Well, you've read the notes, the notes were all shook up, and now it is time for you to post until the all shook up cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PARAGON!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept poorly. I had a strange dream involving the NYC Gay Men's Chorus and the Kurt Weill Foundation.
-
I am on my way to my EYEBALL exam.
I hope I pass.
I may also choose some new spectacles. We shall see.
This is a new doctor and store for me....so we shall see.
-
I saw EARTHQUAKE and have had some rumbling in my right ear since when certain frequencies are played.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I saw Earthquake at the Chinese. Not on opening day, but certainly within the first few days.
-
I need to schedule my own EYEBALL exam. I don't have the cataract surgery till January but the regular exam is due now.
I also need to get a quick - and cheap - pair of glasses to wear in the last few weeks before the surgeries. Or rather, before the exam before the surgeries where they take the EYEBALL measurements. You can't wear contacts in those few weeks or you'll f--- up the measurements.
-
DR CHAS SMITH I sometimes buy a pair at Eyeglasses.com......
You just have to enter a copy of your prescription on the website and choose your frames, lenses, etc......$100 or so but they have some frames on sale for less than $10......so if it's just temporary, you could save some dough re mi.
-
$70 for the exam......$300 of my glasses cost was covered by some insurance and the other $90 or so was covered by my Humana yearly $1000.......
So I could have gotten two pairs......but that's okay.....

EYEBALL Vibes for Dr. JackRandallEarles (aka JRAND73) and all them what needs 'em.

Beautiful Monday in Johnston SC.
My yard man is supposed to come day and remove two rows of hedges...one behind the house and one at the foot of my driveway.
Whether he gets here or not depends upon his regular yard work schedules. I have no deadline for him..
-
From DR Laura:
My DH was racing with the grandson and the neighbor kids the other day and took a nasty fall. He's pretty banged up. Grandson was afraid he would die. After all, Uncle Leroy fell and then he died. (Uncle Leroy was about 94.)
Quick recovery vibes for your DH.
Poor Grandson, sweet & funny. He is at that age of awareness.
-
From George:
So, yesterday, I ushered for a one-woman show called Every Beautiful Thing, about a woman whose mother attempted suicide twice, and she (the woman) starts writing a list of beautiful things to help cheer up her mother.
I gather this is based on her experience with her mother. I think I would find it to close to home to watch.
-
From George:
Who's disappearing? I'm in the middle of telling a story!
;D
-
George, your story was interesting.
-
It is a rainy day here.
-
Now it makes sense!
-
I'm up, I'm up - I managed to get in bed by one, fell asleep instantly, and got eight really good hours of sleep.
-
And of course awoke to the text I was expecting, to which I responded in a most humorous way.
-
Why are we on page one?
-
Is Jane on yet ANOTHER trip? Guam? Portofino? Pad Thai?
-
DR CHAS SMITH - EyeBuy Direct is where I go.....I wrote it down wrong in the post above.
-
Page One is strange at this time of day.
-
My new glasses will be in on October 24.
-
This new eye doctor also told me that my right eye is slightly higher in my head than my left eye.
And that is why sometimes I have double vision for a moment or two.
He gave it a name, but I don't remember what it is.
I guess it's not a common condition. I decided to call it Quasimodo.
-
Hedge removal vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
-
Where is Page Two?
-
Here she be.
-
Called the regular EYEBALL doctor and they said don't even bother to come in till after I've had the surgeries. No point in having an exam just before everything changes.
I got my eyeglasses prescription (which was just about to expire - whew!) and will start checking around. Thank you, DR Jrand73.

Nope. It's a scripted play by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe.

Here's the author's note from the published script:

And here's the list of Characters and Note:

George, your story was interesting.
Thanks, Jane!

Is Jane on yet ANOTHER trip? Guam? Portofino? Pad Thai?
Noooo. Next month I am supposed to go to north for a night to see my friend from Israel. I will be shocked if that happens.

We had a Great Egret hanging out here over the weekend.
-
They are fun to watch walk as their long necks lead the way :)

Bruce have you ever tried Rhinocort Allergy (budesonide) nasal spray or Flonase for your extreme allergy seasons? I used Rhinocort (perscription but now it is over the counter) for years. I would start taking it at the first signs of my spring allergies and stay on it until the season was over. It made an incredible difference.
-
Hedge removal vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
The relevant news here is that those hedges aren't going to come up. At least, not by the roots. They are MASSIVE and the guy was afraid that the removal might damage my foundation in the back and the drive's retaining wall. So, they are being cut way, way back. Cut down, actually, but the roots remain visible. The plan now is to spray them thoroughly until they begin to rot and then grind them down later.
Meantime, I may spray them white and put lights on 'em or something. Not.
-
And here's the list of Characters and Note:
I can't quite visualize it.
-
I have been blowing my nose a lot today and sneezing. I think I may have a slight cold.
My breathing is still very good, so it's not a return to the sinus issues I previously had.
-
Good afternoon!

