As I was taking the pasta out of the cupboard (folks, just so you know, I'm a heathen and have never made my own pasta), I spied a lonely plum tomato sitting in the bowl on the counter. Since we'd been talking all day about mac and cheese and I'd been remembering my mother's with tomato in it, I decided to cut this one up and just stir the fresh pieces into the bowl. Just to get that tomato-y taste thing going. And you know what? It was delicious. Just the cool (or room temperature) pieces of fresh tomato (which I'd already seasoned with fresh ground pepper and sea salt) stirred in with the hot buttered & herbed pasta. Absolutely delicious. You can expect a repeat on this one very soon.

Post by: elmore3003 on August 16, 2023, 10:14:56 AM: I am now Medicaid savvy and the staff and security at the Chinatown HRA office were friendly and very helpful. All went well: Access-a-Ride arrived on time to pick me up, and I had a lovely lady driver brig me back uptown. Staples still has photocopy/scanning issues that took more time than needed, but I got my tasks finished, and I am home.

Tomorrow our DR ChasSmith shows up, and I am looking forward to his visit.

After the haircut, I bought lunch at Park Row No. 1 (hot pastrami, potato salad and a dill pickle), also bought a cup of lobster bisque for my din-din.

Spent my afternoon watching youtube videos.

The Voice Portugal had a contestant named Fernando Daniel. He has an incredible voice, and he won his year. All his songs were sung in English, as it turns out, but his two albums are in Portuguese. His audition song was Adele's "When We Were Young". I have listened to Adele and others sing this song, but his version is my favorite. It's on several videos on youtube.

The Voice Germany has had a few "wow" singers, as well. One is Matthias Nebel, who sings "Bed of Roses" like there is no tomorrow.
