Well, you've read the notes, the notes were the notes that got away, and now it is time for you to post until the away cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PULCHRITUDINOUS!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept well until 2:30 or so. Then Stella began to pester me, and I had a hard time getting back to sleep. When I turned over later, Thatch was snuggled up next to me, and then Annabelle came down from her bookcase aerie to sleep on my pillow. I had several weird dreams, but the weirdest one featured BK, Liz Callaway, and Greg Jbara along with the CANDIDE song "What's the Use?"
-
This morning, Access-a-Ride will take me to Quest Diagnostics for my pre-op lab work. I will then pick up my new spectacles and go to Staples to scan ballet No. 39.
-
DR John G., have you ever made a savory tart, like this tomato tart, for example?
-
~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!!!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Yes, Singdaw. I have. I recall making a tomato, caper and anchovy tart before. And another with a slew of vegetables.
I followed the instructions carefully on both and ended up with enough veggies for three or four tarts.
-
One of the cookbooks was Irish, and vegetables in Europe are consumed much smaller than they are here. One of our bell peppers is about the size of three of theirs. And the thickness is greater too
~~~SAFE & EASY TRAVEL VIBES~~~ for DR elmore3003!!!
Ditto.

Got a biopsy this morning. Not looking forward to it. Thyroid.

TOD 1:
Promises, Promises. I think you’d have a groovy time staging Turkey Lurky Time — and the whole show.
-
A very happy heavenly birthday to Cindy Williams, born on this day in 1947 (and Valerie Harper in 1939).

A gracious good TUESDAY morning, all.
I know it is Tuesday, because it follows yesterday which was Monday.

I spent my afternoon and evening devouring "Downton Abbey". I am up to Season 5. This series was so very well done. Even though i have seen it all a couple of times, including first airing on PBS, I find it even richer now.
-
Have you seen both movies, DR Ron Pulliam?
-
:)
-
Will we ever see the end of page one?
-
I now wait on Access-a-Ride. If thetext I just received is correct, the car will be 15 minutes early. Well, we'll see.
-
Have you seen both movies, DR Ron Pulliam?
Once, each. Will watch both again when I finish the series.
-
Will we ever see the end of page one?
What's your rush? When we get to Page 2, it will still require 28 more posts to get to page 3.
-
Sigh...

Isn't it amazing how quickly this month has moved along? It's the 22nd.

Glad to hear that DR JANE is enjoying her trip.

Congratulations, California!
For the first time in three years, the state is no longer under "extreme drought" conditions.
And, happily, no California deaths have been attributed to Hurricane Hilary, which did not impact that state in any way that was feared.
-
And that the beginning of the school year is so promising for DR MATTHEW.
-
A free frosty!!!
-
DR ELMORE that was the first Far Side cartoon I ever noticed in the paper, and I became an instant fan.
-
Last night I watched most of the first act of the Scottish Candide that DR ELMORE wrote about yesterday.
I enjoyed it.....although everybody seemed too OLD for their parts....but maybe not from way out in the audience.
-
For the TOD I am tempted to say CANDIDE.....but instead I will say:
Newish: School of Rock
Classic: The Pajama Game
-
Today is a ME day....and it is HOT. We have a heat advisory for most of the state.
Tomorrow evening I shall be working in the box office at ANYTHING GOES! And then cleaning the theeder afterwards....and then THREE days OFF!
-
Hot here today, too, and the next few days. Anticipated heat index is 111. I know that's not unusual for some of our DRs, but for here it is.
-
Today is the mother-in-law's big MOVE day, so I will be mostly in absentia.

Dinner out with Keith was nice, and I found a nice reversible vest that was half off.

I have been wanting a black vest, and the other side is a fuzzy white with black shading, super soft and comfy.

New Randy Rainbow!
So brilliant!
-
What a good day this has been! Access-a-Ride was early, and the driver - both drivers, actually - was a saint, so helpful. They are rare drivers in the AAR company, I know. I got my lab work over, picked up my new glasses - I like them - and got to Staples and scanned my ballet score: four numbers to go!
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost seven hours of sleep.
-
I couple of people on Facebook were complaining that they now had 1400 bottles of water. The panic shopping was amazing. All blamable on the media's overhyping to get ratings. They knew exactly the two or three areas that were impacted, none of which affected major cities, but all the kept doing was showing flooding and mudslides, several of which were not even from this year. And then not begin specific about where those were taking place, just saying Southern California was being slammed.

Today is a ME day....and it is HOT. We have a heat advisory for most of the state.
Tomorrow evening I shall be working in the box office at ANYTHING GOES! And then cleaning the theeder afterwards....and then THREE days OFF!