Flonase (or, fluticasone propionate) is what I use twice daily. It is this spray that shrank my polyps.
Budesonide is what I use in my NeilMed squeeze bottle to clear my sinuses.

Good afternoon!
Yo!

I would like to see a photo of the white hedges.

Good Afternoon - sitting in a Faculty Meeting bored as all get out. My cold is better, I switch my cold medicine and miraculously my blood sugar went down. So, I'm happy about that. Other than that, I'm playing for a high school production of Pippin this week, so that is fun. I love the show, it's so fun!

I always thought it was one or the other. I started with Flonase and didn't like it so my doctor switched me to Rhinocort.
-
Keith preferred Flonase.

I expected you to be extra busy with family. Time to relax and read is always nice.

Tylenol Cold and Flu was jacking my blood sugar up so I switched to Mucinex DM and my blood sugar is down and my cough is on its way out. Thank you for asking. :-)
-
Thanks DR Matthew. I don't normally use cold medicines but it is good to know which one won't up the blood sugar. I'm glad the Mucinex is working better.
-
It is pouring outside.
-
We have flood warnings.
-
I'm not worried about them.
-
We picked a good time to walk with only a very light rain which turned to heavy rain right after we returned home.

Page THREE? Really? This is worse than yesterday. How will we EVER be the most popular site on all the Internet.
-
Had Pad Thai for food.
-
Not the best, not the worst.
-
Not the worst, not the best.
-
But a nice portion.
-
The portion was nice.
-
It was a fine portion.
-
Otherwise, other than some telephonic calls and lots of email flurries, I've just been relaxing and vacuuming my brain.
-
One simply must every now and then.
-
I'll try those nose sprays.
-
Allergies have been calm today, thank goodness.
-
Is there gaslighting going on?
-
We've been on this page forever and a day.
-
See?

~~~CONTINUED MODERN MAJOR MIRACLE VIBES~~~ for the likes of BK!!!!
Unexciting but eatable ;D
Watching Baddassss!
-
Adam West has a hysterical cameo.
-
Haven’t seen this movie since it came out.
-
Very early Rainn Wilson.
-
Then I can watch the original Sweet Sweetback’s Badddasss Song again. .
-
Cleared out some brush tonight. It felt good. I was surprised I had energy for it.
-
I wish my bed app was correct and I was sleeping.
-
'night
-
The Earth, Wind and Fire score for the movie is still amazing.
-
DR JRand73 said "Hedges can be vital".
Yes, they can. In my case, however, I have no neighbors on either side of me. A pond is behind me.
-
Sleep number beds also track your sleep habits.
Only if you hook them up to the internet. We did not want that feature.
-
I saw Earthquake at the Chinese. Not on opening day, but certainly within the first few days.
I read that as “ I saw Earthquake in Chinese “
So good morning
-
Good afternoon
And good evening
-
Vixdad decided to avail himself of a hire car after all once he learned that the other guys insurance would cover it and that he woukd be allowed to park at the train station in the handicapped section with his tag even though he doesn’t have the parking permit on this car
-
So this morning I took him to the Enterprise up the block and he has custody of a pretty white Elantra
-
We’ll bring it back Friday morning before we set off to see the kids
-
Apparently there is no expectation that his car will be ready before we leave
-
I went to my dentist’s office this evening for a cleaning
-
They suggested I might benefit from a “deep cleaning” which apparently involves needles and pockets and two visits and 2 or 3 days of recuperating afterwards
-
They offered to do this most appealing sounding service for the bargain basement price of $1100.00
-
But no fear! My insurance company would kick in $115 towards that.
-
Page five must be around here somewhere.
-
See?
-
It was a hard decision, but in the end, I decided to decline their enticing offer.
-
I can warn that there are LONG notes coming at midnight.
-
See?
You’re welcome !
-
I only have three more days of work.
-
Of course today I was suddenly inundated with files
-
I f hate leaving anything undone so I hope I can like straight through this stuff quickly
-
I’ll be late in tomorrow morning since I have my yearly with my beloved oncologist.
-
I figure I’ll work through lunch to catch up
-
Tomorrow will also be the 36th anniversary of Vixdad and me tying the knot
-
My time flies when you’re having fun!
-
We have no particular plans for celebrating, but will wait to do that when we see the kids this coming weekend
I once had my teeth "deep cleaned," but there was really no recovery time, and it certainly didn't cost that much! :o
Listened to Herb Alpert’s new album, Wish Upon a Star. It was quite pleasant.
-
Now listening to a Japanese ghost story. These are gruesome.
-
Some of those samurai movies seem tame in comparison.
-
I also saw the first 15 minutes of Sweet Sweetback.
