Well, you've read the notes, the notes were catfished, and now it is time for you to post until the catfished cows come home.

Good morning, all.

And here we are again, with a Friday that feels 100% like a Saturday.
Kristi and Nathan are home and leaving for Mystic CT in a couple of hours to meet up with some friends for the weekend, so it’s completely like a Saturday morning here.
-
Me, I have to work on some music, pick up other music, run a couple of errands, and — finally — get me to the outdoor theeder to see my friends’ Music Man this evening. It closes tomorrow night, and in three weeks this has been my best chance, weather wise and schedule wise, to get over there.
-
Sunday, FINALLY, this infernal voice student recital that has been in the works since - oh, I’d say, the Eisenhower administration - will happen, and life will return to a semblance of normal for a bit.
-
Went to bed around 11ish fell right off, woke around 3 pm for a nature call and then lay in bed what felt like HOURS before I could get back to sleep while my brain rehashed everything I ever saw, read, did, said, heard in my life.
But I refused to do my usual , go to the recliner and surf the web, so eventually I did drift off…and slept through the alarm.
So I need to get going .
Have a great day all!

Goodness graciousI It's Friday again!!!
My grass was cut six days ago. It needs cutting right this very minute, but it will have to wait until Denny drives by and sees it. He checks every eight to 10 days. The rains have fallen and fallen and fallen, so the grass keeps getting encouragement.
-
One great thing about today being Friday (that a retiree will appreciate, that is):
It's catfish day at Third Generation restaurant. That isn't the same as "catfishing", happy to say.
You can have your catfish baked or fried. And they always have grits as a side if you want. I always do.

I woke up at 7:15 this morning, but I just couldn't get out of bred.
Next thing I knew, it was 9:27 a.m.
Am groggy still. Have not made my coffee or had any type of morning food product. Yes, I have blueberry muffins, but my mind is trending toward a Jimmy Dean sausage/egg/cheese biscuit.
I know the muffin would be better for me, but it's Friday. Nutrition and common sense can just #suckit.
(For those who don't know where that hashtag comment came from, it was stated on national TV by one Miss Cate Blanchett when she won her last Oscar).

I have never watched the TV revisal of The Music Man., so at this point it's probably best that I leave well enough alone.
To my knowledge, those aren't generally available for licensing anyway, and thank the ye gods for that. But I'm sure there are instances where less than scrupulous directors will insert a line or routine or foist some aspect of a revisal on their local adoring audiences. I didn't see the Jackman/Sutton revisal either, but I'll keep my eyes and ears attuned for any little thing that seems amiss.
-
The last time, the big stone was 5.1 centimeters...NOT millimeters. It was larger than a golf ball.
-
Hell, what am I saying? I can state with absolute certainty that there are less than scrupulous directors (and their music directors, who are usually reluctant accomplices) who shamelessly copy dancing and transcribe revised dance music ... such as, for instance, the rewritten Waiters Galop from the recent Dolly! revival. It's a wonder to me that these things get performed not one hundred miles from the city and somehow escape the notice of the licensing agencies. A lot of people get away with a lot of crap.

Hi, Laura!
-
If ya'll want to watch something fun, watch some of the Horrible Histories songs. One of them came up as suggested for me on Youtube at the time of Charles III's coronation.
Horrible Histories is a kids' show from the UK that left the juicy parts in the telling of history. Lots of fun stuff.
My favorites are The Four Georges, King Richard III, and George IV's solo. And of course, Stupid Deaths.
-
Three!

Great tip; thanks, DR Laura!

Good Morning - we are up. Late night last night as we started viewing "Rebecca" on Netflix quite late. I have tickets to the first English language performance of the musical in London in October and I wanted to get a handle on the story. I'm glad I did. It's a good story.
Today - work to do on the computer for work - no need to go in. There will no doubt be a quick bike ride and then we are back to Bright Star for weekend #2

DR Matthew I hope DD Leo is ok today after eating the trash. I wonder how long it takes before you no longer notice the post-it reminder when you leave home ;)

Will there be a band? How many players?
You flatter them, sir. This venue is small, and they're lucky to cram a few players into the band tent. I think I heard that for this show they've got 1 trumpet, 1 trombone, 1 reed, 1 violin, bass, drums, piano/conductor.
I was just told that they're planning on constructing a real band pavilion in another year or so. Don't know what kind, or how large. But they've just rebuilt their rather large stage since the original one from the mid-1980s finally got wiped out in a storm a couple of years ago. And that was a blessing, that it got sufficiently damaged to be replaced. It was long overdue. But they've got the city's attention better than before, and it's good to see things starting to happen.
-
So, the four stops I had to make, that should have taken me an hour and a quarter, took more than TWICE that long. Road work and much more are to blame, and I am so glad to be back home. I only have to go to the show tonight, and literally the entire day tomorrow is mine. Which I desperately need.
-
I'm up, I'm up - seven hours of sleep.

