Well, you've read the notes, the notes were healthy and had energy, and now it is time for you to post until the healthy and energetic cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RADIANT!
-
Dear reader John G's review is up on Amazon, too, so check it out - it's lovely.

Just before the day closed yesterday, I was literally about to post:
And our very own Guy Haines recorded a pretty darned good version of "What Can You Lose?" too. :)

That's great!

Good morning, all!
-
I really slept in this morning. The cats behaved; no one threw a fit.
-
Today is "Spanish Panic #2" day. This is the Spanish Panic on the original cast recording.

Glad you liked it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Don’t want to get up today.
-
And I have to restart my computer. I could have slept 5 minutes more.
-
Nice review DR JOHN G.
-
Feel better vibes for DR RON PULLIAM.
I, too, woke up this morning feeling a bit dauncey as Lucy Ricardo would say.
No word yet from the Car Place, I am thinking he had to have a tire delivered from someplace else. It will be reflected on the bill.
-
Rehearsal and cast health vibes for MR BK & Co.
And continued Major Miracle Vibes for MR BK.
-
Another reboot. Do these things come in threes?
-
I like ice skating as well.....but most of it seems rather lackluster right now.
And I don't like several of the announcers and color people.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Last nice day before the weekly deluge. It will rain pretty much all day Friday and Saturday.
-
I shall get in some work with the weed whacker today. And maybe the lawnmower.
-
Good health and energy vibes to all! The crap is definitely going around here, as I’m sure it is everywhere. BK can’t seem to catch a break with that show, and a couple of shows here have suffered likewise. May our fortunes improve posthaste.
-
Very rainy dreary day today.
I doubt that we will see any sun.
-
TOD:
I like to make a Jimmy Dean sausage, egg, & cheese croissant....one minute on each side in the microwave.....the right size for a nibble in the wee hours of the night.
-
Sidney Powell pleads guilty.
-
I can’t eat late-night snacks anymore. Not good for the blood sugar.
But back in the day: ice cream. Definitely ice cream.
-
I like ice skating as well.....but most of it seems rather lackluster right now.
And I don't like several of the announcers and color people.
Ilia Malinin is rather exciting, but he has now declared he will not be doing the quad axel this season. That was his "money jump".
As for announcers, it is Johnny Weir and only Johnny Weir who creeps me out. Not in his commentary but in his on-screen appearances. He repulses me in a way no one has ever repulsed me.
-
Thanks for the feel better vibes, y'all.
I do feel better although not without ongoing GI issues. Yoicks!
-
More than anyone wanted to know or visualize, I am sure.
-
I wish people on news programs were more aware of self-editing.
On the "Morning Joe" show, Joe, himself, is seemingly incapable of asking a simple question without going on and on about remotely related thoughts that won't impact the interviewee's answer.
He is not alone, of course. Many news people laboriously ask questions that would have me, as an interviewee, asking for a repeat of the cogent question because I would have lost track of what it actually was.
And there are folks they interview who provide interesting commentary which then devolve into unnecessary dissection of their thought processes which bore the crap out of me.
On "Morning Joe", I am always happy when Willie Geist is on because he keeps it simple. He is on target with his questions and generally can stop a reponder, gently, from going off on tangents,
Mika generally gets Joe to shut up, but only occasionally.
-
I yell at my TV quite a bit during news.
-
And that's the truth!
-
DR Ron I am glad you are feeling better. Moving to the chair probably helped you, at least by removing some of your stress. I gather you kept a phone near you.
-
Be well vibes for DR Ron and all of us!
-
DR George good news regarding your mother. I hope her symtoms are completely gone.

DR George today you just might break my long held record of being the highest poster after Bruce.
-
From Me:
I will watch for the photo :)

I truly expected a photo of your major milestone.

At the rate you have been posting you will leave me in the dust ;)

I think Frank made the song too much about himself. This is way too much about the singer.

I expect that is impossible ;D

It would be something to see ;)

Congratulations on your milestone, Jane.

Putrid. I was completely underwhelmed. To quote another Rodgers & Hart song, I like to recognize the tune.

But how do you really feel?
-
I love that the idiots who produce these stupid revivals think allowing a camera in the rehearsal room, where they proceed to do a fully-rehearsed number as if it was just another rehearsal, is a good idea. It looks and sounds awful.

And now for something completely different:

Hi, everyone.

I was making good progress on Kritzer World, until my Aunt who is having severe eyesight issues commandeered my Kindle. It gives me great joy to see her being able to enjoy reading again.

DR Singdaw your story is heartwarming. I am very happy for your aunt. Will she soon have a Kindle or tablet?

