Well, you've read the notes, the notes were a farce, and now it is time for you to post until the farcical cows come home.

And the word of the day is: BELLWETHER!

Good morning, all!
-
It was a long and restless night. Aroud 8:30 I turned on the AC to cool the place down for sleep, but it was an endless night with too many bathroom breaks and an inability to get comfortable. Faithful Thatch stayed with me all night, and Annabelle joined us around 4:00 when she leaped down from her bookcase aerie and landed on me.

I have to work on my Charleston today. Tomorrow I must spend the day on "Many M<oons Ago" from Once Upon A Mattress.

I cannot recommend a regimen of prednisone, Valacyclovir and Amoxicillin.
My sleep is fraught with weird dreams. How weird? Really?
Well, let's just say that it's like being in a farce...you are an agent for an Asian actor who needs to be up for an award, and as soon as you get something done, there are dozens of other Asian actors demanding you give them the same service.
Trouble is, I am not agent to ANY of them, and only just an advisory friend to the first one.
And then the law comes out to demand that "I" cease and desist with all the duplicate advertising.
Once it's cleared up, all seems well...until it starts all over again.
I am sleeping, but my dreams are ruining my sleep!
-
That none of those dreams make any sense just compounds the problem. But, they ARE dreams.
-
So, now I am up and have taken my meds for this time of day.
I am yawning quite a bit, and I wonder if I shouldn't just crawl back under the covers and risk dreaming all over again. Now that I've told about them, they shouldn't recur...should they?
-

Go easy on that Charleston, Larry. It won't be easy with your needing a hip replacement! And mind the cats. They won't like the kicks.

None of the past few days have felt like the day they were, but especially yesterday. It not only didn't feel like a Friday, it had no feeling of identity at all. Today does feel a little bit like a Saturday.

I'm up, I'm up - four hours of sleep.
-
But I entered all the fixes, so that's one less bell to answer, one less egg to fry.
-
After my last (next to last now) post, I crawled back into bed. I had four more blissful hours of sleep. Not dreamless, however.
I was a different version of myself in that dream cycle. Steady, dependable and very much the male counterpart of Jo March from "Little Women". It took me a while to figure who I was and why...having watched the PBS series overr the past two days.
Scenario was vastly different, but I was very idyllic...given the circumstances.
Go know, and then some.
-
Four hours? Sheesh.

I find it very easy to get sucked down YouTube rabbit holes.

Cooking. Politics. Animals.

They're all lurking. Temptresses.

That's what I'd like to know.

DR John G. - you liked Tom Lake, didn't you?

I have finished my morning muffin, and am now enjoying my coffee.
I must admit to feeling just a bit wonky, and I hope I can find a way to be purposeful while these drugs do their work.
I will say, however, that my complete sinus blockage has now lifted. The polyps are still in place, but seem to be shrinking.
If I cross my eyes, dot my i's and say boo at all my reflections, perhaps I won't jinx myself.
Otherwise, I shall have to launch into "Swingin' the Jinx Away', and nobody needs me to do that.
-
I should probably get up and do something. What, I don't know. But something.
-
I should probably get up and do something. What, I don't know. But something.
Do a laudable Charleston on Larry's behalf so he doesn't have to do one.
-
How long are you on those meds, DR Ron Pulliam - three weeks?
-
I shall do a Charleston whilst crossing my eyes.
-
I hope I don't hit any furniture.
-
Why can't I just be independently wealthy?
Strive for being independently healthy. It's worth so much more!
-
How long are you on those meds, DR Ron Pulliam - three weeks?
Thereabouts. One of them starts diminishing dosages after the first week, but I think it's the combination bomping my brains right now.

I shall do a Charleston whilst crossing my eyes.
Just don't try it crossing a street.

Good advice, DR Ron Pulliam.