-
During a bath earlier I started Nikki Giovanni’s latest volume of poetry, Love Poems.
-
They’re giddy, joyous and fun.
-
“lyric you in lilacs” was my favorite line.
-
Oysters have seas Some dogs have fleas
Though bricks and mortar are sticking
-
Giovanni is from Lincoln Heights in Cincinnati.
-
The same area as the Isley Brothers.
-
Six!
-
I once covered the area and was lucky enough to interview her.
-
A fond memory of my three months there. I
-
I moved to Middletown after that.
-
Where I interviewed Larry.
-
The rest is history.
-
I’m history today.
-
Good night, all.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Vixmom, try Closys mouthwash. It works wonders. One capful twice a day for two weeks turned my problem gums around. About $12 /bottle. Available at Amazon and some drugstores. If you’re still having gum issues, then you can consider — or not — the deep cleaning. My deep cleaning was unpleasant and expensive. I wish I’d known about Closys back then.
-
My accident with the bagel yesterday did more damage than I thought. At least two crowns were fractured. I’ll see the dentist tomorrow. $$$.
-
I watched ANNIKA tonight. I like the show and am glad it’s back, but I miss some dialogue due to the accents.
-
Recovery vibes to DR Laura’s DH.
-
Recovery vibes to Bk, too, if he still needs them.
-
As Vixmom said, stay upright, everyone.
-
Good night.
-
Recovery vibes to you too, Dear Jeanne!
-
I have a funky LP from 1971 by Nikki Giovanni.
-
I just had to look up a Melvin Van Peebles short film I saw once.
-
It was part of an anthology of four shorts under the name Tales of Erotica.
-
They were all inane. But directed by Van Peebles, Ken Russell, Susan Seidelman and Bob Rafelson.
-
A lot of talent for something few ever saw or heard of.
-
In Van Peebles’ short, a young man has sex with a motorcycle that can magically turn into a woman.
-
Page six? Again?
-
Hopefully, George will be with us soon.
-
I remember Arlys Howard is in one where he’s a hot tub salesman.
-
I actually wrote most of the notes earlier, so it was easy to finish them.
-
My accident with the bagel yesterday did more damage than I thought. At least two crowns were fractured. I’ll see the dentist tomorrow. $$$.
Oh, my goodness! :o
-
I’m doin’ my best here!
-
I'll have to check out the new Herb Alpert album.
-
Recovery vibes to you too, Dear Jeanne!
~~~DITTO!!~~~
-
Looking forward to The Long Good Notes.
-
What?
-
Listening to Herb now.
-
Did someone say something?
-
And then?
-
Do we need a horn cover of East Bound and Down in the year 2023?
-
Hoping for another good night's sleep. I'll try to be in bed by one again - that's helpful.
-
No but it’s fun.
-
Time for an allergy pill.
-
I know this because I just - sneezed.
-
Oh, and I do not care for page seven.
-
Siren sound effects! It’s like Herb is putting us right back in the black Trans-Am with Burt and Sally.
-
It must be said and it has been said.
-
A return to those early A&M glory days with a cover of We’ve Only Just Begun.
-
BE the change off of page 7 you want to see!
-
Teeth vibes for Jeanne
-
Some We Five-esque vocals to close out We’ve Only Just Begun.
-
Good night folks
-
A&M had a great series of similarly packaged 2-lp sets by all their big acts.
The Sergio Mendes Four-Sider
The Sandpipers Four-Sider
Liza Minnelli.. etc
A triumph of packaging.
-
Herb sounding gentle on a Father and Son cover.
-
A&M’s art direction and packaging in those days was glorious.
-
Who doesn’t love The Sandpipers?
-
Switching to some Sandpipers now…
-
There were only 5 in the Foursiders series according to the net.
The TJB
BK’s pals the Marimbas
Mendes
Liza
Sandpipers
-
No Chris Montez Foursider!
-
Or Wes Montgomery
-
George went away???
-
Really?
-
He WILL be held accountable.
-
No free tacos for him.
-
The We Five
-
The We Eight
-
Cuz We made it to page Eight!
-
The Tamba 4, an A&M group that didn’t get enough traction.
-
Roger Nicholls’ Small Circle of Friends was always advertised on the A&M inner sleeve. I grabbed it for a buck years ago. It fetches over $120 now out in the world.
-
That’s all I’ve got about the golden age of A&M for now.
-
George went away???
Never fear...I will ALWAYS return. :)
-
Cuz We made it to page Eight!
Thanks, Rodzinski!
-
Tonight, Kyle and I were going to get together to finish episode 1 of our podcast, but it didn't work out, so we're going to finish it on Sunday.
-
Someone posted this on the Finishing the Chat group on Facebook:
Joanna Merlin, “Fiddler on the Roof” star and prolific Broadway casting director, dies at 92 (https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/joanna-merlin-fiddler-on-the-roof-star-and-prolific-broadway-casting-director-dies-at-92/ar-AA1ijtae?OCID=ansmsnnews11)
Merlin was Hal Prince's longtime casting director of choice, working on all of his musical collaborations with Stephen Sondheim.
-
Wow...92 years old. Sounds like she had a good, long life. :)
