Well, you've read the notes, the notes were both bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, and now it is time for you to post until the bright-eyed and bushy-tailed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MYRIAD!
-
So, I got an e-mail about tonight's rehearsal and it's just one street over from where I live! ;D Pracitcally no travel time!
-
Starting tonight, I'll be in rehearsals for a fund raiser play about the Hotel Olympian's opening day in 1920.
-
Here's the link to purchase tickets and get a little info:

I play Chef Potts (and yes, he was a real person and that was his real name) and have one or maybe two lines.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Perhaps as the morning progresses I will think of something to say.
-
"Let Freedom Ring," from the Kennedy Center, featuring Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell.

Good morning, all!
-
Yesterday, Amazon delivered a new external DVD/CD player, and I spent too much time playing with it. I also had an hour long telephonic conversation with one of my first friends outside of the Drama Book Shop crew in 1979. We were very close until he moved to Los Angeles around 1987; before that I saw him through general actor angst, his Broadway debut in Amadeus, and several girlfriends, and he saw me through a dreadful relationship during which I beat up my rat bastard druggie boyfriend at a Lenox Hill Hospital drug clinic.
-
Since his move to LA, I did see him one morning for breakfast at DuPar's when I was working with BK on something in LA, but it's mostly been a phone-email and mail friendship since then. Outside of friends in my hometown - Ginny, Richard, the Minors, and a few others - he may be the one person who knows me better than anyone.
-
Today I plan to finish ballet No. 38 and then move on to No. 40. Three numbers to go!
-
It's MONDAY!! Don't these singers look happy?
-
Or, at the very least, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed?
-
Perhaps you feel like bingeing some Binge?
-
Is that like looping de loop?
-
Gee, I want a hula-hoop!
-
Lots of things happening here for folks at HHW!
Vibes for all!

Good morning, all.
-
Decided to pop a Benadryl last night, for slight feelings of allergies and to ensure a solid sleep. I woke up from a THICK sleep (best way to describe it), later than my usual time, and am feeling a bit groggy but good. I would say it worked.
-
Only one dream has come into focus, in which I was trying on new glasses the doctor's office had ordered for me to wear until I get the cataract surgery. They had very thick, very heavy plastic frames, and were sliding practically all the way down my nose. I remembered that we hadn't even discussed frames, and was starting to show the doctor the problem when the dream ended.

Good morning!

Mallow Cups
Charleston Chews
Heath
Almond Joy
Boston Baked Beans
SweeTarts
Adams Apple bubble gum

Least favorite:
Those orange and black waxy candies handed out on Halloween. Honey flavored maybe? They just reminded me of wax.
-
DR VIXMOM you can even get Heath Bar Ice Cream.....and/or Klondike Bars.
-
DR George, thanks for the crossed fingers.
-
George, I'm pleased your final performance went well.
-
From DR Ron:
I often wonder if DR Singdaw missed his calling! NASA could likely use him during launch control countdowns.
;D
-
George, congrats on your $4 IMAX deal.
-
Ron, I saw that movie with Irene Dunne as Queen Victoria. Enjoyed it.
-
I find it very frustrating when I can't look up a menu on a website.

So, I got an e-mail about tonight's rehearsal and it's just one street over from where I live! ;D Pracitcally no travel time!
Very nice!

I suspected this is what you meant.

Yes.

Ron, I saw that movie with Irene Dunne as Queen Victoria. Enjoyed it.
The Mudlark?

They still do make them, DR vixmom, and they are sinfully addictive.
Haagen-Daz used to make coffee ice cream with Heath Bar pieces. It was sooooo good.
-
;) I keep warning Annabelle!
-
Ron, I saw that movie with Irene Dunne as Queen Victoria. Enjoyed it.
The Mudlark?
The very one!
-
TOD:
I loved Butternut candy bars, plus the same company's Hollywood candy bars.
I also loved 5th Avenue bars (still being made) when each piece had an almond on top (long ago abandoned).
-
Good Morning - Well, Bright Star has ended. 3 packed houses this weekend. Lots of love in the cast, crew and my amazing little bluegrass band. It was one of those shows I never thought I would cross paths with as a music director. In the end, it was a great show and a lot of fun. Still waiting to see the cast list for White Christmas. I was told in the next few days.
In the meantime - I'll be happy with the everyday work.

