Well, you've read the notes the notes had fifty shades of shades, and now it is time for you to post until the fifty shades of fifty cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BANQUET!
-
Topic of the Day: only because I watched it when I was probably too young to see it (it was on HBO and I watched it on my little TV in my bedroom when I was in probably early high school ::) ): The Harrad Experiment, and what a coinkydink, starring Don Johnson, father of Dakota Johnson (star of Fifty Shades of Grey) and Tippi Hedren, grandmother of Dakota Johnson, and in an uncredited student role, Melanie Griffith, mother of Dakota Johnson. It's all in the family!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Nothing noteworthy happened overnight.
-
That doesn't necessarily mean that I won't post about it endlessly.
-
The hours of daylight are getting shorter.
-
Mornings at Seven.

Mourning Becomes Electra.
-
Too Many Mournings.
-
What we need is a drink.
-
Good morning, all!

This computer is really on its last legs. I've called Joshie and left three messages since Monday. I suspect he is on vacation, but I would sure like to go shopping for a new computer with him.
-
We have an air quality alert for today. I'll take the recyclables to the basement, pick up the mail, close the door, and work on the ballet.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I dreamt I was stranded on Antarctica and forced to run the only concession stand. The food was lousy, but nobody seemed to care except me.
-
Must drive in to the office.
-
I dreamt I had escaped from kidnappers, clothed only in a yellow towel, and was trying to persuade some D&D players to escort me home . They were afraid to get involved so I scoffed at them being afraid to go in a real quest and to save a maiden in distress. Also for some reason I was only about 4’10” and they were all around 7 foot tall and teenage boys.
-
I had better get ready for work
-
The Only Concessions Stand in Antarctica has a nice ring to it.
-
But first Wordle?

I dreamt I had escaped from kidnappers, clothed only in a yellow towel
Are you sure you weren't escaping from starring in Contact on Broadway?

Yeah, I was gonna say, DR Jrand72 had probably best not put this one through the machine.

This morning, Randy sent me this photo, wondering if I remembered where it was taken. I remembered two things: the park bench and we were visiting a zoo. I cannot remember now if this is in Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Washington DC, or Kansas City.
I don't think it's Kansas City; that was August 1956, and I don't think I look 10 years old in the photo. I'm guessing Pittsburgh, when we went to visit my Dad's brother.
-
I love photo mysteries like that, DR Elmore. But I wish they could be solved.
We have one just like that of my dad and his mom at just such a place, that he was never able to say 100% which location or year it was taken in.
-
Of course all those photos need is a movie marquee, and we’d have the answer in five minutes.

Good day, one and all.
-
I had another disgustingly great night of sleep.
I slept extremely well. I dreamed and dreamed and cannot remember a thing about any of it.
It's a gray day here, and it is 79 degrees of temperature.
-
I am trying to convince myself it is time for a Sam's Club run.
My freezer tells me there is no more ice cream inside, and that is the main reason for the trip.
However, on the way back I can stop at Cook's Roadside produce and load up on fresh veggies, and that is always a good thing.
-
I'll know soon enough what I will do.
First, I must have coffee.

Thursday.

Enjoyed your photos, DR elmore3003. The monkeys and who?
-
You can bet that a dress rehearsal that requires you to wear to most layers of clothing will take place on the hottest day of the summer so far.....that was yesterday.
-
Nice to read about your lunch with friends DR RODZINSKI.
-
The director hasn't posted his notes yet.....I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
No calling for lines tonight....we're on our own.....the actor was a little better last night.....but sometimes he leaves me no place to go.
And I have to ride up the elevator - which involves me opening and closing the doors and then running up a flight of steps and coming out through the doors up on the platform and take a bottle of whiskey out of a globe liquor cabinet and THEN talk to him through a speaker.....and he talks so fast he's waiting for me to talk as soon as I get out of the elevator....
slow down, Buster!
-
Yikes.
-
Dance like no one's going to put it on YouTube.
-
I did not read Fifty Shades and had no interest in the movie. The only thing I have seen Jamie Dornan in is Barb and Star Go to Vista del Mar, and he was fun. But the movie was pure silliness.
-
The sequel to BK's lampshades movie will involve buying pairs of sunglasses.
-
Mars enters Leo today.....optimism is warranted.
-
DR Rodzinski, your time with your friends sounds delightful. I have never seen the view from the revolving restaurant.

