Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of shipping, and now it is time for you to post until the shipped cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SASHAY!
-
Topic of the Day: ditto to The Sound of Music and West Side Story, but I did also enjoy Titanic...well, at least the first time I saw it. My niece LOVED that movie, and paid for me to take her three more times! She actually saw it in the theaters a total of 21, count 'em, TWENTY-ONE times!! :o
To quote Moby Dick: The Musical (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Moby-Dick-1992-Original-London-Cast/1316/), "Obsession is not just a perfume!"
;D
-
I remember seeing Gone With the Wind (on VHS tapes) once, and did enjoy that experience, but I've never watched it again. And I do love 1776, the extended laserdisc edition, which is almost exactly what's on the Blu-ray release. :)

Today is Saturday.

You only get one per week.
-
Just a small Public Service Announcement.
-
Thanks for that video link, DR DR Iris.
-
BK, have you checked out the Claudio Abbado box set? It's only $900.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I was on a ballet roll yesterday, and I didn't get up from my worktable until 7:00./ I didn't get to bed until 10, so I'm an hour late today. The alarm rang at 6:00, but I dawdled and lolled about until 7:00 to get out of bed.
-
Another ballet day. I am into the Act Two dream sequence.

Good morning, all.
-
Well, it’s raining, so it must be a weekend.
-
I will be out and about (both words pronounced the Canadian way, if you please) most of the day, so I’ll be scarce until this evening.
-
I do like my movies long, and certainly most of the epic classics. I’ve actually been pleasantly surprised recently at discovering a couple of unexpectedly and satisfyingly long ones I hadn’t known before. Now what were they? Where is my mind on this Saturday morning?
-
Still waking up, that’s where. Yesterday was a sneezey allergy day and I took a Benadryl to sleep on last night. It did the job and I’m feeling much drier now, thank you very much — but also still a little groggy. I’ll take it.
-
The Canadian Way...sounds like a wonderful title for a book (if it isn't already).
My relatives in Virginia speak that way, too...as do folks from the Charleston SC aea.
-
It has become Saturday again.
Honestly, I don't know why these labels mean anything to me any longer since I don't work, but people WILL keep different hours on the weekends, as well as scheduling special events, so one must keep up with the times.
-
I only mentioned the above because when I first woke up, I was pondering whether it was Monday or Tuesday. As my wits slowly collected themselves, I made it all the way to Friday before it occurred to me that Friday was yesterday.
Slow, but steady as it goes.
-
From what I see out my windows, the day is gorgeousl I stuck my head out the door when I opened my garage, and the temperatures feel moderately cool. Lately everything has been humid, so perhaps the weekend will be rather nice.
-
TOD:
All "The Lord of the Rings" films extended editions. (This does not include "The Hobbit" films)
"Meet Joe Black
Most of the ones previously mentioned, plus the 1963 "Cleopatra". I also enjoy the David Lean films a lot, but maybe once every two years is my tendency to watch.
-
Even though I have been back in South Carolina for nearly six years, the vision of southern ladies sashaying around, or throwing hissy fits, has not met my eyes.
I either do not get out enough, or the proliferation of HVAC and alcohol has put an end to all of that.
-
Good morning!
-
Wordle: 5/6
-
When I was in high school, however, I used to see hissy fits whenever the entitled leaders of various female cliques (plus an occasional male) could not get her way about something.
Just like you see in the movies, as a matter of fact.
-
I have a very nice light that attaches to the top of my laptop and shines down on the keys.
It's a grand light for seeing!

I think it's going to be a hot day here today.
-
Good morning
-
Yesterday , right after work, a co-worker and I stopped at a diner for dinner.
-
They we drove over to a local , long established music events venue where we enjoyed a show by The group Chicago
-
This venue is in the round, and the stage rotates
-
There were 10 musicians on stage and the show was spectacular
-
We had seventh row seats
-
The audience seats are raked so you get a nice view
-
And I was given a set list by one of the stage crew!

