Well, you've read the notes, the notes were not so horrible, and now it is time for you to post until the not so horrible cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PANACEA!
-
Good morning, friends.
-
:)
-
Glad you are having such a good time, DR vixmom.
-
Stone Harbor, NJ is on a little barrier island, just 10 miles north of Cape May.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I slrept rather well, but I did decide to sleep in another hour as soon as the alarm rang at 6:00.
-
Since Annabelle's whims are subject to change, I have no dea how long she will be sleeping on the pillow next to me, but I love the fact that she's there. Thatch returned to sleep next to me around midnight, but he left at some point, and Stella took his place.
-
This morning, I have some housekeeping I avoided yesterday to attend to. I need to schedule Access-a-Ride for tomorrow, but I'm still taking it rather easy today.
-
I've got you under my skin
-
I've got you, deep in the heart of me
-
So deep in my heart that you're really a part of me
-
I've got you under my skin
-
I'd tried so, not to give in
-
I said to myself this affair never will go so well
-
But why should I try to resist when baby I know so well
-
I've got you under my skin
-
I'd sacrifice anything come what might
-
For the sake of having you near
-
In spite of a warning voice that comes in the night
-
And repeats how it yells in my ear
-
Don't you know, little fool
-
You never can win
-
Why not use your mentality
-
Step up, wake up to reality
-
But each time I do just the thought of you
-
Makes me stop just before I begin
-
Cause I've got you under my skin
-
Yes, I've got you under my skin

Yes. But when?
-
Hi, Laura!
-
You can hear a few (brief) audio excerpts of the music here:
'Here We Are,' Stephen Sondheim's last musical, was a long time coming : NPR (https://www.npr.org/2023/10/23/1207224793/stephen-sondheim-last-musical-here-we-are?fbclid=IwAR0sUFhxjdNosjWTitA2mIo-UiUbGd2n3ouhO9GiMkRI0XI2rvHWfQDPlwY)
-
Good morning, all.
-
It's Monday, and I have a list of things that need to get done today. Why does it seem so daunting?
-
Glad to hear BK's show is coming together better.
The conflicts in theeder seem to get more insidious by the year.
-
Good morning.
Happy 23rd of October.
-
I slept very well, indeed.
I had pleasant dreams, too.
-
TOD:
The best movie sequel I have ever seen is 'The Godfather II". It's superior to the original, IMO.

Cute.

Didn't he play El Gallo in The Fantasticks on Television's Hallmark Hall of Fame?

Good luck DR CHAS SMITH.
I think you will be pleased.
-
I picked up my new eyeglasses from the Vision place and since I still had over $800 that needed to be spent before the end of the year, I ordered another pair AND a pair of prescription sunglasses.
-
If I am watching and movie and did not see the credits, I sometimes don't know if I'm watching Fernando Lamas or Ricardo Montalban.....the same with Hugh Marlowe and Richard Carlson.....

He did. They cut too much of the show, but it was still pretty good.

I always know Hugh Marlowe because he was Jim Matthews on Another World.

Did the little bit of work I needed to and had several telephonic calls, but that should be it.

Had very good pasta rosa with chicken from nearby Antonio's.

Weirdest thing o' the day so far: I took a sip of Diet Coke then suddenly coughed out of the blue, resulting in Diet Coke all over the computer screen. Lovely.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Home from the dentist and the drilling for two replacement crowns and an onlay. I don’t think I’ve ever had both sides of my mouth numbed at the same time before. I feel completely wiped out.
-
It turns out that there’s a bagel bakery nearby that I never knew was there. I left home a few minutes early so I’d have time to try it out. The clerk said, “I gave you a few extras.” She certainly did. I ordered four and she gave me seven. How nice. :)

The bakery where I buy the mini pies is closed on Mondays. WHAT??

I wouldn't eat anything that requires chewing when both sides of my mouth had been numbed, out of caution.

There are things in the kitchen requiring my attention. Namely, dinner. For example.

Congrats, John!

Wow - that's a big change. I hope the decision brings you everything you wish for, DR John G.