I often have that problem ;D
-
CONGRATULATIONS to DR Jane on your lofty new perch in the HHW firmament!
DR John, look what you started ;D ;)
-
I had to stop reading hardcover books as they were too heavy for my shoulder.
-
Most paperbacks had terrible, rather light small print that was hard for me to see.
-
I didn't want my first Nook but once I had it, I was hooked.
-
Pros:
I could make the print easy for me to see.
I didn't need a flashlight at night to read.
It stayed steady so I could read while on the treadmill.
-
DR Singdaw I can truly appreciate how happy it made your aunt to be able to read.

Gratuitous Post #103!! ;)

I didn't want my first Nook but once I had it, I was hooked.
Same with me and my first Kindle.
-
I had no idea there is an October Black Friday for shopping.
-
It just saved me money on calendars at calendars.com.
-
Plus I got free shipping.
-
Grab that Kindle back!
-
Had Pad Thai for food - very good batch.
-
Relaxing and will now shower - I'll be on my way at six.
-
I'm now at South Puget Sound Community College to work concessions with beer and wine for tonight's performance of Every Beautiful Thing.
-
Here's the work station from my perspective:
-
I also have three different sodas and two white wines.
-
However, I'm going to wait until it's closer to the lobby opening before I get them out of the fridge.

I don't eat late night snacks except occassionally when we are traveling. Then it might be some peanuts.

Forbidden Sondheim: Merrily We Stole a Song is Alessandrini’s latest. Sounds wonderful.
-
Good night, all.

2nd hand Burt Young story: guy came into a bar I was in, fresh out of watching a play reading at the Actor’s Studio nearby. He said the reading didn’t go well because Burt Young was reading and he was mumbling his part, inaudibly. When someone asked if he could speak up, he went off his nut, cursing everyone out for having the audacity of telling him how to act. And…scene.
-
Really? Page five? And not very far. WHO is not posting?
-
Back from rehearsal.
-
I do not understand page five.
-
Someone WILL be held accountable.
-
Really? Page five? And not very far. WHO is not posting?
Me!
-
Me am not posting
-
This morning I couldn’t sign in, it just would not connect so off to work went i
-
Then I worked straight through lunch and until 6 pm
-
But I left my desk in very good shape for my vacation
-
Then I went to the grocery to buy sandwich makings for our two day car journey
-
Then I gassed up the car from totally “ the warning light is on” empty
-

-
$58.00 filled the tank
-
I bought a mega millions with my $2 change
-
Then I went home and made dinner
-
Did a load of laundry
-
Ironed the church linens
-
Took out the garbage
-
Packed my clothes for the trip
-
Packed the necessities for the trip
-
Packed the puzzle and painting supplies
-
Organized the Vixter baby stuff I’ve saved lo these many years , handmade blankets and sweaters, booties and the like I’m bringing down for the Vixter to use or pass on to a friend with a baby
-
And THAT is why I was not posting
-
I had hoped my Kritzerworld book would have been here for the trip - I don’t kindle
-
I must get some sleep
-
But perhaps I’ll Wordle first , I doubt I’ll have time in the morning

