Well, you've read the notes, the notes ran, and now it is time for you to post until the running cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RESILIENCE!
-
Notes engaged. Applied.
-
The mini HHW gathering sounded like a delight. Hopefully, next time, I’ll be able to make it down to Normal Washington and join up.
-
Just a bit over 3 hours by car.
-
Depending also on the length of lines at the border.
-
Anyone else fear George is never getting his car back?
-

That would be great!
-
It was great to see Jane and Keith after the show (even if we didn't get to hug our goodbyes), and to see Ann again!
-

BITE YOUR TONGUE!! :P
-
But, at least I have a free loaner...just have to pay for gas.
-
And not damage it in any way. ::)
;)
-
Thanks for all the kind words last night. We did go out to Applebee's after the show, and I did have a (quesadilla) burger and fries and diet Pepsi. It was all VERY yummilicious!!
-
We talked and chatted and ate and a very good time was had by all. There were four of us who were the last to leave, and we didn't leave until about 12:30 or so.
-
I drove Sara (Nurse/Mrs./Blair Daniels) to her home, then came home to my home and had to ketchup on all of yesterday's posts.
-
Which I have now done. :)
-
Hello, Rodzinski!
-
Now, I need to read BK's notes.
-
Good morning, all!
-
We had a very warm day yesterday, followed by thunderstorms around 6:30 or so. It's around 20 degrees cooler today.
-
I could barely stay awake yesterday, so around 7:30 I went to bed. I was in bed around 10 and a half hours, but I had a very restless night and probably got no more than nine hours of sleep.
-
Good morning. all.
-
Just up to check in for my flights tomorrow.
-
And I am headed back to sleep. Hopefully.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Ugh. Too early to be up on a Saturday after a crazy week. But we have to be up and at 'em for the cable guy.
-
My night was restless, too, ridiculously so. It was partly due to the temperature fluctuations and my trying to normalize it with the A/C.
It's now 30 degrees cooler than yesterday's peak, and that's good.
-
More coffee!
-
High of 68 today, and it looks like we'll be in the 60s for several days.
And that's good. Let's try starting summer all over again, please. None of this extreme business right off the bat, if you don't mind.
-
Good luck with your cable guy DR CHAS SMITH!
-
Pain be gone and upcoming travel vibes for DR JOHN G.

What is this "eat too much" everyone was talking about last night? I don't understand the phrase.
-
I watched a video of the Grease cast on the square last night.
They did "Dancin' At The High School Hop" and in typical dance studio fashion they did the routine to the song from the movie soundtrack...I think they were singing along, but I'm not sure.
Every time they "sang" the same words, they did the same steps....no comment.
-
Tomorrow is our Open House and then onto GREASE onstage and hopefully then it's OVER.
-

Yes DR RON PULLIAM. I myself keep my Kokomo covered up when I am out in public.

Yes! I would add "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn."
-
Yes DR RON PULLIAM. I myself keep my Kokomo covered up when I am out in public.
I have always thought it was the proper thing to do.
-
I had a decent night's sleep! First time in about four days, actually.
I had dreams. Oh, yes! I dreamed.
But all I can remember is that I did, not what they were.
-
TOD:
Where/how did Kazan pick up the nickname "Gadge"?
-
DR ChasSmith's tale of his running dream awakened a memory, of sorts.
I have only had one running dream that I recall. I don't remember when it was, but it was likely during a period when I was actively going to a gym (maybe 10 years ago).
My dream was bucolic -- a very nice running path through groves of trees, and past playgrounds and ball fields. I remember being amazed at my stamina, at having gotten my second wind and really picking up my pace.
I got to a place where others had gathered to start their runs. I seem to have recognized these folks and stopped to speak with them.
Then I woke up, feeling a euphoria of accomplishment. It was as if I had actually been running.
Pondering this amazing thing for a while, I began wondering if I might have tapped into another "me", on a different plane of existence. An alternate universe, perhaps? I then felt a twinge of jealousy for the fitness of the other me and how easily running came to him.
Oh, well. Thanks, DR ChasSmith, for reviving the memory.
-
This must be a busy Saturday morning for everyone.
It's been just me and "0 guests".
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I've already been out to breakfast and accomplished some errands.
-
I kept waking up dreaming I was drowning
-
My sinuses were driving me crazy
-
But I am still craving a Trousdale. I have been since hearing of it yesterday, and that desire has not abated.
-
Oh no, it has not.
-
I finally came out to the recliner and sat up so I could breathe
-
I’ve accomplished nothing and I have a train to catch in an hour
-
So I’ll Wordle and skedaddle
-
~~VIBES~~~ that things continue moving in the right direction for DR John G., health-wise, and ~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for tomorrow, to boot.
-
Fun to read of DR George's theatrical doings. So great that DR Jane and DH Keith could see the show, and greet Jed and DR Anne as well.
-
Thank you, Singdaw.