Thanks, Jane!

George, congrats on your $4 IMAX deal.
Thanks, but it wasn't just for me! It seems that ALL movies at most theaters were $4 to celebrate National Cinema Day (https://www.nationalcinemaday.org/). Everyone benefited!

Topic of the Day (in alphabetical order):
Butterfingers
Fun Dips (https://www.amazon.com/Fun-Dip-Lik-m-aid-Dips-48-Bx/dp/B002G24HD6/) with the candy sticks
Hershey's Kisses
Nestle's Crunch bars
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
-
I'm up, I'm up - six hours of sleep, up at eleven.
-
I want ALL candies mentioned.
-
I was fond of Sno-Caps, Raisinettes, frozen U-No Bars, Milky Way, Three Musketeers, Hershey with almonds, and red and chocolate licorice.
-
Circus Peanuts I loved when they were actually good. Whoever makes them now has ruined them.
-
Nowadays, regular Reese’s Cups are my favorite. Snickers are also wonderful. And for a trifecta of chocolate and peanut, there are Peanut M&M’s.
-
Was never all that fond of Necco Wafers. (Heresy to my friend Carol.)
-
Three Musketeers! I forgot about that one! I loved the simplicity of it...essentially just chocolate covered chocolate. :)
-
I almost to death on a Necco Wafer in the 2nd grade, so they moved way down on my list.
I forgot the Hollywood Candy Bar - I liked them, too.
-
Dental vibes for DR JANE....or was she changing the appointment?
-
White Christmas vibes for DR MATTHEW.
-
Going down to the theeder early to gather some props and a couple of furniture pieces.

I am glad you enjoyed your experience with the show. I enjoyed reading about it.

DR George, thanks for the crossed fingers.
You're welcome, Jane!
They worked :)

I was able to get an appointment for next week.
-
The only downside is that I have to be there at 8:00am.
-
George, congrats on your $4 IMAX deal.
Thanks, but it wasn't just for me! It seems that ALL movies at most theaters were $4 to celebrate National Cinema Day (https://www.nationalcinemaday.org/). Everyone benefited!
I knew everyone got in for that price, still it was great you could take advantage of it.

I'm guessing you left out the word choked. That would have been a good reason to stop eating them. I simply did not like the taste.
-
Dental vibes for DR JANE....or was she changing the appointment?
Thanks. Just changing. I'll save the vibes next week.
-
Since we are now going to the coast tomorrow we filled the gas tank today.
-
$4.95 for regular.
-
Mid-grade, which we used, was $5.15.
-
We paid 30 cents less with our Fred Meyer discount.
-
I sit in foggy Anchorage after a lively journey up through the glaciers and ports of Alaska. Flying to Seattle then to Vancouver. Much catching up to do. But wanted to say hello! Hope everyone is doing well.
-
Also, I swiftly finished Preview Harvey, which was a delight.
-
Glad to hear the trip went/is going well, DR Rodzinski!
-
We got rain!
-
DR elmore3003, enjoyed both the cartoon AND the YouTube link.
-
Excellent choice of reading material, Rodzinski. Fog sounds delightful to me.
-
We got rain!
It's raining men?
-
Wait. It’s Monday. My mind is in a fog.

Make it rain!

We got rain!
It's raining men?
Only in dreams.

You mean flavored chalk? Blech.

The 5th Avenue with an almond on top.

