Well, you've read the notes, the notes were post-midnight notes, and now it is time for you to post until the post-midnight cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is:PAWKY!
-
Welcome, 190 GUESTS.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept very well with my guardian angel, the faithful Thatch. I had no dreams that I remember, but I'm feeling rather melancholic this morning and last night. I don't know if it's the surgery in three weeks, my insecurity about further work now that the ballet is coming to a close, or if I'm missing something I lost or never had.
-
Yesterday the humidity was so high, the AC leaked condensation all over the floor. Our landlord, when he combined 202 and 204 West 82nd Street into one building in the 1960s, curiously decided at all apartment ACs should be wall units, so my AC sits on a sliding platform in a rectangular opening, maybe 1.5x2.5-3.0 feet just below the end of my window. The platform should tilt a bit towards the street so the condensation can run out onto the wall of the building. but it occasionally tilts back so the condensation runs into the apartment. I don't know if it's the cats jumping on and off it, the cheap 1960s construction, or somethng else. The last time this happened, around a year ago, the new super came in to adjust the AC.
-
I just got the copyist's full score and mp3 of No. 39, Train Station Cakewalk. It sounds quite delightful.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Bittersweet about the ballet coming to its conclusion.
-
DR elmore3003, are you considering traveling for the premiere?
-
DR Ron Pulliam, thank you for the refrigerator/fridge clarity.
-
I just read this morning that the Eiffel Tower can gain as much as 15cm in height during the summer when the heat expands the metal.
-
Useless factoid.
-
This afternoon I am going for a very much needed haircut. I think it has been over 2 months. And my eyebrows look like wild hedgerows.
-
Read about two interesting obscure cast albums yesterday.
One is Schmidt and Jones's Grover's Corners demo, featuring Liz Callaway, which was supposedly released on CD at some point. I know a few of the songs have appeared on other commercial releases.
The other is a 2-LP set of King of Hearts, from a production at Los Angeles Harbor College.
I don't think I shall ever be able to hear either one, alas.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I was awake too early for a Sunday, but laid around enjoying the rest and I've been trying to bring back as much as possible of the insane dream I had.
-
That's absolutely shocking, the price of BK's omelet breakfast at Art's Deli.
But people must be paying it fairly routinely, right?
Who are those people?
-
DR elmore3003, are you considering traveling for the premiere?
Actually, I have two trips coming up. The first is in November to Florida (why, God?) for Moonshine & Mistletoe, although I could live without seeing it. Then in March, my friends Richard and Sherri Newman and I are driving to Bloomington, Indiana for the orchestra rehearsals and openig of the ballet. Sherri is a huge balletomane and they will act as my librarians and guardians. On the way back, we may stop in Middletown, since it's Richard's hometown as well as mine, and see family.
-
Oy. I forgot that Florida is where Moonshine is going to be. :)
-
I would love to be there for the opening of the ballet, but March is a completely packed month for me these days. I'm already booked for half of it even as we speak.
-
Back to expensive breakfasts for a moment.
Me, for a breakfast that didn't have to be anything fancy or upscale, I'd be sticking to a Denny's, Norm's on La Cienega, Du-Par's at Farmers Market, or whatever other L.A. coffee shop still exists...even at the inflated prices all of those are probably charging now.
Because: Art's and the like? For thirty-six smackers? No Way.
-
I wonder if BK ever stopped in for a meal, any kind of meal, at Skytrails on Sherman Way and Hayvenhurst, the "official" VNY airport restaurant. Talk about nothing fancy... but man, I ate a lot of fun and satisfying meals there for cheap. Of course, I'm talking the late '70s, and of course, the place hasn't existed in decades, may it and many other good things RIP.
-
I first typed Havenhurst, because "Hay"venhurst just seemed wrong, then I looked it up. Has it really been that all of these years?
-
Okay, I've got stuff to do. Happy Sunday Vibes to all.
-
Sunday.
-
Yes DR JEANNE that is a beret on Dennis' head.....I thought he should look as pretentious as possible in his headshot.....and as a big fat bald person - in a headshot it is best to have your bald head covered.....or it becomes to focus of the photo.
-
It's my Audrey Hepburn Funny Face beatnik dance look.
-
I shall now shower.
-
Page Two
And be on my way to the theeder to watch our set be put up.
-
Exciting, DR Jrand73!
-
And about DR elmore3003's trips, too. Creative adventures.
-
Good morning!
-
Belated birthday wishes to DR Jrand73!

Wordle: 5/6

Happy Sunday, everyone!
-
I slept much too well and much too long.
I was thinking about getting up when my phone began ringing.
My cousin Debra was inviting me to lunch, so I have that to look forward to.
I shall be missing my Zoom chat, but lunch with Debra must take priority!
-
That should be very nice, DR Ron Pulliam.
-
I had a dream that I had returned to tour my old college campus.
-
Happy August 27th to everyone. We have a fun Broadway Radio Show for this Sunday as we listen to The Rat Pack Sings Show Tunes! Dean, Frank & Sammy cover 27 songs from the musical stage...check it out!!!

