Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not proofed, and now it is time for you to post until the proofed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: LIONIZE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Welcome, 128 GUESTS.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Watched Theater Camp (2023) last night. While there were a few amusing moments, didn't like it overall nearly as much as Camp (2003).
-
Good morning, all!
-
I don't know what happened; the alarm rang at 5:30, T^hatch was with me. I turned off the alarm, and went back to sleep. When I decided I* should get up, the clock said 6:50. So, I'm moving really late today.
-
Last night the temperatures rose. We've been in the low 70s and 60s all last week, but last night was very warm. As soon as I was dressed this morning, I turned on the AC.
-
I had a strange dream; I was working in some capacity on a musical film, and the producers had brought Gloria Swanson and Ramon Novarro out of retirement to do a number.
-
This morning, I need to reconcile my two scores of "In a Little While" and finish that number off, I need to call Access-a-Ride for my trip to City Center tomorrow, and then I want to watch the new Hallmark movie - I really cannot call their cheesy things "films: - at 1:00.
-
Yesterday afternoon, the neighbor below me brought me a huge gingerbread cake she had baked. Lordy, is that thing delicious!
-
DR Jrand73, congratulations on ending your season with a high note.
-
DR elmore3003 - a reward for you making her ceiling fall in? Glad it's delicious!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Waiting for church to start. Playing bells for the first time this season.

Loved the movie Camp. Robin de Jesus, Anna Kendrick and even a cameo from Stephen Sondheim.
-
Turned on the radio on my way home from church. Sammy Davis Jr. singing a slow version of Begin the Beguine. Nice.
-
https://youtu.be/u-4qdsE9dss?si=-qTGVIcIH9kXuLvI
This wasn’t the version on the radio, but it’s groovy too.
-
Actually, it’s the second version on the clip.
-
DR elmore3003 - a reward for you making her ceiling fall in? Glad it's delicious!
I think it was a reward for being a wonderful neighbor for nearly forty years.
-
Good morning, all.

Seth Rudetsky just did a Camp reunion:

I've watched the first 20 minutes and I'll finish it later. Robin's there, but no Kendrick (so far, but she doesn't tend to show up at those things).

I have started it, but not yet gotten "into" it. I am a big fan of Jimmy Tatro, so I'm hoping his character delivers something more than I've seen in the first 20 minutes.
I first saw him in "The Guest Book" and he was hilarious.
-
DR ELMORE I would pay to see a Ramon Navarro and Gloria Swanson number.
-
Here I am at the theeder before the show.

Sondheim didn’t show up, did he? That would be scary.

The cast got me a nice framed picture of a Robert Frost quote and it's above my desk now.

I am broiling some chicken breasts to make chicken salad. I like the flavor of broiled rather than just baked.
I also use some Beer Can Chicken flavoring....
-
Page Two.
I am watching The Adventures of Superman and thinking about the CD that MR BK produced with all the music cues from the show.
It is an amazing CD and I love to listen to it.

Wonderful neighbors are truly a blessing.
I haven't seen my neighbors for a while, except a quick wave.

This afternoon, I tried to watch "Notes of Autumn," the Hallmark movie. After thirty minutes the cuteness and stupidity forced me to stop.

You say that like cuteness and stupidity are bad.

Vapid is as vapid does.

The Hallmark Channel, sponsored by the insulin industry.

I'm up, I'm up - ten hours of very needed sleep.

Here's a how-de-do! Amazon sent me an email that they had delivered my package today. The email evenenclosed a photo.
There's one problem: that is not my door mat.

Does it look like it could be your building, at least?

