Well, you've read the notes, the notes has an Annie moment, and now it is time for you to post until the Annie cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PUNDIT!
-
Good morning, all!
-
So far, the past 40 minutes have been hell. I got out of bed to find my dying air conditioner deposited a ton of water all over the floor. I called our building maintenance last Friday to report the problem, and when they called back on Saturday, I stupidly told them I thought I had it under control. Two hours later, I called them back and left a message that I was wrong amd I needed someone to check out the situation. That was Saturfay, and it's four days later, and it's a mess. On top of the water-condensation issues, the damned AC is dying, and I need a new one.
I am not happy at the moment.
-
Today is my doctor's appointment for my regular checkup and my pre-surgery clearance. I'm hoping the examination and Access-a-Ride both behave today.
-
DR JohnG, did I miss the title of what you saw last night or did you not tell us?
-
Good morning

AC vibes for Elmore
-
Access Ride vibes for Elmore
-
I have to bring my van to the shop
-
The automatic door lock on the drivers door stopped working
-
Vixdad and I each separately googled the symptom and came up with the same conclusion : faulty door lock actuator
-
I made the appointment and asked the young guy who answered to have the part ready as replacement it involves taking the drivers side door apart and I want my car back tonight
-
He told me he can’t order parts until they’ve checked the car out and are sure what the issue is
-
So I bought the part myself and I am bringing it with me .
-
I better get moving so maybe a Wordle

Good morning, all.
-
Wow two two days in a row
-
How much was it, vixmom?
Same thing with my car, but my mechanic already said it’s the actuator that dies, without even looking at it.
It’s the driver’s door and I’ve just been living with it. I lock/unlock that one manually and hit the others with the remote.
-
I am shocked, shocked, that we’re at the end of August. How does this happen? It shouldn’t even be allowed.
-
Damn them!
-
I am up early this morning to - yes, again - drive Kristi to her car place and to work.
The thing they fixed a week or two ago - guess what? - still needs fixing.
-
I don't remember even hearing about The Stand-Up Guys, but thanks for the warning. :)
-
In an amazing coincidence, though, I don't know how I could ever forget such a dream, but BK's cockroach story reminded me that I had, literally, a COCKROACH DREAM, either last night or the night before. And I'd completely forgotten it. Till now.
I hadn't had a good insect or sp*d*r dream in a while, so I was due. I was seeing these annoying brown spots in an old carpet, and as I tried to wipe them with a dampened paper towel to see if it was something that would come up easily, I found they were actually cockroaches that had been sitting there in the carpet, being very, very still. Well, you known how these dreams go. Before long, the more I tried to pick up, the more cockroaches there were, living in that carpet. La la la, la di da, la la la.

Have a good Thursday, everyone. And a good A-a-R and doctor's visit, DR Elmore!
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR JohnG, did I miss the title of what you saw last night or did you not tell us?
Probably not yesterday but the day before. I saw a production of The 39 Steps.
-
Congratulations, Vixmom, on your twofer.

Off to work.
-
Happy Thursday, one and all.
It's a gorgeous day out of doors, from what I can see through my windows.
-
This morning is a quarterly visit with my VA doctor.
After that, barring any happenstance that might prevent it, I shall mosey over to Sam's Club for some minor shopping.
Time to re-stock my ice cream supply, it is.
-
Metphorically speaking, it's time I got my show on the road!

The corn is as high as a elephant’s eye!

So did I! Do they still have those? I think not. There were a lot of those little gems dropped a long time ago, and it was a loss. And I'm afraid I haven't read it in a long time. I also hear that the cartoons don't hit like they used to.

In the past 24 hours, I've gotten FIFTEEN bogus emails, each from a different sender, stating that my Amazon Prime membership is expiring, and to PLEASE CLICK HERE to resolve.
Damn them. Damn them all to hell.

Damn them. Damn them all to hell.
I got one of those yesterday morning, and even though I knew mine doesn't expire till just about the end of the year, it looked incredibly authentic.
I even went to Amazon (directly, of course) to confirm that, then "reported" it as spam.
-
Important envelope vibes for MR BK.
-
Vibes that the day of DR ELMORE is going well.....or at least BETTER.
-
August flew by like a mouse being chased by a cat.
-
The run thru last night was slow as molasses.
-
I was mad as a wet hen.....but I kept my feelings under wraps.
-
Nobody was on the ball....and the assistant director was sleeping like a newborn before it was halfway over.
-
I shall rally the troops and I expect them to be johnny on the spot this evening.
-
I may have a picture later today if I can get my act together.
-
DR Jrand73 will be posting those till Hell won't have it again!
-
So I bought the part myself and I am bringing it with me .
That was clever of you. I hope they don't say they won't guarantee the part since you purchased it.