I guess I am up again.

Hi, Vixmom!
-
I have to get JB to the Tweet Suites today.
-
I'm up, I'm up - five hours of sleep.
-
For Hawaii, don't you need just one pair of shorts and one t-shirt?
-
What is this about An Admiral Toast Point?
-
Does anyone still serve toast points?
-
Does anyone still point toast serves?

I'll have what she's having.

For Hawaii, don't you need just one pair of shorts and one t-shirt?
I’m taking little more. Except medicine, a couple of books, power cords (almost typed power chords, but those are for America’s Got Talent), a few tea bags, swim trunks, flip flops.
-
Upon BK's recommendation, I am listening to John Vincent's Symphony in D Major. And it IS really lovely.
-
The mini HHW gathering sounded like a delight. Hopefully, next time, I’ll be able to make it down to Normal Washington and join up.
Plus, if you ever come down to Portland we are the last stop in Vancouver before crossing the bridge to Oregon.
-

Trouble posting today.
-
May be the Internet connection and the aftermath of the power outage.
-
That reminds me of the time my sister came home from college with this neat trick, eat all you want then throw up. We had fun eating everything we wanted to eat. Thank God I couldn't do the last part. I was soooo sick.
-
I have three chapters left in Virginia Woolf’s The Voyage Out and the main character has voyaged out (aka died). I don’t want to spend more time with these other people.

That is an awful dream. I am guessing you couldn't breathe.

Thank you and it was a wonderful trip.

Joh, I hope your body relaxes and feels better in Hawaii.
-
Last night I fell asleep seconds after my last post.
-
I actually stayed 😴
-
Keith was going to wake me when he woke up.
-
He was awake at 5:30.
-
Sweet guy left me sleeping until 7:00.
-
By 8:00 we were at Starbucks.
-
Since we decided not to stop for breakfast, I ordered hot chocolate.
-
Unfortunately I didn't taste it until after we were driving.
-
My order, for some strange reason, included mocha powder 😳 :P
-
Well, that was a bloody ordeal. Updated cable equipment is installed, but the guy was here at least two hours getting the incoming connections optimized and the main box working. But it's done now, and that's all that matters.
-
Now we just have to get used to everything. New system, new remotes, new functionality, new user interface, all that good
sh stuff.
-
I have pushed things and then laid down twice this morning.
-
Joh, I hope your body relaxes and feels better in Hawaii.
Thank you.

Travel vibes and pain-free vibes for John G.!
What is your flight itinerary?
Which island(s) are you visiting?
-
John, I don’t know if massage therapy would be helpful, but in Hawaii they have a technique known as Lomi-lomi massage.
I found it to be very therapeutic.

-
Back from a nice breakfast at the Coral Cafe - at least ten bucks cheaper than Hugo's and Art's. And frankly, better.
-
Did a few other things, went to Gelson's to get a light snack for later, and now I'm home sweet home. Not a wonderful day so far. Amazon Prime did their yearly charge - no warning, no nothing, just out comes the dough and boy have they gone up in price.

I was able to chat with someone at Canada Drugs about my missing meds.
-
That was a relief since I don't have time to do it on Monday morning.
-
I should hear back from them by Monday or Tuesday. Fingers crossed they text instead of calling. My phone won't recognize the caller and will mute the ring, plus I never understand what the heck they are saying.

Vertigo was mind-blowing. But it’s still not my personal favorite Hitchcock film. Rebecca, Strangers on a Train and Notorious are fighting for top spot. Maybe North by Northwest.
-
I have a cheap box set of movies that lists The Lady Vanishes as its main feature. It’s not even there. Beat the Devil is, which isn’t even advertised.