Good Afternoon/Evening (wherever you are). Church was fine today. You'd think we gave the assembly a Christmas present when we announced that the final song was "Holy God, We Praise Thy Name" - definitely a favorite. Went to the grocery and to Total Wine to pick up a few cigars and the makings of Martini's. - which I've never made but will attempt possibly this evening. I have some work to do and then I'll set up the harness and brush out the boys. They won't stand still if I don't use the harness. Best investment ever.
-
In the meantime - as I work here at the computer - I'm still trying to figure out the meaning of that 60's hit "Elusive Butterfly"
-
:)
-
Sunday evening greetings! A lot of moving prep has taken place here today. Richard continued working in the basement while a 3-man crew painted the walls down there. I pretty much finished packing my craft corner.
-
It's crazy how warm the temperatures still are for the end of September. I'm definitely not complaining as I love warmer weather.

Good evening!

Good afternoon.

I got a flu shot today. That's three shots in three weeks.

Lucky you.

I got a flu shot today. That's three shots in three weeks.
You might get to skip the RSV next year if it is found to be good for 2 years.

Then I find out there's another pneumonia shot that's recommended.
We recently got the prevar 20.
-
DR Iris are you lurking?
-
Have you ever gone to the Antique Center at Old Savage Mill?
-
We went there today and then over to the cute little of town of Ellicott.
-
Craig purchased some delicious chocolate covered caramels with Old Bay spice for us to try. They were delicious.
-
Good morniny
-
Oh, it’s night
-
Where did the day go?
-
Hmmm I woke to a grey and rainy day
-
Had a cup of coffee
-
And a shower
-
Not concurrently you understand
-
Then I went to church
-
It was sparsely attended
-
In fact, had there not been a baptism there woukd have probably been only 40 people tgere
-
It was the first day we went back to two services, 9 and 1030 ( we’ve been. At one combined 945 service fir the summer )
-
The 9am service is the traditional service, and the congregation is generally older
-
And they tend not to drive in poor weather
-
The baby who was baptized was about 6 mo this old and very calm and interested in all the proceedings
-
Also cute as a button
-
After church, after clearing away and resetting for the next service I headed to the deli to buy a sausage egg and cheese on roll for Vixdad
-
I had a zoom meeting at 11
-
At 12 it was over and I gathered the laundry together
-
I started the first load and sorted the other two.
-
Then I got out the crock pot and put together six stuffed peppers
-
And put them in the slow cooker to be ready for dinner
-
Then I made my lunch
-
Sliced Turkey breast, Muenster cheese and avocado on a sesame topped brioche roll
-
It was delicious
-
Then suddenly it appeared to be three hours later
-
Mysteriously
-
So I moved the stuff in the washer to the dryer and started the second load
-
Made some tea, sat in the recliner and closed my eyes for a monment
-
Or two hours
-
I’m starting to figure out where the day went
-
I put away the first set of laundry, moved the second load into the dryer and started the final load
-
But now all the laundry is done, the peppers have been et
-
Well two of them anyway, the other four shall serve as dinner this week

And we have just watched an episode of the British version of Professor T
-
And now I’m all caught up
-
Jack, I love that picture of you in front of the theeder
-
For dinner I had a fantastic bean quinoa burger on a pretzel bun with coleslaw, tomato, and cheese.
-
On the side were sweet potato fries.
-
PAGE FIVE!

'night.
-
Well, after all the posting about Camp (2003) and the online reunion show, I had to re-watch the movie tonight. Which I enjoyed all over again.
-
Soon I will leave to pick up the DH from Kol Nidre services. And then back early tomorrow morning for the entire day. The entire temple parking lot is reserved for folks with handicapped status, so not even the staff can park there. Hence, I drive him and pick him up.
-
I brushed the dogs out. JP was fidgetity, even with the harness. But he let me brush his beard. Leo had some tangles in his beard and it was a challenge to get them out, he doesn't like to be brushed when he has tangles. We worked them out and he looks good. He's getting groomed on Wednesday at a new groomers. Hopefully, he'll behave. If the new groomer is good, I'll send JP. He's more cooperative for sure.
-
A crazy busy dance day.

4.5 hours. Enough.

Now watching the wonderful French movie Monsieur Hire.
-
So very different from Panique, both of which were based on a Georges Simenon novel.