We have a 90-degree day with high humidity, and ADDAMS FAMILY at the local outdoor theeder has its final dress rehearsal tonight and opening tomorrow night. Holy moly, would I ever NOT like to be among them, schlepping heavy keyboards and amps in and out of the building, setting up the laptop, etc., in this
sh stuff. It's one of those times that I'm very glad to have said no to the invitation a few months back.
-
Just for kicks ..... here's the photo that had confounded my dad. He was guessing the year, as you can see, but he couldn't say what the background told him about the location. One guess was the Cedar Point amusement park up on Lake Erie, but it could just as easily have been something like the Columbus or Cincinnati zoos, or maybe even the Coney Island amusement park on the Ohio River...if it existed back then, but I think it did.
-
I had thought the architectural touches on that building would provide the clue, but I don't think anything positive was ever identified.

Coney Island was always a place I wanted to go to since I was a little kid, but my parents had no interest, I guess their attitude was, we had LeSourdsville Lake, which I loved. Then King's Island took a lot of the Coney Island trade.

That's one I never knew about, and it looks wonderful. We had one a little east of Columbus, at Buckeye Lake, that I vaguely remember.
Kings Island was pretty new when I began driving down to Cincinnati from Cleveland (my folks moved there from Florida in December 1969), and I've passed it on I-71 countless times between then and now. But I've never been to it. My family certainly had, especially my sister's kids and grandkids.
Coney Island is still down there by the river, mostly in name only. I think it's more a recreational site these days. But King's Island did take some of the rides and all, and the last I heard, they still had a Coney Island section with those still working. That, at least, is the way to do it if you must be a giant that causes good things to close.
-
Kenneth Branagh is going to direct and star in King Lear.
-
I went to Coney Island once. I went to Kings Island once. I enjoyed both.
-
I see they still have a section called Coney Island Mall, but I don't know how much of the original stuff is still there.
And I was wrong about when Kings Island opened. It wasn't till spring of 1972. But I probably saw it, or at least their Eiffel Tower, under construction, on those earlier drives, and I remember there was one of Voice of America's huge antenna farms located just to the south of it.

TOD
As someone who never married and never had kids or who ever had to be responsible for kids, I have lived my moviegoing life in blissful ignorance of the ratings system.
The only time it would have affected me was when I was still living in Cleveland before turning 21, and the li'l rite of passage I gave myself on that occasion was going to an "adult" film. I hate to even admit what it was, but I THINK the one I went to - and it was really horrible to me, even then - was one of the I AM CURIOUS films (Yellow or Blue, who the hell knows) that was playing in some theater in East Cleveland. Its awfulness did me the favor of automatically wiping itself out of my memory to save me the trouble of doing it.
Anyhoo, I wouldn't know if any films I've seen pushed any boundaries, since I never took it upon myself to be aware of it. At any rate, nothing in particular comes to mind.

I saw Bertolucci’s 1900 before I turned 17. It was a real eye opener. Full frontal nudity and violence, both standard and grotesque. I can remember Donald Sutherland running with a pitchfork stuck in his neck, another in a thigh. And it went on for four hours.

Get me off this damn page.