Astonishing events unfolding in Russia.
No good guys on either side.
-
Jane, I posted some answers to your question about Fog City Diner last night.
Better late than never. 😊
-
I just bought a used copy of that cookbook for a few bucks.
-
Corn.
-
Corn fritters, to be more specific.
-
From Jrand:
DR JANE is certainly the gadabout.....and we all know what the Apostle Paul said about such women.
:))
-
From Iris:
“Has anyone eaten at Fog City Diner?”
Asked by DR Jane the other night.
We had dinner there in April/1986 with our then 10 month old little one.
I love diners, and had a great time at this one.
I'm glad you enjoyed your meal there.
-
DR Ron, I expected you to say you have eaten there.
-
From Iris:
The sign on the front door said NO CRYBABIES. 😊
The neon clock spelled out DON’T WORRY.
LOL, I don't remember that.
-
From DR Iris:
I bought the cookbook, and I remember using their recipes to bake wonderful peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, lemon-almond pound cake, and many excellent varieties of bread.
Maybe I should have done that.
-
I wouldn't have any interest in going to Fog City without the diner.
-
From George:
She would've been very upset if she didn't win at least one game.

From George:
But she did, so all is well.

Is the House GOP actually allowed to expunge Trump’s two impeachments?

Thank you. I enjoyed reading your responses.

I just bought a used copy of that cookbook for a few bucks.
Cool. If I still baked, or cooked, I would look for it.
-
Corn fritters, to be more specific.
Yum.

If I like a movie it doesn't seem long and I wouldn't be able to say they were over three hours.

I am browsing lists of movies that are three house or longer.

There's a fan edit of The Hobbit that took the three extended versions of the film, and then cut out everything that wasn't in the books. It's a little over four hours long, and it's really good! You can get more information and actually download it from here:

Avengers: Endgame pops up on lists for the best long movies. While I don't know if I would consider it one of the best, I certainly didn't notice it was three hours long.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.
-
An annoying text was the cause of waking up.
-
Oh, and remember yesterday - the critic who sounded like me, saying how civilized the audience was at Encores? Well, apparently not:
"I was there last night and thought the performance was terrific. My problem (admittedly slight) was with the audience. The increasingly vocal reactions have gone from being exciting—who doesn’t like a thrillingly visceral response?—to being predictable and performative. And, if I’m being honest, obnoxious. Every number there seemed to be someone who HAD to be the one to start the applause, so a number’s final note hadn’t even been played and the audience was screaming and cheering like they were at a rock concert. Every. Single. Number. And there was one guy, after Clara’s act two song, who leapt to his feet, applauding like a mad man—is the show about Margaret and Clara Johnson, or is it about YOU?"
-
That's enough to keep me far, far away.

It is. I am wondering if this is the same show I have seen before, or a new one. I hope it is new and these are becoming more popular.

You lucked out :)

I made a dent in No. 27, but I've got about 30 bars to go to finish it.
-
I've closed up shop for the day so I can lie about and be lazy. Stella and Thatch are happy about that.

DR Laura, I wish I had a house full of kittens..

Well, I need to take a shower, get dressed, and then hie myself to Tacoma Little Theatre for the memorial service for DR Tom (aka TCB). :(

My old band started most of our shows with Chicago’s “Beginnings.” Usually we then segued into Bread’s “Make It With You.”

In downtown Vancouver for the night for an early celebration of Mrs Rodzinski’s birthday (Tues.)
-
NO CRYBABIES!!!

I might’ve goofed. I bought her a nice bicycle to cruise around in, and I stored it in the crawlspace under the house. Thought I might surprise her with it this morning before we left, and I couldn’t get it out of the crawlspace!

I am looking forward to PREVIEW HARVEY!

You could turn her gift into a scavenger hunt for her to find it ;)

Back from Gelson's - decided on tuna sandwiches - of course, no onion rolls left, so got sesame burger buns instead.

I guess they can't do Funny Girl, then.

Though I guess all they really need is a bagel.