Iris, I’m spending a week on Kauai and a week on Maui. The only sure destinations I know are:

We came home from Kauai 4 days before the island was destroyed by Hurricane Iniki in Sept. of
1992.
We were staying at a lovely resort on Poipu Beach, Kiahuna Plantation…totally gone.
They were filming Jurassic Park on Kauai at the time, and the cast and crew had to ride it out.
-
I love Mama’s Fish House.
Was wondering if you were staying on the South Shore or the North Shore of Kauai.
And which part of Maui?
I’ve stayed in 4 locations on both islands, all completely different from each other.

Really? I have had Mahi-Mahi a few times and never thought it sweet, per se. It can be prepared many different ways.

I also like Mahi-Mahi.
I like to grill it, coated with a little bit of olive oil and blackened seasoning.
Reminds me a little bit of halibut.

Unfortunately, Mark Zuckerberg is doing his best to purchase as much of that part of Kauai as possible, 1500 acres so far.
Locals are furious, and the lawsuits are flying.

Uh oh.
I’ve started the dreaded Page 7.

I was hoping DR vixmom would tell us if she liked the play.
I am glad I saw it because it was so well acted , but it was very depressing

Afterwards I decided to treat myself to a meal at Veleska , the Ukrainian restaurant I’ve mentioned before
-
It’s down in the East Village
-
I was up on 48th and 8th
-
Vixmom, did you see The Comeuppance?
-
Normally I would have gone to Lillian’s Victorian, only a few minutes away
-
But I was really craving paprikash and borscht
-
I love Veselka.
When my daughter attended NYU, we would go there at all hours of the night.
One of her friends would show up wearing pajamas.
-
Borscht
-
Paprikash and vanilla egg cream and nearly finished borscht
-
They do have great borscht.
-
Hello DRs Iris and Vixmom!
-
Veselka is great, I can attest.
-
Great photos, Vixmom.
Yum.
-
First place I ever had borscht, I do believe.

They will be visiting over Canada Day, and are very disappointed that Vancouver has cancelled fireworks permanently.

My youngest had a dance recital today. How I moaned about the dozens of emails we received about every damn thing. Pages and pages with PDFs about her hairdo etc. But that all went out the window when I watched this high-quality dance show today, with excellent choreography and super-cute littles.
-
We stayed in Waikiki

Oh, Vixmom, great play.
Very depressing.

But we did have a day trip to Kauai
-
I truly cried the day we left , I did not want to go
-
My daughter saw it right after my mother’s death.
She was devastated.
We lost most of our family in Germany.
My mother spoke to her class about what they endured.
-
I also cried every time we had to leave Hawaii.
I wanted to move there.
There, or Vancouver!
-
Whew.

I shall now be forgiven for starting page 7.

Rodzinski, I will tell them!

Oh, it’s ok, Vixmom.
I have lived with those stories my entire life.

I find it fascinating that Tom Stoppard had no idea he had Jewish heritage until he was in his mid fifties.
All 4 of his grandparents perished in the Holocaust.
-
I would like to see that play when I can handle it.
Hopefully, it will win the Tony Award and run for a long time.
-
Rodzinski, the dance recital sounded delightful.
I remember attending them when my daughter was ages 6-9.
-
And tomorrow, George will be enjoying a Sunday in the Park!
I believe it will be the closing performance.
-
Good night, HHW.
Sweet dreams.

Safe travels. Wish I was going with you!
I'll have to share this with my sister. She and her three friends since college are going Hawaii in November. :)
-
Hope George is blowing ‘em away on stage tonight. Or maybe he’s done.
We had a great show!
-
I saw the house manager after the show (since I know her from ushering) and she told me that we had about 190 tonight!
-
My sister and her boyfriend and our mom saw the show tonight.
-
She said her boyfriend was tearing up at the end.
-
Several people from Tuck Everlasting in Centralia (that I was originally cast in) came up to see the show...but not just because me, though.
-
We had a great show tonight, and now, there's only one performance left!

Yes, and yes!

We had a great run!

It's too bad we only had six performances...of course, I'm sure that it's mainly because the theater is so large.

wouldn't it just?
-
Where did George go? Down some damn rabbit hole?
-
What?
-
I have no idea.
-
Don't ask me.
-
Because I won't dance.
-
I might do the LIMBO.
-
But I'd only do the LIMBO if I could do it in limbo.

How about I tell the story of The Randy Vicar and the Ball Peen Hammer?
-
Maybe not.
-
New noes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.

I've read them.

I wrote them.

Is there gaslighting going on?

Gaslighting 101.

See?