I needs must find a decent potluck recipe for this Wednesday. Everyone is going to be doing things like fried chicken, ham slices, green beans, potato salad, salad, gelatins, etc.
I ponder whether BBQ meatballs might be a good addition. I can buy a big bag, dump 'em in a crockpot with sauce, and let them heat overnight.
I would rather be more ambitious and do a squash casserole, or a pineapple/cheese casserole, but I don't believe I trust myself to get it all done correctly right now. I might curry the squash. casserole or toss caution to the winds and add cumin to the pineapple/cheese casserole. At this moment, that doesn't sound too bad It might be a new thing. But I don't think so.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

DR Ron Pulliam, I'll email you my friend's crockpot white chicken chili recipe.
-
OK. Off to do some things things.
-
DR Ron Pulliam, I'll email you my friend's crockpot white chicken chili recipe.
Appreciated. Not sure I'll add more chicken to what will be a chicken-heavy potluck. Not in hot September, anyway.
Possibly a great addition to a November potluck, though. Would love to have the recipe.

Good Morning - busy day for a Saturday. I get to play some auditions for a local theatre company for their teen program. Then it's of to DXL to see if I can create a "look" for tonights gala which is a 70's "Disco Ball" theme. If I can't - I'm just wearing black. I also need to find time to practice the last 8 bars of "Vanilla Ice Cream" as my hands have seem to have lost the memory for those 8 bars - it's been quite a while, I suppose.
-
I don't know why I put myself through this... but.... I recently decided that I wanted to take a listen to a new show that is headed for Broadway in the Spring (or earlier, can't remember). At the moment it's a 4 song EP, which is fine. So I listened.....
🤦 It sounds like everything we've heard before from the orchestrations to the vocal arrangements and even the subjects.
This is why I just "can't" with new musical theatre anymore.

From DR George:

That's nice. I hope it helps to save a life.

I just drove out to get half a dozen things at the supermarket and top off my gas tank (it's still $3.56).
What it FEELS like I just did is run a marathon in the Amazon.
This has to be some of the worst (i.e. humid) air I've felt in these parts. It's even hazy, which we don't experience very often, even in times of high humidity. "Accu"-weather says it's 83 with a RealFeel of 91. And yes, of course we're going to get another lashing from the storms and rain this afternoon. Yesterday's was incredible, with quite a bit of damage done in one nearby town. Today's is supposed to be a bit less. But boy, are we (the great royal we) sick of this new normal. Remember when September would herald the coming of fall?

I was hoping but also realize it is probably too soon.

I am very grateful that I figured out how to fix the too bright issue with my kindle app on my Samsung.
-
I also like that it shows the real number of pages in the book vs the inflated eBook page count which Libby now uses.
-
I don't understand why Kindle does not show a chapter count. I read that Kindles don't show it either though plenty of people want that option.
-
I should go for a walk since I didn't exercise yesterday morning.

DR Jane, we met in February, 1987. But 9/9 (1990) is when we had our commitment ceremony with our parents in attendance.

Sad. Glittery stuff should never fail.

And fail-ly stuff should never glitter.

Glitter [the actual stuff] makes me nervous. It gets into everything, and goes everywhere.

elmore, if it's the usual Firestick not loading content, there's a really easy fix for it - you just have to go to your settings and click on refresh or restart - that clears the caches and everything works again.

Very good rehearsal today.
-
I put gas in the motor car and had to put air in the tires - they get a bit low after about eight months, then I put a little air in and all is well.
-
Then I went to the newish and huge Whole Foods just a few blocks from here. It's very big and everything is easy to find. I got some chicken strips and mac-and-cheese from the hot food bar. It's all pretty okay and boy it ain't cheap. I could have had a big salad from Stanley's for what this junk cost.
-
It is disgustingly hot here - and MUGGY - like sitting in a sauna.

Congratulations to Singdaw and his DH

Happy Anniversary!!

The Whole Foods near us closed, not that we went to it very often as it was not conveniently located for us.

