Well, you've read the notes, the notes were speedy, and now it is time for you to post until the speedy cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LIMELIGHT!
-
Good morning, friends.

~~~CONTINUED VIBES OF CARE AND CONSOLATION~~~ for DR DR Iris~
-
Good morning, all!
-
:)
-
Today I will finish Act One of the ballet. One more act to go!
-
DR elmore3003 - is the second act shorter? Are you a bit more than half way through?
-
I'm waiting for an Amazon Fresh delivery. I don't think it will show before 7:15.
-
I slept well for five hours last night. At 2:00 I awoke with seconds to crawl to the bathroom. The cramps were terrible, but I made with Stella following me. Twenty minutes later, I was back in bed, but it took forever to get back to sleep.
-
DR elmore3003 - is the second act shorter? Are you a bit more than half way through?
Yes, thank God! The first act was 24 numbers. Act Two has 18, and I've alread orchestrated No. 26, so I've got 17 to score.
-
DR Iris, I'm happy that you find comfort and support from this group of partygoers at BK's daily partay. I've always felt that this is one of the best nuclear families one could create. As the actual members of my family dwindle and become strangers, I depend more on the families I've created from friends. You're grieving your mother, and I'm still mourning TCB.
-
Okay, I'm off. I have things to accomplish before Amazon arrives.
-
I had a very bizarre dream last night in which a theater company's season was saved when one of the lead actors inherited 6,700 orange groves.
TOD:
I absolutely adore the "The Thin Man" films
I am very fond of all the Maisie films with Ann Sothern
I love the "Die Hard" and the "Lethal Weapons" films.
I love the Edna May Oliver Hildegarde Withers films.
I enjoyed the "Planet of the Apes" original films.
-
One more time.
I'm up, I'm up - four hours of sleep.
-
Four is a bore.
-
With only four, you snore,
-
Eva Gabor doesn't recommend four.
-
Vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Continued vibes for DR IRIS.
-
The dark clothes are in the dryer and the lights are in the washer - it must be Saturday.
-
I think we need seaplane photos from DR RODZINSKI.
-
I posted DR VIXMOM's meme from last night on Facebook - I am sure following its advice will make me very popular at parties this summer.
-
It seems as though MR BK has the play well in hand.
-
On Wagon Train on ME TV this morning - one of my favorite kid actors is featured.....Roger Mobley.
He played Gallagher a teen age newspaper reporter on a couple of two part episodes of the same named series on Disney's Wonderful World of Color.....
Of course on FACEBOOK he went sort of TRUMP SUPPORTER crazy, so I had to unfriend him.
-
TOD:
Planet of the Apes
Beach Party
Die Hard
Man With No Name
Dirty Harry
I shall have to think about the ones I don't like.....
-
Good -- whatever it is, all.
I know I started this post while it was morning, but the site was crapping out on me a few times.
-
Urinetown was very good, probably equal to the first one I saw here some fifteen years ago. I mostly forget the ones in between.
-
From DR Vixmom:
I did not, but he kindly gifted me several unopened cassette tapes
Hmmm, you didn't mention these when I asked if you shopped at his storage unite (followed by a wink)
;D
-
From Ron:
Apart from food wrappers from every vendor and baker in the city of New York, what else did he have?
:))
-
I must scrounge up a little food, then look over some music. And top off my tank. I'm playing a church service tomorrow.
-
DR Vixmom, what a sweet anniversary surprise. Have you ever been to New Orleans?
-
DR Iris are you still clearing out and working on whatever needs doing to settle things since your mother passed away?
From Rodzinski:
Okay so we are staying at a lovely hotel on the water in Vancouver, BC, Canada. And we had a nice dinner and I spent time in the outdoor and indoor pools with the kids. And the big reveal is… a seaplane ride around the area tomorrow. When I think of a seaplane, the first thing that comes to mind is Fantasy Island. So off to the skies after breakfast!
Cool. I love watching the seaplanes take off and land up there. I first became fascinated with them as a child on Catalina.
-
I spent overnight at an "Indian Guides" camp on Catalina. I wonder if Indian Guides still exists. If they do, I'm sure they're not called that anymore.
-
Ron, we had just the Vixter but when she married Vixhubby we were gifted with a son
You are very lucky.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Texans won't put beans in their chili, but they'll put them in their "Texas trash bean dip," I guess.
TOD:
Best:
The Thin Man
Mad Max movies
The Godfather movies
Die Hard movies
John Wick
The Swedish “Girl” movies
The Pink Panther series
Evil Dead
Margarita Rutherford as Miss Marple
Worst:
The Thor series
Margarita Rutherford
I didn't know that Margaret got a Spanish makeover. 8)
She’s just salty, I guess.
