Well, you've read the notes, the notes had edible roots, and now it is time for you to post until the edible cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: OBSTREPEROUS!
-
Edible roots are the best kind of roots.
-
Does that include root beer?
-
Good morning, friends.

ASK BK:
Is this David Wechter collaboration something new, or a continuation of the previous collaboration?
-
I was curious about last night's debate, mostly about how many bashed the Orange Baboon, but by 9:00 I was comatose and the thought of having to turn to the Fox station only made me sick. The cats and I went to bed.
-
I slept well until the storms came in. At 5:30, when the alarm rang, it was still quite dark outside from the clouds.
-
I need to vacuum this morning before I can get to the ballet.
-
DR vixmom, I'm so sorry for your friend. When we recorded Dearest Enemy in Dublin in 2012. Stephen Rea wasset to record George Washington's role, but he had a horrible attack of shingles just before we recorded. The first week of recording, I wasn't sure if he could make it or not, and I kept wondering what to do if he canceled. Luckily, by our last day, he was well enough to come in and record the scene.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for Donna and for Vixmom. I was very sick after my second shingles shot.
-
Sorry about your mixer, George.
-
Thursday is now ASK BK DAY?
I am confused.
-
Anyway vibes for Donna and Shelly friends of friends of HHW.
-
Continued proofing vibes for MR BK and his new character even though I don't think that there is such a thing as a sentence that is too long because sometimes it takes a lot of words to completely say what you want to say and breaking it up by punctuation will make it unclear and be antithetical to what the author is trying to accomplish with the sentence so it's best to leave it alone if you can and I think you should.

DR JOHN G I liked The Servant, but I haven't seen it for awhile.
-
The theeder was cool last night and the audience enjoyed the show.
One man returned his Mountain Dew bottle to the box office and said it had expired....the date on the cap was indeed Aug 21, 2023.....he did not believe my explanation that that date was the date the beverage was bottled.
So, I gave him a bottle of water.

I hope he files a PayPal dispute.
-
I don't think Mountain Dew would ever expire - that particular combination of water, sugar, and various chemicals would probably be good for at least 50 years.
-
Sorry, DR George.
It sounds like sprockets are on the docket.

But look at the bright side: now you get to shop for a new mixer!

I would check my cap for an expiration date if I had the nerve to do so.
I truly don't wish to know, however.

What is it, fish?
-
Good morning, all.
-
It seems incredible when you stop to think about it, but I just stopped to think about it, and I honestly don't think I have ever eaten a turnip.
Does that seem weird? The word itself couldn't be more common, but is the thing itself all that common on dinner plates? Or whatever kind of plates a turnip usually finds itself on?
-
Good morning!

DR Ginny. I like the connections game too, but sometimes it's really difficult!
-
This talk of long sentences and of breathing reminds me of the little boy who always dressed wrong. He had a coat on his tongue and his breath came in short pants.
-
Today I must pick up a few things at the supermarket, and top off the tank for tomorrow's excursion to the Big Apple.
I've got my reservation at the parking garage and the alarm is set for getting up at a decent hour. I just need to get to sleep at a decent hour tonight. Let's not have any repeat of the ABS/insomnia I had two nights ago. That was bloody awful.
-
I also just remembered I need to do laundry today. Nothing critical, but it's a good day to do it. Should be just one load.
-
I don't think I posted about the bloody awful ABS/insomnia I had the other night.
No matter, and no biggie. I just laid there for half the night unable to stop the brain. Listening to the classical station didn't even get me to relax and zonk out to it. Well, it eventually did, but not till an ungodly hour.
-
It took me thirty minutes to vacuum the apartment, which is ridiculous given the size of my abode.
-
And I am off to the ballet, where I hear everything is beautiful.

A question for the class:
Who popularized the song that goes "Ohhh, the good life..."?
I know Tony Bennett sang it, but was there anyone else who was particularly known for it?

Good Morning - up early, ready to head out the door. First day in the classroom for Jr High Religion - music classes start next week. I have a quick wedding to play this afternoon - just a simple service. I have 2 weddings in the next month where the bride is someone I taught up in the school. Actually, I there's a kid in first grade that I actually taught her father 20+ years ago. It's when their grandkids start at my school I'll know its time to retire.

I was thinking possibly Paul Anka. But I was not even 1 year old at the time.

I asked my 7th graders today - Bible - Fact or fiction? (I teach in a Catholic School btw)
They have the weekend to come up with their answer. In 7th and 8th grade religion, I try and focus on the students and less what is in our book. I need religion to be a "thing" not another history class. We take our cues from the stories and such, but how does that apply to us? I hope to get them thinking.
-
Wow, I am very impressed you ask that question.
-
Good morning (barely).

I shall be interested in the answers DR MATTHEW.

I got my shingles shots a few years ago. I asked about it when I got my tetanus/diphtheria/whooping cough shot. (Grandparents are supposed to get it for the whooping cough portion so we don't accidentally infect the newborns.)
There was a shortage of shingles shots, because it was so new. I began asking about it in August (when I got the aforementioned shot), and I couldn't find one until April.
Vixmom, you'll probably feel crappy. You probably do already. But it won't last. I thought it was worse than the covid shot. The second one didn't bother me, though.
There's a new shot out for RSV, which old people should get. I expect I'll get it next month. If you'll be around newborns and small children, you should get it to keep from infecting them.
-
Thus endeth my immunization lecture.

New project. The other one just sits like so much fish due to the WGA strike.

The ONLY time I break up a long sentence is when I've switched to a separate subject and it becomes clearer when breaking it in two. Otherwise, I always leave them the way I wrote them.

I'm up, I'm up - eight and a half hours of sleep.

Absolutely. There really is no correct answer. It all comes down to what you believe in.

Sorry about your mixer, George.
Thanks, John. I don't know which kind I'm going to replace it with, but at least I don't need to right away.

That's great because it didn't land in any movie theatre in my area - I had to go to SF or down to Mountain View. I'm just not up for traveling that far for a movie.

Sorry, DR George.

Yup. It was bound to happen...eventually.

But look at the bright side: now you get to shop for a new mixer!
I know! I have seen a few over the years that are much spiffier (and hopefully, more durable) than the one that broke.

But I also don't want to spend $100 on a hand mixer!

I've seen some that expensive and more! :o

I don't know how often you use a mixer, George, but I recently informed my DH that when the day comes that I have worn out Kerry's Kitchen-Aid stand mixer, I'll be spending a few hundred dollars to replace it.
I have a feeling I bake more often than you do, though.
-
This morning I had lab work done in preparation for my annual checkup next week. I'm amazed that the results come in so fast these days. My DH's last results came in the same day.

We are deciding when to get the RSV, before we see Freyja or after.
-
Sorry DR Vixmom, but I wish you had gotten the pneumonia vaccination instead of the flu, not that I ever get two at the same time. We only get the flu vaccination this early if we have travel plans, otherwise we wait until the end of September. The CDC recommends getting it in September or October.

Yes, I rarely have used my hand mixer. A Kitchen Aid mixer, as cool as it would be, is just too much mixer for me.

Wow. The results are coming in.
Amazingly, I live in Arizona and I've been walking outside four miles every morning for years now. How can my vitamin D be low?

The iron stuff is kinda low. I asked the doctor about checking those things since I've been donating blood this last year.
Amazingly, I live in Arizona and I've been walking outside four miles every morning for years now. How can my vitamin D be low?
Sunscreen.
-
I really don't understand any of the iron numbers. So it's good we'll have this info when I go in.
We normally get our blood work done before we see the doctor. Good luck with the low iron. Getting your D levels up should be easy.