It really wasn't that inconvenient, and I occasionally go to New Seasons which is in the same area.

New Seasons is across the street from my audiologist which is convenient.

Before we lived here we enjoyed going to Whole Foods when we visited Portland.
-
The December I stayed with my brother while I fixed up my father's condo to sell, almost every night after dinner I would walk over to Whole Foods.
-
We would walk to a restaurant near him and then back to his place. Not having proper winter clothes he was cold. I would walk him home, and then head back out again.

I would love to give you a vibrant update of my day, but I have nothing.
I did watch the Clemson football game. After their serious drubbing by Duke last Monday night, it was expected that playing the small Charleston Southern School would be a cakewalk.
But...no...Charleston Southern picked off the QB passes twice in the first period to lead 14-7 at one point. At that one point, Charleston Southern had not even completed a series of downs and had no yards and no pass attempts but was LEADING Clemson.
Clemson looked befuddled and hopelessly out of its element.
But, by the end of the half, Clemson led 17-14.
At game's end -- after an inspired second half -- Clemson won 66-17.
But the team they managed to destroy wasn't even supposed to be compatible. This game was to recover from what they had hoped would have been a grueling opener against Duke (who won 28-7). Before the Duke game, Clemson had a pre-game rating of number 6 in the country. Going against Charleston Southern, they were ranked number 25.
That's all I know. And that is what the announcers told me to say if I were asked.
-
I am getting a bit sleepy now, even though it has been abou 12 hours since I got up from my four-hour nap this morning.
Fingers crossed that dreams are not wonky ones and that my sleep is restful
-
I am happy I got a haircut yesterday afternoon so I don't have to make a note to call for an appointment next week.
I am happy I went to the recycling center and unloaded a bunch of carboard and styrofoam yesterday so I don't have to do it Monday.
And I am very happy that my right nostril has been open all day so that I can nose breathe a bit.
-
I believe that is an end to my inanities for the evening.
I hope it is.
-
That's all I know. And that is what the announcers told me to say if I were asked.

Hi, Singdaw.
-
How’s the anniversary going?
-
Waiting for something called asada fries, which look, in the photo, too good to pass up.
-
Discovered today that there’s a sequel to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, a gay YA novel I loved.
-
How’s the anniversary going?
Not too well. The DH had to work all morning at Temple and had to go back this afternoon and will be there until past midnight. It is Selichot, the beginning of the High Holy Days.
-
The author used to be married to a co-worker’s cousin.

The author used to be married to a co-worker’s cousin.
That's kinda cool.

More than 2,000 dead in Morocco. Just heartbreaking.
I'd heard. :(
-
So, after the suicide prevention walk, I came home and took a much needed nap.
-
I got to the Tig Notaro show, and she was so funny!
-
Highly recommended by the likes of me!
-
And not just me...over 980 tickets were sold!
-
The theater hold 1008 (I think), so it was essentially sold out!
-
Anyway, after the show, I was a bit hungry, so I drove through the local Burger King.
-
They had me pull out of line and park.
-
I waited.
-
PAGE NINE DANCE!!
-
And I waited. ::)
-
And I waited! :-\
-
It took almost 25, count 'em, TWENTY FIVE MINUTES for me to get my food because they accidentally gave it to someone else who drove off with it. :o
-
When they finally realized that, they did give me completely fresh food, so that was good.
-
AND they gave me a large order of fries as an apology, which was nice.
-
I would've rather have had the whole meal comped instead...but it was all freshly cooked.
-
And I wasn't in any hurry, so there's that.
-
Anyway, I came home and finished eating my food.
-
I started eatinf as I drove away. ;)
-
Gratuitous Post #250!!
-
And ever since then less, I've been struggling to keep my eyes open. 8)
-
So, I shan't any longer.
-
I must hie myself to sleep (since I'm already in bed), and say good night.
-
So...good night.
-
And have a pleasant tomorrow.
-
:)

New notes are up.