-
OLD MAN
Pardon me, I was there.
-
RECITER
You were where?
-
OLD MAN
At the treaty house.
-
RECITER
At the treaty house?
-
OLD MAN
There was a tree
-
RECITER
Which was where?
-
OLD MAN
Very near.
-
RECITER
Over here?
-
OLD MAN
Maybe over there,
-
But there were trees then, everywhere.
May I show you?
-
RECITER
If you please.
-
OLD MAN
There were trees
Then, everywhere.
-
RECITER
But you were there.
-
OLD MAN
And I was there!
-
Let me show you.
-
RECITER
If you please.
-
OLD MAN
(tries to climb)
I was younger then
(tries again)
-
I was good at climbing trees
(again)
I was younger then
(again)
-
I saw everything!
(again)
I was hidden all the time
(again)
-
It was easier to climb
(again)
I was younger then
(again)
-
I saw everything!
(again)
-
Where they came and where they went
I was part of the event.
-
I was someone in a tree!
(tries once more)
-
I was younger then!
-
PAGE SEVEN PACIFIC OVERTURES DANCE!!
-
(Suddenly, a Young Boy appears, scurries across the stage, and up the tree.)
BOY
(to the Old Man)
Tell him what I see!
-
OLD MAN
I am in a tree.
I am ten.
I am in a tree.
-
BOY
I was younger then.
-
OLD MAN
In between the eaves I can see
(to the Boy)
Tell me what I see.
(to the Reciter)
I was only ten.
-
BOY
I see men and matting.
Some are old, some chatting.
-
OLD MAN
If it happened, I was there!
-
BOTH
I saw/see everything!
-
OLD MAN
I was someone in a tree.
-
BOY
Tell him what I see!
-
OLD MAN
Some of them have gold on their coats.
-
BOY
One of them has gold.
(to the Reciter)
He was younger then.
-
OLD MAN
Someone crawls around passing notes
-
BOY
Someone very old
-
OLD MAN
(to the Reciter)
He was only ten.
-
BOY
And there's someone in a tree
-
OLD MAN
Or the day is incomplete.
-
BOTH
Without someone in a tree,
Nothing happened here.
-
OLD MAN
I am hiding in a tree.
-
BOY
I'm a fragment of the day.
-
BOTH
If I weren't, who's to say
Things would happen here the way
That they happened here?
-
OLD MAN
I was there then.
-
BOY
I am here still.
It's the fragment, not the day.
-
OLD MAN
It's the pebble, not the stream.
-
BOTH
It's the ripple, not the sea.
Not the building but the beam,
-
Not the garden but the stone,
Not the treaty house,
Someone in a tree.
-
WARRIOR
(slides panel open underneath the house)
Pardon me, I am here
If you please, I am also here
-
OLD MAN
They kept drinking cups of tea.
-
BOY
They kept sitting on the floor.
-
BOTH
They drank many cups of tea.
(to each other)
No, we told him that before.
-
eight!!!!!!!!
-
WARRIOR
If you please, I am here.
-
RECITER
You are where?
-
WARRIOR
In the treaty house.
-
RECITER
In the treaty house?
-
WARRIOR
Or very near.
-
RECITER
Can you hear?
-
WARRIOR
I'm below.
-
RECITER
So I notice.
-
WARRIOR
Underneath the floor,
And so I can't see anything.
-
I can hear them,
But I can't see anything.
-
RECITER
But you can hear?
-
WARRIOR
But I can hear.
-
Shall I listen?
-
RECITER
If you please.
-
WARRIOR
I can hear them now
I shall try to shift my knees
I can hear them now
I hear everything
-
I'm the part that's underneath,
With my sword inside my sheath.
I can hear them now
One is over me
-
If they knock, then I appear.
I'm a part of what I hear.
I'm the fragment underneath.
I can hear them now!
-
RECITER, OLD MAN, BOY
Tell us what you hear!
-
New notes are up.
-
Up are new notes.
-
I've seen them.
-
I've read them.
-
I wrote them.
-
I'll let George complete the lyrics.
-
WARRIOR
First I hear a creak and a thump
Now I hear a clink
Then they talk a bit...
-
Many times they shout when they speak
Other times they think
Or they argue it...
-
I hear floorboards groaning...
Angry growls... Much droning...
Since I hear them, they are there
As they argue it
I'm the listener underneath
-
BOY
Someone reads a list
From a box
-
WARRIOR
Someone talks of laws
-
OLD MAN
Then they fan a bit
-
Whew! Page Nine! ;)
-
BOY
Someone bangs a fist
-
WARRIOR
Someone knocks
-
OLD MAN
Now there was a pause
-
OLD MAN, BOY & WARRIOR
Then they argue it:
-
WARRIOR
"But we want..."
"No, you can't
And we won't..."
"But we need it
And we want..."
"Will you grant —"
"If you don't..."
"We concede it..."
-
OLD MAN
And they sat through the night
And they lit yellow tapers
-
WARRIOR
I can hear them
I'm a fragment of the day
-
BOY
And they chat
And they fight
And they sit signing papers
I am there still
-
OLD MAN
I was there then
-
OLD MAN & WARRIOR
If I weren't, who's to say
Things would happen here the way
-
BOY
If I weren't, who's to say
-
OLD MAN, BOY & WARRIOR
That they're happening?
-
It's the fragment, not the day
It's the pebble, not the stream
-
It's the ripple, not the sea
That is happening
-
Not the building but the beam
Not the garden but the stone
-
Only cups of tea
-
And history
-
And someone in a tree!
-
:D
-
Lyrics (and Music) by Stephen Sondheim.

And, of course, here's the complete original 1976 Broadway production!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ546PASgHI (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ546PASgHI)
-
One interesting fact is that Mark Hsu Syers, who played the warrior under the treaty house as well as the Russian admiral in "Please Hello," went on to play Magaldi in the original Broadway production of Evita!
-
Sadly, he died in a motorcycle accident at age 31. :(
