Well, you've read the notes, the notes were of yester, and now it is time for you to post until the day cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: QUINTESSENCE!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
I was able to finish Kritzer World, and I loved it. I will write and post a review when I am back home.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slept very well. Annabelle and Stella were with me most of the night. Around 5:30 Stella left and Thatch replaced her. He, Annabelle, and I cuddled until 6:15, when I decided I had to get out of bed.
-
I had a huge brain fart this past week and forgot to pay an important bill. This lapse will bite my ass for the rest of the month.
-
I also got the sad news yesterday that a good friend I've known for fifty years has had a return of colon cancer.
-
Last night I watched a Netflix holiday rom com, Single All the Way, with Michael Urie, Barry Bostwick, Jennifer Coolidge, and a fun cast. Its beginning left me cold: too much like a cutesie-poo Hallmark Christmas movie, and I had serious doubts I'd stick it out. It turned out to be not bad at all and certainly better than the last Hallmark film I tried to watch.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I’m sorry to hear about your friend, DR Elmore.
-
Today’s the day my MacBook was estimated to be ready to come home from the hospital. Will it happen? I won’t know for a while, but tomorrow would be all right, too.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Waiting to renew my drivers license. And I will be waiting awhile.
-
Sorry about your friend, Elmore.

TOD
Did I post this? I don’t think so. We’ve been watching GHOST STORY, aka CIRCLE OF FEAR, the William Castle-produced series from 1972-73. I bought the set when it was released, but only ever watched BK’s episode with Patricia Neal and the one with John Astin and Patty Duke and maybe one or two others. But last week I was inspired to take it out, we started with the first episode, and we were very pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it. We’ve now seen the first six, and I’d say three of those are solid…and there’s just something very satisfying about the show in general. It’s good comfort food, but more than that. The amount of talent, both in front of and behind the camera, is astounding, and why I never saw it back in ‘72 is a mystery. I’m delighted to welcome it into my fold.
-
Waitress is going be in theaters in early December. I might go.

-
Tonight: DRACULA.
I cannot wait to see this on stage at last. Whether it turns out to be great fun, or silly or boring, or what have you, I will finally have experienced it. Frankly, I don’t know what to expect. The group had announced it as being the Deane-Balderston play, but their publicity leaves me wondering if that’s been further revised or exactly what we’ll be getting. Well, we shall see.
-
Good morning, all.
It is Friday, October 20th.
As quickly as this month has zoomed by, there are still 11 days left in it.
In 12 days, we will all "fall back" an hour.
In 18 days, I shall take a few days to go to the beach.
After that, heaven knows!!

Today is the 72nd birthday of my cousin Rick. We spoke on the phone this morning.
It was nice, for a while, but the more he rambled, the more he began sounding like someone i just don't know any longer.
Everything was about money, money, money. I know he is loaded, but his wife is materialistic to the nth degree.
They have a unique life that involves TV religious personalities, Fox News and just about any and every conspiracy theory that comes along.
I had to stop our conversation when he began suggesting the Chinese started the Hawaii fires with a laser, and how Oprah Winfrey is actually buying up huge swaths of land that is suddenly on the market because of the fire.
The mind boggles.
-
Notes munched. Lunched.
-
If only their unique life was unique these days, DR Ron. I have neighbors like that. An in-law like that, possibly one of my sisters…. All too common, I fear.
-
In fact, my own cousin Rick, who recently passed away, was deep in the weeds of religio-conspiracy shenanigans. Hope he has all the answers now.
-
Friday - I hope I get my car back today.
-
DR ELMORE sorry to hear about your friend.
-
Rehearsal & coping vibes for MR BK......
-
Another gloomy day with no sun.
-
DR RON PULLIAM I sometimes like to hear Johnny Weir's comments, but I certainly share your aversion to how he presents himself.....all he needs is a clown nose to complete the outfits.
-
Generally, a clown's nose knows.
-
TWO!!
-
HONK if you love a clown.

