Well, you've read the notes, the notes hit the notes, and now it is time for you to post until the cows hit the cows and come home.

Today's topic of discussion: BENEFICIAL!

I really should go to bed.

My Dr is recommending Ozempic for T2D. I've been reading about side effects and things like that. I'll try anything, but this seems like a lot of side effects. I realize medication reacts differently for everyone. I'll probably have a go at it and see what happens.

A friend of mine is also diabetic and she was prescribed Ozempic for a while. It had some side effects that weren't too nice ::) but then she was prescribed Jardiance and it's much better for her.

Good morning, all.

The morning rudely greeted me with an Xfinity outage. They’re doing work in the neighborhood. This could go on through the day, so I can only log in over the cell phone, and posting over the phone is rarely my idea of a good time. So I’ll see yez all later!

I’ve been reading some of these stories, too. I’m on Maunjaro, which has helped. But it also has its drawbacks. I have lost 45 pounds and kept it off. So far. But getting the prescription filled is another problem since the supply is scarce.

A friend at work is pre diabetic. She went on Maunjaro. She lost 60 pounds. Problem is, the medicine is only covered for diabetics on our insurance plan. I pay $7 a month. The insurance company is giving her no discount. She pays $450 for the same prescription.

I'm up! I'm up!
Went to bed shortly after midnight, and now I am up at 10:10 a.m.
Good night's sleep, too.
I could have gotten out of bed around 6, but my brain said NO.

I have two medical appointments this week.
One is tomorrow afternoon for the CT scan my ENT doctor wants me to have. My hearing is still slowly returning in my left ear. Sometimes, it seems normal, but other times it seems to get muffled. Mustn't get used to that without knowing why it's happening.
The other is Thursday morning. I get the inserts for my shoes...these are orthotic inserts to help me take pressure off the ball of my feet so I don't encourage more callouses.
All in all, each visit is a good step (ahem!) forward in preventative care.
-
I wish I had exciting things to talk about, but my life is about as humdrum lately as it has ever been. I don't even have changing policies to plague me.
Of course, I am glad of that, but I know how frustrating they can be. I am still perplexed by, annoyed with, and angry about automatic spellcheck...especially on my iPhone.
I can type a four letter word and find a three-word phrase has replaced it. AI sucks!

That's the one he mentioned. I do trust his decidions. One just has to remember that each person will react differently. It's worth a try, I suppose.

With all the terrible stories in the news it is nice to read a heartwarming one.
-
A postal working noticed the dog was bitten by a copperhead snake.
-
She took a photo of the snake.
-
Then typed a note on her phone, “little beagle bit by copperhead,” and held it up to the camera at the house.
-
She then took the dog to the emergency vet, along with the photo of the snake to show the vet to confirm it was a Copperhead.
-
The dog is home recovering, in some pain but alive.
-
The postal worker normally gave treats to the little beagle when delivering the mail and that might have been when she noticed the dog getting bitten.

No. She’s spreading out the shots to one every three weeks or so instead of weekly.

There is a sushi restaurant in Milwaukee I think it great.
-
When we were in Bend I got Keith to go into a sushi restaurant which turned out to be rather bad.
-
I told him if he didn't like the sushi at the Milwaukee restaurant I would never ask him to go to another sushi restaurant.
-
Thank goodness he agreed with me that the food in Milwaukee is great.
-
While the restaurant isn't fancy they know how to decorate the plates beautifully.

Here is one platter with pretty flowers.

I have a third photo of Freyja with the fox they made for her platter.

I expect he will be using later :)

I put a bowl out for my portion of popcorn.

I'm glad I didn't eat too much for dinner.
-
Still, I am currently too full to eat popcorn.

I expect to be ready to eat it by the time he pops it.

Guess I should sign off as it will soon be popping time.

DR JOHN G does it bother JB when you put one of his cousins in the oven?
He just wants a piece when it’s done.
-
The opera was a dress rehearsal before 500-600 students, who loved it.
-
The Hansel got sick, so a woman who has sung the part came in from Houston to sing it. She was in a corner of the stage. Meanwhile the choreographer performed Hansel.
-
I’ve seen something like this several times before. Reinforces the magic of live theater.
-
One of those times was the closing night of Busker Alley. Tommy Tune with a cast of his leg acted and sang, but his understudy and director Jeff Calhoun both performed the dances.
-
Humperdinck’s music was well respected by the full orchestra and the singers, but there were some modern touches in the staging.
-
The choreography was modern with Hansel and Gretel both busting some hip-hop moves, which the students loved.
-
The witch was almost like a drag queen, who strips off her punk pink hair to reveal a bald head. Again, the audience loved it.
-
Happy news indeed. It’s seven!
-
A Sondheim reference
-
I’ve seen something like this several times before. Reinforces the magic of live theater.
So have I. During a local production of Jesus Christ Superstar, the guy playing Jesus lost his voice, so for one performance that I saw, the music director sang most, but not all of the show from the orchestra (they were just off to the side of the stage).
-
And then for the other performance in the same run, they brought in another singer to sing the whole role.
-
Both times, the original actor "lip syched" his performance to the live off stage singing.
-
A Sondheim reference
;D
-
There were supertitles, even with the English libretto.
-
Hello, George.
-
Another Sondheim reference
-
Sit down Hello, John. (Almost 1776 reference. ;) )

I saw that Mandy Patinkin is coming in concert next March.