Got some plants today. Plumbago, plumeria, bougainvillea vera and Maid of Orleans jasmine.
-
I think the woman’s prices get better as summer goes on.
-
She had huge orchids for $8. The plumeria was $5.
-
Nice.
-
DR Ron, what was your starter word for wordle today?
-
Frederic Forrest has died. I liked him in One From the Heart, even if I had problems with the movie.
-
Frederic Forrest and Cindy Williams having a Conversation in the sky.
-
Exactly.
-
Let’s move on…
-
Push!
-
Six!
-
One page until seven!
-
I’ve placed The Conversation on hold at the library.
-
Finishing up Watership Down. Sad, moving book.
-
Then I will attempt to watch John Wick 4, which I had queued up before reading today’s notes.
-
I can’t say I wasn’t warned.
-
In this movie, a French leader has a dining room as tacky as Donald Trump’s bathroom.
-
Finishing up Watership Down. Sad, moving book.
I have read it twice, the first time in 1972. When we downsized our book collection we kept this one.
-
The problem: it’s all bad chi, while Trump’s was an egregious reality.
-
Then I will attempt to watch John Wick 4, which I had queued up before reading today’s notes.
I thought it was good.

I'm sorry Jane, but I didn't see this until after I left. I'm now sitting in my car ketchuping on HHW.
-
The memorial was touching and funny and a wonderful tribute to DR Tom.
-
He definitely made his mark on the Tacoma theater/theatre/theeder scene.
-
And now, I'm heading back south to Tumwater.
-
I will probably stop somewhere to get something to eat (and go to the bathroom)...I should've thought of that before I left the theater. ::

I’m glad you were able to go.

Happy birthday, Mrs. R!

The memorial was touching and funny and a wonderful tribute to DR Tom.
I am glad it was what I expected.

How long did Jed talk for?

So glad you could attend, DR George.

I am sure it was a fitting tribute.

Corn.

In my next staging of Macbeth, I'm going to use crockpots.

It will be electrifying.
-
And it will stock the concessions for intermission.
-
So really, it's a win-win.
-
Keep going, Singdaw. You started the page.
-
You get to finish it.
-
Taylor Swift is performing in Minneapolis this weekend. The throngs have descended.
-
I will not be attending.
-
In case you were wondering.
-
Today would have been my dad’s 95th birthday.
-
They call themselves "Swifties."
-
Hugs, DR John G.
-
Will your thong be there, Singdaw?
-
I am not a Swifty because I am not very swift.
-
Will your thong be there, Singdaw?
Yes. I sent it on ahead.
-
My thong is among the throng.
-
And each deserve the other.
-
Isn't that a fine kettle of what is it, fish.
-
I could go for a bag of kettle fries.
-
I hear she gives a grest concert.
-
But there aren't any, alas.
-
I could go for a bag of kettle fries.
Or kettle chips.
-
Have you heard any reports on the ushering event you missed, or is that tonight?
-
Or kettle chips.
Yes, that is what I meant.
-
Not all my home fries are burning, apparently.
-
I'm firing on less than all my cylinders.
-
Have you heard any reports on the ushering event you missed, or is that tonight?
It’s next week.
-
EIGHT.
-
Eight!
-
My mind is pixelate.(d)
-
I'm firing on less than all my cylinders.
Coming down to my level?
-
Level up or level out, I always say.
-
Say what?
-
What say?
-
Wa watusi.
-
I think Wawa markets are an East coast thing.
-
"Wawa" is also a song in The Miracle Worker: The Musical
-
Today would have been my dad’s 95th birthday.
Sending hugs.
-
So far, page eight is all that and a bag o' chips.
-
But with six you get eggroll, so...
-
I blame it on the bossa nova.

I’m surviving John Wick 4. I just love it when you hsve to kill an obese German dude in the middle of a dance floor and nobody stops dancing.

I am wearing my new t-shirt today.
-
It has a black lab roasting marshmallows over a campfire and says "THE GOOD LIFE Bend, Oregon"
-
Cute, DR Jane.
LOL, I just split that into two posts.
-
I removed my post, as it no longer made sense. ;D
-
But now, it makes even less sense.
-
You might even say it's a nonsensical state of affairs.
-
The cotton fabric also feels very nice.
-
Which wouldn't be the first time.
-
But such nonsense fills a page.
-
Does it not?
-
One more.
-
NINE
-
So, why can audiences read subtitles in a John Wick movie, but not Fellini or Antonioni?
-
We are going to watch Extraction ll

If we removed all the posts that didn't make sense we'd be on page one. :)

Peach bread pudding with caramel sauce.