From George:
That would make me feel better. ;)
;D
-
From George:
Still shorter than "refrigerator."
Very true, though there isn't a "d" in refrigerator ;)
-
My condolences to Skip on the loss of his friend Ellen.
-
From Ron:
Refrigerator does not have "d" in it. Frigidaire has the "d", but that is a brand name and not the generic name for the icebox itself.
Euphemistically, many folks reference "the Fridge", but that was almost based on the brand name rather than generic "refrigerator."
Interesting, thank you.
So it really should be frig or frige ;)
-
DR John, continued get well vibes for your mother.
-
It's my Audrey Hepburn Funny Face beatnik dance look.

Good Morning - I'm back from church - just one mass this morning because the kids have the second mass and I've taken the 3rd mass off this month because of the show. Last show today. I'll be bummed to see this go.
In the meantime, lessons plans for the week!

So, last night BK wrote:
Of course, George HAD to go to the cast party and stuff his face with free tacos, and get liquored up and smoke the marijuana cigarettes.
1: I did go to the cast party
2: I bought the Taco Bell tacos (that's what I usually bring)
3: no one got liquored up...especially me
4: I don't know if anyone smoked the marijuana cigarettes. If they did, they did it out back where I never went.
-
Otherwise, it was a fun party at the director's house. The entire cast and crew and several partners were there, and a good time was has by all. :)
-
Today is the last performance of Theater Artists Olympia's production of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa's The Mystery Plays.
-
After the show will be strike, which will consist of people taking home the costume pieces that they contributed, and just cleaning up.
-
Nothing needs to be done with the set, so it won't take much time at all.
-
I love those kinds of strikes. ;D

Nice.

Back from lunch at Debra's.
My cousin Chad was there (Debra's eldest), along with his son Wyatt (2nd cousin). We were later joined by Becky (Debra's daughter), her husband Evan, and their beautiful 2-year-old Audrey James (also a 2nd cousin).
Very pleasant meal and relaxation after. We had fried pork steaks, cabbage, rice/gravy, mac and cheese and cornbread. Very, very tasty, all of it.
Audrey was the center of attention as was predictable, but we got much discussion in on other matters, adult topics, whatnot. It was very pleasant.
-
Attempted to connect to my Zoom group, but, alas, they were already all gone. I knew I was pushing my luck trying to join at 2:50 p.m., but recent chats had gone past 3 p.m. into 3:30 p.m. My guess is that without me there interjecting my thoughts (i.e., adding nonsense), they all got caught up and finished early.
-
It truly feels like it's time for a nap.
It's 98 degrees outdoors...and it's a baking heat. Heat index is 110.
AQI is 47.
We are expecting afternoon thunderstorms.

Re: Number 4 -- Those cigarettes are totally legal in Washington now, yes?
-
Yes they are legal.
-
Stirring after a nap
-
Thanks DR KEVINH.
-
Set is up!
Some painting to be done.....but that has been parceled out.....and I am not one of the parcels.
-
Eighty degrees here - AC is on for awhile.

They are legal, as Jane said, buy they don't have to be in the form of ciggies.

I would not want to be one of the parcels for painting.
-
We had a nice video chat with Freyja today.
-
Then we went for a walk.
-
The marijuana cigarettes are evil.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep. I didn't fall asleep until almost seven in the morning. Upset tummy a little.
-
Of course, the entire morning and most of the day is now gone.
-
But the most important thing is - page THREE?
-
Is this a holiday?
-
The marijuana cigarettes are evil.
I do not like to smell or breathe them.

It’s 104 here

I’d better not say what it is here.

Enjoy your weather.

I'm in an air conditioned theeder. :D
-
We do not have a busy social life here, yet it seems we get invited to do things when we have something else planned.
-
This time it isn't actually a social event planned, but the day I am scheduled to get my temporary crown removed and the permanent one put in place.
-
I already had to change this appointment so we could go to Bend for Keith's last appointment there.
-
Fingers crossed tomorrow morning I can change my appointment to a more convenient date and time.
-

-
And extra 10 cents per gallon for credit
-

Well, I'm sure you also needed the extra sleep.
-
Gas was 3.55 cash money for regular at my local Shell station
I didn't know gas stations did that.
-
I gather you had fun in Brooklyn with your friends. I'm glad you enjoyed the show.
-
SO many shows closing here at HHW! I count at least three.
-
And new doors opening, as they say.
-
Tonight we watched a good documentary, Larger Than Life, about Leonard Bernstein.
And then, for good measure, we watched the PBS Great Performances broadcast of his Symphony No. 1, Kaddish, conducted by Marin Alsop.
-
Slim pickings here today.

