Well, you've read the notes, the notes were like elevator music, and now it is time for you to post until the Clebanoff cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: COMPOSURE!
-
Topic of the Day: growing up, I never really listened to Easy Listening music. I know my parents had some, but it wasn't what I was interested in. As an adult, I've heard quite a bit and have enjoyed what I've heard, but I don't remember which specific recordings I've enjoyed. ::)
-
Just had the expected computer crash. This time, we went longer than usual without the crash, so that was good. I can always tell exactly when it's going to happen. If I'm listening to music and click on something else the music cuts out then continues - and a minute later we're crashed. Everything's back up and running now.
-
A few days ago, a theater friend who is working at Lakewood Playhouse messaged me, asking if I would be interested in stage managing any of their shows. I explained that I had very little experience stage managing, but would be more interested in running their light or sound board, especially since I've never worked with them before.
-
She said that they do need board operators, but would I like to meet and discuss? I said okay, so we're going to meet today at the Starbucks in front of the Tumwater Fred Meyer. I think they must be kind of desperate if they're asking me!
-
She did tell me that they pay! I haven't been paid for any kind of tech before, so that's something to consider, but if I'm inexperienced, I don't feel comfortable getting paid...but if I accept the job, I'll accept the money. ;)
-
Notes imbibed. Survived.
-
Take the money!
-
Take the money!
We're going to discuss...but I'm certainly leaning towards it. Also, I have several stage manager friends who can advise me, AND Erin said that they have people who can help, too. :)

Good morning, all!
-
I am dressed and moving about, the cats and I have had our breakfast, and I want to go back to bed for another hour. Instead I must finish preparing the five Fed Ex for pickup today. I expected Mario to help me, but he cannot make it today. Since I am anxious to get these cartons out of the apartment, I'll manage.
-
I keep getting emails from "Amazon," claiming that my Amazon Prime membership payment has failed. Since I keep daily tabs on my online bank account and Amazon charges, I delete the emails.
-
I'm on No. 34 now, and I hope I can finish it today.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Take the money!
And run!
-
Or manage.
-
I loved Percy Faith’s albums of show music, especially Do I Hear a Waltz?, Kismet and Subways Are for Sleeping.
-
Frank DeVol was wonderful too. I also enjoyed his playing a twisted version of himself on Fernwood 2Night/America 2Night.
-
Congratulations to George on the stage manager offer.

Good morning, friends.

WHERE THE HELL IS THE STAGE MANAGER?

Anyway….

I remember a dream in which I was waiting tables (I have never been a waiter in real life). My table of four was very unhappy with their soup course.
-
The chef sent out a complimentary cheese tray, but they were still not mollified.
-
The ingrates.
They were very rude, too.

Thursday morning greetings! I’ve spent the past 2 days weeding bookshelves, so today we have a carload to take to the AAUW sale site.
-
DR ChasSmith, thanks for the report on yesterday’s mail. That was very fast delivery - I’d just mailed it on Monday! Hope for a similar report from DR John G soon.

I have moved the cartons into the foyer, so all I do now is wait for the Frd Ex pickup.
-
Good morning, all.

Four (count 'em) dreams last night and early this morning, on mostly common themes but, as always, variations on same, and this time they all kind of melded together even though I believe they were actually separate dreams:
A musical gig that had to be hiked to in some wooded hills, that led into a new theme of some natural healthy form of food. Then a work dream referring back to the former day job but a variation on it that hasn't come into focus. Finally, some destination or another gig or something that we (?) had to drive to, in a more open but hilly territory and I was afraid for my car's ability to handle it. Oy! Just wake me up, please!
-
Breakfast:
Time to shop. Used up the cream cheese on two slices of toast with a healthy sprinkle of everything bagel seasoning. Delicious. And three (3) cups of coffee, which I will no doubt be required to begin paying back sometime soon.
-
DR singdaw you are correct there are no horns in Morning's @ Seven.
-
She said that they do need board operators, but would I like to meet and discuss? I said okay, so we're going to meet today at the Starbucks in front of the Tumwater Fred Meyer. I think they must be kind of desperate if they're asking me!
I think that your reputation has spread and they believe you might just do a terrific job. Expand your talents, George. Stage managing is daunting, but very rewarding.
-
I keep getting emails from "Amazon," claiming that my Amazon Prime membership payment has failed. Since I keep daily tabs on my online bank account and Amazon charges, I delete the emails.
Absolutely delete them! I get them, too, but my prime membership always renews automatically in February and uses the same info all my other purchases use.
Made no sense to me the first time I got one of those e-mails when all my orders were going through just fine!
-
TOD:
I loved Mantovani and some of the others named. Additionally, I loved some of the 101 Strings albums...
...and then there were the Stanley Black "Film Spectacular" albums!!

