didn't have the basket with me.
I returned to the top floor and the basket was nowhere to be found.
I then woke up in a sweat.
-
I do not like those kinds of dreams.
-
I wouldn’t either, Ron.

It was sad and shocking watching from afar. I imagine it gave your mother great comfort having you settled with her in your home. As a long distance child, it would have been hell had you still been in California.
-

LOL
-
I am busy packing my toiletry bag, including my medications, for a month. I figure it will be easier than restocking every time we come home, plus it is best to pack extra in case we don't come home in-between the procedures.
-
What I need is for my missing thyroid medication to arrive. I only have 10 days left, which means I will run out before we return home. I do not want to deal with the side effects of my thyroid being off.
-
Of course I can always ask a doctor to order a few to tide me over.
-
The downside of FB, making friends and then loosing them :(
-
We have a friend we met online long before Facebook as she had a Bernese Mt. Dog. Through her on FB I became friends with her father, and then her uncle. She is in the process of moving back to the states from England. Sadly, her father just quietly passed away. I know she is already feeling the guilt of not being home for him.
-
I only mentioned this story as it seems to fit the discussion today.
-
I enjoyed all of DR GEORGE's photos yesterday. And the key chains.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I just did a brave thing. I cleared off my DVR to prepare for the "upgrade" to the current model that I'll have to exchange it for in a couple of days.
I had dreaded this since they announced its coming demise several weeks ago, but it wasn't as difficult as I'd thought, given the mix of things I'd accumulated. It's time to move on, and it will be good to finally have the up-to-date equipment that will work without having to be nursed along every few days. Both of our DVR boxes have been on their last legs for a while, and it took Xfinity pulling the plug on these to make this happen.
The DVR is dead. Long live the DVR.
-
Decided not to go out and ordered two tacos from the Mexican jernt close by that I like.
-
I just couldn't decide on anything that I wanted had I gone out so why go out?
-
Why waste gas and energy?
-
Why indeed?

I am about half through act two in memorizing.
The director of GREASE messaged and said even though I don't have rehearsal tonight, would I mind driving down and being a second set of eyes for her?
Although it is futile....I told her that I would....just to offer my support. So I shall be on my way in a bit.
-
I will have a full report later.
I am hoping it is not as bad as I think it may be.
-
Memorial Day greetings! Richard went to the parade and cemetery ceremonies today then took me to lunch at Izzy’s in the Cincinnati ‘burbs. In the past we’ve gotten take-out from there and had a picnic while listening to our friend Rick play the carillon. Alas, we suspect that concert series has been discontinued.
-
Well, the carillon concerts are scheduled for this years but our friend is not playing them.

If you think a different cast member would be better in another role, tell her and tell her why.
I have been embattled recently in a FB thread on "Grease" and how awful it was that John Travolta not only STOLE Danny from Jeff Conaway but also stole "Greased Lightning" which belonged to the character Konickie.
My feeling is, yes, it's a shame Conaway wasn't the name at the time that Travolta was but that it proved to be the right decision. The movie was a sensation with Travolta and Newton-John and it became the most successful movie musical at that time.
I was then challenged by someone else to provide my film making credentials. He suggested that profits weren't always justified if someone was treated badly in the making of the film.
I told him to look at my FB page as I had looked at his and he would discover I had no more film making credentials than he has, but that I have years on him and probably several hundred moves I've watched more than he has.
I told him I thought Conaway was an adequate actor, may have been terrific on Broadway but didn't really click for me on the silver screen. I hate toxicity on the internet.

I got through my saved cache every six months or so. If there are films or shows there I haven't watched, they get deleted.
It's amazing how quickly things add up before you have the chance to get to them.

Well, I blocked the Facebook person this morning. Then I spent the morning working on ballet No.18. I decided I disliked what I had written and threw it all out. I began a new chart after dinner.

I hope you agree. I hadn't realized you have never been there. Did your in-laws go with your wife to tour it?
Yes they did. Now that I’ve seen it, it’s a lovely place. Everyone was very welcoming. It’s in a nice area of White Rock, pretty close to the Peace Arch US border. Staff was lovely. They are in a temporary room until there’s is ready. It’s like almost a regular apartment except they get escorted to eat three times a day.

Yes, got the news about Milt from Richard Allen, who works at the Castle.
Bruce, do you remember Dave Hutchins? He changed his name to David Avadon and often worked at the Magic Castle. He also did close up hand work for Bill Bixby in The Magician. He was known for his skill at pickpocketing.