Here ya go, Jack:
-
And my favorite was:
-
Raisinets were always one of my top favorites, but now that I've gotten used to the dark chocolate ones, I can't go back to the regular milk chocolate ones. Well, that's because I did, in fact, go back to the regular milk chocolate ones just a few weeks ago when the theeder didn't have anything else I wanted. And they were okay, but I wouldn't choose to buy them again when I can have the dark.
-
Milk Duds were indeed a favorite at the movies. I might have gotten those more often than any other kind when I was a kid. But I didn't have any for many years, and when I tried them -- damn, I wish I knew when that might have been -- I thought they were just kind of waxy and unseemly. I wish I knew whether that was before or after they changed them.
-
I was saddened when a British friend posted just the other day about how poor a second American chocolate candy is to the British equivalents. And I mean direct equivalents, like some of the famous candy bars we all know and love. It's because the U.S. doesn't require the same level of cocoa [something or other] content as the Brits and Europeans do in their chocolate, and the difference is apparently pretty obvious. And remarkable. I've never had the pleasure, myself, but he was posting about Twix, specifically, and even that difference is remarkable. I wonder if any of these can be found at various "international" shops.

Costco has had milk chocolate covered dried cherries lately. YES!, as Mildred Natwick sang. You can keep your pedestrian raisins.

I found British chocolates at a tea shoppe in town. The difference is remarkable. I think to be called chocolate overseas, you have to have at least 20 percent chocolate. Ours sometimes have less than 2 percent, if I remember correctly.
-
I sit in foggy Anchorage after a lively journey up through the glaciers and ports of Alaska. Flying to Seattle then to Vancouver. Much catching up to do. But wanted to say hello! Hope everyone is doing well.
Hi DR Rodzinski. I am looking forward to details and photos.
-
Also, I swiftly finished Preview Harvey, which was a delight.
It was a delightful read.
-
We got rain!
So did we. I hope you got more than we did.
-
Wait. It’s Monday. My mind is in a fog.
;D

Wow.

LOL. I do not like flavored chalk.
-
The 5th Avenue with an almond on top.
I could not eat almonds at all when I was young due to my face and throat swelling up.
-
I still don't like to eat raw ones as they make my mouth itch.
-
I like toasted almonds.
-

I feel the same way. I'm not sure they changed as much as that I changed.
-

This doesn't surprise me. When we travel I often buy KitKats where I don't buy them here.
-
There was a candy shop in Michigan that had the best malted milk balls and these amazing chocolate covered dried strawberries. For a number of years after we moved I had the chocolate covered dried strawberries shipped to me.
-
I have my book discussion group at 4:00.
-
The book is By Her Own Design: The Story of Ann Lowe, Society's Best-Kept Secret by Piper Huguley.
-
It is a very interesting story, one that deserves being told.
-
I don't have a burning desire to discuss it ;D
-
;D
-
DR elmore3003, enjoyed both the cartoon AND the YouTube link.
Steve's Tired Old Queen at the Movies reviews are such a hoot!
-
Rodzinski, so happy you liked the book. Do write an Amazon review if you can.
-
Had the Muse Margaret conversation, and now all of proofer one's stuff is done.
-
I had a nice time at the book discussion. I think everyone felt the same about the book.
-
While I don't recommend the book, I do suggest reading about Ann Lowe, the black women who designed beautiful dresses. She also designed Jackie Kennedy's wedding dress.
-
Has anyone read The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen? It’s a kind of gay version of Shanna, the Blazing Novel of Eternal Love, by Miss Kathleen E. Woodiwiss.
-
Nope.
-
Today was a very stressful day at work.
-
I am tired.
-
Good night, friends.
-
Today was a very stressful day at work.
Hugs.
-
Keith just might be popping corn tonight.
-
If he does, I am having some.
-
I'm off to find out.
-
'night
-
Oh Almond Joy!
-
Butterfingers
-
Chocolate Necco wafers
-
Smarties ( the American ones)
-
I have since been introduced to British smarties which are basically m&ms
-
OH! m&ms!
-
Especially the peanut ones
-
Oh, page 6
-
Oh yes DR JANE I left out the verb.....CHOKED.....
-
I certainly enjoyed the ads posted by DR RON PULLIAM.
-
Just watched an odd flick called Half Shot at Sunrise. Bert Wheeler and Robert Woolsey star. It was billed as a war movie, and it did involve soldiers in World War I, but it was a musical with songs by Anne Caldwell. Dame Edith Oliver was in the cast. Sad jokes, but interesting musical numbers.
-
Starting The Boy With Green Hair, which has Nature Boy as its theme song.
-
But I am fading
-
I may have mentioned once that I bought some chocolate mints via Amazon.com that are manufactured in the UK. Queen Elizabeth II was said to always have these mints in her purse as she ate them every day.
They are called Bendicks Bittermints.
They are very much stronger than After Eight dinner mints or the mints on hotel pillows.
-
I like them.
I can only eat, at most, two at one time.
-
I think we were down for a few minutes.
-
Okay no posts for ninety MINUTES???
-
Something is wacky in the south of France.