I did not get a heat advisory, for some reason. When I left the house for the post office shortly after 3 p.m., I nearly had a stroke it was so hot.
And walking into the post office from the parking lot it felt like the sun was broiling my brain.
Golly! I don't believe I have ever experience such intense heat!
-
Surprisingly, we did not beat the all-time heat record today.
But we TIED it, we did!
It is 97 degrees in Johnston right now. Heat Index is 106.
Air quality: 52

The move is accomplished. We all worked very hard. I think overall it will be a very good thing, but understandably, the MIL is a bit overwhelmed.
-
I think she'll feel more at home once we can get some of her art up on the walls.
-
The staff at the new building were, every one of them, darling. Including the men.
-
This is a mix of independent living, assisted living (where we were), and memory care.
-
The apartment has lovely views of gardens and trees, and the amenities are amazing. I wouldn't mind living there myself!
-
I am glad I wasn't moving furniture. The heat index was 117.
-
MIL went down to her first communal meal, stating that perhaps she would have a little soup.
-
Post-dinner, she reported that she had soup, the hot entree, a salad, and a dessert.
-
And met three other very nice ladies at her table.
-
This facility does not have assigned seating for meals, which I found interesting.
-
But for the first week, they pair newcomers up with an "ambassador," a resident who takes them under their wing.
-
So overall, a very positive experience.
-
And I am pretty sure that I will never be able to afford to spend my last years in a setting anything close to this nice.
-
The MIL has a long term care insurance policy that pays for the entire thing. They don't even sell this kind of policy anymore.
-
:)
-
I am turning in. Exhausted.
-
Good night, friends.
-
So overall, a very positive experience.
That's wonderful, Singdaw.

Not sure why you feel the need to be snarky here. I see no disappointment/disgust in my post, nor did I say I felt cheated. My points were pretty simple and had NOTHING to do with me - it had to do with the media and the way they were reporting things, but if you didn't see that then you didn't see that. I said clearly it hit certain places and that's what the news should have said - named the SPECIFIC places, rather than being general and acting like it was everywhere in Southern California. That's why people were out panic shopping because there was no specificity.
I do apologize for the amazing number of typos in my post - I really do have to wear the old reading glasses and not try to post without them. Yikes.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
Proofing has been ongoing. I ran five things by Muse Margaret and she agreed on all five.
-
I had a little Marco's Pizza for food.
-
I'll go back to proofing in a moment and I should be halfway through by the time I have to write the notes.
-
Mom is not doing well. She can’t shake this bronchitis.
-
Her experience in assisted living sounds like Singdaw’s MIL. I hope it’s as good as hers has been.
-
She was an ambassador.
-
Today is World Jollof Rice Day. So, a friend treated us to a dinner of West African dishes, including jollof, peanut stew and plantains. Dessert was Mexican, a spice cake with rum-spiked whipped cream. She was just in the mood for it.
-
Gratuitous post 200!
-
I’m exhausted.
-
The rain gauge said I got .79 inch of water today.
-
That made me happy.
-
I’m sure it made some plants happy too.
-
I need to get some sleep.
-
But first …
-
Let’s get off this page!
-
Goodbye, seven
-
It’s been real.
-
Eight!
-
Good night, all.
-
Vibes and prayers for John’s mother
-
I’m falling asleep
-
So I’m off to bed
-
Good night
-
Mom is not doing well. She can’t shake this bronchitis.
Oh, no. :(
-
It’s been real.
It's been fun...but it ain't been real fun. ;D
-
I napped.
-
Which actually isn't a bad thing because I need to get up earlier than usual in the morning.
-
And why do I need to get up earlier than usual in the morning?
-
Let me tell you why I need to get up earlier than usual in the morning.
-
I have a dental appointment.
-
But not just any dental appointment. ::)
-
I have to have a cavity filled. :P
-
You napped. And you WILL be held responsible.
-
We need to get past this damn page.
-
I, evidently, have not been as diligent with my teeth brushing as I should've been, so a cavity formed and it needs to be filled.
-
But we won't.
-
Due to inactivity.
-
>:(
-
I wasn't sure WHAT to make of dear reader Ron's post to me.
-
It felt a little rude.
-
I know, I know...it's my fault, but still. ::)
-
And it wasn't accurate.
-
Maybe I read it wrong.
-
Or maybe he read my post wrong.
-
I have revealed the musical.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
Anyway, I'll get up earlier than I normally do and make sure that I get to my appointment by the 8:00 a.m. appointment time.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
Oh, look! It's Page Nine!!
-
Page nine.
