Well, you've read the notes, the notes were late, late, and now it is time for you to post until the late, late cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AGOG!
-
Simply agog.
-
I am agog!
I am aghast!
Is Marius in love at last?
;D
-
Today, the family is going to my mom's for spaghetti and (most likely) Phase 10 playing...as usual.
-
My friend Shelly has some foodstuffs that she no longer wants, so I'll bring it with me to see if my mom might want some (frozen ground hamburger meat, so my sister certainly won't) and something else that I forget.

Oh, no! :-\
Washington state wildfire threatens homes, farms, gas pipeline (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/washington-state-wildfire-threatens-homes-farms-gas-pipeline/ar-AA1edFrZ?OCID=ansmsnnews11).
-
And now, time for sleep.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I stayed up late, 11:00p.m., and I doubt that I got more than five hours sleep between my usual pains and three cats.
-
I did have a most unusual dream, although some things about it are now fading. I dreamed I was working in England for some duration. There was a letter that was being sent to me that I had to deliver to actress Eileen Atkins, since I was working on whatever with her. The government official I was dealing with about the letter was William Modrow, the librarian in charge of my collection and the gentleman running Special Collections for Miami University Library. Then things get vague for a bit, something about where I was staying and the wok location. Then I was walking through a field with Eileen Atkins and we came to a small wilderness where we saw a rather large bird. Then I started pointing to various trees and telling Ms Atkins about my childhood there and how I climbed them to get away from my brothers and an occasionally angry father.
When I woke, I realized the field was my neighbors back yard at 3005 Goldman Avenue, and the small wilderness was the Lopane farmland behind their yeard.
-
Today I will begin ballet No. 33. I hope I can find time to make shrimp salad, something I've intended to do now for the past three weeks.
-
DR Jrand 72, best of luck with today's casting. I'm very happy your show had a good run.
-
DR vixmom, I'm also very happy that Steve had a good birthday, but I think that every day with you is a holiday.
-
Very enterprising!

~~~AUDITION VIBES~~~ this afternoon for DR Jrand72 and crew!!!
Second combination, facing away from the mirror...
Listening to Julie Andrews's first album, "Julie Andrews Sings," (1958) which has just become available for streaming.
Good Sunday, y'all!
-
The day looks to be another hazy, humid day. High around 90. Current temp is 78.
Our AQI is 38. A gully washer of a storm passed through here night before last and took a lot of the Canadian smoke out of the air. There was quite a bit of damage among the town's trees as limbs crashed into houses and cars and littered yards. No one was hurt, but property damage was recorded. Happily, no damage in my yard this go-around.
We expect moderate thunderstorms this evening.
I watched several episodes of "Fringe" last night. The show is really incredible. Even though the so-called "fringe science" isn't real, it treats it as though it could be.
One episode still puzzles me. A shape shifter from a different dimension has orders to kill Olivia Dunham. He uses a small device to do his shifting. A cord on one end is inserted into the mouth of his victim, and a cord on the other side is inserted into his own mouth. A flip of the switch starts the process and he takes on the very image of the person he has just taken down.
In the troublesome episode, an FBI agent has confronted this shape shifter who has assumed the form of a nurse. He shoots her. The scene cuts away to two other agents running toward where the shots came from. When they arrive, they see the other agent standing over the body of the nurse. They also find the device that the shape shifter uses to shift.
The next scene indicates that the nurse was recovering and remembered nothing. The scene shifts to the FBI agent who shot her, and he removes a body from a bin and carries it to a furnace. The body is that of the FBI agent, and we are to assume the carrier is the shape shifter.
Since shifting was a one-on-one procedure, I cannot fathom how they managed to get a third person into it. The nurse survived. The real agent is dead. And the shifter is portraying that agent.
It's really the first misstep in presenting illogical situations logically. My thoughts are that they felt they needed that last scene to let the audience know that the real agent was dead and the object of the shape shifter's actions. But, what about that nurse???
Oh, well. It's ONLY a televison show.
-
Good morning I must hurry to church and then to the train and then to the play
-
And that was the summation of my Saturday evening, other than the fact that I finished off a key lime pie.
Sigh.
-
But first a Wordle
-
I will refrain from being agog, but may assume the manner of being aghast and agape.
Good Sunday morning everyone! There's a new Broadway Radio Show now up on this wonderful site. On this episode, we are putting together the score of Lerner & Loewes's CAMELOT using 4 different cast recordings, including the latest Broadway revival, which is closing today. Even with all its script problems, Camelot does have a lavish score. Check it out:
In short, there's simply not
A more congenial spot.
