Well, you've read the notes, the notes atoned for the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the atoning cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: GOSHEN!
-
That's for our Jewish friends.
-
Congrats on the final casting, BK!

Good morning, all!
-
This is a City Centerday, and it means, since they predict rain all day, that at some point(s) I will be wet.
-
I slept well last night. Annabelle stayed with me the entire night. Thatch stayed away, andStella got quite fussy and then demanding for attention around 1:30. I had a dream I no longer remember, although bits of it keep running through my mind.
-
Last night I watched the first half of the Twilight Time release of PrettyPoison, a film I haven't seen in fifty years. I know I didn't see it on its initial release, so I think I saw it in a theatre in Pittsfield, Massachusetts - where it was filmed - in the summer of 1973 when I worked at the Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival. I love the film; Anthony Perkins, Tuesday Weld, and Beverly Garland are wonderful.
-
Good morning, friends.
-
Really enjoyed DR George's posts last night about Peter Pan and its restoration.
-
Yes, today is the day of fasting. Sundown last night to sundown tonight. You're not supposed to shower, either.
-
The cast list for 70, Girls, 70 sounds quite exciting and enticing. Should be great!

Good morning!

I slept through the night without waking
-
Which rather surprised me since I had had so many naps through out the day
-
I suppose the weather is accommodating the sleeping
-
But now I must go to work
-
Well after I finish my coffee
-
Good morning.
-
And Wordle, of course
-
Fay DeWitt from the Shoestring Revues? Love her. Kay and Sharon, too.
-
I gave up trying to sleep a few hours ago. I emptied two kitchen cupboards and swept under my DH's dresser.
There's some things I want him to look through and toss, so I'll leave them in boxes for now. By Friday I'll probably toss it all.
-
Some of the stuff is from my mom's house. It's been 20 years, so I guess I can let it go.

Good morning, all.
-
'Tis the third of our three days of rain.
For this week, I mean.
-
I do wish DR Laura would haul some of it away, since her cup is dry while ours runneth over.
-
Today is - damn it to HELL - a ME day.
I'm cleaning up my Music Room and some common areas in support of our li'l fall housecleaning. I shall do it to the strains of good music (as yet to be determined) and I think a couple of film commentaries I'd like to hear.
-
Some of the stuff is from my mom's house. It's been 20 years, so I guess I can let it go.
That's the spirit. It's been six years for me, and I am now letting some things go. "Some", that is. "SOME".
-
Virtually every day is a ME day since retirement.
Some days are more "me" than other days, but it all comes out the same.
-
I have things to do today.
I would rather sit in a chair and drool, but I will get things done, nevertheless.
-
I'm half a week out of sync with the Friday TOD, but yesterday I took out the Val Lewton-produced films and watched the two I've always been least familiar with: The Seventh Victim and Bedlam. I paid attention, I didn't even start dozing off, and I ended up really liking both. I'll listen to the commentaries for those while working in the room today before I move on to others. I enjoy the Lewton films as a kind of runner-up to the Halloween season, even though these two don't really apply, but it's been a few years and I like running through all nine of them in a season.
-
Good morning, crew!
-
Much rain did fall last night.
-
As Glenn Yarborough says, baby the rain must fall.
-
Gonna be a rainy week. They’re throwing around the term “bomb cyclone” which I find ridiculous. In my day we said, “Gonna be a rainy week.”
-
I’ve much to atone for, mostly jackassery from when I was a young and callow fellow.
-
I like feeling like I'm part of a "crew."

Or t-shirts?

Lost a cousin last night. Not unexpectedly, he’d moved to hospice care with bone cancer. Did not last long. Rick had gone off the deep end in recent years with some unfortunate political and religious viewpoints, but when I was a kid, he was an impish life of the party type. Reminded me of Micky Dolenz. And when I was 9 he asked me to give an invocation at his wedding reception which was a big deal for me. We’ve been fortunate among the 52 of us first cousins, this is our 3rd loss and first in many years.
-
I like feeling like I'm part of a "crew."

-
Condolences for DR RODZINSKI.
Yes we first cousins on both sides of my family are dropping off....we lost two last year.
-
I got ANOTHER email about someone trying to log into my Venmo account......I have already removed my bank account information, so I guess it's time to DELETE the entire account.
-
Yikes on the Venmo!
-
Thanks JRand, yeah hope it’s not the start of a trend. Though as happened with the aunts and uncles, the downside of a lot of healthy years is a lot of people start to go at one time.
-
The actual Micky Dolenz has a new album out of covers of songs by R.E.M.

I think he should get a crew cut to distinguish himself from the rest.

They're supposed to alert me when they're shutting off the power for thirty minutes. They rang the doorbell at nine to tell me they'd be working in the yard, but I haven't heard anything going on back there.
-
Alarm went off at eleven and then I slept for another hour.

They got to the corrections VERY quickly and I have what we hope will be the final version of the designed book - so I'll make sure all the corrections got in properly.

Once he succeeds, or gives up trying, we will go to dinner at the hotel restaurant.
-
We have moved to a hotel near the airport since we have an early flight.
-
The alarm is set for 4:20.

GROAN!
-
We had a very nice day and the weather was lovely.

First Craig cooked us breakfast.
-
Then he decided Alexandria was the most convenient town to visit before dropping us off at our hotel.

He had to return home to grade a large stack of work from his students.

