Well, you've read the notes, you've seen the pretty countryside, and now it is time for you to post until the countryside cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MIRTH!
-
Notes scrutinized. Endured.
-
Hope DR Iris is doing ok. Haven’t heard from her in awhile.
-
I remember when that woman drove on the wrong side of the road. I could not bear to watch that documentary.
-
George my eldest sister will be so jealous if you get the Indigos’ autographs. She’s seen them many times though.

I've never been a specific fan of theirs, so I won't be too upset if they don't sign, but it would be really cool if they do. And if they do, I'll scan the autographs and post it. :)
-
Good morning, friends.
-
What fresh hell do we have today?
-
We have boarded our flight to Chicago
-
Hope DR Iris is doing ok. Haven’t heard from her in awhile.
YES.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept rather well last night, but it was too warm in the apartment and it was a restless sleep.
-
Thinking of you, DR vixmom!

Yesterday, for my birthday, Joshie gave me a wonderful set of headphones, only there's a problem: the plug on the headphones is too large for the headphones socket, which is now on the side of the iMac. I am not amused, and I must see if there's an available adaptor.
-
Well, I just went to Amazon and, looking for "headphones iMac adaptor," I found this photo. When I looked at the plug, I realized nt set might have the same issue. It did and now my headphones work nicely.
-

Yes they were from Long Island, dreadful business.

Glad you were able to resolve this so quickly!

Now I will Wordle

It is, once again, Tuesday. :o
Happily, today is the day pest control comes to protect me from creepy crawlers. Also, happily, if I ever see one, it is NOT crawling. Creepy, yes, but dead. D-E-A-D. One is sorry for them, yes, but if you are a bug, you should be out of doors, not in my house.
Sometime between 1 and 3 p.m., the technician will spray inside my home and then go outside and spray the perimeter.
My mom was always happy with this company, and so am I.

Of course, the rare dead bug I find is nothing compared to the "flying dead things" Bruce once had in a house he owned way back in the early days of this here blog.
THAT is an image that has never left my imagination.
-
I slept very well. I recall that I dreamed...pleasant dreams, none of which I can remember.
Those are the BEST dreams, aren't they!
I hate the ones that haunt me throughout a day.
Even now, looking back at some of the ones I recounted here in weeks past, I have to shudder a bit.
-
My day hasn't yet started.
I have had no coffee, no muffin and am drinking tepid water while I type this. My computer is at a desk on my bedroom end of the den. I haven't made it to the other end that leads into the kitchen.
And "Morning Joe" is probably chattering away, but I don't hear it because I haven't yet gotten to the remote control.
-
I have no idea where today will lead. Given all that I have accomplished since getting up some 15 minutes ago, I have no aspirations of normalcy.
We shall see.
-
Good morning, all.
-
When that ghastly thing happened (it was on the Taconic Parkway) I was obsessed with following the hourly and daily updates on LoHud.com, the Lower Hudson Valley paper that seems to be very good at digging into stories. Just the bare facts known then were sickening enough. I haven't yet seen the documentary, but I probably will watch it sometime.
-
A few years ago we had a wrong-way crash and death (of the innocent person, of course!) on I-84 here in Danbury. I was about a block away on a street near the overpass where it happened, and the sound of the crash was one big boom that might have passed for the opening shot of WW III.
The very idea of a wrong-way crash is horrifying to me, both in the results and in what ghastly state of mind the perp must be in for it to happen in the first place. I'm reminded of that many of the times I'm at any kind of highway entrance.

Tonight I go see Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway.

Excellent! And I'll bet those are good headphones, since they provide the 1/8"-to-1/4" connectors. I got my good ones about four years ago and was very happy that they provided the same. In my case, the 1/4" connector stays on because in most cases I'm plugging into a keyboard or amp, sometimes an interface or mixer.
-
Tonight I go see Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway.
Jealous! :) We of course will expect a full report.
-
Last night I watched another Val Lewton film, I Walked With a Zombie, and today I'll listen to the audio commentary.
-
Tonight I'm going to the Bedford Playhouse for "Classic Tuesdays" to see Robert Altman's take on Raymond Chandler's The Long Goodbye. I was one who most assuredly didn't love it when it came out, because I'd just read several of the Chandlers and watched a couple of the old films, and I wasn't open to such new interpretation. Fast forward a few decades, and I finally understood the value in Altman's vision. It also contains some priceless early-1970s footage of L.A. locations. It will be a pleasure to see it on the big screen.

Weird Amazon thing yesterday. Wife gets an email saying that her package has arrived. In Tennessee. Now we had been scammed before where someone in Georgia ordered a bunch of Amazon stuff off our accounts. It's why I don't Amazon much anymore. But turns out this was going to Columbia, TN. Where my sister and mom moved earlier this year! But we haven't sent them a thing. So we find the delivery photo and I send to my sis and say "Is this your porch?" Yes, it is, and its a package for my mom. Some shoes my mom ordered, for herself, from Amazon. So why did WE get a notification?
That's the mystery. We did not get charged and my wife does not have a TN address saved in her account. My mom can't find anything on her account suggesting why we would be notified.
STRANGE!
-
Better than being scammed. But still STRANGE!