Here's a how-de-do! Amazon sent me an email that they had delivered my package today. The email evenenclosed a photo.

It's been quite rainy here today, too.

Not concurrently you understand
Where's the fun in that? ;D

Where's the fun in page five.

Riddle me THAT.

Where’s the fun in loneliness and solitude?

That’s thee question Monsieur Hire asks.

It’s a barrel full of laughs.

Really powerful though.

There is a tentative deal to end the WGA strike.

Woman orders a CD four days ago. Writes me yesterday morning and asks when she can expect to receive it. I sent her a response just now: You mean the CD you ordered four days ago that was delivered thirty minutes after you wrote your email?
-
Today was a day!
-
I ushered for the silent movie with live organ music series at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.
-
Today's movie was the 1924 silent move version of Peter Pan.
-
Dennis James, the organist, told how the movie had pretty much been lost because when Disney made their animated version, they bought the original 1924 version outright so that there would be no competition with their new version.
-
Oh boy, page 6.
-
The 1924 version was thought lost, but a complete and practically pristine copy was found at an old school for organ players that Dennis James had actually gone to.
-
I just realized that the story is on the Washington Center's website here:
https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/silent-movie-peter-pan/ (https://www.washingtoncenter.org/event/silent-movie-peter-pan/)
;D
-
The best part of the movie is, of course, the live organ playing.
-
And Dennis James' "solo organ transcription from his painstaking reconstruction of the original orchestral musical score that accompanied the film when it was first released nearly 100 years ago."
-
The whole movie was about two hours long, and it's pretty much all the same story, but having it be the very first movie version, and the original score (if reduced for an organ) that was written for that actual version is really cool.
-
So, my friends Margo and Shelly went to the movie, too.
-
I ushered, but Margo had a gift certificate for two free tickets for ushering so many hours, so she shared that with Shelly.
-
Both Margo and Shelly really enjoyed the movie, too.
-
It's one of the regular events at the WCPA that I always look forward to.
-
:D
-
The other is the a cappella competition in the late winter/early spring.
-
Keep posting, fellas.
-
George arrives nine minutes before midnight.
-
Jeez.
-
And he hasn't posted a single thing in the last minute.
-
We haven't been stuck on page six for the entire year, I think.
-
Everyone must have been watching football.
-
Now it's been two minutes since George posted anything. Has he gone down a rabid hole?
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
That must be noted.
-
Now it's been two minutes since George posted anything. Has he gone down a rabid hole?
Jeez is right! I'm allowed to go to the bathroom!
-
I'll just be patient and wait for George to stop stuffing his face with free tacos and make up for the dearth of postings.
-
NO BATHROOM VISITS.
-
NO WIRE HANGARS.
-
After the movie, we all went to Red Robin and dined.
-
NO WIRE HANGERS!
-
NO RED ROBIN.
-
NO BOB BOB BOBBIN'
-
I'll just be patient and wait for George to stop stuffing his face with free tacos and make up for the dearth of postings.
No tacos tonight. I had a burger at Red Robin...and way too many fries!
-
I did not go to RED ROBIN.
-
WAY TOO MANY FRIES.
-
They were good fries, but I shouldn't have eaten all that I ate. ::)
-
Anyone have the new iPhone 15?
-
One is allowed to splurge, you know.
-
Anyone have the new iPhone 15?
Not I. I'm Android all the way.
-
What?
-
Did someone say something.
-
George is an android. We all suspected that.
-
After stuffing our faces with various foodstuffs, Margo went home, and I drove Shelly home since I drove her to the theater.
-
NO MORE WIRE HANGERS!
-
After that I came home for a bit but had to go back to my mom's to feed her cat since I had been gone all day.
-
I drove no one home but I'm sure I drove at least two people crazy.
-
I could use some free tacos right now.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I stayed at my mom's and made sure that Henry (the cat) was fed and taken care of.
-
Oh, look! It's Page Eight!!