I got a lovely private message from a nice fellow on Facebook that he loved Preview Harvey and will be writing a review. He said he did find an error - that The Dirty Dozen was a UA film, not MGM. I responded without checking that I was surprised none of us caught that but that MGM and UA are very confusing these days. But it bothered me all day because I NEVER EVER make mistakes like that - and - I didn't. Of course it was an MGM film. I sent him the newspaper ad.
-
Except we did. I misread his PM - we got The Great Escape wrong as an MGM movie - it's UA.
-

I feel the same way as you, and definitely preferred the first season.
Totally don’t get the love for Jennifer Coolidge, and found her character insufferable.
Were you surprised by the way each series ended?
Oh, yeah! All through each season, I wondered just who the deceased character would be. For those reading this but don't know, each season starts with an anonymous death, and then goes back in time to relate what happened. All the viewer can do is wonder and guess at who the victim will be. In each season, I was completely fooled.

Hello, everyone.

John G, my copy of Hanson’s Fade-out arrived the other day after a two-week wait. I thought I’d read a few pages just to get a taste and couldn’t put it down! The following day the new Rhys Bowen arrived and I couldn’t put that down, either. I’m reading the Bowen first, but was quite impressed with Hansen.
So nice to discover new authors! Especially so when they’ve published quite a few books.
Thanks for mentioning it.

A question for Jrand: is the planet experiencing some sort of weird vortex that is keeping us from getting things done? I’m slow these days to start with, but the smallest tasks seem to suck up way too much time. DR Chas mentioned something of the sort earlier, if I’m not mistaken. I’m busy, but little seems to get done.

Wow, I would have thought boiling water would be safe.
Officials warned residents in Kula and Lahaina who have running water that it may be contaminated and that they should not drink it and take only short, lukewarm showers “in a well-ventilated room” to avoid exposure to possible chemical vapors.
Until further notice, people should not drink the water even after boiling it, as hundreds of pipes have been damaged
-
I think I would be hesitant to take even a short shower.

It’s in direct sun. The other fig, which is mostly in the shade, looks livelier.
-
The peach tree looks sad, like a strong breeze could blow its leaves away.
-
I don’t know if the half-burned roses will make it.
-
All of which makes me think of Maui, which is so badly off.
-
And now The Last of Us.
-
On the positive side, the hydrangeas are looking good.
-
All of the plumbagos have blue flowers. I did keep some inside.
-
The hibiscus are flowering occasionally and are displaying a healthy green.
-
I still have parsley, oregano, thyme and purslane.
-
Fifteen pages. That's quite enough for today.
-
Are you sure?
-
Watching the controversial gay episode of The Last of Us. My guess is that it was controversial because the relationship was so normal.
-
My favorite song intro in a movie musical:
"Hold your breath...
"Make a wish...
"Count to three."
-
Good night, all.
-
Rest in peace, Linda Haynes, so good in a handful of movies she made before kinda disappearing. My fave: The Nickel Ride.
-
I’ve seen dent-repair places that specialize in hail repair, so insurance may direct you to that kind of body shop, Singdaw.
-
And I'm home.
-
Tonight's show went quite well.
-
We had maybe 13 or 14 people, and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
-
It is a pretty intense show, so it's not the same as enjoying a musical comedy, but a few people did give a standing O.
-
Better write some damn notes.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
See?
-
Novella, my gas(light)!

Singdaw, I’m sorry that your car was damaged.
That must have been quite a storm.
-
John G., sad to hear your garden is struggling.
Hope it will thrive again when the temperatures drop.
-
DR Ron, I was shocked by the endings of both seasons of The White Lotus.
Shocked, I tell you.
-
George, glad your night went well, and that the audience gave the show a standing ovation.
-
Sleepy.
Good,night, all.
😴

Hi Rodzinski!
Have a great weekend! 😊
-
The show tonight was good. At one point, someone kick a power strip and I had no power to my keyboard. Luckily, it was a piece where I wasn't missed as I was trying to figure out why nothing was happening. It turned out that the plug had been knocked out of the strip but still connected, it was barely out of its socket. I'm taking some duct tape to that tomorrow so it doesn't happen again. Everyone loves the show - as they should - it's a great show.
-
The theatre where we are doing Bright Star is auditioning tomorrow for their December show White Christmas - I may audition as I'm not the MD on this show. I haven't been on stage in a while, but I have several weeks of conflicts for other gigs I'm playing. I'll put them out there and will see what happens. I love the show and it would be fun to be on stage again.

Whew! Glad you figured out what happened fairly quickly, Matthew.

Cool! Break Legs if you audition!