"When all your years are yester..."
I feel like that's from a Malty & Shire song, but I am not certain.

Today’s the day my MacBook was estimated to be ready to come home from the hospital. Will it happen? I won’t know for a while, but tomorrow would be all right, too.
Fingers crossed you soon have your MacBook home from the hospital.

Friday - I hope I get my car back today.
Fingers crossed you get your car back today and are pleased with the new tire.
-
I'm up, I'm up - almost ten hours of sleep.
-
HA!
I broke down and telephone the car place.
I told the girl who answered who I was and asked what was happening....she said: "Uh....just a minute let me ask........hey, it's the due with the Smart Car.....huh?......okay......can he call you back?"
I said of course.....so we shall see what happens in the next few ticks.
-
And my glasses are ready but I am not about to set foot inside a WalMart on a Friday afternoon or evening.
-
Today I received a Toy Catalog from Meijer and NOT ONE item had a price ....
There are QR codes on every page, so I guess that's how you find out how much something is.
But I'm not that interested.....it mostly looks like a bunch of junk.

That is understandable.

It seems as if there will be sales and price changes. Still, it is odd not to have prices in a catalog.
-
Tonight we will watch an episode of Station Eleven.
-
We have been watching episodes from the first season of Corner Gas.
-
I suppose we will watch another episode tonight.

-
What exactly has happened in the past two weeks?
-
Had an Eyetalian chopped salad from CPK - very good.

Zooming in ten. Hopefully short.

And my glasses are ready but I am not about to set foot inside a WalMart on a Friday afternoon or evening.
My friend Shelly said that she needs to go there today. Hopefully, she has a pleasant experience.

Correction to our tv viewing for tonight.
-
Instead of only watching one episode, we have decided to watch the last two episodes of Station Eleven.
-
Wasn't that exciting.
-
I need four new Smart Tires....at a cost of $600 for the set.....and they will be available sometime next week.
-
I don't see the reviews either......Amazon must be "improving" something.
-
My friend in Israel wrote an emotional article titled "No, We Are Not Ok" :(
-
Reading her heartbreaking article I found out it was a family member that had held the lock down for two and a half hours to keep the terrorist out. They were rescued just as he was beginning to fail.
-
Fifty two of their neighbors have been counted dead, many are still missing :(
-
;)
Brilliant!

The best two episodes.

Yikes.

I wrote Amazon, but in the meantime, ChasSmith's review is back so hopefully John's will be, too.

Ouch but probably better to get a complete set vs one tire.

Hello, everyone.
-
My lack of sleep is dragging me down. One poor night is one thing, but the repetition really does me in.

$600 for four doesn’t sound high to me. I have also learned that your tires are not an area where you want to cut corners.

Does anyone else feel that Sidney Powell received a rather light sentence?

Just what do you — or anyone — say to stop it?
Oh, sorry! I have to be somewhere!
We’re on different sides, pal.
You don’t really believe that, do you?

That is soooo hard. Vibes you sleep tonight.

I guess it needed to be light to get her to tell the truth.

Oh, and then I read for awhile.

Oops, we forgot the last two episodes of Station Eleven are longer.
-
Now we are back to only watching one episode.

There will be popcorn.

Loving The Gunfighter. What an odd, satisfying western. It’s kind of like an inverse western in which the fast hun in yown doesn’t want to shoot anyone.
-
Gregory Peck is great.
-
Perfect supporting cast, including Karl Malden.
-
DR Jane, is Glycine prescription, or over the counter?
-
Tomorrow is the last day of vacation: if all goes according to Hoyle, we will be home tomorrow night.

Sad ending. But not unexpected.