Something is wacky in the west side story.

In other words, where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Just ordered a burger. Only had a very small wrap earlier, barely 400 calories.
-
I haven’t been able to connect, ket getting “ cannot connect 5o server”
-
And now it’s bedtime
-
It's been glitching - they're working on it but it should be fine now.
-
I'm here.
-
I'm there.
-
I'm everywhere.
-
No burger in sight yet. It's something called a smash burger - don't know what that means but we'll find out soon enough.
-
At least that's the hope.
-
What?
-
Did someone say something?
-
Apparently not.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
Maybe George will join us prior to midnight. Wouldn't that be a loverly change of pace.
-
I was able to get an appointment for next week.
That's great!
-
The only downside is that I have to be there at 8:00am.
I don't like morning appointments, either. :P

Without the link I would not have known what Fun Dips are.
I remember several middle school friends and I would go to a local convenience store and that's what I would always get. :)
-
We paid 30 cents less with our Fred Meyer discount.
Nice. I think the biggest discount that I've ever gotten was 35¢/gallon.
-
Glad to hear the trip went/is going well, DR Rodzinski!
Ditto!!

$4.95 for regular.
I saw $3.09 at a regular gas station yesterday.
:o

I can't remember the last time that gas was under $4 here in Washington. :-\

I'm just not a fan of raisins. I don't mind a good oatmeal-raisin cookie, but I wouldn't eat just raisins.
-
And about international candies, the local Cost Plus World Market sells some candies from Canada and England, and probably a few other places from around the world.
-
My favorite that I discovered when going to Western Washington University in Bellingham was Coffee Crisp.
-
I don't love coffee, but I really like mocha, and for some reason I love the Coffee Crisp candy bar.
-
Cost Plus World Market sells them, and I've gotten some smaller versions from Amazon. :D
-
Had the Muse Margaret conversation, and now all of proofer one's stuff is done.
Great news!
-
Has anyone read The Secret Lives of Country Gentlemen? It’s a kind of gay version of Shanna, the Blazing Novel of Eternal Love, by Miss Kathleen E. Woodiwiss.
It's available through the library as a Kindle download. I just checked it out. :)

Today was a very stressful day at work.
I am tired.

Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
Smarties ( the American ones)
I love those!

Something is wacky in the south of France.

Something is wacky in the west side story.
Anything to do with That Wicky Wacky Hula Hula Honka Wonka Honolulu Hawaiian Honey of Mine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1PEh0yRUJKE)?
-
:))
-
I love that song!
-
Maybe George will join us prior to midnight. Wouldn't that be a loverly change of pace.
I did. ::)
-
So, tonight was the first read-through of The Hotel Olympian Gala Extravaganza.
-
We introduced ourselves (I only didn't know three or four people) and read through the script.
-
Tomorrow, we'll block act one.
-
And now, since we're so close...
-
PAGE EIGHT DANCE!!
-
Whew!
-
My two lines are in act one, then my character of Chef Potts (yes, that's his real name) is not seen again...unless I the actor, if not Potts the character, is in the ensemble of the musical numbers.
-
I haven't found that out, yet.
-
Hopefully, I will soon.
-
Anyway, act two will be blocked on Wednesday, so I won't need to be there for that.
-
We'll have Thursday and Friday off.
-
Soonly, we're going to get an e-mail with a more comprehensive rehearsal schedule, so we'll know when act three will be blocked.
-
I (the actor, if not Potts, the character) may or may not be in act three.
-
All three acts are fairly short, and will have some fun stuff and fund raising during the "intermissions."
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