If we removed all the posts that didn't make sense we'd be on page one. :)

Been watching episodes of a one-season 1957 show called Decoy, starring Beverly Garland. Incredible casts in the episodes, which I'll talk about in the notes, some fun NYC location shots. This was groundbreaking as the first show to have a female protagonist police woman in the lead.
-
But it IS Beverly Garland.....one of my least favorite actresses.
-
Vibes that DR RODZINSKI can retrieve the bicycle.
-
Dr JANE is wearing a NEW t shirt.....starting a fashion trend.
-
I am watching ON PATROL LIVE on Reelz.
-
It is getting dark and the parakeets are clamoring to get covered up.
-
Some of the new plants

And I was given a set list by one of the stage crew!

Oh I am glad there will be a HHW representative there.
I do so miss TCB
-
In downtown Vancouver for the night for an early celebration of Mrs Rodzinski’s birthday (Tues.)
Happy early birthday Mrs R!
-
I might’ve goofed. I bought her a nice bicycle to cruise around in, and I stored it in the crawlspace under the house. Thought I might surprise her with it this morning before we left, and I couldn’t get it out of the crawlspace!
Ack!
-
I think the woman’s prices get better as summer goes on.
Um, what are you buying?
-
Peach bread pudding with caramel sauce.
Yes please
-
I left the house at noon to run my errands and got home at just shy of 6 pm
-
First I went to Costco
-
I think HHW'ers should start asking for Play Lists for all concerts they attend.
-
Upon arrival I discovered I hadn’t brought my membership card
-
Made a batch of potato salad for the family reunion tomorrow using my mom's secret recipe.
-
Oh no DR VIXMOM - could they find you in the system?
-
Fortunately, the Greek god at the membership desk gave me a day pass so I didn’t go have to drive back home for my card
-
His name tag read Adonis
-
He was aptly named
-
There I picked up the half sheet cake and birthday cake I ordered last week
-
Also picked up two vegetable platters and 6 lbs of coleslaw
-
Then I went to church and brought the food in
-
Rearranged the refrigerator so it would fit and to make room for the cold cut platters
-
I think the woman’s prices get better as summer goes on.
Um, what are you buying?
Wouldn’t you like to know?
-
I took another trip out to the car and brought in the paper goods and decorations
-
Adonis.
-
My Bible study group is making dinner Tuesday for vacation Bible school. Tacos. I got ground beef, cheese and chips yesterday at Costco.
-
There’s still another half-hour to go. I’m getting exhausted.
-
I do like the dogs in these movies.
-
That's a lot of coleslaw.
-
Was watching a documentary on Prime about the International Male catalogue.
-
But I'm not going to make it through to end tonight.
-
Fading fast.
-
Good night, friends.
-
The memorial was touching and funny and a wonderful tribute to DR Tom.
I’m glad you were able to go.
Thanks, John. So was I.
-
I think the woman’s prices get better as summer goes on.
Um, what are you buying?
Wouldn’t you like to know?
I hear tell her “orchids” are enormous.
-
How long did Jed talk for?
Just a few minutes. There were four HHW pictures on the projection, including one with you, me and Tom.
-
Also one with Tom and BK, and two with HHW groups.
-
That's a lot of coleslaw.
I’m assuming about 80- 100
-
Guests I mean
-
All four of those pictures were one slide.
-
So glad you could attend, DR George.
Thanks, Singdaw.
-
I am sure it was a fitting tribute.
It definitely was!
-
Sorry I got distracted by that peach cobbler and remembered I bought a blueberry pie this evening and there was vanilla ice cream in the freezer
-
Also one with Tom and BK, and two with HHW groups.
Oh that’s nice
-
Anyways…after I brought all that stuff into the church I discovered ( much to my joy) that some person or persons unknown had kindly set up 12 big round tables and three long serving tables
-
And placed chairs around all of the round tables
-
So that was a great relief
-
Then I popped ‘round to the BJ’s where I collected the cold cut platters I ordered last week
-
Two “Italian” and two “American”
-
Sorry I got distracted by that peach cobbler and remembered I bought a blueberry pie this evening and there was vanilla ice cream in the freezer
How can one forget blueberry pie?
-
Eleven!
-
I survived John Wick 4.
-
Also 5 packages of 20 dinner rolls , and 3 package of premade salad fixings and two packages of grape tomatoes to dress it up a bit