Ricky's wife once told me she believed every word she hears on Fox News. I asked if she understood that it's not really a "news" network...that it's an entertainment channel owned by an Australian and Saudi. She told me I was "misinformed."
So... ultimately, we say NOTHING to one another about politics, and I'm thinking I may have to ask her to refrain from discussing religion since neither she nor my cousin attend church but rely upon the TVangelists who are "pay to pray' scam artists (IMO).

Back from rehearsal. Once again, still on page five. I guess this is becoming the new normal but may I respectfully remind everyone that we're ABNORMAL? Get it together, peoples.
-
Ready for abnormal duty, sir.

Woke this morn with an abnormal case of what they used to call piles. Uncomfortable.

Jim Yester is one of the surviving members of The Association.
-
Terry Kirkman died less than a month ago.

Jim’s brother Jerry played in the Lovin Spoonful and put out a great album with Judy Henske. But Jerry has since had to register as a sex offender.

The Association’s Never My Love is said by BMI to be the 2nd most radio-played song of the 20th century.
-
You’ve Lost That Lovin Feeling was #1
-
YESTERday by the Beatles #3
-
“More”, the Theme from Mondo Cane was #12.

For all you Riz Ortolani fans out there.

Woke this morn with an abnormal case of what they used to call piles. Uncomfortable.
I don't think I want to know what that is. ::)

Nor will I look it up.
-
The Association clock in again at #22 with Terry Kirkman’s “Cherish” a song you don’t hear nearly as much as you used to back in the 20th century.
-
We're here...IT'S PAGE SIX!!
-
And again at #61 with “Windy.”

Today, I finished re-reading Benjamin Kritzer.

Very soonly, I shall begin re-reading Kritzerland.

Hey, Rodzinski, what's a musical theater/theatre/theeder song/show tune that you really like? :)
-
Darn...I missed you. You're no longer here.
-
Well, let's see if I can come up with something.
-
Methinks we need some damn lyrics right about now.
-
A few days ago, I got the new London cast recording to Guys & Dolls (https://castalbums.org/recordings/Guys-and-Dolls-2023-London-Cast/48644), so how's about the title song?? :D
-
What's playing at the Roxy?
-
I'll tell you what's playing at the Roxy.
-
A picture about a Minnesota man falls in love with a Mississippi girl
-
That he sacrifices everything and moves all the way to Biloxi.
-
That's what's playing at the Roxy.
-
What's in the daily news?
-
I'll tell you what's in the daily news.
-
Story about a man bought his wife a small ruby
-
With what otherwise would have been his union dues.
-
That's what's in the daily news.
-
What's happening all over?
-
I'll tell you what's happening all over.
-
Guy sitting home by a television set
-
That used to be something of a rover.

That's what's happening all over.

-
NICELY (spoken) Yes, sir!
-
When you see a guy reach for stars in the sky
-
You can bet that he's doing it for some doll.
-
When you spot a John waiting out in the rain
-
Chances are he's insane as only a John can be for a Jane.
-
When you meet a gent paying all kinds of rent
-
For a flat that could flatten the Taj Mahal.
-
Call it sad, call it funny.
-
But it's better than even money
-
That the guy's only doing it for some doll.
-
When you see a Joe saving half of his dough
-
You can bet there'll be mink in it for some doll.
-
When a bum buys wine like a bum can't afford
-
It's a cinch that the bum is under the thumb of some little broad.
-
When you meet a mug lately out of the jug
-
And he's still lifting platinum folderol
-
Call it hell, call it heaven
-
But it's probable twelve to seven
-
That the guy's only doing it for some doll.
-
When you see a sport and his cash has run short
-
Make a bet that he's banking it with some doll.
-
When a guy wears tails with the front gleaming white
-
Who the hell do you think he's tickling pink on Saturday night?
-
When a lazy slob takes a goody steady job,
-
And he smells from Vitalis and Barbasol.
-
Call it dumb, call it clever
-
Ah, but you can get odds forever
-
That the guy's only doing it for some doll
-
Some doll, some doll
-
The guy's only doing it for some doll!
-
;D