DR VIXMOM is singing Get Me To The Church On Time.....or as it's sung in Indiana - mostly - GIT Me To The Church On Time.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Listening to the Broadway Radio Show and enjoying me some Camelot.
She has a hitch in her GITalong.
Whatever my dream was, it’s gone now but it seems to have been basically benign.
It’s too hot. Already.
Earnest last night wasn’t just good. It was stupendous. I am remiss in not having attended any Valley Shakespeare Festival productions before this one, but said remissibilitude ends now.
-
Listening to Julie Andrews's first album, "Julie Andrews Sings," (1958) which has just become available for streaming.
I've had that CD for years, and I absolutely love it.
-
Doug just sent me the copied full score and mp3 file of the dread ballet No. 30, which I was convinced would have to be redone. I cannot believe how wonderful it is! Freeze it.
JRand found out what happens when Going Wrong goes wrong. Congrats on a solid run though!
Variety or one of those had a Martin Brest interview just last week. Pretty weird that Gigli was such a killer with the success he’s had, but he also seemed to lean into the recluse thing on his own.
-
Turns out with air shows, as impressive as the flying stunts are, you see one plane loop around a bunch, you’ve seen ‘em all. And we got bored after an hour.
-
And that’s…. the rest of the story.
Good day.
-
DR Vixmom I am glad no one hit the brownie.
-
I am also glad you explained that should have been hot. I must still be groggy this morning as I didn't figure it out on my own.
-
Best of all, the brownie was a hit with Vixdad :)
-
From George:
I have the first four seasons on Blu-ray, but it looks like seasons 5 and 6 are only available in a 6-season pack, AND seasons 5 and 6 are only on DVD, NOT Blu-ray!
That has got to be annoying.
While I never read the Expanse novels, we enjoyed the series.
The books are very good. I highly recommend them.
-
We went out for lunch and then drove around Lake Minnetonka - about a half hour from where we live. Lots of folks out boating. One section of shoreline is called "the Gold Coast," where many large multi-million dollar mansions are located. It was a lovely afternoon excursion.
-
Oh - we also stopped at Adele's Frozen Custard. The best around.
-
And yet, that news didn't even take us to page four.
-
Or even close.
-
What gives?
-
What does one have to do to get a post around here?
-
The books are very good. I highly recommend them.
I would probably enjoy them, however, I simply have too many books to read.
Right now I am rushing to finish read the William Kent Krueger Collection #4.
-
In the past I would have read one novel at a time, returning the book until a later date. Now I worry the library will have to pay for it again if I don't complete the three book collection.
-
To add stress to reading all three close to each other in the allotted time, I am reading a different book in-between each novel.
-
I am currently reading the second novel in the collection, having read a 550 page book after the first novel.
-
Maybe next time I will choose a shorter book to read in-between ;D
-
Back to reading.
DR elmore3003, really really good news about the ballet.
Tipsy Tippi tippling trouble.
Just futzed and finessed over seventy pages, with eight more to go before I do new writing, although before futzing and finessing I wrote two new pages, so another five to eight will do me fine, then I'll send all that to Muse Margaret.
Hope DR vixmom had a great theater-going experience this afternoon.
And that DR John G.'s plants finally got some much-needed rain.
-
Good night, friends.
-
I had emails, texts, and calls to respond to.
-
'night
-
I’m back to The Man Who Would Be King. John Huston in full David Lean mode complete with a wonderful Maurice Jarre score.
-
The play was wonderful
-
It started with a pre-play about 15 minutes before showtime with various members of the ensemble out in the audience interacting with patrons in character as their actor charactersm not their play characters
-
If that makes sense
-
The audience was in good form as well
-
During the opening curtain speech the assistant, uh “co” director suggested we should “boo” Captain Hook ( played by the ‘director)
-
The audience took it to heart and booed with great vigor
-
Captain Hook kept shouting at the audience “be quiet” ‘stop that” “stop booing” “SHUT UP!!!”
-
At one point , while standing directly in front of a sitting Peter Pan he asked “where’s Peter Pan?”
-
A lady in the audience ( who was sitting directly in front of us) shouted out “behind you”
-
We assumed she was a plant, but it turned out we bumped into her later and she is simply a fan who had already seen the show 4 times before
-
After she shouted he yelled at her to be quiet and told her she was ruining the play
-
Then he said his line again which prompted the entire audience to shout “ behind you!”