At least they were varied.
Last night I slept well, but...my dreams had me shopping for meat and being disturbed because I could only find one-sided meat....in other words, I couldn't cook it on both sides because all the meats were one-sided.
I don't EVEN want to know what that was about.
-
DR singdaw you are correct there are no horns in Morning's @ Seven.
But...the horn does blow at midnight...does it not?
-
Well I wasn't shopping for meat.....but I was in WalMart getting some water for the fridge at the theeder.....and there was a package of a dozen Tyson chicken drumsticks.
Today was the sell by date.....and they were only $5.26 - so I bought them and they are now baked cooling on top of the range.....so I won't have to cook anything else for the weekend.
-
Good golly! It's Thursday. The work week is nearly over!
It's beautiful outside. There are about 30 geese rambling along the pond shore in my yard.
Temperature is currently 87 degrees. High is expected to be 92.
AQI is 44.

-
DR John I liked The Black Arrow and am glad I read it. I was also glad it was a short book.
-
I read Don Quixote years ago. I wonder what I would have thought of The Black Arrow had I read it back then.
-
In some ways history of The Black Arrow would have been fresh, maybe more interesting when I was young. I would say the depth of the book and the message might be clearer now.
-
From George:
I love it! I have to send this to my sister! :))
It is a good one ;D (they cat that bullies)
-
From DR Singdaw:
We will now be able to travel to visit her in 20 minutes, instead of 2.75 hours.
That is much, much better. Vibes the move goes well and she is pleased with the extra visits.
-
Change is very hard, especially at 91.
-
Sending hugs and good vibes to DR Iris.

I got up late this morning. I'll have to finish catching up later today.

The play is called Incorruptible (http://michaelhollinger.com/wp/index.php/incorruptible/) by Michael Hollinger, and it sounds like it's going to be real fun.

Both, but maybe "desperate" wasn't the correct word.

They're probably trying to get the tech staff in place as soon as possible, and maybe they haven't been able to get people as early in the process this time as they have in previous seasons.

I’ve been attempting to take this week as staycation. I say attempting, because whenever I try to do so something comes up that requires my time and attention. So far no crises. I’d hoped to do quite a bit of culling. I did do some, just not as much as I’d hoped. I’m afraid I’m a pack rat by nature. I’ve been busy all day today with little things. Where does all this stuff come from? The week has been a lot of stay, but not much cation.

The hot weather hasn’t helped.

-
- Nolan's "Oppenheimer" fails to highlight the women who helped make the Manhattan Project possible.
- Women worked across the Project, including as explosion techs, librarians, and hematologists.
- Several went on to shape their fields later in their careers, with one even winning a Nobel Prize.

So I shall.

Today, my friend Shelly and I did a little shopping at a local grocery store called SPUDS.
-
I don't know qhy it's called that, but they have some nice (but pricy ::) ) stuff.
-
Not all of it's pricy, so that's good, but it's only about a mile away from where we live, so there's that.

I only got a couple small Tony's Chocolonely (https://tonyschocolonely.com/us/en) chocolate bars.

And here we are, still on page nine. Lesson learned, stay off the damn recliner.
