Well, you've read the notes, the notes returned, and now it is time for you to post until the returning cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: INTRINSIC!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
A very nice par-tay last night here at HHW.
-
DR Jrand72 - congratulations on the weight loss. Sorry you didn't wink a Tony this year.
-
:)
-
A very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Richard Sherman (on the day)!!!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I got ready for bed at 11:00, didn't get to sleep until after 11:30, and decided at 5:30 when the alarm rang that I was too old and too sleepy to make my morning appointment. I called Access-a-Ride, canceled my trips and went back to bed.
-
I just rescheduled my appointment today for Thursday morning.
-
I must, though, get to Staples today and scan these scores I've been sitting on for the past week.
-
Somewhere in the Tonys last night, just after the Sweeney Todd number, my Macbook battery died. I got a popup warning, and as I began a post to say goodnight everything went black.
-
As for the awards show, I'll never be nominated so I'm no longer interested, and the theater I came to NYC to work in is dead. I arrived in NYC too late and my 15 minutes of fame ended in 2014 with the recording of Roberta. This weekend, on the Midsomer Murders episode "Blue Herring," an old man talked about aging and becoming invisible. I identified completely with it: my phone never rings, my work last year to score three numbers for West End International and this ballet score are my first work offers since 2019. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, just invisible.
-
I'm hoping I can get to Staples before the predicted rains come.
-
Good morning
-
Sending hugs for Elmore
-
Sending recovery vibes for George. Are you going to the doctor for drugs?

I don’t remember what they gave me last year when I got Covid but it made me feel much better within hours and completely well within 3 days
-
Oh wait! It was called paxlovid
-
It just came to me

Good morrow, ye gentle folk.
-
I have to say that yesteday was a singularly weird day for me.
I was up by 9 a.m. but had not slept well. I had my muffin and coffee and awaited my Zoom chat.
Had a very nice Zoom chat but left after about two hours. Sat down and closed my eyes for a minute. Quite some time later, I awakened.
I found the show "Medium" is on Amazon Prime. Haven't seen an episode in many years, so I started watching from Season 1. I thoroughly enjoy that show still. I watched quite a few Season 1 episodes.
At one point, I noticed that dusk was setting in and I panicked a bit because my immediate thought was that it was Monday and that I hadn't gone to the post office and done other Monday things.
As my senses returned, I realized that it was still Sunday. A long Sunday, actually. It isn't good, at my age, to be too tired when I get out of bed. The day will drag and my senses will dull.
I only briefly tuned into the Tonys (more than an hour after it started). Ah, well. I was recording it, so I will scan through for highlights. The portion I saw was the In Memoriam segment.
-
Good morning!

Tonight we have a run through of The Play That Goes Wrong.
I am fairly certain that I will not be the only one who is still on book....but of course we not DIRECTED to be so....it was a suggestion.
-
Next Monday we will be ONSTAGE - although for two weeks we will share it with the Youth Theeder Workshop - a completely useless drain on our time and resources.
Of course the director of this mess thinks that it is the ONLY worthwhile project we do each season and is surprised that some of us are annoyed that her participants run all over the theeder and play with all of the props of the other shows and never do a good production.
The production however is praised and attended by the parents who never attend anything else at the theeder nor do they support it in any way.

Well, I got as far as the corner of Amsterdam before I became convinced I needed to get back to the bathroom. The humidity is around 80% or more, which made the situation even worse.
-
I couldn’t seem to log in here yesterday and missed the bulk of the fun.
-
And the fun of the bulk.

Vibes for DR ELMORE!
-
Monday morning greetings! Assuming he recovers from today's basement work, Richard and I are going shopping this afternoon for presents to take to Charlotte's and Hannah's dual birthday party this weekend. The "biggie" was already delivered, but we want them to have some things to open, too.
-
Despite being Facebook friends, I completely missed the fact that Susan Schulman had died. Thanks FB algorithms.
What I can say is that nobody was nicer, more down-to-earth. She was always helpful to me when I was scouring for interviews back in the day.
-
...the theater I came to NYC to work in is dead...
Along with the theater we used to travel to NYC to see...
-
TOD:
I guess I didn't have any highlights - although it was nice to see/hear about the current shows that I have only read about.
I didn't care for the speechifying - but that's okay - everybody gets a few minutes to say what they want.
I guess I sort of liked the song & dance from SHUCKED because they had some original lyrics that referenced where they were and what was happening.
Low lights - Sean Hayes' speech about a play written FOR ME so ME could say the words written FOR ME and ALL ABOUT ME.....oh and ME - did I mention ME?
Victoria Clark's seemingly misguided performance in Kimberly Akimbo. I think the idea of the show is interesting - but it needs a different leading lady.
And all of the commercials and ALL of the producers who made their way to the stage for EVERY winner.
-
I guess I feel the same way that MR BK does about audiences today...it is American Idol time....but times change, so I guess I am not the audience they are seeking nowadays.
-
Richard's basement project is to pull down all the ceiling tiles. Some had been removed at various times for plumbing and electrical work and some had just fallen down and he decided it would look better with them ALL gone. He can do about 10 a day and has found some treasures hidden in the rafters: a tennis ball, a 1937 Canadian quarter with the likeness of King George VI, and a jar of currency from the 1960s ($350 in 10s and 20s). That last item is quite a mystery: Who put it there? Why? Is there more?
-
Good morning, all.