I had an 8:30 appointment this morning for an annual test.
-
I was home by 9:10.
-
Yesterday I registered online.
-
Yet this morning they still needed information, including my insurance card, that was visible yesterday.
-
Annoying.

Good Afternoon - things are rolling quite fast today. the A/C finally works in my classroom (which I technically don't teach in) so that's nice. The official cast list for White Christmas has been sent out so I guess everything is official. It looks like a great cast for sure. I'm a little tired today, not sure why. Today I did make a concerted effort to cut back my coffee intake and maybe that's why I need an afternoon pick-me-up. Sorry for the rambling.

I wonder if my "love" list would be longer than my "hate" list.

I would like to think so.

Now that we don't even have one cat it is a real treat for me when I can pet one.

We get plenty of dog fixes but rarely a cat one.

Seven! Oh dear.

Rehearsal was better tonight and it was the last night for books onstage.....
-
Monday will be a test for sure.
-
Wasn't really in the mood for a proper meal, so got some bagels and cream cheese from Western Bagel. And then some freshly made peanut butter chocolate chip cookies from a local jernt - they make all their DoorDash orders fresh from the oven, so they were still warm when they arrived.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
My doctor's appointment went well this morning, and I had a nice trip to Sam's Club where my ice cream itch was very well scratched.
Of course, I didn't get away with "just" ice cream, but I was determined that each purchase would have some excellent purpose. It was mostly food and it will be absolutely wonderful in future meals.
-
This evening, I met my cousin Butch, his fiancee Sharon, and my cousin (Butch's sister) Debra at the club for a nice evening out.
Debra and I had steak and fixins...Butch and Sharon had blackened salmon and fixins. We had excellent conversation, many people stopped by and said hello, and then we decided we should vacate our table and go home.
My meal was bought by Debra's son, Chad, one of the nicest relatives I know. She had told him it was a birthday dinner for me and that Butch and Sharon invited her. He demanded that my meal be paid for by him and that my dinner companions could simply be my present!
A memorable birthday, in advance, for moi!
-
That was my day.
-
Good evening
-
So I did indeed bring the part with me to the mechanic.
-
It was a brand new genyouwine Honda part .
-
It cost me $91 and some cents
-
I could have gotten no name “replacement part” cheaper but opted to go for the names brand
-
I walked into the mechanic explained the problem, then explained all the other locks were working, all the other electrical bits were working and that I was 99.9% sure it was the actuator that needed replacing and that Steve said he couldn’t order it until he had checked out the car.
“But since this is a holiday weekend and I need my car back fixed tonight, I bought one and here it is”
-
The manager , Pete, laughed at the look on Steve’s face . He said, “OK Mrs. Vixmom, we’ll use your part if that’s what we diagnose”
-
4 hours later I received a call from Steve ,” uh, we checked all the codes and cleared those out and tested all the door locks and all the electronics and um, uh it seems the problem is the uh ( mumbles) drivers door acuator
-
So for an additional $276 and some cents Steve replaced it
-
At my office building, For the past week there has been construction going on in one of the suites shown the hall from us.
-
It has been quite noisy at times
-
By way of an apology the building management hired a Mr. Softee truck to spend an hour at our building and everyone was welcome to have one cone or cup for free
-
It was quite popular with the populace
-
I myself had a cone…a chocolate vanilla twist…with chocolate sprinkles
-
In other news, this evening we discovered we had been invaded by teeny tiny ants
-
They were sanding on the kitchen counter …yech
-
So I washed everything down with vinegar , then opted up to home depot for some kitchen safe ant traps
-
Hopefully we’ll be ant free
-
Grateful I didn’t have any of those dreadful other insects which I shudder to think of
-
I am now very tired
-
And since we are on page ocho I feel confident I may say buenas noches
-
Buenas noches

So, back in 1996, I was involved with an AIDS benefit in Tacoma. A lot of us performers and the producer were from Olympia, but Tacoma wanted an event and we knew how to put on a show because we had been doing them for several years by then.
-
Anyway, the producer got everyone an Until There's a Cure (https://www.until.org/) bracelet (the silver plated version (https://store.until.org/jewelry/thebraceletsilverplate), but still it was really cool), and I'd been wearing it ever since.
-
Well, about four years ago, I lost mine and couldn't find it anywhere. :(
-
Love the library book!
-
Probably a year later, I decided to buy a new one. :)
-
New notes are up.
-
I got the sterling silver bracelet (https://store.until.org/jewelry/thebraceletsterlingsilver) and it was really nice.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
Fast forward to last year during Mamma Mia! rehearsals in Centralia and I lost the sterling silver bracelet! :o
-
I wrote them.
-
But a couple of days later, it was found in the parking lot.
-
One of the end caps and the ribbon had broken off, but it was otherwise still complete.
-
Well, a couple of weeks ago, I FINALLY decided to get it fixed. ::)
-
I picked it up today and here it is:
-
At last my wrist is complete again!

:))