I hope you don't regret passing on that other job.
No. A friend of mine got that job. So, it’s all good.

And of course, your post quotient will need to rise accordingly. :)

I need to grt some medical tests done. And some answers before I do anything.

May take it easy until after the first of the year.

Until Medicare.

Watching the rest of A Bronx Tale. De Niro directed and his use of music is excellent. It’s easy to see why someone would turn it into a musical. I think Menken’s problem was a mundane lyricist.
-
But the interracial romance leads to some excessive violence.
-
Are you sure you're not talking about West Side Story? ;)

Are you sure you're not talking about West Side Story? ;)
Close. I felt that way watching the musical.

Starting The Godfather Coda, which is not the same as The Godfather III.

Time to make popcorn though I really don't feel all that great.

I may or may not eat it all tonight.

Dibs on the leftovers.

I do not care for page seven.

I'm currently doing something I haven't done in ages - listening to music and catching up with this big pile o' CDs on the couch. On my second CD now - wonderful stuff.

Good evening.

I walked over nine miles today.

Wow, DR Laura!

Yesterday we saw the world premier of Tiananmen. A lot to think about.

I would like to ride Big Thunder Mountain.

Alan Menken at his finest. Not sure about the performances.

Sofia Coppola, no matter how you reedit the movie, still gives a bad performance.
-
But it’s fun to see the supporting cast: Eli Wallach, George Hamilton, Talia Shire
-
I think it’s time for bed.
-
Good night, all.

So apparently I can do a really good high soprano scream when I unexpectedly nearly trod barefoot on a snake in the living room
-
Vixdad tried to catch it but it went into a hole in the wall so now we must burn down the complex
-
He had duct tape so he taped up the hole
-
So now he thinks we can sleep here
-
HA!
-
Maybe we can STAY here
-
But sleep?!!!
-
It was a little snake, about a foot long and skinny
-
But one does become disconcerted by unexpected snakes
-
Yikes!
-
Snakes are never not creepy.
-
I think Shock Treatment is all-around better than the Rocky Horror Picture Show. So sue me.
-
I’m still in the running to oversee Cemetery and Cremation magazine. Had to proof an article today, as a test. Still not sure I’ll take the gig if offered. But we’ll bury that body if it comes to pass.
-
Went to a Meet the Candidates event for various offices in Whatcom County up for election soon. Turned into mostly a lot of anger directed at the incumbent county manager. It’s nice they come up here since there aren’t a ton of voters.
-
Forgotten sequel: More American Graffiti
-
I thought the Star Wars prequels, the 4th thru the 6th installments, were rancid. Haven’t seen any since those.
-
I was unnaturally excited for the Dumb and Dumber sequel. But it was instantly forgettable.
-
Toy Story 2 was the best in that series. 3 was good. 4 was a waste of time.
-
Jolson Sings Again was a snooze, except when Larry Parks, as Jolson meets Larry Parks playing Larry Parks about to play Jolson in the first movie.
-
The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again was maybe the first sequel I saw in a theater.
-
I’m talking sequels to nobody in particular.

I always liked Corbin once he was out on his own, but she has a good voice...overacting her little heart out. ;)

OMG!! :o

I think Shock Treatment is all-around better than the Rocky Horror Picture Show. So sue me.
I've known others who've felt that way, too. I've only seen it once...maybe twice, so I can't really say, but I did enjoy it when I did see it.
-
Gratuitous Post #250!!
-
I thought the Star Wars prequels, the 4th thru the 6th installments, were rancid. Haven’t seen any since those.
Rodzinski, I'm assuming that you don't, of course, mean the 4th through the 6th episodes because those were the first three that were filmed and were the best of all!
-
But if you mean episodes 1, 2, and 3, then you are, of course, not alone in that assessment. ;D
-
Toy Story 2 was the best in that series. 3 was good. 4 was a waste of time.
I know I saw it, but I don't remember #3. I never did see #4.
-
Stuffing his face with free tacos?
Of course, not...it's not Taco Tuesday!