-
In between
James Bond
Batman
Harry Potter
Alien
Clerks
-
THR33
-
Worst:
Mission Impossible
I was furious with the first Mission Impossible for who the bad guy was, still these are better than his two Reacher movies.
-
They should have featured Arthur Treacher in Reacher.
-
Think of the ad campaign!
-
The air quality is back up to 103 here. Unhealthy range.
-
I will be gone this afternoon/evening at a BBQ. We will be indoors, however.
-
Keith didn't understand why I hated the Reacher movies, until he saw the tv show with the 6'3" actor Alan Ritchson.
-
I am looking forward to season two of Reacher.
-
They should have featured Arthur Treacher in Reacher.
Why?
-
Think of the ad campaign!
;D Now I get it.
-
The air quality is back up to 103 here. Unhealthy range.
That is high-sorry.
-
I am glad our air quality has been good. I hate to think of what my lungs and cough would feel like if it were bad.
-
Very good point, DR Jane.
-
I hate to think of all those bad particles going into people's lungs.
-
TOD:
Die Hard
I do like those.
-
No. 24 is finished and on to No. 25. First, a break!
-
TOD:
Likes: Star Wars, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings/Hobbits
Dislikes: anything to do with superheroes
All of your likes, however, I also like superhero movies.
-
My favorite superhero films are the Superman ones with Christopher Reeve.
-
Like others here, I think the The Thin Man films were wonderful.
-
Very good point, DR Jane.
I unfortunately know what that kind of air quality feels like when I haven't been too bad.
-
When we moved from Los Angeles to Newark New Jersey I could feels my lungs clearing out the smog. Over the weeks, with each deep breath there was less pain.
-
I spent overnight at an "Indian Guides" camp on Catalina. I wonder if Indian Guides still exists. If they do, I'm sure they're not called that anymore.
LOL, I would think not. Did you take the ferry over?
-
The YMCA Indian Guides are now the Adventure Guides.
-
I like many of the Bond movies, problem is there are bad ones mixed in with the good.
-
I like the X-Men series.
-
I am hoping I like the last Raider's of the Ark film.
-
The Back to the Future films are fun.
-
Did you take the ferry over?
Yes, indeed.
-
A new batch of BK's albums have been re-released for streaming:
Everybody’s Gettin’ Into The Act (Studio Cast Recording)
Forbidden Hollywood (Original Cast Recording)
The Gay 90s Musical (Original Cast Recording)
Hank Williams: Lost Highway (Original Cast Recording)
The Kander & Ebb Album by Brent Barrett
A Night For Romance by George Bugatti
Judy Sings Judy by Judy Butterfield
Doing Something Right: Randy Graff Sings Cy Coleman by Randy Graff
Alone Together by Linda Purl
The Fantasticks In Jazz by The Trotter Trio
Lerner, Loewe, Lane & Friends
The Paul Simon Album
-
Did you take the ferry over?
Yes, indeed.
I remember having fun on that ferry, and I didn't get motion sick :)
-
I remember my father watching the seaplane with me and explaining how they landed in the water.
-
Nice memory.
-
Thank you.
-
The air quality is back up to 103 here. Unhealthy range.
Very much so. Ours is 52, and it's considerate "moderate".
-
They should have featured Arthur Treacher in Reacher.
Why?
Am fairly certain this was a bon mot...the names rhyme.
-
TOD Addendum:
I love the "Harry Potter" movies
And I love the "Lord of the Rings" films (just those and not "The Hobbit")
And the "Star Wars" films (original 3)
And "Indiana Jones" films...yes, even the last one.
And a HUGE LIKE for the Chris Evans "Captain America" movies.
And the Chris Pine/Zachary Quinto "Star Trek" films are awesome. They're da BOMB!
-
Three of those recordings on that list are NOT mine and are disgustingly terrible. That was after I'd left and the inept person running it at that time did those or picked them up, just before running the company into the ground.
-
Back from breakfast at Art's Deli - never again. Bacon and eggs? $23. What universe do these morons live in, I wonder? I had a bacon and cheese omelet - $17 but then you add the bacon and cheese and it's - $23. The same breakfast at the Coral Cafe costs 13.99 and it's much better tasting. Of course, you use up gas going there, so... But I've had it with those insane prices for a meal that probably costs them all of a couple of bucks.
-
DR JohnG: I really enjoyed the link to the song from "The Happy Time" you posted last night. I wasn't familiar with the recorded score, although I believe I have it in my storage unit. There are quite a few things I bought over the years thinking "I'll enjoy these when I retire".
Yet, they remain in storage and I've been retired almost six years.
A quick look on Amazon and found "Last purchased Aug 1, 2003", I love it that they let you know when you purchased things from them.
DR JANE I like you father and seaplanes memory.
DR singdaw enjoy yourself this evening.
-
DR RON PULLIAM I also like to see the purchased date on Amazon....let's me know how long I have had something that I haven't used yet.....or how long ago it was when I used it to begin with.