Remember I mentioned the person who was going to leave Facebook but instead has decided to do a blog/diary on Facebook instead - and I mentioned they'd been to this here site. So, today they do their first entry - "Last night I watched" and just like here we get a rundown of the movies - and I do mean just like here. This person is trying very hard to do our kind of humor but they're not us so it's not funny. And just before they finish the thing, what word suddenly appears as if by magic? "Gaslighting." Coincidence or homage, you tell me. :)

Unavailable online for eight years, the 2011/2012 web series Outside the Box returns. In the series premiere, Beth Leavel gets a call from Stephen Findle, the artistic director of the Outside the Box Theater Company. They're doing a new musical and they want Beth Level to star. The new musical? Tune in, it's a good one. Also starring Melody Hollis, Barry Pearl, Sandy Rosenberg, and Brandon Uranowitz. Written and Directed by Yours Truly. Edited by Marshall Harvey. Choreographed by Adam Cates. Musical Direction by John Boswell. Music and Lyrics by Yours Truly, Outside the Box Theme by Grant Geissman.
Please like our channel (this is VERY important) and watch the other eleven episodes of Outside the Box. If you click on and/or search the channel name (haineshisway), you'll find the other episodes, plus Tonight's the Night, which I posted about yesterday but which the dreaded algorithms are doing their dreaded best to make sure no one actually sees the post. :) Also, leave a nice comment if you like. Interestingly, even though I put these up yesterday but didn't tell anyone, people have found them anyway. Go know. https://youtu.be/ugBx0mY07sw

I have the "Tonight's the Night" Blu-ray with all of that on it, which I have happily devoured a couple of times since. But I'll be happy to go through and put the ol' like on each of those if that will help.

Done!
-
I've loved the OTB episodes since I first saw one years ago, but it's really a treat -- and essential -- finally having them on the Blu-ray.

Outside the Box.....subscribed.....didn't see a place to "Like" but I may find it yet.

DR CHAS SMITH those are some nifty shades your father is wearing.

Here's an article about Indy's Riverside Amusement Park where our parents used to take us at least once every summer.
Built in 1904 it closed up in 1970....our last couple of visits in the late 1960's proved to be a bit scary.....some really weird characters had made the place their own.

I did go to Aiken and Sam's Club.
And my freezer is fat and happy with plenty of ice cream, plus some other goodies, including a package of garden salad lettuce.
Bought a rotisserie chicken, as well, plus some blueberry muffins.
And on my way home, a slight deviation to Cook's Roadside Produce where I got cucumber, tomatoes and squash, along with some Vidalia onion/cucumber salad dressing.
I feel so accomplished right now.

King’s Island 1974 & ‘75. We drive from Northern Indiana and stayed in Cincy, and spent a couple days at the park. It was Hanna-Barbera-themed (as shown in an episode of the Brady Bunch). To toddler me, it legitimately felt like I had gone to live inside my TV for a day. I even met the Banana Splits! My first brush with fame.
-
There was a flume/dark ride where you literally rode a little boat into an enormous, building-sized television set. All manner of cartoon characters were in there.
-
JRand, I have to imagine you spent some time at Indiana Beach at some point?
-
I remember going to see The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, etc. Somewhat scandalous in it’s day.

Yes, and if the 1938 is correct, he was around 13.

Let's see if I've got this straight about the YouTube stuff:
What we're subscribed to is the haineshisway channel...which covers all the videos.
And what we like is each video, individually.
Is this correct?
That's been my understanding and is how I've proceeded. But I think I hear people saying it in different ways, and I want to make sure I have everything covered.

Jrand, the like thing is the thumbs up icon.

We open one week from tonight.