Robin Wagner has died. His design of On the 20th Century was perfect.
-
I think his work on Dreamgirls was phenomenal. City of Angels, too.
-
Good night, all.
-
I was invited to The Magic Castle once, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
-
I never knew that Milt Larsen wrote songs with Richard Sherman.
Also had no idea that he owned the Mayfair Music Hall in Santa Monica, right down the street from me in the 80’s.
-
DR John, I send you strong pain-be-gone vibes.
Are you Hawaii bound in a few days?
My daughter has been sending me photos from Athens and Istanbul. They are really enjoying the cruise, and the numerous cats that seem to be everywhere in Greece.
-
Was feeling sad today, so I watched one of my favorite movies, “Charlie Wilson’s War”.
Great film based on a true story, with Aaron Sorkin as screenwriter and Mike Nichols as director, maybe his last film.
Tom Hanks was his usual excellent self, as was Philip Seymour Hoffman.
-
Russia’s invasion of Afghanistan and subsequent loss, makes he hopeful for a repeat in Ukraine.
Deja vu all over again.

Commentary is finished.
-
Watched two movies and am feeling extremely restless.
-
And where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Hopefully, a few will be back shortly so we can get off this damn page.
-
I'm trying to keep the food intake to just the tacos and some gummy things.
-
Certainly, I wouldn't be having anything ordered in and it's too late to go out now.
-
So, I think I'm fine.
-
Fine and dandy.
-
Dandy and fine.
-
I don't think I have anything here like chips or anything to snack on.
-
And don't feel like any more gummy things.
-
We're doing a couple of the Richard and Milt songs in the Kritzerland show, and we're also doing the two we wrote together.
-
That last link didn’t work, so, post deleted.
Will try again.
-
And?
-
Really?
-
I think there's gaslighting going on.
-
See?
-
Now get me off THIS damn page.
-
Welcome 115 GUESTS.
-
Okay.
-
Why not?
-
It could be.
-
I'm not sure.

If I was sure, I'd sure be sure.

Bet they’re humorous.
-
This has been a nothing sort of day. Never left the house.
-
Could leave the house now but to what purpose.
-
The only purpose would be if I saw a porpoise.
-
Robin Wagner also did the great sets for Promises, Promises.
-
He really did.
-
And A Chorus Line. And Ballroom. And Angels in America. And Seesaw.
-
He was one of the greats and an innovator.
-
Glad to hear that some Sherman/Larsen songs will be included in the upcoming Kritzerland show.
-
Where's George? Down some damn rabbit hole?
-
If you haven't reviewed Sami yet, now would be a really good time - Amazon and the imdb.
-
Does today feel like a Monday?
-
I don't think it does.
-
It feels like a Sunday, not a Monday.
-
Tomorrow will feel like a Monday.
-
And yet, it will be a Tuesday.
-
I'm feeling very antsy. I wonder if I'm not the only lyricist who's used antsy in a song and rhymed it to boot.
-
I have no idea.
-
I wish there were more interesting movies on these streaming services - I mean, things I haven't seen.
-
I suspect there might be, but I don't know how to search them.
-
I wish they had a category called Movies BK Hasn't Seen That He Might Enjoy.
-
I think there's gaslighting going on.
-
See?
-
Page ten.
-
Robin Wagner also designed the sets for The Producers.
-
And that very complicated set for Chess in London.
-
Starting to fade.
Good night, Bruce, and everyone here.
-
From DR Rodzinski:
Thank you. Their new place is quite nice, I’m told. I’ll see it tomorrow.
I hope you agree. I hadn't realized you have never been there. Did your in-laws go with your wife to tour it?
Yes they did. Now that I’ve seen it, it’s a lovely place. Everyone was very welcoming. It’s in a nice area of White Rock, pretty close to the Peace Arch US border. Staff was lovely. They are in a temporary room until there’s is ready. It’s like almost a regular apartment except they get escorted to eat three times a day.
Is White Rock a nice area? I hope they are even more pleased once they can move into their permanent living quarters.
White Rock is cool, yeah. Good area.
-
Where is GEORGE???
-
Down some damn rabbit hole or stuffing his face with cheese blintzes?
-
Hope the Rodzinski day wasn't too difficult.
-
Thanks BK. Things went surprisingly well.
-
A welcome HHW visit from DR Iris!
-
Have I the juice to get this to 11 pages?
-
Defunct restaurants.
-
Steak & Ale. I went to one in El Paso once with my uncle the army chaplain.
-
There are 84 remaining Sizzlers.
So it is not defunct. But any I’ve been to are gone.
-
I rarely have donuts anymore as they are far from healthy.
But that's the point! ;D
-
Good evening, Rodzinski.
-
Only 2 Arthur Treacher’s remain on earth.
-
Here’s G! Hello!
-
11 is now a distinct possibility!
-
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I just did a brave thing.
I got the e-mail that my DVRs need to be updated, but I haven't done anything about it, yet. ::)
-
Unless BK shuts us down at post #298
-
I lost power on my block in NYC once and my DVR was fried and wiped. A sad evening that was.
-
Unless BK shuts us down at post #298
Of course, he won't do that!
-
All the things I was never going to get around to watching were cruelly taken from me.
-
All the things I was never going to get around to watching were cruelly taken from me.
I hate it when that happens!
-
George, has your show been reviewed yet, locally?
-
Or internationally? Why think small?
-
We have the technology.
-
We can get to 11!
-
Is there a greater work of art than the intro to the Six Million Dollar Man?
-
https://variety.com/2023/biz/news/milt-larsen-dead-magic-castle-truth-consequences-1235627721/
The story on Mitt Larsen.
That's sad, but wow...92 years old! Hope he had a good life.
-
While in Olympia I want to drive by the State Capital.
Just drive by? They have tours and there's a gift shop. :)
-
Six Million Dollar 1973 intro, the Sistine Chapel of intros.

