I slept badly, very badly. I think it was mostly due to the heat, but I was restless, unable to get comfortable, and awake too much of a night I thought would never end.

I, too, slept less than well.  I blame rhinitis.

I was sleeping well, for about an hour, and then woke up and had a sneezing fit.

Then my nostrils felt irritated and wonky.

I sneezed many times through the night.  Could not wear my CPAP.

And I am up way too early, and still sneezing, blowing my nose, etc.

That's what I get, I reckon, for several straight days of non-issues.

Are any of us using Threads?

I see that I have it, automatically, via my Instagram account.

I get that I can scroll through all the things my Instagram friends have posted.

Every other item appears to be advertising.

And I haven't a clue how to post to Threads if I should ever want to.  I see that I can comment, just as I can on Instagram. 

Not sure this has a "twitter" vibe to it yet, or not.

The Nervous Set

The newest of those is from 1959, which means they would most likely never get produced, even in a reading.

I’m way late for it already, but just for fun I’m going to go out and walk through the first of the big library book sales of the season. I haven’t gone to one since before the pandemic, which is a fairly stunning admission. I used to live for these things. In theory, I still do, but I’ve made a concerted effort to not fall back into the acquisitive habit.

I just listened to the bootleg of the Theatre du Chatelet production of Sweeney Todd, with my friends Rodney Gilfry and Caroline O'Connor in the leads. Turns out my friend David Abell conducted it. It was really quite wonderful. I wish I'd seen it.

Watching Where the Spies Are with David Niven being his charming self and Francoise Dorleac being gorgeous. As Bk has written about her in the past, she was Catherine Deneuve’s older sister and costar in The Young Girls of Rochefort.

Too bad the movie is a little too much of its era (1966). It wants to be breezy and serious at the same time.

I am a CHESS fanatic.

Have seen at least 6 productions, one concert (Actors Fund- fantastic), and I love the rehearsal videos for the pre-Broadway production that never came to New York, but had a few performances at The Kennedy Center.

I subscribed to Max today.

There are some extraordinary programs within that subscription.

i have watched five of the first season episodes of "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" which aired on ABC in the late 1990s.  I enjoyed the show then, all four seasons, and am enjoying it once again. 

I then watched "A Room With A View", one of the all-time great films of my lifetime.  Great to me, at any rate.

Lunch with Marshall was fun but Barone's was a big disappointment today - not bad, but the chef or chefs were clearly overworked - there was a big birthday party of forty people, plus the other diners, plus us. It took a really long time to get our main course, and on my Diet Coke refills the guy kept bringing me regular coke. I had to flag our waitress down to finally get the Diet. I had my carbonara, which had never been less than perfect, but today's was literally swimming in sauce and drowning the pasta and other ingredients.

Not that these would really be a good idea for a season, but I'd choose musicals and their sequels.  I'd start with Annie, and then Annie Warbucks (they could have the same cast), and then The Boy Friend, then its sequel, Divorce Me, Darling (these would require two separate casts, ten years apart in age).  Each pair could be done in rep. :)