Good Afternoon - off to the SF Giants with my Aunt and Uncle (from my bio-dads side). I don't see them often, but my Aunt does her best to keep a relationship going with my brother and I. My bio-dad is useless, but he's always been that way. I don't hold it against him, cuz that's the way he is. I don't have a relationship with him, but that's cool He lives in Tennessee.. I have nothing against him for sure, it's just the way it is. However, his sister, (My Aunt) does her best to try and see my brother and I. Anyway, more in the memoirs

I do hate studying for the driver's test.

Starting to watch Air. It’s very well made, but I have no interest in it whatsoever.
-
Viola Davis just showed up. It will probably get better now.
-
It did get better. She was the best thing in the movie.
-
I'm posting from my new laptop. I got a Lenovo or LG gram.
-
It has picked up some of my old files from the other computer. That was nice.
-
Now starting to watch what will be a long project, if I get through it: The first season of The Outer Limits
-
I have never seen the show before. The episodes have been cleaned up. The first one looks great.
-
Cliff Robertson is in it.
-
I need to get some watering done tonight.
-
Oh, well. It'll still be a good concert. :)

Well, I'm done with my volunteering for the night.

I'm posting from my new laptop. I got a Lenovo or LG gram.

Very nice.
-
I worked "barback," which essentially means I run the till for one of the bartenders.
-
We had a steady stream as it got closer to the start of the concert, but fortunately no huge lines right before the show started.
-
That's always annoying.
-
That's always annoying.
Yes. It is for everyone. They will have to be seated late. Their hands are full, so they can’t access their tickets. And the expect us to know where they’re sitting. And they’re loud.
-
On that gripe, good night, all.
-
Game was boring - they were shut out 0-4. I’m on the train home now. It was fun catching up with my Aunt and Uncle. I need to try and see them more!
-
Here we go again with the page six malarkey.
-
Back from a good music rehearsal.
-
That said, I hate music-only rehearsals.
-
Although I did adjust the ending of one number, so glad I was there. But it's sheer tedium except for those learning.
-
Taco Tuesday was fine - not enough calories, so I have a 6-inch Subway on its way to me.
-
Should be here in fifteen minutes or so.
-
I do not care for page seven.
-
Hopefully, George won't wait until midnight at the oasis to make an appearance. Should he do so, he WILL be held accountable.
-
Made the DMV appointment for November 14 in the morning. That way, I'll get 70, Girls, 70 open and it's still three weeks ahead of license expiring.
-
Guess I'll have to find some sample tests so I can study up.
-
It's not quite midnight. ::)
-
The Indigo Girls' show was really good...well, what I saw of it.
-
Working barback (like concessions) means that I can't go into the event until everything is put away as necessary.
-
Then I have to come back out before the end of the first act (if there's an intermission) to set up for said intermission.
-
The first act was actually the opening act.
-
I didn't go in at all, but stayed out and listened.
-
It was a guy who sang and I'm pretty sure he played guitar.
-
He sounded good from the lobby.
-
The patrons seemed to respond positively, so that's a good thing.
-
There were longer lines just before the show started, and at the end of intermission, but both times were quite manageable and everyone got their drinks in time.
-
After the Indigo Girls started their set, I stayed out in the lobby to help clean up.
-
A big tub of ice with melted ice water and bottles being kept cold spilled, but fortunately no bottles broke.
-
And it wasn't a huge spill, so that wasn't as bad as it could've been.
-
We put all the stuff away that needed to be brought back to the kitchen area.
-
After everything was put away and cleaned up, I chatted with the house manager about how glad we both were with the results of today's tRump trial. ;D
-
Gratuitous Post #200!!
-
I did eventually go into the concert, and was able to see the last hour.
-
I only missed the first 45 minutes or so of the show.
-
So, I only missed a little less than half...not too bad.
-
The concert just consisted of the two women and another woman playing violin.
-
She was really good.
-
Actually, all three were very good.
-
The two Indigo Girls played various guitars and were really good.
-
The guitars were tuned after each song...a guy would bring out guitars for the women and take the ones they just used for one song.
-
At the end of the next song...he'd bring out the previous guitars and take the ones that were just played.
-

This afternoon, I went to my storage unit looking for my copy of Jesus Christ Superstar: A Resurrection (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Jesus-Christ-Super-star-A-Resurrection-1994-Studio-Cast/894/), but I couldn't find it.
-
It was in a box that wasn't an office box, or really the kind of boxes that were in my storage unit.
-
It wasn't until I got home and saw on shelves in my garage the boxes that had a bunch of my CDs...the kind of boxes that I was looking for. ::)
-
I confirmed that the boxes pretty much contained nothing but CDs, but I didn't specifically look for the JCSS:TR CD.
-
I just know that it's most likely in there.
-
I'll look for it soon because I do actually want to listen to it.
-
It's (obviously) been YEARS since I've heard it.