Suddenly envisioning DR Ginny and DH Richard ripping all the walls and ceiling apart...
LOL, DR ChasSmith - we're not that desperate!
-
A weird dream or two, mostly gone now, but at least one of them had something more or less to do with the Tonys. Nothing significant.
-
I was out later than I'd expected yesterday afternoon and didn't get the chance to figure out where PLUTO TV is, so I've seen nothing of that part as of yet.
-
TOD - our enjoyment of the Tony broadcast was severely compromised by the constant weather emergency interruptions. We finally switched to the Dayton CBS affiliate, but by then I'd kind of lost interest.
-
DR Jrand, congrats on your weight loss.
-
Last night I wondered if Joaquina Kalukango, the singer for the In Memoriam (whose name I always have to look up to get right, so I accept no credit for typing it correctly) had ever performed the role of Christine in Phantom of the Opera. She has not, but I thought hers was a beautifully paced and sung performance of that song, which I like a lot, and which often seems to me to be an awkward one for singers.

I have been to the dentist and had my tooth patched.

It didn't take long and a managed without a shot.

I also managed not to cough.

I will have to return for a crown.

That trip will not be easy.

My medication still has not been released from customs, however, there is a letter in the mail from them.

Unfortunately the mail will not have arrived before we leave for Bend.

Thanks, Vixmom. I didn't go in person, but I was able to order Paxlovid. It should be ready in a few hours.

I'm also waiting for a package to be delivered from FedEx that requires a signature, so I hope I don't miss that when I'm out getting the medicine.

I know vocalists are a matter of taste, but I found her changes in register pathetic, her vibrato worse than Ben Platt's, and I kept wondering who the hell thought this was a good spot for her. I went to YouTube to watch it again. She's bad when she forces. Some it is quite lovely, but I don't think it's consistenrtly good.

When I was in high school, probably my junior year in 1966-67, I went to Ohio and put a jar of money.....probably about $350 in a friend's house....in the basement ceiling.
I can't remember exactly where the friend lived - but if anyone finds it, please let me know.
-
On my way in a bit for a run-through.
With my book in my hands....along with all my props.
I expect at some time during the evening to be drenched in water and eventually handcuffed to a chaise lounge.

There were things about the Kimberly Akimbo number I liked. The young man was excellent.
I felt overwhelmed by the Shucked number, as if they had thrown everything into it. If the whole show is like that, it must be exhausting.
Lea Michele’s still doing Streisand from the film. I prefer the cadences and phrasing from the OBC better.
-
I passed a millstone.
-
Just watched the numbers from & Juliet (boring), New York, New York (meh) and Some Like It hot, which had Sondheim and Porter both rolling over in their graves. The lyrics were just lousy, never landing properly on the notes, so they just fell flat and sounded mushy. The tune was okay, if too much pastiche.
If Sondheim got after Ira Gershwin and Lorenz Hart for that laziness, as he called it, he wouldn’t have given these guys a pass.
-
Look to the rainbow, DR Jrand72.

I don't know if this is true, but it makes a good story.

Storage was a bust - cannot believe it. We re-pressed a title and I know we did not sell all of it - so, where are the boxes - we looked everywhere, but it's so damn crowded in these rooms that part of me just wants to throw out a ton of stuff. And I may do just that for the really bad sellers like the Baja Marimbas and Melodyland, where I have eight boxes of 100 CDs just sitting there that will never ever sell.
-
And there's another title we should have that we don't have - it's just weird.
-
Headed back to the water
-
Anyway, it was frustrating.
-
And not so easy to lug twenty-five boxes out so we could actually see titles that were being blocked.
-
And not so easy putting them back.
-
Swimmers
-
After we finished, I went straight to Tommy's and got a chili cheeseburger and chili cheese fries to go. Had I done Door Dash, which I almost did yesterday, the cost would have been twenty bucks and that's WITH free delivery. The cost actually getting it there? Eleven bucks and change. First of all, they're upping the price of every item on DoorDash. Then there are the fees and the tip. So, there's no upside when it's that kind of food.
-
I came home and ate everything and it was pretty good. Perhaps a few too many onions.
-
Then I did Sami stuff, got some new graphics for the Emmy stuff, caught up on e-mails.
-
Then I watched a motion picture - maybe I watched two, can't remember at the moment.
-
I know I watched one.
-
One is what I definitely watched.
-
Oh, that's right, I slept through two-thirds of another movie, a rare one I'd never seen that was pretty terrible.

What?

I did the Baja CD because I was told unequivocally that all the thousands of Baja fans would go crazy to get it. We put on great bonus material and - all those fans disappeared and I think we've sold under ninety copies of the 1000 we have. We maybe get two orders a year. Which is why I will never EVER listen to those kinds of groups online again.

I do not care for page seven.

Perhaps the two J's can get us off this damn page - Jane and John, not necessarily in that order.

Paxlovid is a good Jerry Lewis word.

Swiss Vanilla Almond.

Let's at least get to page nine.
-
We simply must.

And we have. Perhaps George can come out of the damn rabbit hole and help us get to page ten.
-
Did George take his dose and then go down a damn rabbit hole?
Yup. I've been moving files from one of my tablet's internal memory to the microSD card so that I can transfer them to my desktop computer.
-
Except that one video file won't fit on the microSD card. ::)
-
It's 12GB, and the card has 128 GB total, so I think it's more that the card isn't formatted to accept large files.
-
So, I'll just have to hook up the whole tablet to my computer with a USB cable and transfer it that way.
-
I had enough MSNBC. Watching a Golden Girls episode. Dorothy’s cross dresser brother has died.

I can’t stand commercials. I haven’t missed watching TV.

Did someone say something?

I don't have any Paxlovid.

I can’t count.

I don't even have any Lovid.

Unseemly.

Pending.

George is pending.

Page ten is pending.

George is transferring.
Slowly, but surely.

The whole damn ball of wax is pending.

The transfer is pending.