I don't know how many first cousins I have. :-\ I know that a couple on my dad's side have died, but I don't know how many I have from my mom's German side.
-
Knowing what I know of Ben Bagley, she never saw a royalty check.
That's too bad!
-
What a thoroughly annoying day. Perhaps the day should be doing the atoning.
-
Remember I told you on Saturday a DWP guy came and told me they were replacing equipment and that they'd be shutting down the power for thirty minutes today. He said he'd let me know before they did it. Check.
-
Nine this morning, DWP comes and reminds me and I remind him he must give me warning before they shut down. He assures me they will. Check.
-
One-thirty the power goes out. I am livid.
-
I go scream at the man on the pole who says they told him it was okay. I said well they didn't tell ME.
-
I find someone else and tell him to get the boss here now.
-
Boss shows up five minutes later and apologizes that they forgot to tell me. I tell him it is NOT good when the computer doesn't shut down properly. He apologizes again.
-
Power comes back twenty minutes later and things are still wonky on the computer in terms of slowness, but it's getting better.
-
On top of that, I get a letter from the DMV saying I have to take a written test before my birthday to renew. And yes, they absolutely target drivers over 70. But it says every FIVE years and it's been THREE. So, now I have to book an appointment and go through all THAT crap again - studying, worrying, all that crap. Absolutely infuriating.
-
I suppose I could fast for another three hours, but why? If this is the kind of day it is, why?
-
I'm going to Gelson's now to see what Jew food they have, if any.
-
Then I will try to put my irritation aside and book the damn DMV appointment for November.
-

Alexandria is a beautiful old town.
-
We drove along the Potomac River and through a lovely part of DC to get there.
-
It has been a day.
Tired I am.
Rest I will.
And it isn't miles to go before I sleep, let me tell you.
-
I got a lot done today.
Never enough, but noticeably better.
-
I had nine first cousins.
-
I now have four first cousins.
-
I was very close with two of the cousins I lost.
-
Both those cousins were daughters of my mother's sisters.
-
Two cousins, both on my father's side were much older and I wasn't close with them.
-
One of those barely ever said hello to me even though I was close with her mother.
-
The other one was nice to me. I just never saw him very often. His younger brother, who is the same age as my brother, I still see at family gatherings.
-
The first cousin I lost was around nineteen when he died of an overdose. He was a little younger than I was. He lived in Germany at the time and I hadn't seen him in a number of years. I had always hoped to see him again.

As Dorothy Parker once said to her boyfriend, Fare thee well.

As Columbus announced, whe knew he was bounced

It was swell, Isabelle, swell

As Abelard said to Eloise

Don’t forget to drop a line to me please

As Juliet cried into Romeo’s ear

Romeo, why not face the facts, my dear

It was just one of those things

Just one of those crazy things
-
One of those bells that now and then rings
-
Just one of those things.

It was just one of those nights
-
Just one of those crazy flights
-
A trip to the moon on gossamer wings
-
Just one of those things
-
If we’d thought a bit

When we started painting the town

We’d have been aware

Was too hot not to cool down

I put it next to “But Not For Me” in my mind.

Well it’s bedtime I think

Well, this is incredible:
Chinese Hearing Impaired Dancers--Thousand Hand Bodhisattva (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUl0JRoQeG4)
-
This is the description:
The bewitching performance of Thousand-hand Bodhisattva dance performed at the 2005 CCTV Spring Festival Gala by 21 hearing impaired girls and boys with the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe (CDPPAT) in Beijing caused a nationwide sensation. The movements were of breathtaking precision. The marvelous choreography, lavish costumes and perfect lighting were a thrilling experience. The audience never stopped wondering at the extraordinary accuracy of the 21 dancers' "thousand hands" gesticulating as if they belonged to one body. The dance was led by Tai lihua and choreographed and directed by Zhang Jigang. On September 28, 2004 at the Closing Ceremony of the 2004 Athens Paralympic Games the eight-minute debut of Thousand-hand Bodhisattva as a "theme song" wonderfully shocked the whole world.
-
One of their videos just randomly showed up on another video's suggested list.
-
Tomorrow, I'm ushering for The Indigo Girls at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts.
-
The two women sang the roles of Jesus and Judas on a studio recording of Jesus Christ Super-star: A Resurrection (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Jesus-Christ-Super-star-A-Resurrection-1994-Studio-Cast/894/).
-
I have that CD but I need to find it.
-
I want to bring it to the theater to see if it can be sent back to them for their autographs.
-
I was told recently that there were no plans for them to come out to the lobby after their show to sign autographs, but someone at the theater said that if I brought my CD, he might be able to ask someone to send it back.
-
If they're amenable to signing it for me, that would be great!
-
But if they don't, that's okay.
-
I totally understand that sometimes they just don't want to do that.
-
In the past, I have had a few things sent back when no one else was able to. ;)

PAGE NINE JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR: A RESURRECTION DANCE!!
-
Oh, my! This is Amazon's "Editorial Review":
What a bizarre concept. Let's get together a whole slew of folkies who, for some inexplicable reason, loved the soundtrack for the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar and rerecord all the songs. Why? To satisfy some childhood obsession, it seems. This has to be the least relevant album of all time. Perhaps if those involved reinterpreted the opera, updated it, gave it some kind of new light or understanding. But that doesn't happen--the versions here offer nothing over the original. Remarkably, this is even worse than the soundtrack to the movie version, which featured the annoying vocals of Ted Neely as Jesus. How do you top that? How about enlisting Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls to play Jesus? Sheesh. --Tod Nelson
-
:o
-
::)
-
If they've seen that review, hopefully, they won't hold it against me wanting their autographs.
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.

I wrote them.