-
DR George, do you have any suggestions for something special to do?
There are tours of the governor's mansion, but I don't know the schedule, or how far out you have to sign up. It's free though.
-
George, did you decide where you want to meet, and what time is best for you? Lunch, early dinner, whatever you want :)
Lunch time is fine. I won't be working that day, so it's all open for me. What are you interested in? There's Mexican, Italian, all sorts.
-
Oliver Nelson wrote the famous theme to the Six Million Dollar Man.
But Glen A. Larson also wrote an incredibly cheesy, rarely-seen theme with vocals by Dusty Springfield.

I remember Roger Emerson Arrangements from when I was in school!
-
I'm seriously thinking of driving over to In-N-Out for a cheeseburger. Dare I? I'd have to go right now as they close at one.
-
So tempted.
-
Okay, I'll leave this open until I get back in ten minutes or so. Maybe we can get to page twelve or something like that.
-
Maybe we can.
-
In the meantime...
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Hope DR George's matinee went successfully.
Thanks, Singdaw, it went quite well!
-
Robin Wagner has died. His design of On the 20th Century was perfect.
I think his work on Dreamgirls was phenomenal. City of Angels, too.
Oh, no. :( I also loved what I'd seen of those original shows.
-
We're doing a couple of the Richard and Milt songs in the Kritzerland show, and we're also doing the two we wrote together.
Cool!
-
Robin Wagner also did the great sets for Promises, Promises.
And A Chorus Line. And Ballroom. And Angels in America. And Seesaw.
Wow! What an amazing body of work!
-
Where's George? Down some damn rabbit hole?
I got a call from my friend David in Seattle and we chatted for quite a while.
-
That took some time.
-
Then, yes, I went down the rabbit hole of my Instagram feed. ::)
-
I never post anything, just see what's there and "like" things.
-
Will BK get In n Out in time?
-
Today at my mom's, we had vegetarian burger patties with gravy (vegan mushroom for my sister and niece and meat-based gravy mix for me and mom), mashed potatoes, a crunchy Mediterranean salad from Costco, and some French pastries that my mom got from QVC.
-
Those were VERY good.
-
Depends on how long the line.
-
TWELFTH NIGHT
-
Where is GEORGE???
I'm HERE!!! Finally. ;)
-
Gratuitous Post #333!!!
-
Down some damn rabbit hole or stuffing his face with cheese blintzes?
That sounds good, but the French pastry things were good enough.
-
And I just now remembered that I was going to bring home the leftover mashed potatoes and gravy, but I forgot them at my mom's house. :P
-
I'll just have to get them within the next several days.
-
Defunct restaurants.
There used to be Skipppers Restaurants (https://skippers.com/locations-old/washington-locations/) all over the PNW.
-
Now, there are just five. :-\
-
Got In-N-Out - one cheeseburger and animal fries.
-
I do love their burgers - and it's so inexpensive there.
-
But, they also have "Skippers Go Fleet":
Locations are for folks on the go. Situated in convenience stores, grocery stores, delicatessens, pubs, kiosks, and various specialty eateries and entertainment venues Skippers Go Fleet sites feature a limited number of the most popular Skippers menu items such as: Skippers Original Fish & Chips, Clam Chowder, Breaded Original Shrimp, & Breaded Clam Strips. Dine-in seating available in some locations. Stop by a handy Skippers Go Fleet location today to Grab & Go!
-
Eating the cheeseburger now.
-
Really yummilicious.
-
I've been to a couple, both within about 20 minutes of where I live, and the fish is still as tasty as I remember.
-
Those are just not sit-down restaurants.
-
The McDonald's patties just aren't anywhere near this. In the 1960s they were, but not now.
-
Really?
-
I don't know.
-
I lost power on my block in NYC once and my DVR was fried and wiped. A sad evening that was.
I can imagine that!
-
Who?
-
I see.
-
And here we are.
-
I guess I should close this.