-
That happened one more time before he stopped and gave us all a lecture about acting and lettin* things happen organically …we were rolling
-
After the show was over one of the cast gave a curtain speech thanking us for being there and saying they just had one more show at 7 tonight
-
Then he thanked us for being a great , and particularly vocal audience which caused several of the actors to start laughing
-
It really was wonderfully funny
-
It is heading to the west coast for a run in a couple of weeks . I highly recommend it
-
Vixdad had a fine time
-
New York, New York is closing. No surprise. But it’s still sad the show was such a mess. I guess Stroman isn’t one to rescue a show from mediocre writing.
-
After the show we went to the stage door and all the actors came out and all of them signed every offered program and posed for selfies with whomever asked
-
The play sounds great, Vixmom.
-
They were very lovely
-
After that, since we were on 47th and 8th we walked up to 49th where we were able to get a table for two at my beloved Lillian’s Victorian Emporium.
-
Our seats in relation to the stage
-
Peter Pan and Trevor before the show
-
Angel Face, an Otto Preminger flick with a Dmitri Tiomkin score, is up next. Robert Mitchum, Jean Simmons, Herbert Marshall, Leon Ames and Jim Backus. Should be fun.
-
DR JOHN G I like Angel Face.....especially the car scene....both of them.
-
Congrats to DR ELMORE.
DR ELMORE your dream is quite a mix of past and present which usually means a prediction for your future......an expected communication will arrive at last and information about a past event will make the present much clearer to you.
-
I loved reading about DR VIXMOM's experience with PPGW......and seeing the photos.
-
One does begin to wonder if vixmon will EVER get back to reading Preview Harvey, oh, yes, one wonders. :)
-
Futzing and finessing is finished, I've done six new pages today in addition to lots of additions. I may try for two more later. Meanwhile - Page six my ASS.
-
Oh did I mention the Vixter and Vixhubby video called yesterday?
-
They sent this shirt for Vixdad’s birthday and wanted to see him open it
-
Vixdad went to university to be a chemical engineer
-
From her earliest days in school he would ask her if she had “done any science”
-
And announce “I like science!”
-
I digress
-
Or explain
-
Or give a little background
-
Anyway…the shirt
-
Ginny, Laura, Jane….looks like I’m joining your ranks!!!
-
I was thinking of advancing to page seven
-
But I know how BK abhors page seven
-
Ack!
-
Sorry Bruce!
-
I can delete a few posts and get us back to six if you’d like
-
Oh dear, oh dear , what to do
-
Well I must get up extra early tomorrow
-
I need to be at the mechanic by 730 so they will do my oil change while I wait
-
So I guess I’ll go to bed
-
Sorry about the dreaded page 7 BRuce
-
Perhaps you can move it on to eight
-
But here’s one last post
-
Ginny, Laura, Jane….looks like I’m joining your ranks!!!
Congratulations!
-
Laundry isn’t finished. Ugh.
-
It’s still drying.
-
Even in this heat, chicken pot pie sounds wonderful.
-
We’re having a cool front apparently. It’s only getting up to 100 or 101 for the next five days. Then a drop to 98.
-
Good night, all.
Congratulations to Vixmom and Science Grandpa and the Victor herself!!
It was fairly simple spaghetti and meat sauce for me and my mom and Larry, and vegan sauce for my sister and niece.
MRS. LOVETT:
Seems a downright shame...
-
TODD:
Shame?
-
LOVETT:
Seems an awful waste...
Such a nice, plump frame
Wot's 'is name has...
Had...
Has!
Nor it can't be traced...
Bus'ness needs a lift,
Debts to be erased...
Think of it as thrift,
As a gift,
If you get my drift!
No?
Seems an awful waste...
I mean, with the price of meat
What it is,
When you get it,
If you get it...
-
TODD:
HAH!
-
LOVETT:
Good, you got it!
-
Take, for instance, Mrs. Mooney and her pie shop!
Bus'ness never better using only pussycats and toast!
And a pussy's good for maybe six or seven at the most!
And I'm sure they can't compare as far as taste!
-
TODD:
Mrs. Lovett, what a charming notion
LOVETT:
Well, it does seem a waste...
-
TODD:
Eminently practical
And yet appropriate as always!
LOVETT:
It's an idea...
-
TODD:
Mrs. Lovett, how I've lived
Without you all these years, I'll never know!
How delectable!
Also undetectable!
-
Page eight.
-
LOVETT:
Think about it!
Lots of other gentlemen'll
Soon be comin' for a shave,
Won't they?
Think of
All them
Pies!
TODD:
How choice!
How
Rare!
-
At least we got that far.
Page nine. At least we got that far.