-
I also like the Captain America movies and also the Iron Man movies - since I like RDJ.
And I even liked the RDJ Sherlock Holmes movies from a few years ago.
-
I think I am going into the other room and play some LPs.
It's been a couple of years since I used that turntable!
-
MR BK is correct - eating out has become nearly too expensive for the likes of me.....although I still do it a time or two each month.
-
More for the social aspect than the dining experience.
-
There is no Free Pie Wednesday at O'Charley's anymore - at least in this area.
-
On Patrol Live is on tonight.
I missed last night's so that I could watch Beach Blanket Bingo and then the season opener of OUTLANDER on STARZ.
Around 3:30, Ann arrived with a burger and fries from a relatively new burger joint on Amsterdam Avenue, 7th Street Burger. New York Magazine calls it the best burger in Manhattan. Two patties, cheese, dill pickle and their sauce. It was fantastic, absolutely fantastic.
She said it was my Father's Day gift from the cats.
-
DR JANE I like you father and seaplanes memory.
Thank you.
I am hoping I like the last Raider's of the Ark film.
Me, too.
It is playing in Bend at the theater near our hotel, and has subtitles. Darn, just not on the days we will be there.
-
We might be able to see it, without subtitles, when we are there on July 6th.
-
Correction, I was looking at the wrong day. We might be able to see it on our next trip there.
-
Fast X is playing there. I do like Jason Statham.
Just looked at a picture. Dying for one of those, right now.
-
I just watched the trailer for the new Transformer's movie. Now I am not as interested in seeing it as I was before.
-
Topped off the tank. $3.47. It's inching up a few cents every few days now.
-
Also picked up the mail, and there was a nice package from BK. (One I kept forgetting I had coming, so it made a nice surprise.)
Thank you, sir!
-
A fun surprise :)
-
I didn't realize the new Spiderman movie is a cartoon. I will pass on that.
From DR Vixmom:
I did not, but he kindly gifted me several unopened cassette tapes
Hmmm, you didn't mention these when I asked if you shopped at his storage unite (followed by a wink)
;D
I did not stop by his storage unit, we went to brunch, and Jose brought those along for me.
-
DR Vixmom, what a sweet anniversary surprise. Have you ever been to New Orleans?
I was there for a few hours one day about 29 years ago.
John, will you be home for Father's Day?
-
All the albums listed are mine except: Everybody's Gettin' Into the Act, Hank Williams: Lost Highway, George Bugatti sings songs no one wants to hear, and Judy Sings Judy, a solo album of a then-fifteen-year-old singing Judy Garland. I don't believe Judy Butterfield has done any more albums and I have no idea if she's even singing. That album was from the time when the, well, when Clifford Bell was taking the company further into the toilet than the guy they fired, Bill Meade. Clifford lasted about six months.
Fell asleep for an hour or so.
Have shaved and will shortly shower, then be on my way to the theater.
Have a good evening.
I shall now be on my way to the theater.
I choked, no big deal except when I took a deep breath I triggered a coughing spell. It seemed like I spent the next ten minutes choking and coughing.
-
It probably seemed longer than it was. While I wasn't in any danger, it was rather unpleasant ;D
John, will you be home for Father's Day?
I won’t see him until Tuesday.
You will have to wait for his gift ;)
Our hosts have, in their living room, the following:
Seaplane trip was fun. I was worried how I’d feel on the smallest plane I’ve ever been on, but it was pretty smooth flying. Great views of Vancouver and the surrounding topography.
I would probably be somewhat scared and still enjoy the heck out of it.
Pretty much me. More turbulence would have made it scarier. But only had a patch.
Just a minute ago we got 5 minutes of the heaviest rain imaginable. We have a metal roof, so it was insanely loud.
Much as I would love to.
-
Good night, all.
-
George went down some damn rabbit hole.
-
And stayed there.
-
He's lost.
-
Which reminds me of the tale of The Randy Vicar and the Rabbit's Hole.
-
That's a risqué one.
-
And yet - no George.
-
Wonder what he's up to down there.
-
Something nefarious.
-
What?
-
I can't hear you.
-
Why, I don't know what you mean.
-
And yet.
-
Here we are, stuck on page nine at two in the morning.
-
I got involved in a long telephonic conversation, which is why the notes are up so late.
-
Had George not deserted us, just think what page we'd be on.
-
Just thing about THAT.
-
And then think about THIS.
-
Then think about fish.
-
You know who the most decorated fish is?
-
The Sturgeon General.
-
We don't allow groaning here at haineshisway.com.
-
I've had it with the damn rabbit holes.
-
Who needs 'em.
-
Not I. Not me.
-
I'm dancing as fast as I can.
-
Shouldn't we be on page ten already?
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
Gaslighting 101.
-
See?
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