I did accomplish a few things today.

A haircut on a Sunday that is unusual.

Good night, friends.

'night
-
I am watching the end of Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison.
-
Really enjoying it. Mitchum and Kerr are great.
-
Thanks for the recommendation, Ron.
-
Huston surprises me more and more.
-
Now starting a Joan Blondell-John Wayne flick called Lady for a Night.
-
Hollywood and Mardi Gras are not a good combination.
-
The opening is silly.
-
It’s mercifully short at 87 minutes.

Well, the final performance went quite well.
-
The audience, yet again, really liked the show.
-
The strike was almost nothing, so that was good...then, I left.
-
Now, Margo and I are in the local IMAX theater, waiting to see Oppenheimer.
-
Excellent news about the closing, George. Enjoy the movie.
-

I often wonder if DR Singdaw missed his calling! NASA could likely use him during launch control countdowns.
-
Thanks for the recommendation, Ron.
You are most welcome, John G. There are likely hundres of films I have seen that have rarely/barely seen light of day since I saw them...one such film is "The Mudlark" which Fox Movie Channel did show on occasion, although it was not a great print.
Irene Dunne was Queen Victoria, Alec Guinness was Disraeil and Andrew Ray was "the Mudlark". Quite a nice film. I saw it on NBC's Saturday Night at the Movies in the early 1960s.
-
Gas was 3.55 cash money for regular at my local Shell station
I didn't know gas stations did that.
Some do...because it saves them fees they must pay to the credit card companies.
-
I finished Season Three of "The Umbrella Academy" this evening.
I must say, they truly delivered a whiz-bang ending to the season. Am quite certain they plotted out the season to cover all bases in case a Season Four wasn't ordered.
In fact, each season has a complete story arc, so it's not a new thing for the show.
I cannot imagine where Season four will take us, but I am more than ready for it to happen.
-
It is now 1:17 a.m. on the east coast.
Past my bedtime, actually.
Good night!
-
Let's get off this damn page.
-
Then lets get off the next damn page.
-
And the next damn page.
-
And the next damn page.
-
Hopefully, Rodzinski will come play and so will George.
-
Wow, just wow and then another wow.
-
George just disappeared - AGAIN. Another cast party? Another stuffing face with free tacos. This is disturbing. We're two damn posts into page six.
-
Someone WILL be held responsible.
-
My mind is just boggled by this.
-
And other things.
-
I'll continue writing the notes.
-
Now, Margo and I are in the local IMAX theater, waiting to see Oppenheimer.
Well, the movie was real good.
-
I really do like the IMAX versions when they're available.
-
3D versions of IMAX movies can be really cool, but that really isn't necessary.
-
The movie switched between three time lines, so that took a little time to figure out and get used to, but once I did, I could follow.

You can still make up for transgression with a little Max Factor 7A and rouge.
-
You WILL be held responsible.
But ALL movies were only $4!
-
C'mon now, fair is fair.
-
IMAX movies always cost more than the standard widescreen, so it was a deal that we couldn't pass up.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
It was three hours long, and only showing at 4:10 or so (I was busy then) and at 8:10, which is when we were able to see it.
-
I cannot remember the last time we were under seven pages. Was yesterday a holiday?
-
Tomorrow, I start rehearsal for a new show!
-
And I'm sure you went out and stuffed your face with free tacos afterward.
-
We don't need any more three-hour movies.
-
I only have two lines (I think)...maybe one.
-
We just don't.
-
Boycott.
-
Girlcott.
-
i do not care for page seven.
-
And I'm sure you went out and stuffed your face with free tacos afterward.
Nope. I drove through Burger King (aka BK) right after the play was over, and I really haven't eaten since.
-
And yet, here we are, stuck in a rut to which I say phut. Name the play/film in which a king utters the word phut.
-
Do it, do it now.
-
I know the answer.
-
Do you?
-
I haven't been hungry because I stuffed myself with too much from Burger King.
-
Do you?
I don't!
-
Gratuitous Post #190!
-
Burger King has a new chicken wrap with chicken strips.
-
That was quite tasty.
-
They have three different kinds and I had the Classic.
-
One of the others was a spicy version.
-
I forget what the third kind was.
-
I tried to look it up on their website, but you can't just look up their menu anymore.
-
You have to actually start an order, but since they're all closed, you can't start an order, so you can't even see their G-D f-ing menu! :o
-
And now...
-
I tried to look it up on their website.
-
It is not there.
-
It seems like most fast food websites are like that anymore. :P
-
So, I don't know WHAT you're talking about.
-
Phut, I say.
-
Do you know why I know what play/film contains the word phut?
-
I know because I, BK, spoke the word phut in said play (but not movie).
-
I spoke it quite loudly.
-
I relished it but I did not mustard it.
-
Get me off this damn page already.
-
Almost...