I’ve Neither read nor watched 50 shades or the sequels
-
Where is everyone tonight?
I just got home.
-
I had posters printed for TAO's next show (The Mystery Plays), then I got a sub from Jersey Mike's (The Club Sub (https://www.jerseymikes.com/menu/cold-subs/8-club-sub)), then I went shopping at Trader Joe's for my sister, then I came home. :)
-
For some reason the subtitles keep shutting off and need to be turned back on.
How strange! :-\
-
It’s silly and fun. A prude becomes obsessed with a milk billboard showing the luscious Anita Ekberg.
How very interesting. I recall a Nino Rota composition that translated to "Drink More Milk"...could it be from that film??
Update: No, Bevete Piu Latte (Drink More Milk) was written for "Bocaccio 70"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWwl0aJ3wkE
That’s it!
I thought you had found a Fellini film I had never heard of. Didn't realize it was the alternate title of "Bocaccio 70".
It’s an anthology film. Four directors. I’m watching it over three or four nights. Tomorrow is a Visconti story.
-
Slept through one terrible movie, and watched one interesting movie.
-
I do not understand how we're on page six.
-
That is called regression and I find it regressive.
-
Good night, all.
-
Let's not be possessive of the regressive.
-
Let's not be obsessive about the regressive.
-
Let's just get the HELL off this damn page.
-
Or it will result in rage.
-
The Facebook algorithms are working their ASSES off to make sure no one sees the posts about Outside the Box OR Tonight's the Night. Normal number of likes for even the most middling of posts I do that have no links - fifty to one hundred. Number of likes for Outside the Box today? Three.

For some reason the subtitles keep shutting off and need to be turned back on.
How strange! :-\
And annoying.

I need to go to Trader Joe's for their marinated artichoke hearts.
-
Keith did Wordle in two today :)

I went to your Facebook page and liked the posts about Outside the Box. I hope it helps.
-
'night
-
It all helps.
-
Page six, on the other hand, does not help.
-
So, where's George?
-
Down some damn rabbit hole?
-
Out with Sherry stuffing his face again?
-
Sherry kind of looks like my choreographer, Cheryl Baxter.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
So get me off this damn page.
-
Having a salad for my greens.
-
Keith did Wordle in two today :)
Congrats to Keith!
-
So, where's George?
Well, I wasn't able to order the large poster (36x48), so I'm trying to order it online right now.
-
The website is VERY slow. :P
-
Out with Sherry stuffing his face again?
No, and her name is Shelly. :)
-
I was FINALLY able to order the big poster.
-
The website said that it would take 3 to 10 days. ::)
-
Hopefully, I'll get it sooner rather than later.
-
I was asked to order it last week, but with Pride weekend and the 4th holiday, it slipped my mind. ::)
-
But it's been ordered now.
-
I also was able to get 11x17 posters printed, and I dropped them off at the theater tonight.
-
I also ordered business card sized posters with a QR code for ticket information.
-
They knew that that would take a week or so, but not that the big poster wouldn't be able to be printed at the store.
-
So sleepy…
-
Eyes can’t stay open…
-
I can however
-
Get us to post 200
-
Only 9 more (after this post) until we hit Page Eight!
-
PUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I can't think of something to post about. :-\
-
Or, should that be, about which to post?
-
;)
-
This is poster of the next TAO show:
-
That's the full cast.
-
The fact that one actor is "faded" is actually a plot point. ::)
-
I don't remember why, but I'll find out next month.
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
WHEW!!
-
Gratuitous Post #212!!
-
Well, shucky darn...Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene removed from US House Freedom Caucus -Politico (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/republican-marjorie-taylor-greene-removed-from-us-house-freedom-caucus-politico/ar-AA1dwMm0?OCID=ansmsnnews11)
:)) :)) :))
-
I wrote Shelly and it came out Sherry.
-
I knew it was Shelly.
-
Take it up with my fingers.
-
And my being overtired.
-
Page eight. We should be on page ten, but noooooo...
-
Did George go down some damn rabbit hole?
-
We should be posting up a damn storm.
-
And yet...
-
Major rant in the notes.
-
One simply must every now and then.
-
As well as then and now.
-
What?
-
Did someone say something?
-
I was sure I heard murmuring.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
And you, too, can now read them and those who've attended the Evelyn Wood Speed-reading School can read them very fast.
-
George, the disappearing rabbit.
-
He come, he goes, like Grand Hoel.
-
Hotel, not Hoel. Hoel is almost my brother's name.
-
I wrote Shelly and it came out Sherry.
Maybe a bad case of auto-correct??
-
Shouldn't page nine be around here somewhere.
-
Paging page nine.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
Never!!