I survived John Wick 4.
I have never see a John Wick movie
-
So I brought all that stuff back to the church and fortunately it fit in the refrigerator
-
Taylor Swift is performing in Minneapolis this weekend. The throngs have descended.
Oh, my! At first I thought I read, "The thongs have descended." :o
-
:))
-
Then I moved the tables to where I wanted them placed and set up an additional two serving tables
-
Then I put out all the tablecloths and centerpieces
-
Will your thong be there, Singdaw?
Great minds think (perceive?) alike! ;D
-
:)

That's fantastic! :D
-
Then I went into the sanctuary and set everything up for tomorrow’s service
-
It has a black lab roasting marshmallows over a campfire and says "THE GOOD LIFE Bend, Oregon"
Nice!
-
Then I went grocery shopping for our dinner
-
Dinner was chicken breasts seasoned with Penzeys Sunny Paris and minced lemon peel, rice pilaf and peas
-
Peach bread pudding with caramel sauce.

Yummy!!

Fortunately, the Greek god at the membership desk gave me a day pass so I didn’t go have to drive back home for my card
He was aptly named
In my best George Takei voice, "Oh, my!" ;)
-
Also one with Tom and BK, and two with HHW groups.
Oh that’s nice
It really was.
-
Sorry I got distracted by that peach cobbler and remembered I bought a blueberry pie this evening and there was vanilla ice cream in the freezer
How can one forget blueberry pie?
Good question!

Good question!
I remembered! ( eventually)
I warmed up the slices and added vanilla ice cream on top
-
And made a nice pot of tea
-
My Bible study group is making dinner Tuesday for vacation Bible school. Tacos. I got ground beef, cheese and chips yesterday at Costco.
Ooh, that sounds nice
-
What?

Peach pie is intoxicating.

But it IS Beverly Garland.....one of my least favorite actresses.
But...but...she was so good as the mother of Catherine Hicks in "Tucker's Witch"!!
-
He was aptly named
Probably akin to the issue discussed in an episode of "Golden Girls". Sophia claimed she stuffed a wad of bills into the G-string of a guy named "Mr. Big."
Blanche said, "Oh, I know him. That's just a stage name."
-
DR Ron, what was your starter word for wordle today?
EAGER
-
Watching a movie called Of an Age. It’s about a Serbian born ballroom dancer who falls for his partner’s brother. They meet up again years later. Both leads are excellent.
-
DR Ron, I expected you to say you have eaten there.
No, but I have eaten at David's Deli on Geary Street, across from the Curran Theater. Dr. singdaw and partner were there with me.
-
The audience seats are raked so you get a nice view
Yes, I would imagine so, but doesn't it hurt like hell when the tines go across your face?
-
There are kittens running amok around the living room.
Those are absolutely the best kinds of kittens!!!
-
Thanks George for helping represent HHW at the Tom tribute today.
-
Thanks George for helping represent HHW at the Tom tribute today.
It was my pleasure.
-
Oh, I almost forgot! On a personal note (B-flat), Sharry (Tom's friend) gave me a couple of keychains!
-
:D
-
Finished with my viewing.
-
Smoke detector in the hallway started beeping because I don't have enough annoyances right now.
-
Put a new battery in, kept beeping, pushed some button, then it began beeping like crazy, did like five beeps, then four, then three, then two, and now it seems to be okay. These things should be MUCH easier.

Good night
-
And what the HELL happened to George, whose last post was three HOURS ago. That's a biiiig rabbit hole.
-
Most unseemly.
-
We don't want the I fell asleep excuse. We don't want the Phase 92 excuse. We don't want the I forgot excuse or the I went out for a late bite excuse.
-
None of those will do.
-
They will not do.
-
What?
-
I can't hear you.
-
Must be too far down the damn rabbit hole.
-
We could have been on page fourteen by now, but noooooo...
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
And no one's in the jernt to read them.
